To schedule someone to have wisdom teeth extracted in March then call THE DAY BEFORE an extraction to cancel because they JUST NOW realized that the don't take Delta Dental? something scammy about this doctor.... I had medicade so my service should have been 100% covered. At the appointment time, he told me I had to pay $150 to get a CT scan to see all my teeth. Then he told me that the CT scan was not covereed and I had to pay out of pocket. He also said that he would not do any services on me until I had a CT scan. Basically I was in pain when I can in, but I had to pay him$150 extra even though everything is suppose to be covered...... I though about reporting this to the healther insurance company for fraud. And I still might. Some time has passed since I got the services done. I was referred by my dentist to see George K Chew for oral extraction of my wisdom teeth. It was the worst experience ever. To begin with, it took two months to get only a check-up appointment. He told me that I needed to pay to get a CT scan of my teeth and that my insurance did not covet it so I had to pay out of pocket although I came to find out that it was unnecessary. After it took another two months to get an appointment where would have my wisdom extracted. He said it would take only 20 minutes to extract all four wisdom teeth. No reasonable dentist would do a job in such a hurry and I felt completely unsafe and did not go forth. He did not understand English when I spoke to him I'm not sure if it's because of the space suit that he was wearing so I had to speak to his assistant in Spanish because communication was lost with him. He also got really frustrated and angry because I could not understand him, but it's not my fault that he spoke too low and has an accent. read more

I got referred here by my dentist to pull out my wisdom teeth and I was so nervous. However, when I walked in i was greeted very nicely by the receptionist and she handed me a clipboard to fill out some info. Once I was called and brought into one of the rooms, Dr. Chew came in soon after and his calm demeanor and goofy sense of humor immediately made me relax! He's a great surgeon and I trust him 100%. I believe each tooth took less than 5 minutes? Throughout the surgery he was super calm and even held a little conversation with his assistant. Overall pleasant experience at Dr. Chew's office. The staff were attentive and informative as they explained what I needed to do for a quick recovery after my wisdom teeth extraction. Dr. Chew made me feel comfortable during the procedure by letting me know what he was doing and what to expect as he pulled out my teeth. I was numbed out so I didn't feel any pain during the extraction, recovery was smooth. During my return checkup, Dr. Chew was very nice to respond to my curious questions about my remaining teeth. I was referred here by a friend who also got wisdom teeth removal from Dr. Chew. I had a smooth process in getting the appointment and the surgery appointment without any attitude. The front office staff were very helpful and nice, I don't get why other people gave these ladies such a bad review, maybe bitterness from the teeth pain. Yes, there's a heavy volume of patients coming here, don't expect to get an appointment the day of. I got a consultation appointment roughly which was roughly a month out then received the authorization from the insurance a few weeks after and the surgery date was optional based off of my schedule. If you want to skip all of the waiting, just pay cash. Dr. Chew is very skilled at what he does surgically, but personality wise, maybe people did not understand his sense of humor. He only took about 20 minutes to pull out all four impacted teeth. And before we began he made sure I was fully sedated and not in any sort of discomfort or pain. STOP! Don't come to this office. I took my mom here to get teeth extractions from MED-I-CAL program. They would extract the teeth from the same say I'd my mom paid CASH. The office exaggerated and said it will take 6 MONTHS to get an authorization. I called MED-I-CAL and they advised me the oral surgeon could of extracted the teeth and billed them. My mom was in so much pain and she ended up paying $714 to extract 3 teeth. This office isn't honest! read more

I highly recommend Dr.Chew for wisdom teeth removal. I don't usually make Yelp reviews but i felt that I wanted to put in a good word for his work. He is very skilled in what he does and he is very honest and nice (but does not baby you). I had 4 of my wisdom teeth removed with local anesthesia and he was finished in less than 30 min. The most painful part was the anesthesia shots but other than that it was no pain just a lot of pressure and pulling. He was late. I had to wait half an hour to see him for my wisdom teeth but it was worth it. My regular dentist recommended him and I can see why. He talked to me about my wisdom teeth and then told the dental assistant to rub the anesthsia on me. I was actually already crying!!! I didn't know that I was such a baby but I guess I was just scared from the horror stories that pansy friends told me. I was only given topicial and then a shot to numb the area. I kept my eyes closed for the entire 15 minutes procedure and it was fine. He pulled out the four wisdom teeth expertly and put it in a box for me. There was swelling but not too bad. The bleeding only lasted two days. Maybe I'm just lucky but I was eating sushi that night already. I was so hungry. Another tip: buy canned soups. You can blend it and then drink it. It will fill you up. I got the Progressive beef stew and blended it, and put a dollop of sour cream on top. Super good. read more

My dentist, who is just down the street on Garfield, was the one who referred me to Dr. Chew. I was a bit skeptical at first, thinking it was some kind of "dental community help each others business out" type of referral, but needless to say, I was wrong. Dr. Chew is a BOSS, opting only for local anesthesia because all that other stuff is for mansy pansies. I had to remove both of my bottom wisdom teeth because they were growing directly against my other teeth. The procedure cost about $770 (no insurance), including the x-rays. It took about 15-20 minutes for the whole operation and was RELATIVELY painless. There was obviously some pressure and discomfort as one would imagine when some guy is drilling your tooth to bits and pieces while at the same time tugging it out of the socket. But Dr. Chew was very friendly and talks to you throughout the process, though the only way to respond was to nod and drool at the mouth....but it was over before I knew it and I even got to keep the pieces after the surgery! Why that's still cool to me is still confusing to me as well. The only reason I didn't budge on the fifth star is because I had to ask a lot of questions about post-surgery care; he didn't tell off the bat as he should have. The post-surgery packet (instructions, gauze, etc) had crappy instructions, not telling me what I can't eat or do (I ended up playing ball the next day and eating at Souplantation...very slowly). Also the lady at the front desk needs to be more friendly and smile more :) read more

Dr. Chew is an excellent doctor. The building was easy to find with a decent amount of parking. His staff was professional and courteous, and I was seen by Dr. Chew shortly after arriving. I had my wisdom teeth extraction today and Dr. Chew was great at explaining the imaging as well as what to expect for the procedure. As far as the procedure itself, it took only 5-10 minutes after the pain medication kicked in. The staff made sure I understood the after care instructions well and scheduled me for a follow up appointment with ease. The procedure was smooth, pain free, and very fast . I highly recommend this place. Dr. Chew and his staff will take great care of you. Make sure to schedule your appointment early on because Dr. Chew has a busy schedule and you might not get an appointment at least for a few weeks. read more

Thank you Dr. I suffered from pain top right wisdom for years.. on NYE it broke and was in severe pain. To the point I couldn't even function or think due to pain. Had it numb in 10-15mins tooth out in a few minutes. Suddenly the pain in my head and neck just started relaxing been a few days now. I missed talking, laughing and eating without pain I forgot what it's like. Still have the bottom right wisdom tooth annoyance, I'll have to plan that one. read more

Overall, this experience has been less painful than expected. I got my two lower wisdom teeth removed and it was amazingly less painful than getting a cavity filled. What's more is that this was done without being put to sleep. I'm currently sitting in bed, 1 hour after my extractions and happy to know that it was a painless process and that I saved money from having to have an anesthesiologist put me to sleep for something that's not even painful. So my appointment was at 1. There were like 4 other people waiting for a 1pm appointment. Keep in mind that it was a Friday. It's the best day to be at a place like this since the weekend starts...tomorrow. Anyways, after a 50 minute wait to be called in, I meet Dr. Chew again. His english is not native, but trust me, it's better than some of the Russian professors I've had in college. First thing's first, he put 2 swabs to slightly numb/prep my gums for the numbing needles (Novocain?) He also cleaned out the area for anh food. He caught me, found a seed from my In n Out burger I just ate before going to him. Then I saw him take out the needle, so I closed my eyes...God, i hate needles. It was the same type of needles they use for when they numb you for cavity fillings. So there were about 3 pokes on each side. I honestly think that this was the most painful part of the surgery because of my fear of needles. He left the room to take care of a few other patients while the numbing kicked in. The tip of my tongue began to tingle. Now for the juicy part, which I've been dreading since I made my appointment for today. There are a few things that they use for the entire process. He started by drilling on my tooth, totally painless, honestly! It did hurt for a split second after a little more drilling, so i winked at him. So he gave me a little more Novocain from the needle, which was painless too. After some drilling, he used this tool to crack the teeth, which all you hear is cracking, painless. Then his assistant uses the sucker to pick up the pieces of teeth. He repeats this until the entire wisdom tooth is gone and starts on the other side. The other side was even easier because it wasn't impacted and crooked like the first one. This experience was wayyyyyyy more pleasant than expected. Again, I have to emphasize that it was less painful than getting a cavity filled. Unlike a cavity filling where you smell that burning teeth smell, there is no odor from the tools he uses during the extraction process. I hope that my review will help you make a wise decision when choosing your next oral surgeon. I went to a few others who tried to overcharge for the same procedure. *ahem* Dr. Stamper who tried to get me to do all 4 wisdom teeth and charge me $3200 - see my review about him. Anyway, I'm a very happy customer and highly recommend George Chew for your wisdom tooth or wisdom teeth extraction and looking for a great oral surgeon for your next oral surgery procedure. Damn, now I need to go change my gauze. His directions say ever 30 minutes...it's been 40, haha...oops. Still numb as hell though with a reservoir of saliva underneath my tongue. O yea, I was called in at 1:50 and when I saw clock in the car, it was 2:12. What I also did was made my payment before the surgery so that I wouldn't have to worry about it afterwards. He also prescribed some antibiotics and vicatin (pain reliever). Went to rite-aid afterwards to get my medication. All I can say is wow.... Dr. Chew was really fast. While waiting for the x-ray, he took the time to chat. Afterwards, he saw the x-ray and explained why the wisdom tooth should be extracted. Here's the "wow" part. He used local anesthesia, waited approximately 5-10 min for it to kick it, then extracted my wisdom tooth in another 2-5 minutes. It was so fast that I couldn't believe it. I've had another wisdom tooth taken out by another dentist years ago... all I remember was that it took 2 hrs to do it. Here? 10-15 minutes? Amazing! He's the best! I got 4 impacted wisdom teeth pulled out!!! While waiting for those two months (1 month for consultation, 1 month for the surgery). I had nightmares at least 4 times cause I was so scared of the numbing injection. He only uses local anesthesia. My previous teeth extraction experience for braces, with the smelling gas, was very painful and traumatized . I knew that after I was numbed, the rest of the procedure would be painless. So on the day of my procedure, he knew I was so nervous about the needles and the injections, he applied topic numbing jell around my teeth first. And he told me every step he's doing. Before the needle was injected, he let me know that it would hurt a little. He poked me like 3-4 times per teeth. It was actually not bad! Just tiny little sting. Only one or two injections hurt a little ( probably because of the solution, the ph thing). But it was absolutely tolerable!!! It was way more better than I thought it would be! After the numbing part, everything was easy. Just relax, I know the noises from the tools sounds scary, but you will feel nothing! He is super nice guy, he kept encouraging me like " thank you for helping me"(when he asked me to close my mouth a little bit)， " you did a very good job" ，" no pain right?" " only one more :)..." and he kept saying sorry when he's giving me the injection, even though it didn't hurt a lot. read more

I've gotta say- I'm terrified of going to any dentist, and Dr. Chew did a superb job of extracting all four of my wisdom teeth, which I had removed just about a week ago. Going in, he said that it would be a short procedure, but what scared me was that I would not be put under sleep, and only my gums and lips would be numb during the surgery. So, fast forward a week later...I went into surgery and the whole procedure only took 15 minutes! I listened to my music during the entire session and came out not feeling a thing! (Thank goodness!) Afterwards, Dr. Chew prescribed Tylenol as a painkillers (which I didn't take at all during my four-day recovery) and an antibiotic -amoxicillin- which I took for about 6 days. All in all, I honestly had no severe pain, and it felt like cold sores that were bearable during my four days of recovery. There wasn't any need for Tylenol, and I avoid taking any drug when I can. My cheeks swelled on days 2 and 3, and after those days, my cheeks pretty much looked normal. I highly recommend Dr. Chew, and I was definitely satisfied with my experience. With two fully impacted wisdom teeth, I was referred to Dr. Chew through my general dentist. I made an appointment over the phone. Other reviews said it took a month to get an appointment, but I got an appointment a little over two weeks out. Felt rushed on the phone. When asked for an appointment, she gave me a date and time. It was only after I was like huh? That she asked if it was ok. Wasn't entirely a bad experience, just different than what I'm use to in appointment setting. The office is small, parking lot is even tinier w/o no street parking. Lots of patients inside. I checked in w/ the receptionist. She was a bit stern, but she was very knowledgeable. She seems like a very 'to-the-point' kind of person. The person on the phone told me what to bring, but she didn't say anything about my health insurance. It's my first time at an oral surgeon and apparently they're required to bill my health insurance first, which is fine but they should have told me. But anyways, the receptionist said it was no problem and that I could just e-mail her. I appreciate the accommodation. The office was cool, at least compared to what I'm use to. X-ray machine scanned 360 degrees and they did everything on the computer rather than manually writing down notes. Signatures were digital. Felt like I was waiting a while to see the actual doctor, but in reality, it was probably faster than other doctors' offices. I could hear/see him bouncing back and forth between several patients. Actual procedure... I don't know if it was fast as others have said but it did happen quickly. The numbing shots came rapid fire, one after the other. Not even a second to breathe in between. Felt like my face was under siege. They were very painful. By the time all that was said and done. My body was trembling. Sadly the shots didn't numb enough. I felt some pain still, one side more than the other and they have to give me more shots. One shot was so painful, I almost jumped out of my seat. Dr. Chew just kept saying sorry as he cradled my face. After finishing one tooth, he asked me if I wanted a break but I figured I had already met death, we might as well keep going. His assistant was very polite. She seemed very interested in dental work. Dr. Chew seemed like a cool boss based on the the way the him and the staff were with each other. But I didn't like that they were still chatting it up whilst they were about to go to town on my mouth. My mind is already going 100 mph in anticipation of the procedure. The laughter didn't help at all. Sometimes you need to know when to switch it on and off. I also didn't like, however, that they left the door wide open. I understand that the doctor is use to bouncing, but I want to feel like I'm important for one minute and also that I'm not on display. Some other dental assistant stood at the door to watch me during the procedure and I didn't appreciate that. I really wished they had let me see my teeth. I think anyone would be curious, but they dumped it in a pan and took it out of the room right away. Happened so quickly, I didn't even have a chance to ask about it. But all in all, there weren't too many negative points. Following the procedure, they take you to a room with recliners for you to relax in for a minute while you go over care instructions. Dr. Chew is very fast and efficient. Shows professionalism by thorough communication. Had 2 wisdom tooth extraction on the top. The waiting for the numbing processes took longer than the extraction itself. Had a consultation and extraction the same day, which is very rare to find. During consultation, Dr. Chew gave advice and opinions things/procedures that would help out with proper dental longevity and health (missing two molars on the bottom) During procedure, Dr. Chew will let you know what he is doing. I find this very irritating that I was sent from my other dentist and I had to wait over 2 and a half months just to book an appointment w this dr chew to CHECK my teeth and see which he needed to take out just to find out I had to wait another one and a half months to wait for my insurance to approve it. no one should ever wait 4 months with aching wisdom teeth. I'm not blaming this plaace but I'm rly blaming this insurance thing. this is fucked up. even before all this insurance thing has gotten more "serious" everything has become more complicated to get anything even done. about a year ago, I had hurt my knee and I had gone to my family doctors. I was told to wait a month or so until it healed and if it didn't to come back. It didn't, so I went back. they told me that they were going to send me to a different doctors to check my knee. I had work done by Dr. Chew back in 2020 for wisdom teeth extraction- all 4. Although he was skilled at what he does, his behavior was very unprofessional and rude. Zero empathy and made me feel even more afraid of the procedure. Not to mention, I almost got fired from my job because he wouldn't write me a note justifying my absence from work due to oral pain. He claimed it was my personal perception as to why I couldn't work... Yet, here we were pulling my teeth out because my wisdom teeth were putting pressure of my nerves. He could care less even though I disclosed my situation. I'd recommend going somewhere else. He truly made my first oral surgery traumatic and degrading. If you want to get scammed and go to the worst place to get your wisdom teeth removed, you are in luck. It took 3 months to get an appointment and another 2 months until I could actually get my wisdom teeth extracted. If you're an anxious person he is only going to make your experience worse as I felt like I was going to have a panic attack. When I asked about getting put to sleep he responded with, "Well then go find a doctor who does that." Considering that this is a daunting procedure, you would think he would at least try to make you feel at ease. The entire time I was there, he was in a rush, tending to multiple patients at a time and even through the procedure he very sloppy which took about 5 minutes. A surgeon should be more careful and patient. But he is the worst, he is not understanding, rude, and treats you less than human. The local anesthesia shots were extremely painful and it was inserted and reinserted around 8 different times in different areas of my mouth (and I have a high pain tolerance); getting put under would be the best option. During the process, he is rocking your head back and forth and you can hear your tooth being yanked out. This place also charges $200 for a CT scan claiming it is not covered by insurance. I'm almost certain it is fraud and I will be reporting him. I've talked to multiple people about their wisdom teeth removal experience and none of them waited over 5 months nor were awake. Be kind to yourself and FIND A DIFFERENT SURGEON. You should not have to wait 5 months for a wisdom teeth removal, this is not standard practice especially if you're already in pain. Other places send you home with ice packs and a head wrap. This place rushes you home in less than a minute with a headache and a note for aftercare. read more

I accompanied my fiance the day he had his appointment to remove all 4 wisdom teeth. Im not sure why anyone would want to be awake during this process.. (A few yrs back i got mine removed and i was put to sleep, BEST IDEA EVER) The staff here are not the friendliest, most of the time theyre either on their phone or just watching a movie/tv show. The surgeon is nice, however the actual removal looked daunting. My fiance said the shots to numb were terribly painful, not to mention the intense pulling of the teeth! He said u could literally hear and feel the tooth being yanked from your jaw. Its just a traumatizing event your head is being rocked back and forth in motion while the surgeon struggles to twist it out!!!!! So about 20 min later hes released bloody lips and all, like they couldnt bother wiping it off. As if this is bad enough... about a week or two later we get a notice in the mail that they are trying to charge a balance( my fiance had paid in full the day of which he was told was the total no hidden charges) Now, about two months later, the root of his wisdom tooth is coming out the side of his gums and hurting him!!! im so mad i could go and tell off the surgeon!!! got a referral from my dentist to get a 3D X-ray here to determine if it is neccessary to remove my wisdom teeth. I called in August and wait for 6 weeks for my appointment. I came in on time but been waiting for 90 min and still waiting for Dr. Chew... The staffs here are so rude when I ask them how long I will need to wait. They simple said either I wait or reschedule for next visit (like seriously I came after 6 weeks and u want me to wait again) I noticed he is with patients that came way after me. H stopped by 15 minutes after and insisted I should remove all four wisdom teeth without taking x-ray. None of them bother me and my primary dentist said I should get an 3D xray to see if the lower left root going towards my vein. But dr chew gave me two options saying i should remove all 4 then do xray or I can leave because it just a waste of time, money, xray n effort if I dont want to remove all 4. Well obviously I need an x ray to see if its neccessary to remove lower left and the other 3 and he would want me to remove all 4 because of money. In November, I was referred to Dr. George Chew by my sister to remove my wisdom teeth. It was advised by my dentist to remove all four but after Dr. Chew analyzed my x-rays, he said I only needed to remove the bottom two (yay!). I don't have dental insurance, so it cost a little under $1,000 for the consultation and surgery. I was given an anesthetic shot on each side and could not feel a thing. Dr. Chew talked the whole time during the procedure to calm my nerves and let me know exactly what he was doing. I didn't see the instruments but hearing all the drilling inside my mouth was a bit traumatizing. Dr. Chew does his best to make the experience as pleasant as possible. He's kind of silly and goofy and shows it through his sense of humor. The entire procedure took less than 15-minutes. The office is very clean and sanitary. After my surgery, I was given medical supplies (cotton balls, bibs, etc.) in a little care package and sent on my way. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! He cracked my jaw back in 2010. Seriously. Pulled out 4 wisdom teeth here, but apparently one was too big and he used too much pressure. The result: cracked left condyle. Thanks to that effed up experience, I have TMJ disorder now. Bad bad place. Came back multiple times to ask for a fix, but all he did was blame me. He said he did nothing wrong, it's only because I clench my teeth at night that resulted in TMJ. Dude, I NEVER clenched my teeth before I pulled out those wisdom teeth. Never. Very unprofessional. Plus his receptionist yelled at me one time for calling too often. Who the heck does that?! Go at your own risk. You've been warned. read more

I recommend Dr. Chew! Parking: They have a mini parking lot in the back, but I suggest you park on Linda Vista Ave. It has street cleaning on Wednesdays (one side is 8-11 and another is noon-2). Pointers and Experience: The facility isn't as clean or bright as a updated office but it works. Call and make the appointment, have your dental insurance information ready so you can tell the staff over the phone. Call 1 week before you get to your appointment to ask about the coverage of your insurance. Make sure you go a bit early on the day of because if you're a first timer, you'll be filling out lots of paperwork. I had an 8:15am appointment, was seated and seen by Dr. Chew around 8:25am. He only speaks English, after speaking to me about my visit, I went to get a full x-ray. I liked the Xray because I didn't have to bite films, it was a giant probe that scans your mouth. (Make sure you take off your necklace, etc). After the x-ray, Dr. Chew came by and looked at the x-ray with me and discussed what we should do. He suggested to remove my bottom two wisdom teeth via local anesthesia. I was freaking out but he was really nice and tried to distract me by asking about my profession. After he poked my gums ~4-5 times on each side, he even sat with me in the office to just tell me stories. He started to work on my teeth after ~10 minutes. He explained everything and mentioned that my wisdom teeth are interesting because they weren't budging. I've read other reviews and noticed that some people had an easier time (like 1-2 minutes each tooth), but it took around 5 minutes per tooth for me. Relatively, fast I'd say. He stitched me up, and the assistant gauzed me. I then walked into the resting room where I was given instructions. Pain: It didn't hurt, obviously when he was extracting my teeth, but I got home and after 5 hours, I felt my gums pulsing with intense pain. Luckily, Dr. Chew prescribed me some pain killers + codeine and also some antibiotics because I also started a fever. I had pain, fever, plus puffiness in the first day, discomfort+ fever the 2nd day, and no pain but puffy cheeks from day 3-6. Make sure you gargle! Follow up appointment: I went back for my follow up appointment today, literally took 1 minute. Dr. Chew checked out my gums and told me that it looks good. I told him that I still feel tightness and scar tissue, and he said it was normal. I'm starting to get full mouth movement again. I highly recommend Dr. Chew, it cost me $636 to extract two teeth, he also charged me the minimal price for tooth extraction. read more

I have to first say that I'm highly afraid of pain and SUPER scared of needles because I'm a chicken. I even cry when I get vaccinations at my doctor office. It doesn't help that my cousin told me you have to get like 3 shots per tooth...therefore 12 or so in total. It also didn't help that my mom wouldn't let me get knocked out with anesthesia. So, knowing that I have to get my wisdom teeth out by surgery while I'm awake freaked me out like no tomorrow. I did not want to do it, but I had to. Better sooner than later I guess. When I got there, I waited for a little bit for the nurses to get the paper work done and call the insurance company. Then I was led into a room where I waited a little more. Following that was a full oral x-ray. Dr. Chew finally came in after the x-ray was ready and he explained to me what my situation was. I had 4 wisdom teeth. The 2 on the upper jaw were growing straight down, and the 2 on the lower jaw were growing at an angle. Apparently, my wisdom teeth grew in really early, meaning they are a lot bigger than the normal. Also, my wisdom tooth on the left side of my lower jaw was right on top of a nerve. Not close. Right on top. He told me that in the process of removing that tooth, there is a 30% chance that my nerve might get damage. If so, I will lose feeling in my lower left lip forever. I was already scared as hell and now I got more good news...great! He proceeded to tell me that if I don't remove it today, it'll only get worst in the future since it will cause the adjacent tooth to get a cavity. Then, both will need to be removed. At least I wasn't a rare case. He told me that he tells 4-5 people the same news everyday. And in his 22 years of profession, it only happened to like 20 people. So that's one a year. Man, I really really hoped it wasn't going to be me. Either way I'd have to do it right? So I manned up. So they had me lay down on the seat and open my mouth. Immediately he started sticking needles in my mouth and giving me shots here and there. It actually wasn't that bad. It's just the ones to the ceiling of my mouth that hurt because I could feel the liquid go into my mouth. Like a couple minutes after the shots. I was all numb. The operation then began. I really didn't feel anything. I heard scratching against the tooth when he was opening the gum of my lower jaw. Then there was drilling to break the tooth in half. And we're done with 1. Now for the tooth on upper jaw. There was more pressure up here because I assume he had to push and push and push before he can pull out the tooth. And we're done with 2. Following that was the other 2 on the other side. Thankfully, it was successful and he didn't even see my nerve so I should be okay. The nurse put gauze in my mouth and I'm ready to go. The whole procedure didn't last more than 10 minutes. More like close to the 5 minute range. It was so fast! I don't understand how other surgeons take like 45 minutes or more. I was prescribed Tylenol #3 with Codein and an antibiotic. In all seriousness, that crap don't work. 2 weeks ago, my cousin went and she got prescribed Vicodin and Amoxycillin. I really don't know why he gave me something different. But yeah, 3 hours after the the procedure the pain started to kick in. I took the pills like an hour after the surgery too, so they were not working at all!!! It hurt so bad, I was crying my eyes out. I couldn't even sleep because my mouth was pulsating with excruciating pain. After an hour or two, it started numbing down. When I woke up the next day I didn't even need to take pain killers anymore, because 1) it didn't work and 2) it doesn't even hurt anymore. There's an aching numb feeling but no more pain. I read online that the 3rd day's the worst. Here I am, and I'm fine...might look like a balloon head, but I'm fine as far as feeling goes. They say that you only feel pain in the days after surgery if there were complications or because of the way the surgeon operated. Dr. Chew is definitely really good at what does since the big chicken, me, is happy as a clam. He's funny and nice to talk to too. Get your wisdom teeth extracted here! Just request Vicodin if he gives you crappy pain killers like Tylenol #3!!! read more

OMG! He was a nice doctor. But, he was really rough with my wisdom tooth. He was very up front about having the wisdom tooth pulled out. He wasn't very gentle with the whole experience. read more
