    Georges Burger

After seeing George's Burger Stand on the Andrew, Steven, and Adam show on YouTube, I decided to give the place a try. First off, be aware of parking and traffic as the area is crammed. The restaurant itself is small and has plenty of seats. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. The lady who took my order didn't greet me and she was blunt with me, but it could have just been an off day for her. The man who made my order was nice, professional, and asked if I wanted any sauces. I ordered the George's Burger Combo with an Almond Milk Horchata. My partner ordered the Beyond Avocado Burger with Onion Rings and a Lemonade. The order did not take long, about a 10 minute wait. The burger itself was fresh and tasted real. From the buns to the veggies to the meat itself, it all tasted good. The burger was hearty and filling without leaving you feeling tired or gross. The only downside about the burger is that it could use more sauce, I had a hard time tasting it with each bite. The fries were good and were seasoned lightly; they had a nice crisp and soft interior. I never had Horchata with Almond Milk and to my surprise, it was great. Not too sweet and it was refreshing. Their sauces are made in house and I tried their ranch. Appearance wise, the ranch definitely stood out compared to typical fast food ranch. The ranch was thick, creamy, and paired nicely with the fries and onion rings. The onion rings were what I really wanted to try. The onion rings are made fresh and they use beer batter. They have a nice golden color and crunch when you bite into them. Unlike other onion rings, these ones snapped with each bite and the onion itself didn't drag out nor was it too soft. You can definitely taste the beer flavor and it paired nicely with the onion. My only complaint is that some areas of the onion ring had too much batter so at times it would just be a bit mush. The onion rings weren't overly greasy either. My partner who is vegetarian said it was the best vegetarian burger she has ever had. She loved the fries and onion rings as well. Overall, a great little food joint to go to every now and then. If you want something fresh with some variety, definitely check out George's Burger Stand. I also heard their Bean and Cheese Burrito is really good as well. I will be coming back sometime in the future.

One is vegan ! Can't tell which though

Parking wasn't the most seamless, I had to drive north on Breed then make an immediate right like I was going to BOFA then found a spot east of Georges. I felt like a cheeseburger so went to Yelp & rushed the 2 miles here ! Cheeseburger was yummy, not a thin & charred patty, chopped iceberg vs shredded or leaves; perfect amount of sauce. Chili cheese fries were delish They also have vegan cheeseburgers ! Average price; big portions, professional & hospitable staff. I actually phoned in the order so don't know how long the order woulda taken if I hadn't. Will absolutely return & definitely recommend!

George's Burger Stand is one of the best small business burgers ever. It's been around since forever and it shows why. They have dine-in area where you can look on Cesar Chavez Ave while chowing down your food. Only downside about George's Burger Stand is the limited parking areas. Literally only a couple spots or the street curb. Food: I love their Chili Cheese Fries and Burgers. Both tasted great and I love how they add onions to add an extra kick to it. One of the best burger spots in Los Angeles!

    Pastrami Burger $12.99

What I Ordered: -Pastrami Burger $12.99 I've passed by George's Burger Stand on Cesar E Chavez Ave many times and saw the George's sign, which is so iconic. I've always been curious about the food. I always order food that's a part of a restaurant's name. Coming to George's, I knew I had to order a burger of some kind. I asked the gentleman behind the counter about what I should order and he immediately said without hesitation, the Pastrami Burger. I was instantly sold! I didn't arrive on an empty stomach as I ate some food at Guisado's beforehand. When in Rome! Speaking of Guisado's, I read online that the same family that owns Guisado's also owns George's Burger Stand. I knew going in that it (George's) would be good, but I didn't know how good it would really be. I love burgers and pastrami! For me, that's a winning combination! The burger was so delicious and cooked to perfection. The pastrami was good pastrami as well. I really didn't expect the pastrami from a burger joint to have such good pastrami. Since, I ate previously I skipped the fries and other dishes. I will definitely be back soon to get another Pastrami Burger and try some of those made to order and beer battered Onion Rings.

Western burger + small order onion rings

I found George's Burger Stand after accidentally finding it on the YouTube channel from the former Worth It guys Andrew, Steven, and Adam. (They have since launched a new channel after the Buzzfeed series.) At any rate I was dying for something different and the onion rings at George's Burger Stand looked SO GOOD that I had to run out and try it for myself. Upon arriving, I quickly decided that I wanted a Western Burger (bacon, 1 onion ring and BBQ sauce), a small order of onion rings and a Sprite. The food took a little bit of time, but that's ok because you know it's freshly made. There's a nice covered patio where you can eat your food, and if you are a solo PLEASE do yourself a favor and get the small order of onion rings. Any larger and you won't be able to finish it. The burger is pretty delicious and not drowning in sauce, which I like. I had to ask for a side of ranch, since ranch and onion rings go so well together. The onion rings are DELICIOUS and so different from the breaded kind you get from the frozen food section of the grocery store. These are made out of a beer batter, and CRISP. The coating doesn't fall apart like all of the other onion rings you have tried. It's crisp and you can bite it, like an apple. My meal was $24, but definitely try this place you haven't!!

One of my personal favorites. This is like a cross between Tams and In N Out. The meat is perfectly seasoned and grilled. The cheese is thick and melty and not too many condiments. The fries are also perfection fried to a golden brown. It's one of the old school California burgers I've joints that has its own flavor. Service is great and there's a few benches to eat. It's pricier than other spots but it's definitely worth the experience.

Yelp led us to George's for a late lunch yesterday. What a fantastic adventure! Walk up window service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was spotlessly clean inside and had the cutest outside seating area. We had pastrami burgers, George's burger, fries, onion rings, Cherry Coke, and a chocolate shake. Food was quickly made to order. The plentiful pastrami's peppery seasoning was the righteous flavor punch we were craving. George's cheeseburger is a classic, 1950's style cheeseburger with fresh, flavorful veggies. Fries were crispy, tender and came with a zingy fry sauce and spicy ketchup. Don't sleep on the pillowy onion rings and their Ranch-meets-Tzatziki sauce. The hand made chocolate shake with mounds of whip cream was of an ice cream shop quality. As mentioned in other reviews, George's cherry Coke isn't the syrupy mass produce variety. Instead, George's cherry Coke is a subtle creation that dances with the cherry flavor.

Hubby was craving for burgers and he said that Yelp suggested this as one of the burger places he should check out. Photos and reviews show that they're highly rated; so of course, we had to come and check it out. If in & out and Tommy's got together, George's would be their love child. Per my son, they're masters of burgers and chili cheese. My son ordered their chili cheeseburger and we got an XL chili cheese fries. The kids LOVED it! I got a cheeseburger with over easy eggs on top. WINNING!!! Overall, great burger and fries! This place would be great for late night munchies unfortunately they're only open til 9pm. Regardless, we would definitely come again!!

Bacon Avocado cheeseburger was so delicious! Didn't disappoint and asada fries were top! Will definitely be back.

Out of all the mom and pops burger stands. This has to be one of the bests. Better tasting beef burgers and hand craft quality. Not another run of the mill frozen patty establishment. Not to mention the excellent customer service I received . It also have that old school hamburger stand vibe like back in the day. The only thing I don't like was the surrounding areas. The limited or no parking. I would recommend phoning ahead and just picking up. I parked at the bank cause that's all I could find. But I was t there for long. I decide to take my food to go instead of eating there. I also got some tater tots and onion rings. Both really good. Definitely one of my top 10 burgers now. Sorry no food pics I got home and snuffed that burger like I haven't eaten in days.

We stopped in on a Sunday around 11:30, no line and very quick service! Finished eating and left around 12:05 so we must've lucked out with no line. We got two double cheese burgers and the loaded fries. The burger had impressively thin patties with a really nice char on the meat skirt, well seasoned, and perfectly crispy. The buns were quite small and a bit smooshed, but they were soft. It came with some fry sauce and pickles as well, overall a good burger. The fries had a good amount of toppings (cheese onions, fry sauce) and were nice and crispy. Kinda wish the onions were slightly more grilled for some extra flavor! Would probably go for plain next time as the loaded fries and burger together had similar flavors The interior has a few benches for seating and single bar type seating around the perimeter - I could see it filling up if there's a big line of people. Would like to try the chicken sandwich and brussel sprouts next time we stop by!

The Big Mac stays the same. I went to LA to taste, apparently, the best burger in LA at For the Win. I paid $25 for two smash burgers and had high expectations. After all, when you click this joint on Google Maps, a fancy review pops up. Nice! However, when the smash burger entered my cave and caressed my buds, my mind instantly recognized it as a Big Mac. Therefore, my brain could hardly differentiate between a McDonalds burger, and the "best" burger in LA. I haven't eaten at McDonalds in 14 years, but my mind still knew what a gentle and warm face looks like. So overall, it was alright! As the reverend Shane Gillis says "Not Bad". The service was good tho. And the ambiance was a bit weird because the music was off. Haha bye!!!

It's buried back in a street mall. It's on the ground level. From Broadway, walk in the main entrance of the mall, and it's about halfway in on your left. I ordered the classic smashed, Amboy style. Very simple burger, and that's how I wanted it. I had it double, because it's just $2 extra. Yes, it's a good burger, but it was really salty. I think it would have been much better with half as much salt. I was super thirsty after I ate it. I had to buy a bottle of water for my ride home. I happened to be in the area, and even though I'd already eaten, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally drop in. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.

To say I'm super bummed is an understatement. I am so thankful that I happen to stop by for lunch and visit this location one last time. The same manager was there on the last day as when I went the first time two years ago. The staff there was always amazing, friendly, and the food was incredible. I think it was the Chinatown location that didn't work for them. However, the good news is that they do have three other locations and if you have never been, I suggest you check Kroft out if you love burgers, especially smashed. The other locations are in Long Beach, Anaheim, and Rancho Cucamonga. I wish them luck and I will definitely be stopping in their other locations if I am ever in the area.

Waited another 10min, while I saw other people picking up orders, so I checked in again. Same response, not ready yet. Another 10min passed by, now I'm seeeing people who came after me get their orders before me. Asked the staff again for my order status. The order pick up window person shouted my name to the kitchen each time I checked in. Finally the 3rd time they responded, they start arguing, apparently my order was done a long time ago, and it was given to someone else. It took 30min to figure out that my order had already been done and given to someone else because there was no communication between the kitchen, order staff or pick up staff. no apology, just got my food after the argument 3minutes later...Food was average, definitely not worth a 30min wait.
