Prices were competitively high for the amount of food and the poor service our group of 12 received. We had a large group but we frequently dine out together. Neither was the restaurant was the restaurant busy. Some of us received our meals in decent time. However, the wait time between ordering and receiving meals for others was quite comical. Part of our breakfast orders would come out (example... pancakes) then literally 20 mins later the rest of the meal would come out. We're all aware that service can be slow sometimes but slow and parts of meals coming out randomly(?) Now that was a new one .... different. Food was good but it would have been nice if we could have eaten our entire meal together vs piece-mealed. We asked our server was serving meals like this usual. Very good coffee: very dark, our waiter brought a cup of hot water with it. Neither of us watered it down, but I know some folks who would have. Food was excellent. I upgraded my side to country potatoes and felt it was worth it. They were fantastic. Pork chop was thick enough and moist inside. Wife's pancakes were also very good. Eggs done right and not over seasoned. Grits were amazing. My wife likes grits, but rarely finishes them. She cleaned these up. Service was good, but leisurely. Maybe more like a 3.5 like the food was decent for breakfast but service could be a little better. There were two of us in our party. We had a maybe 20 minute wait even though the table were not full and they were cleaned off so that was a little confusing. After we were seated our server came and took our drink order. Im not sure what happened but our drinks took forever to come out almost like he had forgotten to put it in. They came out right before our meal and that was after asking about them. We had a lovely server but the chicken was not cooked through - we had 2 orders of chicken and waffles and both orders were undercooked. Goodness knows who else had undercooked food.... We were offered to get new plates made - we did not want them and asked to have our full meal comped. The manager demanded we pay for our drinks even after the inconvenience of (1) being exposed to undercooked chicken (2) now having to find a new place to eat (3) the time wasted. This isn't a terrible spot. The food was good. The service on the other hand is not the greatest. We were there for over an hour. That is too long to be at a restaurant. My food took 45mins to get to me. Once we were ready for the check, our waiter was no where to be seen. We actually had one of the food runners come up to me because he noticed I was annoyed. He grabbed our waiter after waiting 15mins just to get the check when we were done eating. Minus the service, you should really get the Huevos Rancheros. It is so delicious and MASSIVE! Stopped by for a Tuesday lunch. There were two other tables outside of us there. Our server was great and friendly. They checked in on us and our food came out relatively quickly. I got the shrimp and grits, which was around $20. The portion was huge. I liked that the shrimp came in a separate bowl for the grits. It was very light in flavor. Not salty, but still savory. I brought my mom here for brunch on a quiet Tuesday morning during the holiday week. It was our first time visiting. While I would return, I do want to note the positives and negatives. Positives: Excellent coffee! Hot and fresh and also serves decaf. Food was hot and fresh and EXCELLENT runny eggs! Music was quiet enough to talk (which I appreciated). Needing improvement: The restaurant must have been very understaffed this day. Several tables hadn't been cleared and the floors under the tables that hasn't been cleared weren't swept. Not a very appetizing sight upon entry into the restaurant. The hostess stand was cluttered and no on one was there to greet guests. This makes the vibe a bit off-putting. In general, the vibe is off anyway. I don't know if it's the lighting, or the temperature of the establishment (it was cold inside the restaurant...in late December), or the décor...I can't quite put my finger on it, but the restaurant doesn't feel welcoming. As a matter of fact, we did see people come in, take a look around, and leave while we were there. The server was very sweet but it very well could have been her first day based on the poor quality of service. She was slow to come to our table when we first sat down, took forever to bring our coffee, and was slow on refills and checking on us. Water was never offered, and when I finally asked for a glass of water, she just brought me a glass and never offered anything to my mother. The coffee was great but wasn't serviced with any fixings (sugar, Splenda, etc.). I actually had to get up and get my own sweetener. The creamer was just little plastic pods that you find at the gas station...I expected higher quality. My mom had an omelet with a biscuit, which was very good, but the server never offered butter or jam or syrup for the biscuit. I had Huevos Rancheros which was also very good, the only improvement I would offer was that it was smothered in salsa which overpowered the other flavors. It was a huge portion and I couldn't finish it. The prices are a bit on the high side for the level of hospitality. I expected better quality of service for sure. Overall: I probably will return to give it one more chance and see if it was just an off-day for the service. No disappointment when it comes to the food or coffee! read more

Don't get me wrong, it was a breath of fresh air from your clubby type of brunch spots, but the vibe was still off a bit. Pros: the food was good and it wasn't crowded Cons: the service was extremely slow with only 3 families eating. We were told someone else would be our server then the same person came back to take our order. My husband asked two different people for coffee then finally on the third ask, he received it at the end of the meal. My son wanted steak sauce but no one checked on us until we were ready to go. First of all the host needs to learn customer service. We told him how many people in our party and he told us to go sit at a certain table. No smile and no personality. After we sat down he hands us the menus where we had to reach up to get them. Our waiter seemed very stressed. It took a long time to get our order. Our waiter kept wiping his nose with his hand. Yuck! The bathroom was filthy and out of paper towels. The host was replenishing the paper fork holders and touching the part that you eat with. I started with the Hawaiian Mimosa, and honestly, it was the highlight of my meal. Super refreshing and flavorful--definitely recommend that if you go! For my main dish, I ordered the French Toast Platter with eggs, chicken sausage, and hashbrowns. The presentation was fine, but overall, the meal was just okay. I've definitely had better French toast and the rest of the plate didn't really stand out. If I go back, I'd try something completely different from the menu. Visited at lunch time on a Thursday. The interior has nice, bright decor and a friendly feel. The service was a bit slow but it seemed as though there was one server servicing the entire restaurant. The food we ordered was delicious! Wife had the chicken and waffles. She let me sample the chicken and I was really impressed. The coating had great crunch and flavor. It came with a tasty spicy sauce as well. I had the shakshuka which was also very tasty. It was great with the naan for dipping. I would definitely try this place out again. Bright and clean because it's brand new, open about 2 months. Our server was friendly and answered all our questions. She made a pot of fresh coffee for us and boy howdy that coffee was STRONG! I had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs with cheese. The gravy was different... it said sausage gravy, but it was link sausages, which I've never had sausage gravy made like that. Biscuits were tastier than my gravy, and the eggs were OK. My friend had pancakes, over easy eggs, and bacon. He said bacon was tasty but greasy, eggs were cooked properly...pancakes were the THICKEST pancakes I've ever seen as you can see by the picture! 3 pancakes could've made 8 . The basmati rice is fluffy and appreciate the added veggies for a well balanced dish. Italian Ciao Bella Frittata ($15) - very delicious. The eggs are not over cooked and has a nice mix of veggies and meat. It is a little heavy on potatoes but I didn't mind it at all. Southern Grits Breakfast Bowl $10.25) - the grits are creamy, cheesy and well seasoned. The bacon and scrambled eggs were just as expected. This dish was for the kids so it did the job well. Service/Ambience: They opened this week so waitress was still a bit unfamiliar with all menu items for good recommendations. the owners are very familiar and came out to check up on us too. It's a nice cozy location with good seating. Music (when it was on) is at good low volume. A good place for conversations while dining. Great service overall. Overall, great place that's close to home and is very fairly priced. May be our go-to breakfast dine-out location. Well. What seems like a soul food restaurant ain't so much really. Now don't get me wrong the place is cute and is ran and owned by people of "Indian origin." (but they seem pretty new and they're trying) However one of the waitress who waited our table bought me a cold coffee with cream, no sugar then I had coffee with the cream and the sugar and no spoon when I was finally able to get her attention again I asked her did they have any spoons ‍ (You know so I can stir my coffee) she asked did I need a spoon she So moving forward we (3 of us) order the shrimp and grits entree the grits were a bit loose but seasoned ok the shrimp and gravy part was in a whole separate bowl with so many onions and peppers it was just too much the sauce didn't have much flavor or a taste really and it was very watery like a soup instead of a thicker base. I don't know but a more attentive staff and a better cook would probably set the place off in a better direction but for now ‍ it's a no for me. read more

I ordered the Garden Omelette and the Mimosa Flight. The flavors in the omelette were fantastic, however the presentation was not. The omelette was swimming in liquid from either the spinach or mushrooms. I still ate it and it was very good. The mimosa flight was okay. I've never had ice added to a Mimosa. If the juice and champagne or sparkling wine are chilled, there is no need for ice.
