One is vegan ! Can't tell which though
belinda n.

Parking wasn't the most seamless, I had to drive north on Breed then make an immediate right like I was going to BOFA then found a spot east of Georges. I felt like a cheeseburger so went to Yelp & rushed the 2 miles here ! Cheeseburger was yummy, not a thin & charred patty, chopped iceberg vs shredded or leaves; perfect amount of sauce. Chili cheese fries were delish They also have vegan cheeseburgers ! Average price; big portions, professional & hospitable staff. I actually phoned in the order so don't know how long the order woulda taken if I hadn't. Will absolutely return & definitely recommend!

George's Burger Stand is one of the best small business burgers ever. It's been around since forever and it shows why. They have dine-in area where you can look on Cesar Chavez Ave while chowing down your food. Only downside about George's Burger Stand is the limited parking areas. Literally only a couple spots or the street curb. Food: I love their Chili Cheese Fries and Burgers. Both tasted great and I love how they add onions to add an extra kick to it. One of the best burger spots in Los Angeles!

Pastrami Burger $12.99

What I Ordered: -Pastrami Burger $12.99 I've passed by George's Burger Stand on Cesar E Chavez Ave many times and saw the George's sign, which is so iconic. I've always been curious about the food. I always order food that's a part of a restaurant's name. Coming to George's, I knew I had to order a burger of some kind. I asked the gentleman behind the counter about what I should order and he immediately said without hesitation, the Pastrami Burger. I was instantly sold! I didn't arrive on an empty stomach as I ate some food at Guisado's beforehand. When in Rome! Speaking of Guisado's, I read online that the same family that owns Guisado's also owns George's Burger Stand. I knew going in that it (George's) would be good, but I didn't know how good it would really be. I love burgers and pastrami! For me, that's a winning combination! The burger was so delicious and cooked to perfection. The pastrami was good pastrami as well. I really didn't expect the pastrami from a burger joint to have such good pastrami. Since, I ate previously I skipped the fries and other dishes. I will definitely be back soon to get another Pastrami Burger and try some of those made to order and beer battered Onion Rings.

Western burger + small order onion rings

I found George's Burger Stand after accidentally finding it on the YouTube channel from the former Worth It guys Andrew, Steven, and Adam. (They have since launched a new channel after the Buzzfeed series.) At any rate I was dying for something different and the onion rings at George's Burger Stand looked SO GOOD that I had to run out and try it for myself. Upon arriving, I quickly decided that I wanted a Western Burger (bacon, 1 onion ring and BBQ sauce), a small order of onion rings and a Sprite. The food took a little bit of time, but that's ok because you know it's freshly made. There's a nice covered patio where you can eat your food, and if you are a solo PLEASE do yourself a favor and get the small order of onion rings. Any larger and you won't be able to finish it. The burger is pretty delicious and not drowning in sauce, which I like. I had to ask for a side of ranch, since ranch and onion rings go so well together. The onion rings are DELICIOUS and so different from the breaded kind you get from the frozen food section of the grocery store. These are made out of a beer batter, and CRISP. The coating doesn't fall apart like all of the other onion rings you have tried. It's crisp and you can bite it, like an apple. My meal was $24, but definitely try this place you haven't!!

Georges Burger French Fries

One of my personal favorites. This is like a cross between Tams and In N Out. The meat is perfectly seasoned and grilled. The cheese is thick and melty and not too many condiments. The fries are also perfection fried to a golden brown. It's one of the old school California burgers I've joints that has its own flavor. Service is great and there's a few benches to eat. It's pricier than other spots but it's definitely worth the experience.

Yelp led us to George's for a late lunch yesterday. What a fantastic adventure! Walk up window service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was spotlessly clean inside and had the cutest outside seating area. We had pastrami burgers, George's burger, fries, onion rings, Cherry Coke, and a chocolate shake. Food was quickly made to order. The plentiful pastrami's peppery seasoning was the righteous flavor punch we were craving. George's cheeseburger is a classic, 1950's style cheeseburger with fresh, flavorful veggies. Fries were crispy, tender and came with a zingy fry sauce and spicy ketchup. Don't sleep on the pillowy onion rings and their Ranch-meets-Tzatziki sauce. The hand made chocolate shake with mounds of whip cream was of an ice cream shop quality. As mentioned in other reviews, George's cherry Coke isn't the syrupy mass produce variety. Instead, George's cherry Coke is a subtle creation that dances with the cherry flavor.

Hubby was craving for burgers and he said that Yelp suggested this as one of the burger places he should check out. Photos and reviews show that they're highly rated; so of course, we had to come and check it out. If in & out and Tommy's got together, George's would be their love child. Per my son, they're masters of burgers and chili cheese. My son ordered their chili cheeseburger and we got an XL chili cheese fries. The kids LOVED it! I got a cheeseburger with over easy eggs on top. WINNING!!! Overall, great burger and fries! This place would be great for late night munchies unfortunately they're only open til 9pm. Regardless, we would definitely come again!!

Bacon Avocado cheeseburger was so delicious! Didn't disappoint and asada fries were top! Will definitely be back.

Out of all the mom and pops burger stands. This has to be one of the bests. Better tasting beef burgers and hand craft quality. Not another run of the mill frozen patty establishment. Not to mention the excellent customer service I received . It also have that old school hamburger stand vibe like back in the day. The only thing I don't like was the surrounding areas. The limited or no parking. I would recommend phoning ahead and just picking up. I parked at the bank cause that's all I could find. But I was t there for long. I decide to take my food to go instead of eating there. I also got some tater tots and onion rings. Both really good. Definitely one of my top 10 burgers now. Sorry no food pics I got home and snuffed that burger like I haven't eaten in days.

We needed a good greasy meal and found this burger joint. The service was great! We ordered 2 combos and it was close to $40. The cheeseburgers were well seasoned. I was missing thr juice from the burger as the bun and the burger were a little dry but still very good! The fries were well done, crispy and crunchy on the outside and potatoey on the inside. The onion rings were beer battered and a bit oily but you could tell they were hand battered and made to order. Delish! The chocolate shake hit the spot and made me feel like a kid again. We didn't eat here but took our food to go.

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. Tasty burgers and a must try for sure if your around! Cheers!

The…read morequality of the beef along with the fact that you can customize the style of the burger instead of being limited to a single option stood out to me the first time I had it. Whether you prefer a classic smash burger with the golden brown crispy edges, the "slim thick" for the times you want more beef, or the larger DH burger for a heartier bite, it feels like the menu offers something for everyone. I went on a typical weekday lunch with my friend, who was craving a top tier burger when Amboy was consistently popping up on lists all over online. It highlighted fresh, house made ingrediants down to the actual patty itself. The beef had a rich, juicy taste without being overly greasy, and every topping felt intentional instead of just piled on. The bun held everything together, making it a balanced start to finish product. I ultimately got the slim thick on the classic Amboy burger for roughly $18 which might seem expensive for a burger. However, you can definitely taste the quality. One thing to note is that seating is very limited. If you plan on arriving on a weekend or holiday, expect not having seating available as inside only had a few spots and right outside had just barely more. Thankfully, Amboy is just as good as a takeout option. I ordered my meal to go, and I was pleasantly surprised on how well everything held up on the trip home. The burger stayed together well with the fries still being crispy with a fluffy interior. Amboy delivers exactly what I was looking for in a great burger: high-quality ingredients, thoughtful customization, and consistently delicious food. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.
