Just left a great lunch, and an awesome atmosphere at Georgia Blue! Randall, our server, was super friendly and helpful when I had no earthly idea what I wanted to eat! Randall literally chose my meal for me today and I had the fried crawfish wrap w/ sweet potato fries! --YUM. The hubs went with boneless chicken "Blue Plate" with macaroni and cheese and turnip greens. His meal was delicious as well!-- don't ask how I know! Gluten free review-- GB has a handful of GF options-- and they are so marked on their menus! I believe your options are Shrimp & Grits Red Beans & Rice Steaks GB Chicken And all their salads. I got the chef salad-- just make sure to tell them no bread on the side! Very good and filling salad-- can be large enough for two meals. I only knock them down a star because the last time I went i got the chef salad and told her it was a gluten allergy order and still got the bread brought out on the plate. I've had some good meals here, at least in there former location but as of late we've been very disappointed three times in a row. Portions have significantly shrunk while prices have gotten hefty. Gin Martinis came so sweet as to be in drinkable, when we asked what was in the martini we got a response which showed clearly we were being mislead and the wait staff did know about what they were attempting to lie about What a poisoning of the waters of a place we once cared so much for. I went here yesterday after church with my mother (per her recommendation), and I loved the food; it was awesome. Even though I don't usually like the taste of catfish or grits, my favorite dish was the catfish and grits with a creamy crawfish bayou sauce. Very flavorful, and the portion was a good size. The Paneed Redfish with risotto and fresh veggies was also delicious. I also liked the fried okra, fried crawfish, and peach cobbler. I wasn't disappointed with any of the food. The price of some of the food is a bit on the higher side, but so what. It's good to try local, non-chain restaurants. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because service was too slow for me, and I think I have a fare amount of patience considering I used to teach hard-headed middle school kids, lol! For example, when we first sat down and the waiter took our drink orders, he came back about 7 minutes later with them. Then, when we ordered our appetizers and food, it came at a decent time (I don't expect my food to come out immediately, as I like my food hot and fresh), but the waiter didn't check on us until the end of the meal when our drinks were low. Then, he refilled them. When we ordered our desserts, that took a while, and then we had to wait again for the check. He was nice, but the service was still not superb because of how long it took to order, eat, pay, and leave. Overall, though, I recommend Georgia Blue. read more

Didn't live up to the hype at all. Didn't get to eat with the rest of my family because the kitchen screwed up and put mushrooms on my sandwich, I clearly said no mushrooms and the waitress even repeated it back to me. I'm allergic. Sandwich comes out covered in them. I sent it back and by the time they remake it everyone else has finished their meal. Service was also very lacking and slow. read more

We settled on Georgia Blue, and we did not regret it. The food was pretty good. The server was attentive and friendly. She gave us some good suggestions on what to try. Everything we ate was yummy. We were a party of 10 so we informed our server that we were on a time crunch and needed our checks 30 minutes before we needed to actually leave. We informed her we were ready. After we told the manager AND our server SEVERAL TIMES about how we needed to leave, the manager said it was our fault because we had separate checks instead of one total check. I'm beyond disappointed in Georgia Blue. Before they moved to the big building they're in now, this was literally my favorite place to eat. The food was always great, the service was just as good, and the value was fair. Now that they've moved, everything has gone downhill, and it's absolutely not worth your money. I've given it 3 chances since they moved, and every trip has been more disappointing than the last. I usually get the red beans and rice, the pot roast po-boy, or the bayou catfish. None of these are as good as they used to be. I can't nail down the catfish, but the post roast po-boy has had it's pot roast halved, at least, and there's virtually no gravy on it anymore. The red beans and rice is missing the flavor it used it have, the overall portion size is significantly smaller, it has less sausage in it, and half the Andouille that used to be on top. This is a recurring theme in the new location. They give you less and less of everything, but charge the same money. If they couldn't afford the new location, they shouldn't have moved. I usually order the fettuccine alfredo for my son, and the last time we got that, it was absolutely inedible. It tasted like someone spilled an entire jar of minced garlic into it. My wife and I are both garlic lovers, and we both agreed it was horrible. We sent that back and asked for a kid's pizza, and it was terrible as well, but at least it just had no flavor instead of actually tasting bad. All that being said, the final straw was last Friday. I meet there once a year with a group of friends. We always do it around Christmas. It was my turn to by an appetizer this year, and we've always loved the GB Nachos. So, I ordered them. Now, you have to understand that historically the plate of nachos was big, and a great appetizer for 3-4 people. Imagine my surprise when they bring out this tiny little plate of nachos that was barely enough for one person. Seriously, it wasn't even on a full sized plate. It was on *maybe* an 8 inch plate. So, I thought, well, maybe they noticed a lot of waste when people order this dish, so they cut the size down and charge less. Nope, still $10.99 like it's always been. I was *extremely* upset about this, and I can promise you I will not be returning, and I suggest you do the same. Update responding to GB's response: Exactly. The prices have not changed, and that's he problem. The portion sizes may be consistent across all locations, but an order of GB nachos is *no more* than a quarter of the size it used to be, and it still costs the same amount it always has. Do not go here if you have any sort of handicap!!! It is very handicap-unfriendly!!! No elevator to 2nd floor. I could not attend a friend's party on 2nd floor due to lack of elevator and long very steep stairs!! The front desk staff was very unsympathetic to my situation and made no attempt to help! My 69 year old mother and I visited the Madison location. Our waiter Jason G was horrible. He kept forgetting items that we requested. And when he finally brought my mom's lid for her cup, he dropped it on the table. I also placed a to-go order that I had to wait 50 minutes for. And our waiter kept giving false hope about it coming out . It's like he was getting a kick out of having us to continue to wait . But it was guests who came in after us that ate and got their to-go food and left while we were still waiting on our to-go order. So here we go still waiting and our server asked "if we would like to speak to a manager because that's what people usually do." Hmm that was very stereotypical. The manager Jacob (I had to ask him his name) comes over without introducing himself and started making excuses, "saying how the kitchen is behind and how they have been trying to hire more staff, etc"... But how are they so behind when others that ordered food after us, got theirs before us. Also, he asked if I wanted my money back or the food because he could have it out to me in " 2 minutes" after we have already waited 50 minutes. I told him I wanted my money back and then he said "it would be hard for him to refund me since I paid with my card." So, he offered me a gift card for 2/3 items that I had ordered to-go. I had ordered 2 Bayou Catfish and 1 Chicken Alfredo Pasta. So then the manager Jacob tells me that he only saw the 2 Bayou Catfish and not my Chicken Alfredo so I pulled out my receipt and showed him and told him that the giftcard should be for those 3 items . So he gives me the gift card and when I got home to check the balance it was only $40 for the 2 Bayou Catfish and not the Chicken Alfredo too. My whole tab was $102.59. This was unacceptable and such a horrible experience. read more

Beautiful new building. Very cute decor. Super friendly staff. The food was just ok. My husband had a burger, the paper from the cheese was still on it. He would not let me say anything. He said his burger was dry. The bun looked good and fresh. I had the crab cake po boy, I deconstructed it to eat it. The crab cakes (2) tasted good, albeit a bit small, they each sat atop a fried green tomato (tasty), one piece of lettuce on the whole sandwich and barely any remoulade brushed on the stiff and dry bread. We both had sweet potato fries. Those were fine but pretty certain they aren't hand cut in house. The place was very busy for a Tuesday night. I prefer to go to locally owned non-chain restaurants but it might be a while before we go back. I am willing to give it another chance. Sorry I didn't take photos of the food. read more

The fried pickles were not really my thing. You have to love sour pickles. The bathrooms are very clean. The only downside is the cheese grits. They have corn in them.
