Atmosphere = 10. Perfect old school neighborhood diner. Enjoyed counter service and chatting w/ the regulars. Service = 10. The gals working the counter were so nice and friendly. Food= 6. I asked for "well done" on bacon and potatoes. Both came undercooked. Bacon was pure fat and requested a redo, which they handled very graciously. The second run of the bacon was perfect. Cook needs to discover salt and pepper. Greek omelette was delicious. Coffee= 3. The coffee was hot. That is all I will say about that.

I really like this diner. It's a nice environment, menu that hits all the diner greatest hits, great people that work as servers and in the parts we customers don't see. A clean bathroom is always a plus. Parking is always tight but doable. So why is the coffee so horrible? It looks and tastes like brown water. And it costs $3.50. Really, keep the price the same but up the coffee jams? There are so many coffee options you could consider. You have good tea, so why not tasty coffee?

Went to this little gem today for breakfast. The food and service were so good. I had the Breakfast Sandwich with egg, cheese, a side of bacon and crispy homefries. The egg was cooked perfectly on lightly toasted bread. The potatoes had the perfect amount of crispness and the bacon was done but not burnt. Everything came out steaming hot and fast. Our server was super friendly and very nice. The diner is super cute and had a very at home welcoming vibe. I would definitely come back.

Saw this place online and immediately thought we need to try it. We went on a Saturday around 9:00 am. Place is vibrant and has an amazing feel. There was a wait, but the locals were welcoming to us. We waited about 30 mins for a table and the wait was well worth it. The wait staff was friendly and helpful as we had questions since it was our first time. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs. It's not on the menu, but it's a secret special. The gravy was definitely the star, the eggs were cooked perfectly. We will be back and we can't wait.

Wow! This was some of the best diner food ever! The food was cooked perfectly and none of it was greasy! My eggs and hash browns were delicious. My husband enjoyed his omelette stuffed with meat. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was a little chilly due to the Ohio winter weather and the patrons opening and closing the door. We will most definitely be back! I would like to try some of their sandwiches for lunch.

While working in Beechwold I love grabbing lunch at George's Beechwold Diner. This time it was their club sandwich but instead of the usual pretzel bun, I had them put it on wheat. The onion rings were an added treat. Always friendly service there, it's a great place for good diner food.

The food is just classic and great. The interior is such a perfect diner vibe. Sat at the bar with my boyfriend and staff was friendly. Always refilling our coffee and checking in on us. Their omelettes and home fries are so delicious. The biscuit on the side was super yummy too. So fluffy and buttery.

I love a good diner, and George's fit the bill. It's a little local place off of Indianola in Beechwold. Parking out front and around the back, but between George's and Portia's, it gets full! They have counter seating and booths. There was a wait for booths this morning, but you could plop right down at the counter, so counter it was! There are a lot of quirky signs and mismatched coffee cups to keep you entertained. Breakfast is all day, which is a proper diner must! Since we went in at lunch-ish time, I had the fish sandwich and home fries. I thought it was a pretty solid fried fish sandwich, and really loved that it home fries were an option! The ones here are just the way I like them - slices with crunchy bits. Standard diner coffee - black and strong, with little creamer pods on the table. There were a lot of options in the menu, and plenty of specials up on the board by the door, so if you're in the mood for some simple breakfast options, I think this is a solid place to try!

What a great find! We were yelping for a nearby diner, and George's came up with high marks. I am from Columbus and have driven up and down Indianola so many times and have never noticed this diner. We parked up front (only a few spaces) but saw many people drive to the back for parking. Seating is open--just seat yourself at any table that is clean. Our server stopped by and got us coffees and then took our orders a few minutes later. I got the meat lovers omelet. It was so good! It came with hash browns and toast. They don't have my go to raisin toast, but had cinnamon toast. For those who want brunch at a locally owned establishment (i.e., not a chain), this is it! We will definitely be stopping by again. I am going to try and get here for lunch one day. They close at 3pm and so not available for dinner :-(

I ordered a grilled chilled cheese to be safe because I suspected the quality of other items would be questionable. Unfortunately, the grilled cheese is made with one single slice of Kraft American Singles. Not even real cheese and it wasn't fully melted. The fries are frozen crinkle cut fries, also somehow cold. The bacon was gross, tastes dry and just low quality, like microwave kind? I tried my son's kid waffle which was surprisingly decent. Hash-browns were okay just unseasoned. Overall would not recommend if you're looking for quality ingredients but if you're looking for a greasy spoon you're in business. The staff was nice, probably the only positive for me.

Yelp Elite Event at The Mercury Diner -- Come Hungry, Leave Happy!…read more WOW... just WOW! First and foremost, a HUGE shout-out to Jasmine and Hanna for putting on one heck of a Yelp Elite event tonight! You ladies absolutely crushed it! Now let's talk about the food... because that's why you're really here, right? Everything I tried was packed with flavor, but a few things really stood out. The homemade English muffins -- YES, homemade! And you could tell. They were fantastic. The fresh avocado smash -- basically guacamole, but calling it avocado smash somehow makes it sound even better! Either way, it was fresh, flavorful, and seriously delicious. Those crispy potatoes -- perfectly seasoned with that beautiful crispy exterior. I could have eaten a whole plate of them! And then came the mimosas... OH. MY. GOODNESS. These weren't your average brunch mimosas. They were next level! I started with the blackberry, and I think that one was my favorite. Then I tried the strawberry basil, followed by the Martian, which was pineapple-based. Let's just say... the bartender knew what they were doing! Speaking of the bartenders, they were absolutely fabulous--friendly, welcoming, and keeping everyone's glasses full. Overall, this was a fantastic night with great food, incredible drinks, and an awesome group of people. This is exactly why I love being part of the Yelp Elite community! And I'm not done with The Mercury Diner yet... Next time, I'm bringing the blogger camera and doing a full-on Brian's Big Bite food review! So stay tuned, Mercury Diner... I'm coming back hungry! First time my wife and daughter stopped before our daughter headed overseas for two years in the Peace Corps. Scotty''s is super close and convenient to the airport. Scotty learned of the imminent departure and came with cookies and treats for the long flight! And now this morning it was another airport drop off. It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation.
