Not really a fan!! The food was nothing special...had to send back my burger after I found a hair in it. Will not be going back.

I really really wanted Georgia Blue to be good today but sadly I was disappointed once again. This will be my last visit. Upon entering for lunch we were completely ignored by all three employees at the hostess station. I walked up, asked for a table and was told it would be a minute. Not what's your name, not I'm sorry, just it will be a minute. Then the same girl walks off with someone who appears to be a manager to deal with a large party. A few minutes later girl number two asks how many in our party. This girl was right up front when we previously asked for a table for two. Sigh.....we were walked to our cramped table to await service. Server arrives for our drink order. We want drag beer. Easy enough you say? We asked for a list. The server provided a list and said some taps were down and to ask about any we were interested in. The first four beers hubby asked for were a no. All were out. Should of just told us what was available. On to the food. This pace was excellent when they first opened and have gone down hill since. My sandwich was literally toasted on just one side and arrived toasted side up. I had to pick it up and take a bite to discover the weirdness. Had it been properly toasted it could have been good except they ruined it with store bought pre-shredded lettuce!! Gross! Could not believe a place like this would serve such crap. Hubbys Happy plate was no better. Don't even bother. Lackluster service and fast food quality meals. My onion strings were cold. Hubbys cheese sauce congealed and lukewarm. I am so disappointed and wish I would have complained on the spot. I hate sending food back but should have done so today. $50 lunch for two with tip should be a whole lot better than this. Server basically told us she was about to be busy with a large table so if we wanted anything else we should ask now. I asked for the check.... read more

Took 50 minutes to get our meal, ok I guess. Wife ordered a garden salad, they brought her a house salad with nuts. Staff that brought it said is this ok? I said she can't eat it, it has nuts. He just looked at us dumb founded and walked off. Left the salad. Ordered the brownie for desert, brought it to us and said sorry, we don't have spoons. I said what do we eat ice cream and fudge with, our hands? He walked off. Wife cleaned her fork and used it. Bill was $98, it's the last $98 they'll get from me. read more

I hate to give it a 3 star but it only got that because we are regular customers. We go here at least 2 or 3 times a month. This visit the server was very distracted. She came and took our order after waiting 20 minutes then never brought drinks. Drinks came and she mumbled something about being rushed. All the time we saw her talking to other servers. The food came and my husbands order was totally wrong. She snatched it back up and it was 30 more minutes before someone came back with the right dish. She never checked back to refill drinks or ask if everything was ok. My husband had not even started his food and she asks if we wanted the check. I got the blue plate pot roast and it was very over cooked. The vegetables were good. The prices had gone up and they no longer include a drink with the plate dinner. read more

Awful awful awful service. Decided to come here for lunch, later than usual. The available menu is different than what is posted on the web site. It took forever for someone to take my order, and then it was another 20-30 minutes before my order finally came out even though it was a "blue plate." They never brought me one of the sides I ordered, despite promising that it would "be right out." I was never asked if I needed a refill on my drink. I finally had to get the attention of one of the employees cleaning up tables to ask for a refill and my check. They still charged me full price despite not giving me what I ordered. Just a flat out TERRIBLE experience from a customer service standpoint. read more

Went for lunch..loved it... Went for dinner and wanted to SPANK the management. Here's the deal..... Dear Management, Your food is great...HOWEVER, For the dinner price, you could offer some type of bread with your awesome little (house) salad and a good pasta dish like your Seafood Linguine. But above all, shame on you, if you are gonna be so snooty as to charge a $3.00 split fee....For goodness sake....you split the food on two plates...you dang sure don't just bring out an extra plate stacked under the other one. That's just insulting. Honestly that ticked me off quite a bit. Is that supposed to be some type of punishment for sharing an entree with someone? Besides all that, your place has a bar type atmosphere...you're pushing it to act like it's an imposition for you to wash two plates. I don't make a habit of sharing an entree...but it was late night and it seemed like a good idea to have an entree between us with a drink instead of an appetizer...wow, not allowed??? Really? Other much classier restaurants have split it on another plate for no charge if they knew we were sharing and they dang sure didn't slap an extra plate underneath the other one and then leave it for me to fish it out for myself, drag a portion onto the plate and then charge me an extra three bucks for the trouble. Ticked me off...if your food wasn't so good you'd get a one or two star rating from me for that stunt. You've got the food thing going in a good direction, don't mess it up with silliness like this. read more

Never had a bad meal at Georgia Blue! The Turnip Green Bites are worth the trip by themselves, but their Shrimp & Grits or Bayou Catfish with Crawfish Cream Sauce or... well, everything we've tried is spectacular. Love the Crawfish Salad or the Smoked Duck Salad. Amazing burgers! We like to go at lunch time for the delicious blue plate specials as well. Good service and reasonable prices. read more

There are not a lot of "bars" in Madison, by design, and this is one of the few places that comes close to such a place. They have a lot of craft beer on tap, so that is a huge plus! The high prices they are charging per pint is really my big criticism. Otherwise, they have always been very friendly, they are quick to get you seated, the food is reasonably priced and it is generally quite tasty too. I haven't really had anything that is lackluster here, other than my wife getting an overdone burger one time (which can happen anywhere). Again, just keep in mind that for every pint you get, you are paying about the same price as 2/3's of a six pack (really, you do that most places though...). read more

This restaurant was amazing! We walked in with a big group and were seated immediately (amazing for Friday night during dinner time). Everyone loved the food. We tried shrimp and grits... Incredible! Crab cake sandwich... The best thing I have tasted! They even brought out complementary cotton candy for the kids! We will definitely be back to try more! read more

I agree that the atmosphere of the restaurant doesn't quite mesh with the menu, but that isn't really important to me. The food is what matters and it was really good. We started with the gorgonzola chips and crawfish crepes appetizers. Both were very delicious. As entrees we had the mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries (wonderful) and the shrimp po-boy (some of the best shrimp i've had in the Jackson area). Love Georgia Blue food and have always had a good experience at the old location. However, we ate there tonight and the service was terrible. Had to ask if there was a server for our area. Someone finally came and said there was a miscommunication. It took forever to get food and when the food came, two meals were missing. We waited an additional 15 minutes for those meals (one was a child's meal) while everyone else's meal was getting cold....drinks ran out. No one came after food brought out, no condiments for burger. Then had to sit and wait for the check.....horrible experience. We eat there fairly often but if service continues to be that bad, we won't return. Maybe should have stayed at the old location. read more

Great for lunch or dinner but particularly If you want good homestyle food at a good price with nice portions and be able to get in and out during lunch this is the place to go. I ordered from the lunch menu and was well pleased with my food. The vegetables are very good and hearty. I have eaten her a few times and love the consistency. No complaints. Wonderful food. Was there for lunch. Was advised by a friend not to miss while in town. Didn't disappoint. The "blue plate" special was wonderful. I just really enjoy this place! The atmosphere is nice. It always seems to be busy and the waitstaff is friendly. I really like the red beans and rice. And they have a great salad with pears, bacon, Gorgonzola cheese and almonds. After trying it I make salads like it at home all the time now! It's delicious! The food, atmosphere, and service here are always top-notch. The prices may be a bit steep, but for what you're getting, I feel it's well justified AND comparable to other restaurants in the area. We eat here at least once a month and haven't had bad food yet. Whether lunch or dinner, the food usually comes out incredibly fast, and no matter how busy the wait staff is, for the most part, they take care of you. We've had a few instances of inattentive waiters on busy nights, but those are definitely outweighed by the positive experiences. Be sure to try the burgers, crawfish and grits, or the crispy smoked duck. All were delicious, and the beer menu isn't too bad either! They also tend to have good local musicians playing acoustically and singing on weekends as well. Totally adds to the enjoyable experience. read more

I love this Georgia Blue. Always have great service here and friendly servers. The location on Flowood is usually slower wait times but I've never had that problem here. The food is a little pricey for what you get in my opinion but overall is still a good place to eat and catch a sports game or listen to live music! read more

I have to say that I love this place. We have been there several times since my last review and the food is consistently excellent as is the service. We have ordered many things from the menu and they have all been consistently good. My all time favorite is the Duck Salad and my husband likes the fried Green tomato BLT. We usually bring our son (and sometimes go with / meet others with children) and the staff is always nice to the kids and very accommodating. It is AWESOME to be able to go out and get great upscale food and be able to bring along the kiddos. This is our favorite restaurant in Madison. read more

Staying at the hotel right across the parking lot. Wanted to sit at the bar, have some dinner and a drink and watch some Monday Night Football. It was pretty crowded so I understood it might take a bit. Waited a minute...then two...then 5.... nobody even looking at me to acknowledge my existence. It kind of became interesting: how long will it take to get noticed? Mind you I am sitting right in the middle of the bar....ten minutes, nothing. Finally at 15 I had enough, get up to leave and then hear "can I get you anything?". I said "seriously?" and walked out. Went to a Mexican place in a strip mall nearby. We visited this restaurant on 7/10/2019 for the first time ever. My mom got the BLT and onion rings, I ordered the Bayou catfish. Both were amazing, as was the service. What really stood out to me was that in my last 4 bites of fish, I came across a couple of small bones. Not a huge deal because I was almost done anyway, but I couldn't eat the rest. The server asked if I wanted a box and I told her no because there were a couple of bones. The manager promptly came to our table with a menu and offered to remake the dish or something new. He also explained that their catfish comes in boneless but that this does happen on rare occasion (anybody eating catfish fillets should know that anyway). I declined because, as I said, it was 4 bites. When the server came back I asked for separate checks and found out mine was comped. I really felt like that was above and beyond. He had already offered to make it better but there was just no need. We were fine without anything being done. We will definitely be back read more

I was really excited by this menu. in fact we stayed in the area just so we could eat lunch here. I honestly believe that we went on an off day. The base of the food we got was great but the execution was off. We ordered the hand cut gorgonzola chips. There was barely any gorgonzola and there were soggy with alfredo. They weren't even warm and were so soggy you couldn't pick them up. By trying a few of the non soggy chips i could tell the app could be awesome if made right and served fresh. I got the 3 sliders and they were also cold. Tasty but cold. Sweet potato fries were cold and inedible. My hubby got a dozen raw oysters and those were great. He also had the crawfish crepes which were cold but pretty darn good regardless. I would like to go back here but only on a Friday or Saturday night. I hope our visit was a fluke and not the norm! read more

Georgia Blue never disappoints! I've been to this location several times. We went on a Saturday when there is live music. Service: We took a seat at the bar as we awaited a table. The bar tender ignored us until we spoke up. I chose the house Merlot and my BF decided upon Gin/Tonic which was very weak. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Entree: I chose the sautéed crawfish salad and my boyfriend chose his usual the duck salad. No complaints about the crawfish. However the duck salad is brought out as a leg-quarter and you have to pull the meat off the bone. Very tedious this should be done for you. read more
