The sandwiches are great and they have a variety of options. I usually just get a ham or prosciutto specialty sandwich. Their clam chowder is also very flavorful. The service varies, but unfortunately it's a bit slow. The wait is an average of 20+ minutes from my past experiences. They have a pull tab, but they don't consistently use the numbers and it's slightly disorganized. The prices are a bit expensive, but it's the Napa area so what can ya do lol. The employees are nice and welcoming, but ordering here the first time might be intimidating since you might miss the pull tab and not know where and how to put in an order. Food is great. I love the #9. Everything is fresh! Service is slow and most of the staff doesn't smile. Long lines don't seem to bother them. Lunch time can take over 30 minutes before you can even order. Don't come if you are in any sort of time limit. I think they loose 25% of their customers because they get tired of waiting. read more

Great fast sandwiches, never overstuffed, always classic, great flavors. Today we got "number four" with just enough, fresh basil, balsamic, and a splash of olive oil that seeped nicely into soft ciabatta. If you like your bread toasted, you better say it otherwise it's soft but not soggy. We also got some local beer, brewed at Mare Island for the first time. The pilzner was bitey and good. They also had a brew called "Vallejo", a lager. The shop itself has a coffee shop and a place to purchase local and imported eats and treats. We got an Aqua Pena Tuscany, natural springwater just for kicks. There are wonderful, frozen lasagnas and pastas. I've had these before and they're always quite good. Fresh pasta, and great ingredients. We also purchase some local candy, one of which is like a hard gummy. The candies are tiny and imported from Italy. Don't forget deli meats if you like that sort of thing. We are fans of mortadella and they have both the imported and the local kind. We bought the local kind that doesn't have pistachios, but if you like it with pistachios and a little salty, the imported one is great too. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is that of an Italian deli for sure with a lot of wood and a little bit of an 80s to 90s feel. Tables were cozy and wood. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars! I love this super friendly, lovely delicatessen . We went in for sandwiches for our lunch. I ended up getting a delicious cappuccino from the sweetest little barista woman I was so impressed with the amount of Italian products you can purchase They have everything from put together soups in a crockpot, olive oil's ,cherries, pestos ,coffee, Jams, honey ,breads. already made and ready to take away delicious lasagnas, and gnocchi , raviolis with sauces. They have it all if you are just looking for something delicious. This is the delicatessen you need to try. An impressive wine list, Italian chocolates, and cookies And Italian pastas dried and ready to be prepared for your friends and family . First tip is to make sure you grab a number upon entering. Once your number is called at the deli counter, you may order. Staff was surprisingly not the most welcoming when I let them know (politely) they had skipped my number. I was standing off just a few feet to the girl's right, so it isn't even as if she called it and I missed it. The vibe had more of an unspoken "yeah, yeah hurry up"... so rather than ordering all I had hoped from the deli case, I just grabbed one side and called it at that. 109/2024 Love it here, I try to visit when I am in Napa. Love the Pesto Tortellini. Everything was perfectly seasoned and just right blending if the sourness and saltiness of spices. Ordered the #4 on their Specialty Sandwiches: Prosciutto, Fresh Basil, Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella on Ciabatta bread. Every bite was delicious! Not so friendly person who served me. my grandma used to take me to this restaurant / deli in North Oakland called Genova some of the best sandwiches I've ever had from there when I found out that it's one in Napa, California. I drove from Vallejo with no hesitation. The service was fast and very 101 with your sandwich maker if you haven't been to any of their locations, the one in Napa also said don't go to the one in Walnut Creek. Tried the #3 - salami, provolone, red peppers and mushrooms on Dutch crunch. Also comes with a little oil and vinegar which was perfect. Hubs tried salami with smoked gouda also on Dutch crunch bread. Both sandwiches were great! Everything tasted so fresh and price was fair for your portion. We have been driving from Fairfield to your deli for more than 15 years. We have recommended Genova to family and friends. All experiences have been great until today 4/10/26 the girl that took our order had a very friendly look while talking to a coworker. As soon as she looked at us the look turned to disgust. While we ordered our sandwiches she kept curling her upper lip in disgust. This Italian deli is so classic and classy. The men wear white shirts and ties. Everyone works efficiently and is knowledgeable about the products. There will probably be a wait, but worth it. Ok, there are deli's and then there's Genova. We were looking for gas and happened upon this gem. Opened in 1926 and it feels old school in the best way possible. We met Abraham who guided us and decided on the straight Italian sub. ( no may/no mustard) Simply put, this is quality meat and service. I couldn't decide on a salad ( they have a ton) and went w the calamari. Wonderful. Abraham was nice enough to also give us a sampling of the Greek ( how nice ) We have dear friends in Napa and other than the fabulous wine we tried, this is now a must visit. My family grew up going to the Oakland location. It was my father's favorite deli. So it was a treat for us when we went. I got sandwiches from there till the day it closed. Now Napa is my go to location. It is just the same as I remember growing up. One of the employees from Oakland is currently at Napa location still making sandwiches. The ambiance gives me nostalgia, I love it! I always order the Italian combo on wheat with everything. I don't know what it is but I can't find anything even to come close. What happened? You can read my prior review singing the praises of this place. First sign something was off - no line. Wife ordered the old go to, and when my sandwich was handed to me I thought... did you forget something? This is puny. Like, really small. The sandwich tasted good, sure, and yes, there was a lot of meat for the bread. But this was like 1/3 of the old sandwiches they did, and the prices went up! That's decidedly not amore. Real bummer. One of the best sandwich spots in mid Napa. Not only is an Italian delicatessen. It has a vast selection of local wines and a staff that caters to the customer. From take home gnocchi and ravioli to have pasta do it yourself every sauce, oil, and fish in a can is available here They've got hot Italian classics ready to take out or to build you the sub sandwich that taste like eating at a deli in it Florence. But we ordered sandwiches from the deli, like other reviews mentioned grab a number when you arrive. The bread was soft and fresh and a large selection of sandwich meats, cheeses and other toppings, they have a meatball and sausage option as well. They have a delicious counter or cold salads as well as packaged chips. They have a coffee bar or a refridgerated area of drink options as well as a bottled wines. They have a few seats in the coffee area. Note there was not a public restroom available but a CVS next door. Thr shop is filled with packaged Italian treats, olives, pastas, sauces and more. We were navigating to Oakville Grocery and came here instead. Great alternative if you are in the wine country and want a great sandwich and picnic food. Wish I took pictures! Been there 3 times, as I don't live in Napa, and both times food was amazing! You don't know what you will encounter on how busy it is. First time we went was in the fall we waited (gladly) for 40 min. The roast beef sandwich was fresh and the it was a packed sandwich! The Italian meatballs reasonably priced good size and delicious ! The other times not as busy but they were in the winter so can understand. Well worth going to. Love getting my Italian jar of copy cat Nutella but healthier! This place went down hill after the lady (middle age with black hair) started working here. Everytime I ordered we were disturbed by her lack of cleanliness. She makes sloppy sandwiches and is the only one who charges extra for cheese. Another time she was sweeping and kicking up the dust from the ground while another worker was making me a sandwich. Another time she had a wet sneeze and went on a LOUD laughing attack with the other workers. She's the only woman working up front. She really should get a job as a bar tender with her attitude.
