Awful experience. By far the most shady dental office I have ever been to. Run away or even better don't ever go here. They try to sell you outrageous cleanings say your insurance only pays for polish it's a bold face lie after calling my insurance it's simply not true. The staff is the most unprofessional set of Hispanic chicks I have ever encountered. They talk about you which is funny- not knowing I am fully fluent in Spanish and they roll their eyes and giggle at customers. The billing lady made me pay for a filling before I even had any work done and said I could leave if I didn't give her my credit card while I was in a room already. The most shady people ever! I went to the front and paid even though I still had not had the filling done, no way in hell I was giving anyone there my card. This was my second time coming here, after refusing the scandalous cleanings etc the first time, not sure why I came back I would rather pay twice as much out of pocket not using any insurance than to give this place one more dime. I had such a great experience at this dental office! Dr. Michael was amazing- he took the time to explain everything in terms I could easily understand and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my visit. The entire staff was wonderful and thorough. The receptionist, Angie was super helpful and friendly. The hygienist Andrea, did and excellent job explaining each step and gave me one of the most thorough cleanings I've ever had! The treatment coordinator was also great at going over my insurance coverage and co-pay details clearly. Overall, I felt so welcomed and cared for. Listen to the 1 star reviews! I came here thinking this was a different dentist. That's my fault. Worst experience ever. They told me I had periodontal disease, pressured me into getting a scaling day of first patient exam, sell me on some tray thing that was over a thousand dollars with a month subscription, and sign docs without having a chance to read them. I refused all services telling them my insurance would need to review a scaling first, the pressure they forced was unreal. I left after spending over an hour in the chair feeing pressured and stressed out. Like others said, they would not release my records or X-ray to other doctors when I asked for a second opinion. That's fine, I went to the other dentist I thought I originally scheduled with. Guess who is NOT having periodontal disease issues, who doesn't need to purchase a tray subscription, and was told your teeth are actually really great! ME!!! Normal cleaning, normal routine and outcome. Literally thousands of dollars saved for myself and insurance. Be warned if you go here that are out for your money. Flat out nothing else. I would not recommend anyone coming to this office for dental service. The lobby looks clean, but the staff does not look that sanitary. The staff changes gloves for sterilization yet touches every piece of equipment before wanting to place the Xray disk in your mouth. Their hustle is taking the xrays. Why do you need a full panoramic view then take an additional stack/multiple bite down set of Xrays yet do no work. No dentist on site to counsel or even perform the work. Just give a referral to another dentist that is more than 50 miles away from the High Desert. Why does the staff laugh at customers that are calling and crying about the botched work received. That office is so scandalous, my information is probably being sold on the black market. Came to their office with pain and left with more pain and no work done. Found another dentist that worked on my mouth correctly the following day in the High Desert area. Recommend finding a cleaner, more professional, and tentative dentist office! read more

Went in to have a root canal done & when they were doing the xray for the work the person jammed the plastic this in my mouth so bad that a week later I had to go to a different office for a follow up because they wouldn't have anyone available until the beginning of April. Was told by the other office that he caused a stress ulcer/cankersore. The gentleman that helped me wasn't very welcoming at all either. Also heard someone who was very obviously upset about an issue to where she had to have someone on the phone to help her advocate for herself just to be turned away by them with no other options of help before they could see her. I am beyond frustrated with the unprofessionalism at Gentle Dental. Within the past month, they have scheduled my 9-year-old daughter for two separate appointments, and both times, when we arrived, they claimed she had no appointment. Then, I kept receiving calls from their office asking to schedule her for a cleaning--only to be told when I called back that they do not take children anymore. When I asked for an explanation, the receptionist was incredibly rude, dismissive, and kept repeating, "We no longer take kids," with an attitude, instead of addressing why they would repeatedly call me to book an appointment for a patient they now refuse to see. When I pointed this out, her only response was, "It's because she was seen here before." Exactly my point! If she was seen here before, why are we now being treated like an inconvenience? This used to be my daughter's primary dental office, but after this chaotic experience, we will be finding a new provider. Terrible customer service, zero accountability, and an utter lack of professionalism. If you care about reliability and respect, take your business elsewhere. read more

Went to Gentle Dental on June 6th 2024 to have a tooth pulled and some other stuff done The job was done I paid them 808.00 at time of service. The problem however is they keep billing me for it every month for this bill that's been already paid. Despite the fact that I tried many times to resolve this they still send a bill 7 months later and are now going to collections. The bill has a phone # says questions call this # I call and all I do is get the run around. The person I talked to says they know about the error but hasn't had a chance to fix it! In 7 months! I told her I paid at time of service value my credit and don't want this going to collections. She said only the Mgr could fix this but she won't be back for (about) a month. It's obvious their bookkeeping in atrocious and they don't know how to run a business. I at my wits end with trying to fix there mistake. read more

Called 9/17 Confirmed with the person who picked up the phone at the Hesperia office that Gentle Dental took DeltaCare thru my employer group plan. He confirmed that they take DeltaCare.....first roadblock out of the way. Next appt in Hesperia wasn't until 10/28 and hubby had a more urgent situation. Scheduler found an opening on 9/27 (today) in AV office. Spent 15/20 mins on phone wiht scheduler providing the DeltaCare policy details etc. Got reminders about appointment via email and text a few days ago. Hubby calls AV office to confirm this a.m. and they tell him his appointment has been canceled because they don't take DeltaCare!!!! Caring and Considerate: I found the reception staff pleasant and helpful. I called the office the day before and the young man listened and I was given an appointment for the next day. My husband uses the same dentist but in Hesperia I explained why I needed to be seen and they made an effort to accommodate me asap with an opening at their Apple Valley location. I did not feel pressured and I was not sold services that I did not ask for or need. I will likely go back for future care. Since I only had a crown re-cemented I cannot fully speak to the quality of care from just this visit. I appreciated being listened to and given what I needed. I have more to say but it will be about a negative experience with another provider. I found Gentle Dental Satisfactory and I will use their service again. read more

I avoid the dentist until I have no choice but to go in!! I came in because my filing broke, walked into the office to see if they had any openings on 3/22/22 and they didn't but they did for today 3/23/22 at noon. Filled out new patient paperwork and was seen maybe 5 minutes after I finished the paperwork. X-rays were done, the tech was nice!! As soon as those were done the doctor came in with an assistant. We went over my X-rays and he did his exam on my teeth. Explained everything to where I understood. Both were soo nice!! Dentist appointments make me nervous!! This is the first time I have laughed with a dentist and felt super comfortable!! He fixed my filing and I was good to go. I'm definitely coming back to get more work done later but I know I'm in good hands!! read more

I informed the hygienist I was extremely nervous when she called me back, she and the Dr then went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable! Asking me if i was ok often. Be very careful with this place. I have been waiting to leave a review until I had a second opinion. Long story short was told I needed a Root canal, crown, special mouth guard made to put special paste in it for nighttime use, deep cleaning and maybe some other things I can't remember. I asked what if I just want to fix my back molar and get a cleaning? She told that's not possible and that my appointment couldn't continue without agreeing to receive that treatment. Not even a cleaning. So I left. Went to another dentist. Thank God I left because come to find out my teeth are perfectly fine. Just needed a deep cleaning. No root canal, no crown no nothing. Told me that they were straight up lying to me to make a PROFIT. just to think that I was about to endure that pain without even needing too. Be careful. Plus the paste they were going to give me is known to give health issues to patients. A lot of dentist don't even acknowledge that paste anymore due to that reason. Very bad morals. Where to begin. The last time I saw a dentist was at least 15 years ago due to a very bad experience. But I didn't have much choice since I had a couple of teeth broken and a bridge messed up and made eating almost impossible. I started a search for dentist's that accepted my insurance and found quit a few. I actually choose Gentle Dental because of how close to my residence and the name. Knowing I would have at least a 30 minute drive anywhere I went. When I got there the staff was very pleasant to talk to and greeted me right away. They are also in the remolding stage. When I got to the room all the equipment looked new. They took x-rays and then begin to tell me what was going to be needed done. It was either a partial with not matching color or remove all and denture in. I choose denture. I came back two weeks later after the impressions were made to have the upper teeth removed. I had voiced what happened the last time I was at a dentist and why I hadn't been back and Dr. Fu's words were I'll be as gentle as possible. On the day of removal I was very nervous and anxious. Before he began he explained everything that was going to be done. He also explained the roof of my mouth putting in the Novocain was going to be painful. Which I was already forewarned. He began the numbing process, he started with the right side then went to the left. He left for a few minutes to let it take effect. When he came back it was more on the let side then the roof. Before he started the roof he let me know it was time and gave me a few seconds to get ready. Yes it's quite painful up there. He left again to let that take effect. He came back and got started. He started with the easy ones first. then the hard ones. Now he told me if I feel any pain to raise my left hand and he will stop and renumb me. All through pulling I believe 11 teeth he talked me through it telling me I was going great asking if pain telling me when I would feel pressure or a lot of pressure. Some were tougher than others, 2 of them the roots went into my sinuses and 2 were very stubborn. I must admit this is the best dentist I have ever been to and will keep going back. No trying to sell me something I didn't need and all was my choice. I have noticed a lot of these reviews are 3 years old and not good. A lot has changed since then and new equipment. I wasn't going to make this review because I was just happy to not be in pain anymore after 2 years of it. But I was lied to at least 3-4 different times in 2 visits... If you value your teeth don't go here or any other GD location. First they put my crowns (2) on backwards and played it off like they had no clue why I couldn't close my mouth correctly RESULTING in having to file the bejesus out of them and they now look horrid. Their work was perfect ... 2nd the dentist himself assured me that they would work with me on payments for the bone grafts that I just HAD to have... because I can hardly pay my bills right now but at least I try... he said he would rather I pay my bills because I have kids. Load of ... they were to call me before taking out the rest of what I owed to make sure I had the funds. They never called me. So now I'm over drawn and unable to pay important bills like electricity and gas. But no. This GREEDY dentist deserves this review. If you have medi cal PLEASE PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH!! I went to Gentle Dental because they were offering a 'special' $25 for x-rays, an exam, and a teeth cleaning. I left without a teeth cleaning, in fact they *refused* to clean my teeth because they said I needed to get the deep cleaning which was $500, and I also left with a $4,000 estimate of work that needed to be done. I'm no dental hygienist, but I do take care of my teeth and have fairly regular checkups, so this came as a shock to me. I decided to get two other opinions - my husband encouraged me to spend a little more money on the exam, because, well, you get what you pay for. At my second exam/x-ray/cleaning they actually cleaned my teeth and told me that I didn't need the intensive/deep clean because my teeth weren't that bad. They told me I had ONE cavity that needed filling and that the gum recession (that gentle dental wanted to do work on) was from brushing my teeth too hard and that I should lighten up and they'll check it at my next cleaning to see if it's gotten worse. Everyone at Gentle Dental was 'nice' to me, but I personally think at a high level they're running a scam, or at the very least they are in it for the busine$$ and not for my health. read more

Have been coming here for over a year, and it seems that every time I go In they try to find "something" wrong, and the try to up sell additional services that my insurance doesn't cover. Im very diligent with my oral care, so I don't buy all their sells pitch. Maria seems pushy trying to get you to cough up more money. This is singlehandedly THE WORST dentists office you can come across. The employees try their best to milk your insurance to the extent of complete lies. The dentist we went to before Gentle Dental said that they couldn't pull a tooth because the roots were too curved. The x-ray showed straight roots on the tooth with the cavity at the first dentist and at Gentle Dental. I went to Gentle Dental on 3/17/2016. They were the closest dentist my insurance covered so I took a shot. I grew up never going to the dentist and the last time I had gone to one was 5 years prior to have my wisdom teeth removed. A filling I had done by a shady dentist when I was 15, fell out taking half of my molar with it. I don't like doing anything involving large amounts of money without doing my research first. I knew I was in need of a deep cleaning, and I figured I'd need a root canal, post, and crown for the broken tooth. I have decent insurance so I looked up my copays and went in for a consultation. They recommended a deep cleaning and said that I'd probably need a root canal. No upselling and trying to get me to have procedures done that I didn't need. They printed out what they would be charging for each procedure and it matched my copays so I was fine. As far as the actual work done, I was pleasantly surprised. The last time I had my teeth cleaned it felt like the dentist hated me. He wouldn't use any anesthetic and was yanking at my teeth so bad I felt like he was going to break them. The woman that did my deep clean was pleasant and when she saw the deep cleaning was hurting some, she quickly numbed me up. My teeth looked so much better afterwards and I'm not even sore today. After that I had to have a the root canal. They numbed me again, but I could still feel a little pain so they numbed my pallet. Having the roof of my mouth numb freaked me. I over reacted and had to run and vomit. I felt like an idiot and the endodontist was looking at me like I was one, but oh well. I don't care because thanks to her numbing my mouth properly, I didn't feel one hint of pain during the root canal and she finished it quickly. I had to wait an 2 hours for them to start taking the molds for my crown. I can see how this would have been a pain if I hadn't taken the full day off of work. I will admit that my deep cleaning took a little longer since I needed more anesthetic and I don't expect them to keep everyone else waiting because I don't tolerate pain well. Plus, dentists have to eat too. I ran home and relaxed for a bit and then came back after lunch. I was walked out with the molds done and a temp crown about 2 hours later. Summary Customer Service 4/5 - Front desk and billing were fast, nice and courteous but I was there from 9 am to 4:30 pm. If you're going in fore more than the basics, take the whole day off. Pricing 5/5 - Was charged what I expected with no upselling or hidden fees Decor 3/5 - old and worn furniture and cabinets but clean. Dental Service 4/5 - They take their name seriously. None of the procedures hurt and my mouth feels fine a day after. They did tend to talk to each other about weird things as if I wasn't in the room. It kept me distracted from the drills and lasers in my mouth but more uptight people could find it rude. 4/5 overall. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE. -They other someone else's xrays still put up when I got into the exam room. -They used white filling when I specifically asked for the silver (which was covered by ins.). Then charged me for the white. -Had my son's chart and personal information just sitting out on the front desk without a folder or anything. (When I had walked through the door.
