I've had several appointments and not a complaint for a single one . I'm seen quickly and every step has always been explained and my questions are always answered completely. No one wants an eye injection (unless they are genuinely weird),but Dr Oh and the rest of the Georgia Retina group make it much less awful than it could be.

Unless you are willing to go to Bascolm-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Dr. Jacobson is your best bet. He PERSONALLY took the time to understand my entire medical history (rather than having some tech-schooled, slow-writing medical assistant who understands about half of what you are telling her and writes down even less). Even more importantly, Dr. Jacobson demonstrated the ability to think about how existing medical conditions may affect my eyes. After having lots of experiences with MDs of all types, I can honestly say that Dr. Jacobson is definitely a rare and dying breed. Not only does he have an exceptional attention to detail, really good communication skills, outstanding capabilities and the most current knowledge of retinal disease, treatment and care -- he also seems to be a genuinely nice guy. The other MDs in the practice seem equally skilled...I don't have as much first hand experience with them except to say that I had an after-hours emergency and had to page the on-call MD. My call was returned in less than 2 minutes! Dr. Rivalese also offered to see me in the office on Saturday AM. Impressive that they are so responsive to non-life threatening emergencies. Most other MDs would tell their patients to "go to the ER"...but the ER can't do much for eye problems except charge you $2k and tell you to "follow up with your doctor on Monday". Sure, having eye/retina problems is terrible! But knowing that there is competent, professional care is reassuring. Give Georgia Retina and Dr. Jacobson in particular a try...I think they have several locations: Decatur, Riverdale, Perimeter, etc.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience trying to schedule care with Woolfson Eye Institute…read moreand Dr. Gaby Gutierrez. My appointment has now been canceled twice, including after I had already waited months to be seen. The most recent cancellation was not a same-day emergency situation. I was notified weeks in advance that the appointment would not be kept, yet the clinic did not provide a reasonable solution or help me get scheduled with another provider. For a medical practice, especially one dealing with eye care, reliability and communication matter. Patients arrange their schedules, wait for appointments, and trust that the office will respect their time. Repeated cancellations without an appropriate alternative creates a real access-to-care problem. After this happened, I looked further into the clinic's reviews and complaints and saw many other people reporting concerns about scheduling, communication, billing, insurance issues, and overall poor patient experience. Based on my own experience, those complaints are concerning. At this point, I do not feel confident moving forward with this office. I am thankful I found out before receiving treatment, because repeated scheduling issues and poor communication are warning signs for me. For anyone dealing with repeated cancellations or difficulty accessing care, it may be worth contacting your insurance company and reporting it as an access-to-care or network adequacy issue. Insurance companies need to know when listed in-network providers are not actually providing timely or reliable access to care. I do not believe contacting management will resolve my concern because this appears to be an ongoing pattern based on multiple reviews and complaints. I will be looking for another provider.

It was far from home but still very easily accessible, right off I 575 in Canton, GA. The receptionist was very friendly, and so were the nurses. This was the third time we met with the OD, Paven Korotana. She was nice and professional. She answered every question we had and was patient and thorough. The entire office was clean and tastefully decorated and followed the same color code as the two other Woolfson locations. Overall, it was a pleasant visit. My only complaint about Woolfson is that we have had to, in addition to the surgery, we had to drive to three different locations to catch a doctor.

I live in Northern California, and I was in Tennessee when my retina detached. The thought of potentially losing vision in one of my eyes, while being 2,000 miles from my doctors, my people, and my comfort zone, was terrifying. Southeastern Retina Associates was exactly what I needed when I needed it most. From the moment I walked in, something shifted. The receptionist set the tone immediately. Warm, grounded, no pretense. That feeling carried through every single person I encountered, right up to the doctor. This wasn't a place where staff are just doing their jobs. These are people who genuinely seem to understand that the person sitting across from them is scared and needs more than clinical competence. They need to feel safe. And I did. The care was top-notch, but honestly, it was the humanity behind it that I will remember. When you're far from home and your eyesight is on the line, trust is everything. I trusted every person in that office. If you are visiting from out of state, or even if you are local and need a retina specialist, I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. They showed up for me in a way I won't forget

They have coffee, water, candy and flat screens with HGTV. It's never hot or stuffy. Front desk staff keeps us laughing. I wouldn't go anywhere else. On a personal side note-i was working a great job when I came in EMERGENCY. It was then I learned I would not drive or work and was going blind. My whole world changed. I lost my job and insurance. Dr G said my eyes were more important than money and they would work with me. His bedside manor is unlike any other.

I need to warn everyone about my experience at this office, specifically with Dr. Harpeet Walia…read more It's an administrative disaster capped off with genuinely shocking behavior from the doctor himself. The back office is consistently incompetent with insurance. You'll wait months for an appointment, then wait over an hour in the waiting room, only to be told your insurance is denied because they didn't file the paperwork. They will outright tell you they did, but when you call your insurance (Aetna), you'll find either nothing was ever submitted or you received a denial because they refused to fill out the form required by state regulations and their in-network contracting agreement. Then they blame you for it. But the absolute worst part was my interaction with Dr. Walia. After a year of this, I finally brought them proof that their office had used the wrong form--for the second time. Instead of apologizing, Dr. Walia took me into a side room and completely unloaded on me. He was condescending, yelled, and treated me like a child for daring to point out their mistake. It was a total Jekyll and Hyde moment from his usual calm demeanor and was honestly shocking. And guess what? After his tantrum, they suddenly "found" the form, submitted it correctly, and everything was approved immediately. Proving the problem was them all along. The cycle just repeated at my last appointment. They tried to turn me away again stating a claim denial. When I politely asked to step to the side while I verified the situation, the staff used strong language suggesting that I was unwelcome. Upon returning home, I find that once again, they failed to use the correct form. Now I want you to let it sink in that this was a RETURN visit for a previous turn-away several weeks prior where they claimed they could not secure any of my medication for "free". It turns out I had coverage during this ENTIRE period they were giving me this line about doing me a favor because my insurance wouldn't this or that. It's shocking how you trust, and follow the narrative of the people handling their duties, implicitly, only to find out reality is totally unrelated. Why even do this? How does this even happen? Save yourself the stress. The administrative runaround is bad enough, but being verbally abused by the doctor for holding them accountable is something no patient should ever experience. I wouldn't trust them with my care, or with handling a simple insurance form.
