Got my referral here at Dr George Chews office for the removal of all 4wisdom teeth. Im very happy with the process as well as the staff and awesome Dr. Chew! Very easy to take to and answered all my questions given. The entire process the day of surgery was about 30 min from check in to check out. Not too bad with the after pain and recovery what really sucked was the numbing of the gums and roof of mouth one after the other no time to prepare lol but i assure u he does it quick which is good other than that the process of the teeth removal was not to bad other than crunch crunch and tugging. Once over the aftercare was explained thoroughly and voila time to heal. Zero problems with my healing which i think was wonderful besides the huge swelling piece of cake. read more

THE +'s: 4 wisdom teeth yanked in less than 15 minutes. doc and his staff were friendly all throughout. they had a little resting area to let you wait out any anethesia (or, in my case, aftershock jitters). they sent me home with detailed instructions on how to take care of the bleeding and what to eat. got a nice stack of gauze too. THE -'s: i had to wait almost an hour because the patient before me wanted to be knocked out completely and it took her a while to go under. understandable wait though so i wasn't bothered by it. I had my follow-up appointment the Friday (6/6/2014...D-Day) after my surgery. I had all four teeth removed: top two straight molars, bottom two impacted molars. The latter two had to be surgically cut and removed. Because of all the stuff I've been reading on the Interweb about dry socket infection, especially with the risks higher on those who had impacted teeth removal, I played it extra safe the whole week. The last thing I'd want is a dry socket infection, which can last anywhere from a week to a month and a half. I heard the pain is excruciating and barely tolerable, that even pain killers might not even do the trick. Therefore, I followed all the instructions the office gave me for care. Seriously, I am so sick of porridge, jello and yogurt. Throughout the week, I felt something weird in the area where the bottom molars were extracted. I wasn't sure if those were just mouth sores or an actual infection, so I just continued to play it safe with my diet so not to get food particles stuck in the wound. Friday came around and I had an 8:15AM appointment. I arrived at 8:30AM. I waited a minute and I went in and talked to Dr. Chew. Yea...not sure what others have been saying about wait times here. It's already my third visit and I barely sit long enough to warm my chair. Turns out, I developed mouth sores in the wound area. Whew...so afraid it was an infection. He told me it was normal then he went on about mouth sores and that there's no medical explanation just yet as to how mouth sores develop. Again on this, Dr. Chew seemed like he had all the time in the world, telling me these stories. I really don't get where people see that he's unfriendly. Though it was early in the morning, there were 2-3 other patients so this is definitely not one of those "Oh. He only talks so much because you're the only patient there so early in the morning" scenarios. He even half-jokingly told me I can put topical steroid on the mouth sores since he said it works. I told him that I thought it might've been infection so I stuck to a soft-to-liquid diet. He told me to not torture myself and just eat! Haha. This guy has a sense of humor. After about five minutes, I was out the door and on my way to work. After three visits, I can say that this place is superb. The prices are affordable whether with insurance or out of pocket, in my opinion. Dr. Chew is a terrific surgeon. He removed all four of my wisdom teeth in less than 20 minutes. I went to Dr. Chew's office to get my wisdom teeth removed since my last dentist check ups revealed me having impacted teeth. Not only that, it started to push my other teeth forward and causing me pain. After looking up multiple places I finally settled on Dr. Chew since he takes the AETNA discount card and had great prices! I had to get a consultation, full panoramic x-ray, and the surgery itself done all in the morning of 06/09/14. I had all 4 (yes all of them) taken out at once so I didn't have to deal with coming back and going through the same ordeal. It was revealed that none of my wisdom teeth broke the gums so he had to cut parts open to get to it. The total price was around $1,040 or so. Now this is WITH the discount card I purchased with my health insurance. I believe if I didn't it would've costed me around $1500 which is not a bad price since other places charge so much more. He only uses local anesthesia shooting a good 6 injects per tooth extraction area. After letting it sit for a good 10 minutes I was really numb and unable to feel my lips, tongue, or even parts of my cheeks! Through the entire procedure he told me what to expect and what he was doing. I really like how he kept talking to me and letting me know what was going on and what I would hear or feel. After about 20 minutes or so all of my teeth were taken out. The assistant was very nice as was all the staff. I went home an hour later with a prescription for pain medication and antibiotics (just in case) and instructions of what to do and what NOT to do. They even set up a follow-up appointment one week after to make sure everything is fine after the surgery. To be honest I didn't feel that much pain after the anesthesia wore off. It did throb a bit because that's with all surgeries but I only took the pain pills on the day of the surgery and the day after and then no more. I had dis-solvable stitches so they went away on their own, but I was able to eat 2-3 days later some small easily chewable foods. I was able to fully eat regular foods a week later after the follow-up appointment and an okay by the doctor. He was very nice and professional with everything. He even has a little bit of humor too! All in all I'm very glad to went with Dr. Chew. I got all of my wisdom teeth pulled out and didn't go through excruciating pain (or too deep with the wallet). I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone since he's done this for 20+ years and knows what he's doing. PS: Some of the reviews explain how the front office assistants and the surgery assistants were mean/unfriendly/too professional. The entire two times I went in the staff were all very nice and helped me a lot. When I was worried about prices they were very nice and tried their best to help me. Got a Wisdom Tooth Extraction Referral from my regular dentist. Dr Steven Lee. Clean Waiting Area, So I must be used to Dr Steven Lee's bedside manners cause I felt super RAWR after my visit. Dr Chew poked me twice without warning for general anethesia and i only needed one wisdom tooth pulled. He then started cutting before I was completely numb and could feel him slice my tongue area.. =[ It is not a pleasant feeling. =[ Prescribe meds & stuff as normal, but yea I'm glad I don't have any wisdom teeth to pull out anymore cause I don't wanna come back to that. =X Overall: No bueno. :( read more

I was referred here by another dentist to remove two wisdom teeth on the bottom of my mouth. My dentist was unable to do this surgery since it was really impacted and deep into my gums. -2 star because the wait was foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr even though they only serve appoinments. I waited in the waiting area probably an hour and a half. When it got to the actual surgery (minus me waiting in the chair for him another 30 mins later), it took forever also because he had to drill it so much. So the whole process from my appointment time of 11:30am was about 3 hours. That's my only gripe. I went to Dr. Chew for two wisdom teeth extractions last week. He is a master at his profession. I was honestly doubting going through the whole procedure at his established practice because of the first impression I had of the office (dated). After meeting Dr. Chew and consulting with him my comfort level grew. He is very friendly and definitely knows what he is doing. I had my appointment at 1 pm and I was out by 2:30 pm. I had to fill out the paperwork, consultation and panoramic x-rays and finally the juiciest part; I had the bottom two wisdom teeth surgically removed. The whole experience was not painful at all very quick and all I felt was pressure, vibration and cracking of the drill on my teeth while he was trying to get those suckers out! The most painful part must have been the local anesthesia shots I received and again it was just a little pressure. The only complaint I can think of is that questions I had for after care were not really answered. The dental staff only hands you a sheet with instructions and some extra gauze (Oh! And your wisdom teeth in a little box. That was a first for me). I had to look up post operative care online for answers. The first 24 hours are painful but the strong pain meds prescribed to me made it more tolerable. I highly recommend Dr. Chew for your next extraction. Dr. Chew a as like finding a diamond!! He has done wisdom teeth extractions on my daughters and a difficult extraction on myself. His wisdom teeth extraction technique is so quick and thorough. Because of Covid I couldn't wait in the waiting room so I got to witness the procedure close up! He is a magician. His technique amazes me every time. The staff is friendly and the office clean. The staff here are amazingly sweet and understanding. But what I can't tolerate is how arrogant and rude this man is. George K. Chew is horribly rude and I do not recommend this place at all. Now I know why it takes about a month for a new patient to make a reservation. The whole process is very fast. The waiting took longer than the procedure. Dr. Chew is such a awesome oral surgeon. He is so friendly and likes to crack jokes with the patients. He is very bubbly and makes you feel comfortable. He does not pressure you to remove the tooth if you don't want to. Don't be scared by the arm straps, he won't use them on you... The worst part of the procedure is the local anesthesia. Those needles are just such an eye sore to see. After that, the surgery took 5 minutes and done. There was no pain involved whatsoever. After the surgery and one stitch, I took one pain med prescribed and that was all I needed. The assistant lead me to another room to read instructions on post surgery. Even though she left me to read the paper, another lady came in and asked me if I had any questions and I was good to go. The location was alright, was a house in middle of a busy street--parking was a nightmare. I went there a couple days ago to have an x-ray and consolation done. Did not expect to get my 4 wisdom pulled that day due to class few hours after and the next day. Else I would've ate 10 meals before hand. =P The doc was outstanding, very friendly and straight forward. The staff was alright in my opinion, the receptionist was the one that didn't seem very friendly. She scheduled us an appointment when no one was there (everyone at the office was at lunch) and got mad at us, so we had to come back in an hour. The whole procedure was quick, he numbed my mouth completely I did not feel any pain. Throughout the process my legs were shaking so much and blood was everywhere. I was referred to this oral surgeon from my dentist because the way my teeth were grown--it was "too complicated of a process they said and a surgeon would do it best". The Doc removed all 4 teeth in less then 15 minutes, very professional and quick. The operation was the easy part. Going home and getting through the pain that night was overwhelming. Didn't swell too much, currently it's still a big puffy on my cheeks. Anyways, the hardest part of all this was not it's pain, in my opinion it was the constant headaches + vomiting due to all the blood I lost. All that led to lack of sleep--I was lucky to get 2 hours of sleep before I woke up. That basically sums up my review. Oh, and did I mention? First off, God bless Dr. Chew lol. I went in this past Friday to get all of my wisdom teeth extracted. It was my first time there. As a new patient I only filled out about 5 pages of paperwork (real basic questions) I'd say I only waited about 5-7 minutes after turning in the paper work until they called me in. Dr. Chew was extremely nice, and I was very nervous but he managed to ease the nerves away by cracking jokes, he's very sweet. He was very clear and thurow with what had to be done. He made sure I was on board with everything before any work was done. once we agreed with what was going to be done the Technician went over with me the co payment I would have to pay. ( my insurance covered 80%) everything seemed fine, I payed my part and we were ready for my teeth to be pulled out. I swear it took no longer than 5-7 minutes for it all to be done. He was describing everything he was doing so I wouldn't be too worried about any scary sounds I would hear (ex. cracks, snaps). Once all 4 teeth were pulled out he stitched me right up and I was ready to leave. I was so worried about the pain of them pulling out my teeth but I honestly felt nothing. It was a lot better than I had expected, especially after everyone's stories or things you read online. It was nothing like that. no pain at all. the worse part was the tiny little sting from the shots they give to numb your mouth. but that little sting is VERY tolerable, not bad at all. I came here and i was so scared. And Dr. Chew had a nice chat with me so relaxed me a bit and I started to trust him. The surgery was unbelievable fast! I put on my iPod and AFTER ONE SONG he was done already! He took out my impacted wisdom tooth ( the one required cutting and breaking the tooth in half) but he did it all in 3 minutes. I was referred to Dr. Chew to have my top wisdom teeth extracted. I was afraid to go through a general anesthesia procedure again, like when I had my bottom wisdom teeth removed many years ago. I called Dr. Chew's office and I was told that he uses local anesthesia. I was relieved. The day of the appointment arrived. They had me fill out some paperwork and waited about 20 minutes. I met Dr. Chew and he examined my wisdom teeth. He was very friendly and took his time to answer all my questions! After taking care of my co-payment I was taken to another room where I got the local anesthesia. The needles poking the roof of the mouth hurt a little, but it's way better than full anesthesia. After about 20 minutes my jaw was numb. Dr. Chew started on one side. I barely felt 3 pulls, side by side. After about 30 seconds he said: one down, one to go. I was like: "What? That fast?" He then came to the other side, again, I barely felt 3 pulls (side to side), and he said: "All done." Two minutes - the actual extractions took about two minutes! I told Dr. Chew: "I'm amazed. I just had my lower left wisdom tooth extracted, and I must say Dr Chew did an excellent job. He's great at explaining everything, from the reasons of extraction to how the whole procedure would go. As for the extraction itself, the way he went about doing it was just the result of an old hand at work. I reckon he's probably done at least tens of thousands of extractions already. When I tried to ask the other dentist opposite my office to extract my wisdom teeth, He said he need a 3-4 hour surgery and cost wiould be above $500, it's pretty scary to hear all sorts of other warnings. But after I gent to Dr Chew, It only took him within one minute without my attention to extract my teeth. When he told me" it's done and you can go home" I was so surprised. He's an Amazing Doctor ! And it's only cost over one hundred something I couldn't remember. Plus he's very kindly talking with me and he use distraction and Humor in Stress Reduction. Had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out by Dr Chew. He's a very knowledgeable dentist that works very efficiently and very quickly. My appointment could have taken no longer than 20 minutes but since I told him I was a dental student, we ended up having a very friendly chat for another 30-40 minutes. The only somewhat negative thing I can think of is that he decided not to stitch me up after the surgery. I'm sure if I asked him to, he would have done it. It just felt weird having my gums open like that. I thought I was at an increased risk for a dry socket (infection) but I was fine. Dude this guy pulled my two lower wisdom teeth out in less than five minutes. I was literally in and out... Got the local anesthesia and the Doc was gentle and talked to me throughout the process. After the procedure he sat down and went through all the precautions, do's, & don'ts. Of course I didn't listen to him when he said stay away from solid food for at least two days.... So the healing process was a bit longer which I didn't really care for as long as I had my Vicodin and food. ^_^ Around $750ish for those two teeth without insurance. Excellent oral-surgeon. He put local anesthesia on me and started extracting my two bottom wisdom teeth. Probably the most pain you'll feel in this procedure is just the needles being injected into your gums to numb you. I hate the feeling of having so many tools shoved inside your mouth and especially operating them in there. My right wisdom tooth took about 7 minutes to remove. My left wisdom tooth only took like 3 minutes. While extracting it, your teeth will pressured. Office receptionists were cool. Don't know why people were complaining about them lol. They were informative of what I went through. Dr. Chew and his assistants were awesome throughout the procedure. After surgery, he'll give you a recovery information and you just read and follow it. He prescribed me painkillers and antibiotics. All I really needed was one tablet of painkiller throughout my recovery, and finish all the antibiotics. I felt the most pain on Day 1 of recovery (right after I got home from surgery). That was the same night I took my only painkiller medicine. Day 3 your mouth will start feeling weird. Days 4-7 your mouth will feel "annoying". Oh, and there might be a chance that you can get trismus after extraction (difficulty of opening your mouth wide). After a week, I was able to eat anything again, including hard food. As I'm typing this, it's been almost 4 weeks since I got them removed and now I feel like I "never had them removed" in the first place :) On recovery, it just really depends on how well you can follow directions. Don't be a fool and eat lobsters or crabs the same day you had them extracted, lol. Emphasis on rinsing with salt water, Sleeping with 2-3 pillows, and eating some really soft food...for about a week. Overall, I definitely recommend Dr. Chew. Wisdom teeth extraction pain is overrated. Hahah. read more

I love Dr. Chew! I didn't realize the irony of his name until later. It was the blanket that makes this place a 5. As they were preparing to remove my wisdom teeth right after my consultation (my first surgery!), they asked me if I was cold and covered me with a warm, plaid blanket before injecting the local anesthetic. The reassuring warmth and the staff's gentle conversation calmed me as I was injected and the effects of the medication slowly sank in, which caused me to gag and begin hyperventilating as my heart rate increased. The staff immediately rushed to my side and held me by the shoulder, instructing me to breathe through my nose. I calmed down quickly and was able to undergo the procedure without an issue, with Dr. Chew narrating what was coming next so I could prepare for any pain or pressure. Less than 15 minutes later, I sat in an armchair waiting for the bleeding to subside, my cheeks filled with gauze pads, and held onto the blanket. The assistants gave me careful instructions, making sure all my questions were answered before I left. I received a prescription for painkillers and antibiotics, as well as additional gauze pads and a sheet of instructions for self-care. I later came in for a 2 minute follow-up, and took a picture with the dentist (: It was a good experience on many levels. The office and instrumentation is clean, the assistants kind, and the dentist personable and yes, slightly goofy and fun. But more than that, it was the blanket that cinched it for me- given unasked, it reminded me of home amidst the sterile backdrop of the clinic, and symbolizes the warm welcome I felt the entire time I was there. Worst place ever!!! i just called them to schedule an appointment for my 12 year old daughter because she was referred by children's dental funzone to be seen by a oral surgeon. so after calling continuously since Friday from about 1:00 pm til today at 10:55 am i have gotten a voice recording saying i was calling after hours! Really? so finally they answer, not only was the woman who answered the phone rude she basically says we have to wait until approval by the insurance. But what she wasn't understanding is that as long as we have a REFERRAL the insurance will approve. then she asked what procedure needed to be done, so i explained there was no procedure listed because that's what they needed them to determine. so after explaining over and over, she then says well she needs a CT and its $155 your insurance won't cover that..Hmm how does she know what my insurance will cover if i haven't even gave her my insurance info. Honestly for a 1st time caller that was a bad experience.!! Never again! Another referral please!! read more

As for all the others who say he is expensive....shop around because he was cheaper than the other places I had called. Pulling out wisdoms isn't cheap. Anyways, I had a terrible pain on one side of my cheek and I thought oh no....i waited too long and my wisdoms pulled and now they are giving me pain. My cheek was soo swollen for 3 days I couldn't really look inside to see what the issue was. I had gone to my dentist 2 years ago and they informed me that I had 4 wisdoms that would need to be removed. Me being a chicken wanted to wait as long as possible. Recently, my lower teeth seemed to slightly shift so I decided to go back for xrays-my wisdoms on top were coming in and my bottom two were impacted (below the jawbone) and a month later with this swelling, I thought ok....my body is telling me its time. I called Dr. Chew's office and told them of my swollen cheek and they scheduled me early in the morning because they were squishing me into their already busy schedule....all the other places wouldnt be able to do it for at least another month. So at this point I figured...dont be a chicken and JUST DO IT. So i scheduled my appointment. Morning of-I am terrified of needles. I mean really scared. I'm 22 and I had my Mom hold my hand.-thats how scared I was. I was freaking out because I had already googled and done research on how they were going to extract my impacted teeth and how they would have to drill a hole in my jawbone. I wanted to be knocked out, but everyone kept reassuring me that local aesthesia would be the best option. To be honest the shots werent too bad, but I kept shaking uncontrollably- I think I was just really cold because they gave me a blanket and I stopped. OH and my 3 days of swelling? Dr. Chew later tells me I bit a chunk out of my cheek in my sleep. He tells me that that must have really hurt implying that removing my wisdoms would be less painful. I still have my doubts as the images from google are still engrained in my mind. The extraction-It happened sooo fast! I honestly can not tell you how quickly it happened. He didn't tug around to too much and it was like he pulled out each one first try. I didn't even feel it. So he was very efficient and not rough at all. He showed me this drill and told me I might feel some water coming from it so I wouldnt be afraid and that there would be no surprises. I didnt feel anything or even drilling. I'm kind of confused because I dont even have a hole where the teeth used to be I just have an incision mark on my gums-talk about a CLEAN surgery. Post Op-I was talking (like my usual blabber mouth self) about 6 hours after the surgery as the pain wasn't too bad as long as I took the meds and kept icing. (btw I only took half the dose of the hyrdrocodone each time.) And on the 3rd day I was taking advil only 2x a day. Also I did not even get any bruising on my face and on the 4th day I am not taking meds for pain since I dont have any pain. Also, I thought I'd need stitches, but he said he's found people heal better without them. Overall, Dr. Chew was awesome. He's friendly and nice. He even joked around to make me feel more at ease about the needles/shots. I've heard some horror stories and my family, boyfriend, and bff were all suprised at how well I was doing. They were all like...YOU WERE LUCKY mine hurt alot worse and you seem normal! lol I guess wisdom extraction could be a painful experience...however I wouldn't know thanks to Dr. Chew! I can not tell you how happy I am to get them removed and that its finally over! read more

Great experience with Dr. Chew. Very personable guy who obviously loves what he does for a living. Felt like he really cared about my comfort. I had a two wisdom teeth pulled, one of which was very complicated and Dr. Chew walked me through the entire process. Very quick and efficient, once he started working on me it only took him about 10 minutes to remove both teeth. I consider Dr. Chew to be at or ABOVE Genius Level !!! While he laughed when I suggested such - Dr. Chew took a very complicated issue. (uber-tricky impacted wisdom tooth) And made it seem like kid's play. (for someone this skilled it was kid's play) This is what the great Oral Surgeons do - they make difficult things look simple. I was referred to Dr. Chew by outstanding Northeast L.A. DDS William Lewzcuk - both Dr. Lewczuk and Dr. Chew are dentists/oral surgeons-of-choice at Optimist Boys' Home. Quotation from "Dr. William," as we know him in Northeast L.A.: "Dr. Chew IS fabulous - he's is as-good-as-it-gets, and you'd be very, VERY lucky if it's Dr. Chew performing this particular oral surgery - it'd be an easy one to screw up, do everything you can to line the stars up on this one." Meaning my insurance and co-pays synching up with Dr. Chew's practice. Fortunately and I do mean FORTUNATELY - it all clicked. Dr. Chew's office is in a beautiful stretch and area - convenient to everything - I came by way of both the 210 E and 2 South - it's near Costco's in Alhambra FYI. It's off of one of my favorite streets, Huntington Drive Blvd. - Dr. Chew can be easily reached for those of you in South Pas, Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley - Northeast Los Angeles, etc. If Dr. Chew was in EGYPT, my advice to you would be get on any plane out of Tom Bradley/LAX and GET TO HIM. He's that good, he's in a league by himself. Modest-to-a-fault, great office demeanor and attitude - great staff - everything is explained. Wonderful, wonderful experience - from the moment I called for an appointment to the consultation last Friday to today's extraction. He wants feedback, he asks you for feedback, he allows you to voice concerns and talk - and he LISTENS. -Any idea how HARD that is with Oral Surgeons, in general?!!!? This office is modestly lit for patient comfort, clean as a whistle, beyond comfortable, you'll think you're in own living room and there's a fish-bowl! Fish! There's fish! Dr. Chew gave me just enough Novocaine so that I felt nothing - just a pinch or two from the injection. My comfort was upper-most, was that too much water (to clean out the area he was working on) - was the noise okay with me (from the high-speed drill)? Let Dr. Chew know if there was anything he could do to make this an even better office experience/extraction. He spoke to me at length prior to the actual wisdom tooth extraction - he made certain I was comfortable, settled-in, settled-down. He had a sense I was terrified going in - like you oral surgeons and surgery, injections, drills, trays and tools scare the heck outta me! Thus spent EXTRA time making certain I was ready. The kindness, the consideration and the patience were beyond anything I've ever experienced from an Oral Surgeon or Dentist. In fact from any doctor or surgeon I've ever been to - Dr. Chew rules the roost. And it's what I've come to expect out of both Dr. Chew and referring dentist Dr. William Lewzcuk in Northeast Los Angeles. I consider these two the "Batman and Robin," or "Superman/Ironman" of CA dentists, and I'm disappointed I can't give both MORE than five stars. You will never, ever, have a better oral surgeon than George K. Chew, M.D. Praise God, Buddha et al for Oral Surgeons THIS good and THIS kind. I must say, this place is amazing! Came in to remove my wisdom and was in and out in a jiffy!

I definitely wasn't looking forward to removing my last two wisdom teeth. Especially since one was completely horizontal and I had to be referred to an oral surgeon by my dentist. SIGH. But it had to be done so I sucked it up and went! Turns out I had nothing to worry about! Dr. Chew's office looks like a little house along Garfield Ave. Most of the dentists and doctors offices on this part of Garfield look like little houses so even though he may have a big sign that says "GEORGE K CHEW DDS" outside on the lawn, it's still easy to miss. There's only a few parking spaces but I had no problem going in at 1PM on a Tuesday. The alleyway is small though so be careful going in and out, only one car fits. The facilities were pretty nice, very clean, didn't have that dental office smell. Very nice waiting area with lots of seats. The staff was friendly and nice. They explained how much they would be charging, how much my insurance was covering, what my insurance might not cover, and such. Very very polite staff. I found it a little odd that none of his staff was Asian considering the area, but hey, whatever works. They don't take all insurances though so make sure you ask about it before you go! Dr. Chew was completely awesome. I mean, I would recommend him to anyone who needed to go to oral surgeon. He was friendly and polite and when he found out I was studying marine biology (had a text book with me while I was waiting), he told me about his experience with marine biologists on his fishing trips and even taught me to built a carbon reactor and protein skimmer for a saltwater aquarium while we were waiting for the anesthetic to kick in. Very friendly and totally awesome. And, like the other reviewers say, he was quick. Two impacted wisdom teeth out in less than 10 minutes. He even had to drill and crack one of them and it was still done very quickly. He made sure to let me know what to expect as he was doing telling me what sounds I'll be hearing so I don't freak out. Didn't feel anything but the pushing and tugging on my teeth which just felt like a little bit of pressure. When I complimented him on his skill afterwards he let me know he had been doing this for 23 years. He's been doing this since I was born! When I was done he asked me if I wanted codeine for Vicodin for the pain and gave me a prescription for a painkiller and an antibiotic (Z-Pack). I left with a care sheet, two packs of gauze and some of those blue napkin thingies. I have a follow-up next week (which I thought was interesting considering I've had 4 teeth removed for my braces and my other two wisdom teeth out and I've never had a follow-up). My daughter just had 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Chew. She was a very nervous. She's 17. She turned green at the sight of the needle which made the office staff a tad bothered. Dr. Chew is apparently a busy man. She eventually calmed down and the surgery was a success! Dr. Chew is straight to the point, no hassle and all about getting the job done. read more

Definitely recommend Dr. Chew! He has many years of experience and knows exactly what he is doing. I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed and the process was very fast! I was very nervous and the thought of being awake for the procedure didn't help. However, the staff was very kind and the doctor was very funny! My first two visits were ok, the doctor does get very busy. I had read reviews mentioning how rude the staff can be or the vibe they get from the doctor. But as someone who does get very busy, I think it makes sense that some days he might be under too much stress or pressure. Anyway, if you're looking for someone who knows what they are doing I would say come to see Dr. Chew. After the procedure they give you a handout with information on how to take care of yourself. Throughout my whole time being their patient, I had doubts about the receptionist because I felt rushed and not taken seriously by any of them. The appointment for consult was okay but I had to pay out of pocket for an MRI due to my impacted teeth. The day of my surgery, I was absolutely horrified but Dr. chew made sure I was aware of was he was going to do and asked me if I was okay. So overall it's a great practice but I would never want to go through the process again. read more

Not sure whom I spoke to this morning. I needed a consultation appointment for my 8 year old son. The person on the phone was plain and not friendly. She told me their next appointment will be in October. What the heck? For a consultation on a 8 year old. She didn't even bother to work on a time. It's a shame we refer our patients to this place. Been calling for two days and no one answers the phone, even when the office is supposed to be open. Don't bother!!

I just had my top wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Chew. My overall experience was ok. However, I felt like the procedure was rushed and that made me even more nervous. Instructions were handed to me in a ziplock bag. The assistants did not explain or say anything much right after. Would've liked the instructions reviewed with me. I did ask the assistant how long will it bleed for and she said it's not bleeding . If it was bleeding we wouldn't let you leave. That made no sense because my gauze was filled with blood and I could obviously taste it. Lol Not very smart perhaps? read more

Dr. Chew is funny and a great sense of humor. In addition to his great personality, he was very professional. While prepping me for my molar extraction he would let me know what to expect and always apologized if the numbing shots hurt. The office staff were all great. However the wait time did take a while, but then again they did take me in as an emergency and I am extremely grateful for that. read more

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. Two of them only the crown was removed. I was extremely paranoid about the process since I was going to be awake. I dreamt about holes being drilled into my mouth. When the day came, the actual removal process was about 20 minutes. I didn't feel a thing. I'm not sure why people need to be put under for this. It's just been bleeding but not too bad. This was about 100x more pleasant than the bar exam. read more
