I've always enjoyed the food here--it's consistently really good and that's why I keep coming back. However, this last visit was a bit disappointing due to something that felt misleading. There's a board that advertises a student discount if you show proof. I don't have a physical student ID since my school doesn't provide one, but I logged into my student portal right there at the register and even showed my class schedule as proof. Despite that, the discount was denied because it wasn't an actual ID. It wasn't really about the discount itself, but more about the principle. If you're advertising that students just need to show proof, then valid proof should be accepted. Otherwise, it would be helpful to update the sign to clearly state that only a physical student ID is accepted.

I have eaten at this place a few times and each time the food is very delicious. They have three large screen T.V's and the place is always being kept clean. This place has a large selection of items to choose from and they have desserts to. The staff always greets me with a smile and is very professional. There is plenty of parking available. I highly recommend this place to others.

JJ had been wanting to try this place for some time, as he grew up in this community and had not been there since new owners took over. First off, he saw a sign that mentioned that students and he thought educators get a discount. So he was trying to make conversation with the workers by asking about this, and was not greeted in a friendly / welcoming manner at all. He had a horrible experience with them and found them to be rude and hostile. He ordered the Combo Avocado Cheeseburger and I ordered a corn dog. Presentation was good, and it looked appetizing. However, JJ said that it was way too greasy. He wasn't able to eat most of it. The corn dog was fine, and I ate the whole thing. There was plenty of seating inside, and there is ample parking in their parking lot. We will not be going back.

    Menudo???

Whatever you do, skip the Menudo ... I honestly don't even know if you can call this Menudo because, one it did not have any beef honeycomb. I could not for the life of me figure out what they used, but these pieces of mystery "meat" have me baffled. It really tasted different. I have tried Menudo's from different places in East LA, and I was a excited to try this new place, but what a let down. If you are looking for really good Menudo go to Troy's on Valley instead. They are still hands down the best Mundo in East LA. The only somewhat saving grace was that we ordered steak and Eggs as well. Even that was pretty underwhelming. It was really two thin slices of what look like diezmillo (Thin cut of Chuck Steak) grilled on the flat top. I would pass on this menu item as well. I have tried the burgers and chili cheese fries and they are decent. But whatever you do SKIP this "Menudo" ... I honestly can't even call it that because it does not taste like menudo at all. The staff is really nice and friendly though, so you can't knock them on that, and the location is really nice and clean as well.

I always come here with my boyfriend and their food never fails to disappoint me. I absolutely love their ham and cheese omelette and their chocolate shakes. Definitely recommend this place :)

Stopped by on a random day and I'm glad I did. The staff is super friendly and the food was delicious. I tried the turkey sandwich and the asada fries. Both were delicious but the fries were by far my favorite. The meat was crispy and savory and the fries were perfect. The vibe of this place is super casual and chill and they have parking.

Not what I was expecting. The reviews and pictures looked good but my experience was lackluster. Newer place but not aesthetically appealing. The service was ok. After ordering we waited in the patio. Wish they had umbrellas and vegetation. Very mediocre to be honest. Tried their Legacy which is a bacon cheeseburger. Not bad taste wise but the patties were undercooked and small. The avocado cheese burger was also undercooked. Felt like we could have gotten more for what we paid. Their fries were crispy and tasty. The kids grilled cheese was their best item. When you leave a restaurant just hoping not to get sick then it's not worth revisiting.

My boyfriend & I came here for the first time today & we both really enjoyed the bacon avocado burgers! We also got chili cheese fries & sweet potato fries to try both. Everything was delicious! The employees had such a welcoming & patient energy while we ordered. It's also really nice that they have a lot of seating outdoors & indoors.

French toast, hash browns, eggs over medium

Legacy Burger absolutely lives up to its name, and not just for the burgers! I came in for a dinner birthday party (~8 people) and decided to go with breakfast, and it was phenomenal. Everyone got their food quickly. French toast was golden and crisp on the edges, soft and custardy inside, topped with a perfect scoop of whipped butter. The eggs were cooked exactly how I wanted, and the hash browns were beautifully golden and crisp, they even subbed them in for the sausage/bacon option as I'm vegetarian. It's rare to find a diner that nails every detail, but this place does. Everything came out hot and fresh, the portions were generous, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Whether you're here for a burger, breakfast, or breakfast-for-dinner, Legacy Burger truly lives up to its name. AND there's a parking lot!!!! What more could you ask for in LA

Pretty good food here I usually get the burgers but this time I wanted to try something different, I got the farmers omelette which was also good legacy has good and fast service , I don't know the name of the cashier but she was very polite and has a good attitude

Legacy Burgers used to be Troy's Burger in the corner of Eastern and Chavez Ave for many years it use to be one of my favorites burger stand to get a burger and other items. I came with my wife to get breakfast at this establishment we went inside it looks so different from the old Troy's restaurant used to be we both look at the menu display what we like to order. My wife order chorizo plate and I order the chilaquiles plate the food would be different from the past restaurant. They call our number to pick up our food. The chilaquiles plate was portions big I need to take a bite of it. So much flavors in sauce and tortillas chips were very crunchy and the eggs adding more flavor to the dish. The rice was pretty good and the beans were good with flavor. My wife enjoy her chorizo plate very much. The staff were very friendly.

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. Tasty burgers and a must try for sure if your around! Cheers!

Howlin' Ray's is there too... but I don't care. ‍ Yes, they have smash burgers here, but I don't really think of Amboy as a smash burger place. It's the thicker burgers that keep bringing me back. Also, don't plan your entire trip around getting The DH because they don't always have it. This was my second visit and once again it wasn't available, so we ended up getting the Amboy and the Fancy, both Slim Thicc style. The seating situation is the only real downside. On weekends people end up eating all over the plaza--around the trees, on benches, basically wherever they can find a place to sit. Weekdays are definitely the move if you can make it. One thing to know before you get in line: people take their sweet time ordering here, and honestly I get it because everything sounds good. Just bring a little patience. The only thing I wish they'd asked was how I wanted my burger cooked. They asked what thickness I wanted but not the temperature. I'm always happy when a burger place asks if I want medium rare, medium, whatever. Next time I'll probably just tell them I want it medium rare. The burgers though? Fantastic. Especially if you're like me and getting a little burned out on every new place opening another expensive smash burger spot. One warning though... Don't plan anything after eating here. I happened to be in the area, and even though I'd already eaten, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally drop in. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.
