New York Steak and Eggs, with breakfast potatoes.
    Michael S.

We were immediately greeted with smiles, making the atmosphere feel welcoming and warm right away. It was slow so we got seated right away, served water and menus. The server was both attentive and informative. I ordered the New York steak and Eggs, my wife got the biscuits and gravy. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare with an excellent crust, and was seasoned well. Both our eggs were cooked amazingly over easy. The biscuits were perfect for my wife and their sausage gravy was well seasoned. The breakfast potatoes were fried well, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Highly recommend. Oh and their espresso was brilliant! Way to go guys, we'll be back before we leave!

What a little gem for food in St. George! With scratch-made biscuits and jam, you must start with those. Honestly the regular bread and butter was fantastic as well. As a group of 8, we were able to order a bunch of items and they were all so tasty and delicious. The pork belly tostadas didn't present as though they'd be good, but I promise there were 10/10. The pollo asada fries and the creamed elote corn were both a huge hit with everyone, I swear I'd come back just for that corn. The broccolini and carrots were a super tasty veg. Although the cheesy potatoes were good on the first bite, the cheese hardened and didn't stick to any of the potatoes anymore, so I'd probably skip those next time. The chef graciously offered for us to try the corned beef and cabbage special on the house, and it was unbelievably good. It definitely turned some people into new corned beef lovers! The only "disappointing" dish was the nigiri, which came out as a cooked piece of salmon and was a misunderstanding amongst the table. We ordered the elk gnocchi but it was never delivered so we ended up cancelling that. (I'm not even sure I checked if they took that off the bill, but hopefully they did!) Since the meal was impressive, we thought we should try a few desserts too? The cookies/milk and the key lime pie were real winners, along with the homemade prickly pear and lime sorbet. Ashly was friendly and provided excellent service to our table. I wish the vibe was a little bit cozier, but I did ask for our chandelier above our table to be dimmed and that helped a lot! Overall, definitely recommend and would absolutely return if we make it back to St. George.

We have friends who have been trying to get us to come here for years. We finally made it tonight and we instantly regretted not making it sooner. First of all we had our two kids with us and they immediately brought out a plate of apples for them to start snacking on. Very thoughtful and helpful. It kept them busy until we ordered and appetizers were brought out. I ordered the biscuits, the brussels sprouts, and the chicken confit. I couldn't eat the biscuits but my husband and kids devoured them. They looked incredible. I will be dreaming about the brussels sprouts until I return. My husband and I both agreed they were the best we've ever had. The chicken was great too- would have preferred white meat and additional sauce but still good. We loved our meal and look forward to making this place a regular when in town!

Food 5/5 Service 4/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Value 4/5 One of the best filets I've ever had! Another person in our party waited forever for their food, we all finished before their food came out but I guess it was because the gnocchi is made in house. He did say it was worth it. Also the scones were AMAZING! Cute place with nice waiters, would definitely go back!

    Pumpkin agnolotti. Wouldn't recommend.

I was here with seven friends last week. Great place for everyone to share. My favorites tonight were their bread with salted butter and berry jam; their BLT salad; and their street corn (elote).

We were really disappointed with our experience. We came to this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation and called ahead, where we were told they couldn't accommodate our party of 9 together but could seat us as two tables of 4 and 5. We appreciated that effort. However, when we arrived, we were initially told they only had one table available. They eventually made it work so we could sit at two separate tables, which we were grateful for--but the issues didn't end there. We were seated at 2:00 PM and didn't receive our food until 3:18 PM, despite ordering promptly. My husband's meal arrived first, and he ended up eating alone while the rest of us waited another 30 minutes for our food. Meanwhile, we were told multiple times that dishes come out based on order timing, yet we watched another group seated after us receive their food before we did. The wait became so long that our teenage children left after an hour and a half to head home. We truly value both good food and good service, but this experience fell short on the service side. Spending nearly $400--along with a mandatory 20% gratuity--left us feeling very unsatisfied. Ultimately the server lowered our bill, but that was after an argument. I'm never one to complain but this was over the top. I expected more from a Marriott Bonvoy property.

Been wanting to try this place for years and finally got the chance. It's in a hotel, and easy to find. We were sat in a back room and greeted quickly. We ordered the drink special, a peach bourbon drink. The waiter explained its family style or shareable plates, and left as we perused the menu. We decided on the burratta and watermelon pork belly apps and for the entrees we got the halibut special and the NY Strip. Burratta was odd as you got a baseball sized piece of cheese with a huge bowl of arugula and strawberries. The ratio was just off, hard to eat that much arugula, especially when it's lightly dressed so it was really just about of bitter lettuce. Cheese was good. Pork belly watermelon was the same, just 4 small squares of pork belly on a lot of watermelon. It tasted nice, but just not enough pork belly Halibut special came with asparagus and was covered in onions, which were not in the description on the menu. My wife brushed them off and ate most of the fish. It was a little overcooked and dry, but had a nice flavor. Steak was really good and very large Came with fingerling potatoes. Sliced in the kitchen it had overcooked to a medium or medium well while I had ordered med rare. Dessert was good, had the key lime pie and a dish of sorbet. Was really good pie, one of the best I've had. It's nice inside, open kitchen and lots of communal dining areas Overall was a miss, ratios were off, cooking was off. Wouldn't come back

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. I enjoy going for dinner rather than brunch because there's usually way more options for me to try. The menu changes seasonally but Ive had a delicious gnocchi, lobster bisque, grapes that tasted like they were grilled, warm biscuits with fresh jam, and so many other good dishes. My husband loves the cookies and milk for dessert while I will pick a tres leche cake anyday when they have it. I enjoy the cocktail variety as well which can change with the seasonal menu too. The service is normally great and the location downtown allows for walking before or after.

The elk gnocchi was fabulous. Very tender - fell right off the bone. The gnocchi was unique as well - thicker than most gnocchi and shaped slightly differently. The sauce was quite flavorful.

Everything was wonderful except the osso buco it was dry and tasteless that aside the 3 others with me ordered steaks and they were amazing the burratta salad was amazing too. The service was great

We've eaten at WAR 4 times prior to tonight's dinner and had decent food. Tonight was a different story. The hummus (odd flavor) was served w unpeeled carrots, celery and broccolini tops (not great dippers) The mushroom & shishito app. was greasy and didn't look appealing on the plate. The Jambalaya "Not Traditional" was served in a rich cream sauce & paired with cheesy grits that were cold. The combination of richness was a gut bomb. A lighter rice would have been better or just stick to a more traditional recipe. Lastly, The $40 Pork Chop was delivered on a small plate with a few slices of raw apple, a scant scattering of fried onion and a weak swipe of odd purée. The chop was cut off the bone and pre sliced for some reason. It looked mangled and unappetizing with the bare bone. The cut was fatty, gristly and served lukewarm. Again this was a $40 plate ! Our waiter was really nice! We were honest with our feedback & he comped the appetizers, gave a discount for the chop and added a free dessert. It would have been great to have just had a well prepared meal in the first place. Sadly, I don't think we'll be returning.

    Scrumptious scallops.

Wood Ash and Rye is the best restaurant in St. George Utah hands down . Located in the Advenire Hotel was an exquisite dining experience from the wait staff, to the quaint asethics to the mind blowing delicious foods. Everything from the appetizers to the deserts was stunningly beautiful and flavorful. Kudos to the chef and the entire kitchen staff. The seasonal menus are so charming and the way each shareable meal is explained was an absolute delight. We're coming back every year to see whats new. So impressive and well thought out. Our waitress deserved ever ounce of that tip. Hand claps for everyone . Im telling my friends and co- workers . And then we got extra cookies . Just amazing.

The bacon-wrapped dates must have been crafted in heaven... or perhaps meant for the gods and somehow gifted to us. Tucked into the Tower Building, this New American restaurant nails the Southwestern-meets-fine-dining vibe: intimate indoor seating with contemporary regional art, fresh flowers, and soft lighting, plus a charming patio for when the weather cooperates. It feels romantic and relaxed without being stuffy--perfect for date night or a special occasion while visiting southern Utah.c91b9be2267e Service was attentive and friendly without hovering. Our server knew the menu well and made solid wine recommendations (they've got a nice list, and no-corkage Mondays are a nice touch if you BYO from a Utah store). Portions are generous for the price point--definitely not the tiny-plate nonsense you sometimes get at fine-dining spots. We started with the carrot jalapeño soup (bright, flavorful, and a nice kick) and the baked brie, which was rich and perfectly paired with the seasonal chutney and crostini. For mains, the bone-in pork chop and the hanger steak were highlights--well-cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor from the fresh ingredients and thoughtful sauces. The sides (mac & cheese and haricot verts) were solid too. We finished with the key lime pie, which was a bright, creamy winner. One note, though: pass on the crab cakes. They're a menu staple (around $16, served with something like pomegranate salsa or poblano aioli depending on the season), but ours were mostly filler with a noticeably fishy taste. Not worth the spot on the table when there are so many stronger starters and entrées.781e4d Overall, we'd happily return to The Painted Pony. It's one of the better fine-dining options in St. George--great atmosphere, strong service, and mostly excellent food at reasonable prices for what you get. Just skip the crab cakes and you'll have a winner of a meal. 4/5 stars. Recommended for visitors and locals alike. Reservations advised, especially on weekends.

Everything from the vibe to the flavours was spot on. Emily and her husband have created the best cafe around we will be back when next in the area! A perfect 5 stop -- highly recommend if you're missing that classic café feel!

Oh. My. Goodness!!! Went back today with my son who is in…read morethe military. They were so kind to offer him a free coffee for his service! :') We were just going to pop in to satisfy my affogato craving but as we were taking off, we were so blessed to have the owner have us try his French Toast Crunch!!! Oh my!!! When I say, life changing - it is an absolute must try the next time you are in this area! That first bite really took me by surprise! You should have seen my face!! Haha! It blew me away! The crunchy bits on top are Cinnamon French toast cereal bits which give it a great crunchy but light texture in contrast to the creamy custardy french toast, paired with a "to die for" creamy whipped maple syrup and cream cheese (and something else?) topping that is so very light and airy and just a bite of heaven!!!! Not too sweet! Which I love. It's Just right! TJ is a very talented chef and artist. His wife Emily is so kind and warm and makes you feel so welcomed. And Chase, the chef (pictured) is real nice as well!! Really, you do feel the love in their food and hospitality. No wonder they get such great reviews!! Go support this local business. They are such a valuable addition (culinary wise, and community wise) to St. George!!! Their purpose and vision is so awesome- to honor those who have served us. Ps. Forgot to mention that we also tried the Utah Scones (beignets) and every single one of the dipping sauces that compliment them are bomb!! DEF try those!!!!!!! Love this place!!!

We had the sweetest, most feel-good experience at First Watch today From the moment we walked in,…read moreeverything just felt warm and welcoming. Our food was absolutely delicious! The Power Wrap was served perfectly warm and the mushrooms were so flavorful, the chocolate chip pancakes (with that warm maple syrup ) were such a treat, and the farmhouse hash was hearty and comforting. The fruit was beautiful, ripe, and juicy, and the avocado was literally perfect. You can just tell when food is made with care, and this was it. The ambience made it even better;bright, clean, and peaceful with such a happy, relaxed energy. But truly, the best part of our visit was our server, Michael. He was an absolute angel. So kind, so genuine, and just full of light. He made us feel so special and taken care of, and his smile honestly made our whole morning. You can tell he really loves what he does, and it shows in the way he treats people. We left feeling full, happy, and just really grateful. We'll definitely be back

Our children have frequently been here and my husband had eaten at their restaurants in Florida,…read morebut I had brunch for the first time here a few days ago. Teshia was a good server. I loved the morning meditation drink with turmeric, agave, and ginger; the lemon ricotta pancakes with strawberries; and the potatoes with bacon, herbs and Parmesan creamy sauce. Large portions. Next time I want to try their cheesy grits and lemon blueberry cornbread. Hubby liked his steak and potato hash with peppers and eggs. Food was fresh and lighter than at other breakfast places.
