Dr. Darnall is an exceptional physician. He discussed the results of my sleep study and recommended I start using a CPAP device. My insurance covered everything including supplies. I was not the best patient and would often not use my device as directed. When I came in for my next visit, my results recorded on my CPAP device were not good. Dr. Darnall explained how using the device would help with my high blood pressure and the overall tiredness I felt all day. He encouraged me to use my equipment and did not give up on me. I am now using my device every night and I wake up with so much more energy! My blood pressure has gone down some too. I was sad to hear, on my last visit, that the practice was closing due to Dr. Curlee retiring. The practice will still sell CPAP supplies. However, Dr. Darnall is moving to Austin Regional Clinic starting in March 2026. I was told this news by his office staff. I will drive anywhere in Central Texas to see Dr. Darnall because he is the best! read more

It takes multiple phone calls for my mom to get her prescription refilled - every time! My mom is a chronic insomniac so without her prescription, she doesn't sleep. It is crazy that it takes them several days to over a week just to do that. There is no regard for the patient. read more

My primary Dr. recently referred me to see Dr. C. Keilty Darnall M.D. and I could not be happier with the sleep consultation. The Doctor, receptionist and nursing staff were extremely courteous, professional and patient with me as I was having trouble with my hearing aid that day. I was seen promptly at my appointment time and did not have to wait. Dr. Darnall was nothing less then amazing! He gave me his undivided attention, and was very thorough in explaining sleep apnea to me and the procedure for having a sleep study test at their location. The sleep study room was very nice, private and comfortable, making it feel more like a hotel night stay rather then a medical facility. The Sleep Technician who administered the test seemed extremely knowledgeable and explained everything throughout the test. I was impressed with the team work between the technicians and how they helped each other. I was told it would be about two week to get the results and was very pleased, that a week later I had the results and my new CPAP machine. My first consultation visit with Dr. Jim Curlee DO was an absolute amazing experience!!! Dr. Jim Curlee DO has exceptional bedside manners in listening and answering all of my questions and in giving me advice in regards to having a great experience in having a sleep study performed at their sleep center!!! The nurses were very helpful in putting me at ease in preparation for my consultation visit with the doctor!!! I went to Dr Curlee for a sleep study several years ago. Starting in June I started having trouble breathing with my CPAP. I contacted the office and I was told that there was nothing wrong with my machine. Lisa the Office Manager told me that if I didn't look at my machine I would be fine. I told her that I looked at the machine because I couldn't breathe . I was not able to get anywhere with this office so I requested they send my records to another doctors office and they said it would be 7 to 10 days. all the conversations I had with this office made me feel like they thought I was a joke. I then received a certified letter from this office. the letter was dated 6-26-2023 it was mailed on 7-13-2023 and I received it on 7-17-2023. They spent the money to send it certified and didn't even request a return receipt. the letter stated that they would no longer be my doctor after 7-26-2023. My new doctors office never received my records and I had to drive to Georgetown to get my records. I just had another sleep sturdy and it was determined that I was nit crazy that I definitely had new sleep apnea problems that needed to be corrected. I have been blown away by my experience with Georgetown Sleep Center. Every single person I spoke with, including front desk, doctors, tech, and equipment staff, have been enthusiastic and incredibly helpful. I was referred out by my primary care because my snoring and night time breathing got worse due to my pregnancy. Georgetown Sleep Center made sure I got in as soon as possible when cancelations popped up and rushed to get my results. In no time I have my much needed CPAP and my nights have improved already. read more

Lied to me about getting insurance approval for billing and didn't follow up with insurance to correct their issues, leaving me with a giant bill for my sleep studies. The nurse who helped me prep for the sleep study didn't know anything about billing and just encouraged me to sign papers without any knowledge whatsoever. Reached out multiple times repeatedly over the course of a year and never got call backs, especially since they never ever answer their phones when you call. Also, they never got back to me about prescription issues and refills. Miserable experience, especially now that they have submitted my bill to a debt collector instead of trying to correct it with insurance. I will never ever recommend a practice that screws over their patients the way they have with me. Please save yourself the trouble and go find a different sleep clinic. Even if the doctors are good, their practice feels like a giant scam. read more

I had my sleep study done here and it went fine. This was my 3rd over the years, but I did this one ASAP since my CPAP wasn't working properly and I was having miserable nights of little to no sleep. The problems began after the study and time to get a new machine. Even though I had a new prescription, the medical equipment side of their business told me the earliest they could get me in for a consultation was two weeks later. Why do I need a consultation that would take an hour or so? Even after explaining that I am having serious issues and need a machine immediately, it mattered not to them. They didn't care that I was waking up with my Uvula swollen to the point of closing off my throat and having to go to my Dr. For steroids to reduce the swelling. Once I realized they don't care about their patient's health, I called Verus Healthcare online and had a machine in two days, although I paid for express shipping. This was all six months ago and today I called to try my luck with them again since my nasal pillow mask had really irritated my nose to the point I can't wear it, I just wanted to buy another mask. No luck, earliest appointment for the privilege of buying a $109 mask is Dec. 18th. Nope, no way to make an exception. Well, there won't be a third attempt with these prople, called Verus Healthcare again and mask will be here tomorrow. When I hear people talk about shopping local and supporting local businesses, I scoff now, because some local businesses simply suck. read more

Terrible service. I called with a medical issue and was asked to get an iron test. It has been several weeks and have. It heard back. I talked to another doctor and was diagnosed with anemia. I called to make a change to my appointment and was told no one was available for my appointment in the scheduled date. No one had called ,e to reschedule and the appointment was in less than week. Then, I received a bill for supplies and not wanted about how much the cost was going to be prior to the order. This office customer service has declined tremendously in the past few years. This review specifically has to do with the Sleep Equipment and supplies... Do not go here if you live in Austin. Its a terrible drive their only open from 8- 4:30 and they seem to want you to make an appointment for EVERYTHING. Even warranty repairs... I called about a CPAP I had gotten from them, and they required me to make an appointment and come in so they could tell me what I already knew (it was broken) and then ask me to come back when a new one came in. I work a 9-5 job in Austin & they are only open during business hours. I was able to find some time on Friday, but they didn't have any appointment times. Why I need an appointment when they already verified the original is broken is beyond me. I find it ridiculous that I cant go through the manufacturer for warranty service (like any other product in the world) and instead I have to deal with these yayhoos and their inconvenient hours and policies. read more

I've been seeing neurologists for more than 15 years and I can say with confidence that the quality of care is exceptional and operations are top notch. Dr. Darnell: Nothing but praise. I came to the office frustrated and exhausted and left our first visit feeling confident and optimistic again. He listens attentively, communicates exceptionally, and collaborates to make sure care is patient-directed. He has helped me finally find the right diagnosis and a better medication schedule. As a nurse, I'm thrilled to meet a talented clinician that also has natural bedside manner. As a patient, I am thankful to feel trusted and validated by my provider. I had been referred to a hospital owned sleep center and was told my copay with insurance would be $2500. Luckily, I knew that a sleep study did not cost that much. I called Georgetown Sleep Center and confirmed what the correct cost should be and scheduled with them. All the employees at Georgetown Sleep Center were professional and explained all that I could expect. Dr. Darnall was very patient and helpful. On top of all that, my co-pay was only $100. Lesson learned was to educate myself on the costs. read more

I met with dr curler and found him friendly.he ordered a sleep study and said if my insurance didnt cover it he wouldnt make me do the study. I called billing and was told I'd pay 15% what they failed to do was actually call and get the exact amount. I ended up owing 732.00 when I called the ofc I was told to call back next week for manager. She did nothing except say the dr shouldn't have said that. So I paid it in full and told her that I am dropping curlee because I cant trust his word. Today I get a letter in the mail saying they are dropping me because good medical care requires trust, confidence and respect. The lack of these important elements makes this decision necessary. I find it incredibly rude and immature they send a letter and make it sound like I'm the problem. You cant trust what the billing dept. And the dr seems immature. read more

I was 50 when I had my first sleep study at this beautiful facility, when it was time for a second study, I went back. Both times the technicians did a great job as they prepared me for the sleep study, answered my questions and helped me to be as comfortable as possible for the overnight stay. Later, the doctor took time to carefully explain the results of my tests. The folks there even helped me choose the equipment that was best for me. My life has changed for the better, and I even use my sleep machine for my 20-minute power naps. I don't ever want to have that sleep deprived feeling again, if I can help it! My insurance does not cover sleep studies but it was worth every penny to get a proper diagnoses and treatment by such a fine team of medical experts. My health is improved, it's fabulous to be sleeping well, and I owe it all to the helpful people at George Town Sleep Center. I highly recommend them. Sue C. read more

Wow. I have been to numerous health care offices in my 56 years, but I have never been so unimpressed with the lack of professionalism, abundance of excuses, and overall condescending attitude of the the staff here. My first virtual visit and the initial in-person visit went very well, but fast forward 60 days, and they: - Can't keep their appointments. I was told it was not unusual for me to have to wait 45 minutes past the scheduled call time... because "you know, that's just how it is with doctors' offices" (no, it is not). - I was told I must not have my device set up correctly because they aren't getting the information (and I was told I was not compliant). Turns out, it was the folks at the other end that had the Serial # and Device # wrong, but she hadn't considered that, even though I told her I was getting info on my iphone app and emails. - Became very condescending, spoke very quickly, claimed she had told me information she did not, did not call on a timely basis, and made it sound like I was at fault for not listening when I wondered why 10 minutes after she called to say she would be sending me an email, I had not yet received it. I guess I was just supposed to keep checking my email for the next 30-45 minutes. Blatant disregard for their patient's time and other appointments those patients may have. To this, she made another false claim that "they always tell their patients to allow 1 1/2 hours for the appointment" - she did NOT tell me this nor is it acceptable for what is supposed to be 30 minute call. - When I made a suggestion to perhaps schedule follow up calls when a patient's 30 minutes is up (as opposed to falling behind the rest of the day and inconveniencing other patients), she said "we got this. We know what we're doing", basically dismissing my suggestion. I was appalled at this behavior. Clearly, they don't "got this" if it's not working for a customer. Just keep blaming it all on the customer and see how long you stay in business. And sure, business is good right now based on how busy you are, but word will get around... starting with me and what I will pass on to the doctor who referred me to you. read more

I have a pretty severe case of obstructive sleep apnea and the team there were great about explaining the sleep study, dangers of untreated sleep apnea, treatment options, and costs. I was extremely disappointed with my overall experience with Georgetown Sleep Center, specifically with Dr. Darnall. After dealing with excessive daytime sleepiness from age 16 to age 22, I was ultimately diagnosed with a sleep disorder while living in Washington, DC. While it was hard to accept that I had been diagnosed with a (likely) lifetime disorder, it was a breathe of fresh air to be able to know what the problem is and have a solution. It was quite a journey to get to this point in my life, having been told by doctors to eat more vegetables or get more sleep, yet I continued to fall asleep while driving or at work. Two years into the successful treatment of my sleep disorder, my husband and I move to Austin, TX. I get a referral from my PCP to Dr. Darnall. I figure the process of getting set-up with a new doctor will be relatively painless. I was so wrong. Despite bringing a copy of my original sleep study (which lasted 23 hours), Dr. Darnall instructs me to complete another. So I agree, thinking, "why not?" As the study approaches, I become slightly anxious, as I begin to realize that during my initial consultation Dr. Darnall, he seemed a bit critical and I felt as though my journey up to this point was somehow at stake. I go in for the (second) sleep study, and there is someone else in the room next door who is excessively loud throughout the daytime nap portion of the study. However, since I have a sleep disorder, I have no problem taking the first 4 naps. On the 5th nap, I was about to fall asleep, and the lady in the next room slammed her door. So I was then awake and alert. As a result, I did not fall asleep. The average of the times it took me to fall asleep in the first four naps meets the diagnostic criteria (less than 8 minutes), but when you add in 20 minutes for the 5th nap, which is how long they will wait for you to fall asleep, it bumps the time to over 8 minutes. When the sleep technician called me to give me my results, she informed me that Dr. Darnall did not find that I met the criteria for any diagnosis and would not be willing to treat me. This sent me into a frenzy, as I suddenly began to doubt everything and wonder how I could function going forward if I did not, in fact, have a sleep disorder. I ultimately made a second appointment with another sleep specialist, took in both sleep studies, and explained the whole story in tears. The new doctor looked at both studies, stated I met the diagnostic criteria for the disorder in both tests (as she does not even have a patient take a 5th nap if they fall asleep on the first 4 . . . because that is clearly not normal) and prescribed me my medication. I honestly believe that what Dr. Darnall did bordered on the line of medical malpractice. I inform a doctor that I fall asleep while DRIVING due to a disorder that has been successfully treated in the past, and he basically tells me all he cares about is one number (the average time to fall asleep during naps) and will not take any other factors into consideration (my anxiety levels, the noise distractions, etc.). AND he didn't even bother to tell me this himself. He had the sleep technician call and tell me over the phone. His recommendation: get more sleep. My problem: I sleep all the freaking time. read more

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Curlee and the staff at Georgetown Sleep Center. It's a top notch facility. It's very clean, very professional, and they're very thorough. Fast, too! I went in for my consultation with Dr. Curlee last Tuesday, only a day after scheduling it, got into a sleep study on Friday night, and got the results of my study and Auto-CPAP machine yesterday. Dr. Curlee has the best bedside manner of any physician I've ever met. He's awesome! If you ever need to be evaluated for sleep disorders, this is the place to go to in the Austin-area! read more

After completing the sleep centers process of two overnight sleep studies and two appointments with the doctor I was told that a CPAP machine would be very beneficial for my sleep even though I did not sleep well with the CPAP during the study however with the doctors advice I purchased the CPAP. I used the CPAP for a month without any beneficial result. I spoke to the nurse at the center and she was unable to assist me with my condition. I explained to the nurse that I recently did online research on the topic of sleep apnea pillow or incline pillow. After researching the pillows I tried sleeping with one pillow stacked on a second pillow, that night I had slept better than I had slept in years. I asked the nurse if I can have a prescription for a sleep apnea or inclined pillow, her answer implied that they are not expensive $50-$100, if I want one I should go buy one. After I pushed the issue she told me that if I wanted a prescription for the pillow(s) that I would need to call my insurance company to see if they would cover it. When I first applied at the sleep center they checked my insurance for coverage, a procedure which costs several thousands of dollars, however, when I asked for a prescription for an inexpensive sleep apnea pillow I was told that I am on my own. read more

So after being told by GSC that I did not have sleep apnea even though I have previously been diagnosed with it, the nurse told me that I needed to see the doctor to see what I need to do. The soonest they could see me was 9 weeks out! I was not happy but they promised to call me if they could get me on sooner. Well not only did they not get me in sooner but they canceled my appt because they said the doctor said there was nothing he could do so there was no reason to see me! I was so deflated after this! When you wear a CPAP and you know how much benefit you get from it to be told the only way you can get one is to pay out of pocket for it you really feel defeated. I've gone since then without a machine because I needed a new one. Mine had broken and I had been using my husbands old machine. Finally I decided to go to a new doctor nearly 2 years later because I'm exhausted all the time and my husband recently told me that my snoring had gotten worse. I got in to see a different doctor at a different office. They had requested my sleep study from GSC and did revive the records. When I saw the doctor he looked over the study and told me that he honestly could not tell me why they told me I didn't have sleep apnea because by their own testing results, I DID! He told me that I did qualify for a new machine and that although he felt they were a good facility he could not understand why they told me what they told me. I've re-read several of the reviews and definitely agree after my experience that they are only in business for the money, not so much to help people. Sad, very sad! read more

My first impression of the Georgetown Sleep center was extreme professionalism. The office staff is caring and very professional. Just to look at their facility is inspiring as it is first class throughout. It is nestled in trees in a very nice, quiet area in Georgetown, TX. When I met Dr. Curlee I felt reassured that I would receive the best medical care possible. That was very important to me as one physican at another facility suggested I sleep with tennis balls attached to my back to keep me from sleeping on my back. That did not appeal to me so I was looking for a different and more professional approach. I found this with Dr. Curlee and his staff. What a joke this place is. I paid 50 for the initial visit. 50 for the sleep study. Had to wait 2 1/2 months for my results. They continued to bill me even though I had already paid my copays. When I went for my results, they charged me another copay just to tell me that I have nothing wrong. I sleep too much, not sleep apnea. Who knew 5-6 hours a night was too much. I don't see any recent reviews for GCS on the web so I hope this will be helpful to someone, I am a review reader so I'm always seeking advice from fellow reviewers. I went to see Dr. Ryan at the Georgetown Sleep Center after having severe daytime fatigue for 4-5 years but it started getting worse over the last 6-8 months so I decided I needed to do something about it. Dr. Ryan had me do a over night sleep study to find out what was going on. The front desk staff and sleep technicians were so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process! It's so refreshing to have people that friendly in a doctors office especially when I can get a little cranky from lack of sleep lol. Dr. Ryan was amazing, she explained the processes to me and everything she thought could be causing my sleepiness. After my study, she went over audio and video of my study and could tell by the look on my face in the beginning that I didn't quite understand so she pulled up some educational material to show me exactly what goes on during sleep apnea. She sat with me for over an hour showing, explaining, and answering questions about my diagnosis. I was feeling bad about myself because I'm only 23 and I always thought sleep apnea affected mostly older people so she went on to assure me she has patients much younger than me with this condition and made me feel much better. She then made notes in my chart that I wanted the smallest and pink mask that Resmed makes because I told her if I was going to have to have a CPAP I wanted it to look as much like an accessory as possible! Lol. I can't say enough great things about her, she's one of my favorite doctors...and I've got a few cuz I have a few different conditions!!! I go to the Georgetown Sleep Equipment and Supply center next week, they are co-owned so they work together with each other, to get education and training on the CPAP - I have two insurance policies which typically cover 100% of my medical costs but the equipment place does not accept my second insurance and I'm still going there because the staff have all been so great, friendly, and helpful that I'm willing to pay some out of pocket just to stay with the same place. The only somewhat negative experience I've had dealing with this place was once on the phone and once in person, which very well could've been the same person, she was kind of short with me while I was checking my calendar and just had a bit of a rude persona about her....she was definitely one of the scheduling girls and not one of the ladies up front cuz they're both awesome!! All in all, I recommend this place over anywhere else. It's a VERY nice facility, very well maintained, great rooms with private bathrooms and tvs, friendly staff, and I recommend Dr. Ryan for sure!! Everything takes a long time. I guess they are busy. I first scheduled an appointment back in October and I had the sleep study in December where they would let me know the results in a week and they said it usually takes less than a week. Well now it has been 10 Days and I haven't heard anything. I called in yesterday at day 9 and was basically told just keep waiting. From the beginning I was clear that I was working under a high deductible insurance plan (which I already met this year) and I wanted to get everything wrapped up before the years end before the deductible reset. I was very clear about this multiple times and I was assured it wouldn't be a problem. At this point I doubt they will get anything done before the end of the year. Insurance isn't the hold up - Georgetown Sleep Center is. Go anywhere else if you want quicker service. read more
