Open 24 hours!!! What a great find! I decided to give this place a try after Yelping the immediate area for restaurants close to my hotel. My first visit was such a great overall experience for me that I just had to return before I left town. I had the country fried steak during visit #1, and dare I say that it was the absolute best CFS I've ever had, anywhere. The breading was light and flavorful, the meat wasn't gristly whatsoever! The gravy I think is what shocked me most; flavorful, not overly salted or seasoned or leave a flour aftertaste in your mouth. My second visit put their corned beef hash and eggs in front of me, and was equally satisfying. Generous portions, good flavor and consistency... the only downside if I absolutely H A D to choose one, is no hash browns. I took a slice of their carrot cake to go to have the following day. It was better than most carrot cakes I've had in restaurants thrice as posh! HUMONGOUS!! Enough to share! Service both times were absolutely stellar, thank you kind waitresses!! Even the service help working the floor were attentive and responsive in keeping my beverages topped off and dirty plates bussed. I'm confused as to why others have given this place such shoddy reviews, frankly. Uhhh, actually... upon a more discerning read of what they had to say, I'm really not surprised LOL. Look... if you are in the area, are hungry, and looking for a casual environment which to enjoy a freshly prepared meal served up plentiful and hot in quick fashion, stop by Georgia Diner. Not sure what's going on with The Diner, but the food and service were of very poor quality. Several items were out and our food arrived in stages. The syrup came in packets and the soda was flat. A real let down. Won't go back again. read more

The curry was very good. That's right curry at a diner! We were surprised how delicious this dish was. It had the right amount of spice with authentic flavors. The only thing missing was a side of naan. Service was cool, the price was good for the portion size. What would make this place even better? My favorite greasy spoon! I stop by here on occasion for an egg and cheese biscuit - they fry the egg instead of pour it from a container, just they way I like it. All yolky. Mmmm. Probably not the best place for the cholesterol conscience, but the staff here is full of interesting characters that will tell you some stories. Keeping in mind that this is diner food and not a 5-star restaurant.. This place, about 10 years ago, was pretty good. We'd actually seek it out. Over the years it's gotten pretty bad. The meats are mediocre and the veggies taste like they're out of a can. I went there a for my final time over the Summer. I figured, "Ok, cheap food and they're right here." The service here is HORRIBLE!! the restaurant was not busy and it took about 5 minutes for a server to come. After we ordered she brought out our soups in a timely manner but she forgotten to give us cups for water!! After trying the soup I had to add salt because the soup was bland!! Then the main course came out....I ordered seafood portofino....the portion was small considering the $19 cost that came with it.....I also had to add salt to this bland dish. My husband and I just recently moved to the area and we thought we'd try this place since we're new to town and I really wish we had picked somewhere else. The food was incredibly greasy - more than the normal as my bread was sopping wet and dripping grease - and I wasn't able to eat my meal. Stopped by because it's open 24 hours, and I was in the area. Normally, I go to Marietta Diner. So I was expecting something similar with extremely large portions of food, but it is quite different! The place was pretty empty (with the exception of a large group), but it still took a while for the hostess to actually come and seat us. Service as a whole was very slow and a little awkward. Otherthan that we got exactly what we were looking for. All of our food came out hot, tasted good, and the entrees we ordered were reasonably priced. I will say that I wouldn't necessarily choose this place as a dinner go-to spot, but if it's 1 am and I am in the area I wouldn't be opposed to eating here! read more

Matzo ball soup is sooooo good. I had the Salisbury steak mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife had the fried catfish and shrimp everything was so good. Louise is so sweet and gave us great service. I would recommend to anyone who loves comfort food. read more

Went here as a spur of the moment decision. It's a nice lil spot. Smelled great when I walked through the door. Staff was smiling and friendly. Didn't have to wait a long time to be seated. The menu is pretty diverse. Some classic american food type of stuff as we'll as some offerings from other cultures. Food was good though. Just wanted larger portions. read more

Popped in for lunch with a group of like 25-30. Conveniently located (walking distance) to the Sonesta Gwinett Place where our weekend workshop was being held. We were seated in a separate dining area in the back and from what I could see, we were seated, orders taken and served fairly quickly. We did not sit all together at one big table, but the colleagues I sat with were all satisfied with their food. I was here back in April for the same workshop (different group) and can say they have been accommodating and friendly on both occasions. The food is of at least average quality and on par for other diners I have been to. The service and staff on the other hand are above average. Definitely worth a walk over if you're at the Sonesta and want to eat outside the hotel. read more

Nothing particularly special about this place regular run of the mill diner. Menu was more Mediterranean (even the decor) than "American Diner", menu was big lots of choices. Took a while to get food but when we did it was good the house fries are what stood out to me, but overall I will stick to cracker barrel lol read more

We're we're seated fairly fast. At first glance places seems nice, but since we waited a while for the food had time to look around. The booths are dusty, not from a day or two, looks likes its never been wiped. The cake display fridge had droplets of water running down from condensation, which can only mean it's not being held at the right temperature. My sister salad look good once we received it, my food came a few minutes later, it appears okay. Fries tasted like they've been under a heat lamp, & the fried chicken was frozen & just reheated. Always fast, always courteous and always good. Not out of this world good, but very consistent and always a pleasure to dine. The burgers are always great. The entrees are always good. The salads are always fresh and the home cooked style meals are always flavorful, filling and hot. Fast food served with a happy staff. Ask the staff about their desserts. If they are fresh, which they will be more than happy to inform you, are out of this world. On occasions, I have had the desserts a couple of days old and not near the experience as the fresh desserts. The all you can eat baked chicken is good. Well flavored, juicy and filling although the pieces are a little undersized but that is where the all you can eat comes in. I give One Star for the pleasant waitress. The food was terrible. My burger definitely tasted like it had been sitting in the freezer a while and cooked on a grill that hadn't been cleaned . Price was very high for the quality of food. I should of gone to Chick fil A and spent less for better quality .This poor place is hanging on by a thread . I have been in the area for 2 weeks and have had very little luck finding really good food that wasn't terrible for me. This place has a great menu to suit anyone's diet. This place is chock full of southern hospitality, and I love it! Georgia Diner is open 24/7 and is very affordable despite large and tasty portion sizes. The interior and staff are both very accommodating, with some notable Greek influences being featured in the menu and decor, although they have the expected breakfast, lunch, and dinner staples as well. I got the "Farmer's Omelet" stuffed with sausage, cheese, and home fries and it was delicious! I'm appreciative of there being a local business (aside from Waffle House and IHOP) that is open whenever you need it, and look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Just passing through town on the way to NC from SoFL. We have a large group traveling and did a search of restruants around the hotel. We decided on this diner because it has something on the menu for everyone. Service was friendly, seating is good where you are not piled up on each other or other diners. Food was very tasty and generous in portion size. Our meals went from burgers and catfish poboys to full entrees of liver, onions, gravy and mashed and open faced turkey/gravy/mashed. Open 24 hours AND they serve so many different types of cuisines how could anyone not find this promising?! Diners are known for being low priced but providing an abundance of food and amazing desserts with a homey atmosphere. When I moved to the area I knew I had to give this diner a try and I was pretty excited to do so one Saturday afternoon. When we first walked in it looked like a combination of a few different styles of decorations, which doesn't bother me, just giving the full affect. It was a little stuffy but not unpleasantly so and it was relatively empty at the time. We were seated a few minutes later and began reading the plethora of menu items listed in front of us. As we were discussing meals and what we were interested in, our waitress came by to get our drink order. She was an elderly woman who appeared to be in her 70's and at first seemed friendly as she took my drink order. When she asked my fiance what he would like to drink he replied very politely with "nothing for me please but thank you ma'am". She then made a very distasteful facial expression and rolled her eyes when she asked if he was serious. Let me tell you, my fiance almost never orders a drink when we go out to eat, if he does he normally doesn't even finish half of it. When he repeated that he was fine and smiled, she literally said "ok whatever fine" and walked off mumbling under her breath. We would have gotten up to leave right then and there but we were too hungry and knew on a Saturday at that time it would be busy anywhere else. So we figured out what we wanted and waited for her return. I ordered the steak with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables and my fiance had the philly with fries. Everything was extremely bland. There was no flavor at all! The philly was so small and basically covered with a huge blob of cheese and very little meat. The fries that came with it were a tiny handful, maybe a total of 12 fries. We rushed through the meal because we honestly just wanted to leave. We felt very uncomfortable with the server because we saw her being nice to the few other customers that came in but pretty much ignored us the entire rest of the time. After eating, my fiance wanted to go to the restroom to wash his hands so he asked the server if she could point him in the right direction. She was extremely rude to him and gave him a huge attitude, as if him asking her a question was the biggest nuance in her entire life. He stayed calm and polite and continued to show her respect because he was raised to always do so but I had enough. We were contemplating taking the dessert to go because the cakes looked more promising than the meal but at this point I wanted to get out of there. We payed our bill and walked out. I'm not sure if any of the other food is good, so I can only speak for our specific meals, but based on service alone we will never return to this establishment. I've never felt so uncomfortable and disturbed in my life. The server was yelling at the other staff and would just stop and stand in the middle of the diner to watch the TV and never once refilled my drink. Hmm, food was alright, but the service was much better. They need to trim down their menu by at least 1/3 and concentrate on what they do best. I couldn't get a straight answer as to which items were the most popular. (Is this an Italian place, a Greek place, an Indian place in sheep's clothing?) This is a common flaw in diners though, so perhaps they're right and I'm wrong. Anyway, I suggest ditching the laminated menu and going w/ a printed menu that's easily updated. My fried chicken was competently prepared (though I probably wouldn't order it again), as was hubby's chicken fried steak. The chicken noodle soup was quite good, and by extension perhaps the matzo ball soup would be good as well. But, I have a feeling that I would have liked their breakfast foods better, so if we go back again, I'll try that. read more

Great service here; unfortunately the food is just average diner food. If you have a hankering for some diner food, this will probably satisfy it but I highly recommend Marietta Diner instead. This place is just off I-85's exit 104 and surrounded by a bunch of eats. It has plenty of parking with many booths and tables inside. It's brightly lit with the cake display off to one side. I've read about the cake but have yet to try them. Our waitress was cheerful and able to answer our questions about the large and diverse menu offerings. I ended up going with one of the omelettes and found it to be a-ok. I'm not sure whether I finished it or not since it was a pretty large portion. Was happy to see they were open on the 4th of July. Main restaurant area is clean and has less of a diner feel than at a Dennys. They have Coke products in glass bottles, I'm guessing for to go customers...kinda cool. We were greeted immediately by 3 smiling ladies. Put an instant thought that we were at the right place. Very poor service. Waitress didn't inform us of specials, soup of the day or tell us that the sides didn't apply to one of the meals. Was seated quickly but when we said we needed more time to order, the waitress never returned. I had to track her down to place our order. The prices were very high for a side of fries $4.99 that we thought were included in the meal and we're not informed otherwise. One meal was good the other was okay. Dessert were okay but not worth $7 for a piece of cake. I will not be going back. read more

While it's technically a "Diner" the food is of course varied but actually delicious..the best part is that the folks that work here are friendly and caring. My last meal here was the last week of January during the "Atlantica" snow storm, and these folks were the only ones open along Pleasant Hill Road. This is one of the best places in Lawrenceville. The classic diner food is here the best. Dessert is amazing. The staff always greet me and my friends and treat us with the upmost respect even though were college kids and we get the assumption that were noisy. If you haven't tried there food yet, go now. I always get one of there many burgers.. Way better than other places (5 guys, farm burger, and grind house). Occasionally I switch It up and get there wings. Price is good too. I've been to many diners over the years, and so many of them are just really bad. However, today was my first time at the Georgia Diner. I went for lunch... great service while I waited. I ordered the club sandwich which was delicious and had fresh ingredients (avocado, tomato, etc.)! The only downside is that it's just outside the Perimeter up I-85. I don't live or work there, but I know that when I'm up in that area, I will certainly dine there again. read more
