The service is average. Young staff at the front counter much more interested in chatting with each other than greeting guests. Wait staff is way over worked but genuinely tries. Main reason for below average review is the place is colder than my refrigerator. It was pouring down rain today and sitting in a place where temp was about 65° with damp clothes was miserable. Good experience. Grilled chicken plate was solid but nothing special and not really seasoned at all. Sweet potatoes were good however. The shrimp and grits are very good and seasoned well but after half a plate the seasoning becomes too much. The wings were very good. The Cesar salad was very good. Server was nice but didn't keep glasses topped as much as we'd like but she was spread thin so we understand. The food is mediocre at best. I feel like it is a over-priced for what you get. It's really just glorified bar food. This place could be so much more. After 10 hrs driving decided to give this place a try and not a disappointment!! The parking lot was full as it was lil after 6 on a Friday night - thought we'd have aa long wait but was told only ten mins and was seated within that time or sooner. Staff - 5 out of 5 everyone that greeted or served us was very friendly we were served in a very timely manner for cocktails appetizer salad n meal. Food n beverages 4.5 out of 5 strawberry lemon drop rmartinis seemed lil high priced but I had two so must have been DELIsh! appetizers came out exceptionally quick ( we prefer lil time between everything so we don't get filled up so fast n rather have enough time to enjoy couple cocktails n relax !). We had the crawfish bites - portion perfect for two, I had the Mardi Gras- very very very good plated beautiful- I'm a food guru so I always love pretty food!! Portion size a for sure five stars! My fella had Bayou catfish - he really liked the in house grits, catfish was good but lacking lil in flavor n lil dry n smaller then expected portion for entree item- was debating on catfish or the seafood linguine- next time because :) we will go back ! He will have that. Yum. Yum. And more Yum. The only negative was that our shoe string fried onions were stale and cold but management immediately took care of that and brought us a fresh batch. I love rice and beans. My wife's were fantastic. Lots of great flavor as one would expect. My oyster and fish Po-Boy was the best I've had in years. Served on a LARGE toasted hoagie roll. Okay, the food is pretty good. But twice I have ordered takeout sandwiches with a side like fries. I never get ketchup, salt, or plastic wear. I have to ask then then they go back and take about a minute to fill up a cup and bring it out and present it to me. The bag is knotted closed, so I have to undue it. They seem very nonchalant at takeout, talking on phone while I stand there. BS Get better. read more

2/10/24 Sat, restaurant was not crowded, is clean and quiet in the smaller dining room, food is excellent as usual but service quite slow today, disappointing because it is usually very good. Typically this is one of our go to restaurants in Madison but a bit frustrating relative to slow service. Georgia Blue, you are better than this. read more

The environment is just as good as their food, and that's saying a lot. I have eaten at Georgia Blue dozens of times and I have never been disappointed. Their staff is efficient and extremely friendly. Try the Shrimp & Grits or the Atlantic Salmon. read more

Service at the bar was great but the food was disappointing. I ordered the smothered chicken breast, the chicken was extremely over cooked and crumbled when I attempted to cut into it. The gravy had quite a bit of pepper but little salt and the sautéed onions where crunchy. The mashed potatoes where very dry and lacked flavor, then the corn on the cob was very soggy with little seasoning. The plate has potential but the they missed execution. read more

GB, you've got to do better. I eat here a few times a month with a crew of people, sometimes at night, and sometimes at lunch, but spend a decent amount of money at this location. In the last several years, the service has diminished, and food quality has fallen considerably. I love to support our local restaurants, but I'm struggling to pay $30-$50 a head while lowering the standards. Either lower the prices so she know what we are getting, or do some more training on the floor, in the kitchen, and with food vendor purchases. read more

10/3 Most of the time the food from Georgia Blue is on point. However, excited to try the new location, their ability to serve the food I'm used to fell short. Service 5/5 The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was super courteous, always nearby checking on us, and truly enjoyable to be around. Food 2/5 I got crawfish tails as an appetizer and they were so good but I quickly forgot that experience when I got my entree. I ordered the Hamburger Steak w/Gravy, cream corn, and cole slaw. I added a a side of onion strings. It was served to me sooooooo messy. (See picture). The sides were in side ramekins and the hamburger steak was so perfectly round it looks pre-frozen processed. I'm not saying it was, but there was little flavor in the meat itself and it was pretty dry. Honestly after having amazing hamburger steaks at other places, this was not anywhere close to their flavor or quality. I do not recommend this the hamburger steak. I was so let down watching my co-workers get huge servings of fried chicken and perfectly prepared overly stuffed sandwiches then looking at my measly piece of over-worked flavorless hamburger steak. Not to mention, they forgot my cornbread. The sides were good. Onion strings are always amazing. Environment 1/5 We were put in a side room. The new restaurant is gorgeous, classic yet rustic modern, but horrible when it comes to sound. By the time they filled the room, it was so loud I was exhausted trying to talk over everything and just ate my meal without conversing much. I think we all did that. When you want to enjoy a meal with co-others, friends or family, ask to sit outside if the weather is nice. The indoor seating, especially in the room, was not the place to enjoy a meal while enjoying company. Beautiful interior does not equate beautiful experience. Some strategically placed acoustic blocks on the walls or ceiling could dramatically help. Overall I'll be back, but maybe the Flowood location where quality and environment are much better. 10/4 The owner commented and asked why I didn't bring these issues to the attention of my server. To answer that, it was way too loud in the room to comfortable express my issues. In addition I was with a large group and I didn't want to disrupt the experience of my group out of respect. Normally before posting a review I go to Facebook and message the business (it's more convenient than a website and I know where my message ended up). But GB has disabled messaging and reviews on their FB pages. I don't trust website feedback forms because honestly I've never gotten a response when filling one out. FB garners better response tracking. And after the fact, I've seen businesses place the blame in the reviewer for not telling someone during the issue. I hope that's not what he's trying to do. This is an unacceptable practice and I'm sad it's used. First you have to create an environment conducive of feedback in the moment. I do appreciate the owner responding and I'm glad to hear they are getting the acoustics figured out. I will probably go back after a while to try again and st that point update me review. To the owner who replied...meet your customers where they are. Websites for feedback is dated and only convenient for the business owner. This location has THE WORST service. We were a party of 8 on Easter sunday around noon. Our waitress took our drink and food order then did not come to our table 1 single time until she brought the check. We sat for an hour waiting in food and after food arrived by the food kitchen runner without a single refill. She made no attempts to service our table whatsoever. What appeared to be 2 managers on duty, stood around talking to each other, i finally was able to flag one down and let him know not only did we need refills but also that part of the food was wrong. He corrected the situation but never returned to the table to follow up. Guess who else didn't come to our table? Our waitress. We were getting our own water refills from the pitcher near the hostess stand. Not a single person asked why. Being a party of 8 we were charged automatic gratuity so it's very clear she had no desire to work for any of it,she'd get it regardless. We will never return to this establishment. Do they care? This place is in a shopping mall, and shopping malls usually have hit or miss restaurants. We had been chilling by the pool and were in the margarita mindset when we called up the Uber and headed here. Walking in, this place is big. We were sat quickly and had a pretty friendly waiter. My phone had died, and I asked him if I could borrow his charger, and he brought it out like I was a friend. The fried pickles are great. I don't eat ranch dressing, so I got some of their comeback sauce. Their comeback sauce is one the best I've ever had, and I've had plenty. The pickles were fried good, and weren't dry. I got the burger sliders as my appetizer with fries. They were pretty good. They were a little dry, but some mayo quickly fixed that. The fries were good. I also got to try some of their roast beef, and it was very good. It was served on a poboy bun and was a massive portion. They have a good beer selection, and I went with an IPA. One little caveat, the shots are waaaay expensive. I got 6 fireball shots for the table and a beer. The bar tab ended up being almost $50.
