Let me start with the ambiance. Very nice decor, small and intimate restaurant. We absolutely enjoyed the music playing while there. Gives you a southern vibe with savory meal options. The server mentioned they even have a DJ on one of the weekend days !! So we decided to try a little bit of everything it seemed. I was pleasantly surprised that the Shrimp & Grits incorporated chicken sausage. It was more than feeling as a meal, the grits were creamy and the shrimp couldn't have been better. Now the chicken wings stole the show for our table. Always nice when your food comes out piping hot & fresh but when it's seasoned perfectly, what more can you ask for !! The greens were ok, can't quite put my finger in it and the Mac & cheese needed a little bit more love. Now the breakfast potatoes and the biscuits were another star. Stuffed can't even describe how we felt when getting up from the table. Now I will say that waiting for our food to come out took longer than we expected, but appreciated that it came out hot and delicious for the most part. My daughter raved about this restaurant for months. So we finally decided to go for her husband's birthday party for brunch. I normally look over certain things but.. List of issues: 1-food was not seasoned 2-waitress did not know how to answer menu questions about meals like what type of breakfast steak...ribeye or ? 3-waiting 20+ mins for a child's pancake order with no syrup & an additional 5-7 more mins for syrup?? 5- double charged for city & state taxes 6-served sliced cherry tomatoes instead of whole sliced tomatoes on a BLT??! 7-All breakfast meals we're supposed to be served with toast...NO ONE in a party of 13 received toast 8-Only a "Consultant" on property to address these concerns and he advised that he was not even employed with that restaurant?? I came here on a Sunday. There wasn't a wait and we were seated as soon as we walked in. The restaurant was clean, the waiter was tentative and the ambiance was very laid back. I ordered a turkey burger and my friend ordered the carrot cake waffles and chicken. The turkey burger was ok. More of a thin patty and a little flavor. The fries were good. The chicken was really crispy and fresh and I liked the carrot cake waffles. Not overly sweet and you can taste the flavor. read more

It's Halloween time y'all and I been eyeballing this Black Women's own restaurant for a while now. So, today I'm stopping in. Came in the DJ was playing Micheal Jackson Thriller prefect for Halloween. The staff was amazing the guest was happy and the vibe was popping. I decided to sit at the bar considering it was just me and the dining room was packed. I started off with the bottomless Mimosa for $29 "YIKES". After looking over the menu and saw they have shrimp and grits you know I had to get that with a side of soft scrambled eggs. The meal came out beautifully and very tasteful. I was not disappointed. Customer service was great! We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened. The hostess had us wait a few minutes while he got the table ready. Once seated we were greeted by our server Joey who offered recommendations of dishes to eat. I ordered the catfish and grits. The catfish was fried and seasoned to perfection and the grits were nice and creamy. My mom ordered the breakfast platter with pancakes bacon and eggs and her pancakes were nice and fluffy. The stuff smothered biscuit was huge! And my mom's fiancé couldn't even finish his serving. Joey was an amazing server and overall our experience was a positive one. I arrived a few minutes late for my reservation, but I did call ahead to see if that was okay. I was told we could be seated right away, when we got there we had to wait another 20 min. Once we got seated it took a while for the servers to get back to the table. We ordered the dip and it never came, our meals took a while to come out. I met a friend here for brunch on a Saturday. I have been wanting to try this place for some time now. We were seated almost immediately and the hostess was really nice. The dining area was packed a bit tight. The tables were close together, but it wasn't too bad. They are close though. I felt like the prices were a smidge pricey, but it's the Atlanta area. There is an automatic 20% gratuity if your party is over a certain limit or your total is over a certain limit. The food was absolutely amazing. My friend got chicken and waffles and it tasted so good. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. I got a carrot cake waffle and stuffed sausage biscuit. Everything was good. Having never been, I made a reservation for breakfast because I was not sure how busy they would be at 10:00am. When I walked in at 9:58 there was no host at the host stand. (Entrance) I waited a few minutes and noticed that my son arrived and went outside to greet him. When we came back in, we waited and a guy walked up and said he'd seat us because the hostess was busy. (No hostess to be seen and only four tables were sat when we arrived. It was pretty empty) The waitress quickly came to the table for drink orders and was very nice and attentive the entire time. I now see how she was pushing the upcharges at the time, I was thinking everything was going well. I ordered the black bean quesadillas. (I was charged $16.99 the online price is $15.99) The waitress asked if I would like a side and suggested roasted vegetables. I said that sounded good, my son ordered the stuffed biscuit and she asked if he would like a side and suggested eggs and he said yes. The food came it was all good, not great just good. The roasted vegetables were not what I was thinking as a side with a quesadilla. It was a small ramekin with a cauliflower, a broccoli and a few tiny carrots. The price for this tiny little serving of veggies was $6.99. The price for the side eggs was $7.99. I ordered a to-go order to take home to my husband which was the same as mine but with collard greens instead of roasted veg. I ordered a coffee and my son ordered a juice the cost for this breakfast was $107.20 She added a 20% tip on the total bill. This means that she tipped herself $4.60 to put a to-go order in a bag. Her total tip was $16.18. It is one thing if I choose to tip 20% on the total bill but it is not okay for someone else to decide this for me. I tried to call the resteraunt to see if their policy is to add a 20% gratuity to all checks and they do not answer their phone. They do have additional tip suggestions on their receipt so I assume that every purchase is charged 20% gratuity even though it also states on the receipt that they charge 20% on tables of 6 or more and checks over $80. and to-go orders will be charged 18%. So really no matter how you look at it, I was ripped off!!! I did not see this posted anywhere, but to be fair, I was not sitting there with my guard up checking to see if I was going to be ripped off today. I was there to enjoy a meal with my kid. This is the kind of stuff that makes it hard for all of the great restaurants out there! Having been in the catering business for many years I really hate it when people don't treat their customers well and just try to get one over on people. Just for the record I usually tip 20+% simply for the wait staff. This experience makes me want to rethink that. One additional very important note is that this waitress changed prices to get our check to add up to more than $80.00. That is straight up fraud. read more

The food is sooo delicious!! My friend's son recommended this Brunch. We came to celebrate a friend's birthday. They cook all food fresh. I had the peach French toast and it was on point! The customer service was superb! We ate all of our food. It was fulfilling. The ere was enough space to sit our party of 5. Our server took great care of us. Sadly this brunch spot could easily be 5 stars. This was my third time in this establishment and has been met with a similar experience each time. Food is extremely good I ordered chicken and waffles and it was amazing per usual. My girl ordered catfish and grits which were also great. The downside was us having reservations and even after being sat we still ended up waiting for about 30 minutes just for someone to come to us and ask what we wanted to drink. There was a huge party directly beside us and even tables that were sat after us received their food as we were waiting for drinks. This is the only thing keeping me from ever dining in again. Decided to go here with a friend on a Friday because we saw they had patio seating. We got there around 1pm and upon arrival we were told the patio was closed for that day. The restaurant is pretty but I will say the music seemed a bit too loud. I could barely hear my friend. It wasn't super busy (there were about 3 tables filled). Our server wasn't horrible nor exceptional good. She probably checked on us 2 times & we had to find someone to get her to give us the check. My friend had the grilled cheese and loved it. I had catfish and fries. The catfish was great, I feel like the fries were undercooked. I was excited to try the cold pressed juices they had but the server told me they didn't make any that day so I got a strawberry lemonade. It tasted very sweet , not much like lemonade. I'm just now seeing that there was pork sausage added to my omelette on the inside when I pacifically asked the waiter if I could get steak instead! She replied "yes but it'll be an up charge" I was totally okay with that! Now as a Muslim who's never eaten pork before I'm beyond pissed for someone to be so careless and not listen to what I asked for! Now about the price, on their menu the steak and eggs is $27.99 and coffee is $2.99. Water was $5.00, orange juice $4.99, breakfast potatoes was $4.99, my omelette was supposed to be $15.99 plus the $9.99 up charge for the steak! Our total comes up to $71.94 before taxes! Now I know they have a rule about an automatic gratuity 20% tip for a party of 6 or $80 and over! But without my knowledge tip was already added and prices were changed on the food we ordered! Even after the prices were changed before taxes it adds up to $77.94! So when I saw that totally when the waiter showed me on the notepad I glanced and was okay with it and left her a tip as well not knowing what was happening! For anyone that has eaten there or likes to go there you need to ALWAYS ALWAYS CHECK before you pay! I will NEVER go there again and nor will I ever suggest them to anyone else! So true story, I've had reservations at this restaurant for weeks and weeks. Something always came up and i had to cancel. But I made it today. I'm very particular about my waffles. I prefer them to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. While the flavor was ok (reminded me of a spice cake more than carrot cake), it was just rather meh. Soft. I would get the chicken again, the waffles no Corn griddle pancakes (maybe not the exact name)- 5 stars hands down. these were a hit. Surprised i hadn't heard people talk about these before. The texture and flavor just perfect. I litetaly wanted to devour them but sadly they were not mine... i ordered the waffles . Chicken sausage- these were ok. Nothing spectacular. FYI, parking is street or lot, there's no particular parking area for the restaurant. I went for brunch on Sunday. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait at least 20 minutes to be seated. Service was slow, but the music playlist kept us upbeat while waiting. Once seated, we were informed that the restaurant was out of eggs. It really baffles me when restaurants run out of the essentials. That changed what we anticipated on ordering. So, we got fish and grits and a turkey burger. My grits were not hot; I had to ask for fresh grits, then ask someone else because my server got a large party and forgot my request. Also, the turkey burger was messsyyy, do not recommend. The stuffed biscuit left nothing to be desired! Amazing flavor, the gravy stole the show.
