Our first time at this location, we've been to the one at Flowood (about 6 months ago) and it was terrible. This is near where we live and we always see lots of people in and out of it. We went for supper on Wednesday evening around 6:30pm and sat in the bar area. It was busy and we really liked the atmosphere. The bar tender was very friendly, efficient and on her toes. I ordered a blue cheese burger without the bun with sweet potato and husband had the shrimp basket with regular fries. If Gordon Ramsey was with us he would have gone into the kitchen, banged his fist on the table and shouted 'c'mon guys!' My burger was tepid if it was luke warm, burnt on the edges and needed some seasoning. The sweet potato fries were a bit soft and the salad and burger garnish ok. Husbands shrimp were tasty but his fries weren't that hot. The staff here were great and I loved the atmosphere so will give it another go at some point, hence the three stars. On this visit, I opted for the GB Chicken (chicken breast with a slice of ham and havarti cheese) with sweet potato mash and fried green tomatoes, and I cleaned my plate! We went on a Sunday just before noon, while the lobby had a wait (larger groups) we were seated immediately. I have very restrictive diet so a wedge is my go to. I ordered a wedge w grilled chicken. This was my first and last time coming here. The food was TERRIBLE !!! Why this place thinks it's a restaurant is beyond me. First of all it's a dump. The furniture looks like some rag tag Salvation Army furniture. The fried pickles, mushrooms and turnip green appetizers were fine. My entree was the blackened Mardi Gras grouper which had damn near NO grouper, maybe a fork full sitting on top of a plate full on mashed potatoes. It was pathetic !! The wife had the garlic Parmesan chicken wings which were awful. How do u mess up chicken wings. There is no way this place should be open. It gives restaurants a very bad name. Miserable service. After joining friends for a late dinner and drinks, the waiter refused to take my order "because he was going off shift"... OK, so I thought, I'll just go to the bar and at least get a beer. But after trying to get the attention of two people working behind the bar, no one would give me the time of day. I will give it an ok rating because I ate there in the past and it was good. This last visit.....not so much. If this had been a first visit I probably would not ever return. Food was barely warmer than cool to the touch. The open faced roast beef sandwich had a good taste and probably would have been awesome if it had been hot or even warm. The sweet potato fries weren't edible, however they were replaced with hot ones after the sandwich was halfway eaten. My daughter's food was not warm either and after eating part of an appetizer she decided to just send hers back and not get anything in its place. The excuse we got from the waiter was that we waited so late to come in that the kitchen staff was getting ready to go home. We arrived at 7:45, waited about 45 minutes for a table and then waited for our cold food. So moral of the story is don't go there if it is past 7:00, I guess. read more

Consistently good service and food. Their menu has many items and good blue plates. The turnip green bites, macaroni & cheese, and fried green tomatoes are awesome. I wish they had a better selection of veggies - like adding broccoli or green beans to their permanent list if side items. One thing I have noticed is that if you ask the food runner that delivers your food for something like extra dressing or a side of honey mustard, they never come back and deliver or let your server know. It's a minor problem but one that should probably be addressed. Overall it's a fun place with good service and good food and definitely worth a visit. I have never had any problem getting great service at Georgia Blue as a matter of fact if something was not the way we wanted it, I have made it a point to bring it up to management and they fixed it immediately or compensated another way. My family ate at Georgia Blu for the first time yesterday. We had the Blue Cheese Fries for an appetizer, the Ahi Tuna special for my husband and a grilled chicken sandwich for me. The food was delicious, but what really impressed me was the service. When they couldn't find any crayons for my kids to color with, they sent someone down to the Kroger to buy some!! I have been a patron of this restaurant for years, enjoying the blue plate specials on at least two occasions per week. Initially the price of the blue plate special included the cost of accompanying soft drinks or iced tea. A few years ago this restaurant excluded in the price of blue plate special the cost of all drinks, with the exception of ice tea. This was a 20% increase in the price for the blue plate special for non iced tea drinkers. Today during lunch, I read a posted notice announcing effective October 2 the price of the blue plate special will not include the price of iced tea. Overall a good find! Really cute atmosphere, quirky and Southern without being cluttered. Good menu variety, everyone is sure to find something they like. I had the house salad, which was lovely. Spring greens with a light dressing and just enough fixings to make it interesting. Next time I would ask for the dressing on the side, but that's a personal choice because I like very little dressing. Also had the shrimp and grits. Not the best I've had, but good. They went a little overboard on the amount of bacon (I know, I can't believe I said it either, who says too much bacon? But it was a lot). It also came out right after my salad, and I would have preferred to have time to eat that first. I will say that the dish was HOT which is awesome, can't stand when places give you something just warm ya know? Best of all was my server, Heather did a great job taking care of everyone in the bar area while mixing drinks for all the servers. The host and servers only smile when talking to each other. Do not pay in cash at the Madison location because they will not give you exact change. While this may seem petty, it truly shows how a business operates. When we questioned our waitress about the incorrect change, she became defensive and rude. She told us that they don't carry change so they just keep the change. We told her that we were saving the business money by paying with cash instead of a credit card. Not to mention, the food was awful. The biscuit was burned, and the chicken had barely any meat in it...it was all breading. I used this Yelp site to figure out where we(my hubby and I) wanted to go for our birthday supper. I was very pleased with the reviews, but the MAIN reason I chose this restaurant was it had a bonus of live music. This was our rare treat to ourselves. I called to verify they had live music, and was told yes and that it would begin at 8:00. This is fairly late for us old fogies, but we really were looking forward to it, so we decided to eat late. We were soooo disappointed that even by 9:20, there was no music to be heard. Not sure what happened. On the great side, though, the food was literally magnificent. Service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was just right. Perfect blend of casual classy. LOVED IT! Funny thing is, we would not have even come if it had not been for the tease of live music(that was the only reason we hopped across the parking lot from our favorite place, Bonefish.)
