Georgine is rolling over in her grave. We had patronized Georgine's for years but had seen the quality deteriorate. Following a few year hiatus we decided to take a chance with takeout - bad decision. We paid over $100 for takeout - 3 orders of steak Diane and 2 orders of fettuccine Alfredo for 2. Apparently the chef does not know how to make steak Diane as it was one filet with a few large overcooked mushrooms and sauce that seems like it came from a jar. The fettuccine was was just poor and not a size for two. The best part was the 6% gratuity automatically applied for takeout...really? There was no mention of the gratuity on the website or during the call when we placed the order. It is sad that once a great restaurant has become such a disappointment. Don't waste your time or money as there are much better restaurants locally and the same price point. read more

It used to be my favorite restaurant about 6 years ago and let me tell you, I won't be going back after tonight. It took them somewhere from 10-15 minutes for them to even come at hello at the table. The food was cold, so we asked them to heat it up and it came back microwaved and tough. Our waitress, you could tell, did not want to be there. She brought out the food, dropped it and walked away. My date mentioned, he guessed he couldn't ask for a side of sauce, which the waitress heard and turned around and came back, but she should have asked can "I get you anything else right now". They charge you for every soda so there are no free refills, the place is old and needs to be redone, the plates were dirty, we had to ask for new ones, you can't substitute a soup for salad and overall just expensive for what we got. There are just way better places to go. Don't waste your money. read more

I have been going to Georgines forever. I went on Dec 4 with 7 other women for our Pollyannas and Christmas dinner. In all my years going We were very disappointed. The server forgot to put an order in so one of our girls didn't get her meal till we were just about done eating. I had asked for hollandaise sauce for my veal, it came after the last meal was served, so about 20 min after everyone was served. By then my meal was cold. I asked the server if the one girl was going to get her meal taken off, she had to check with the owner. She came back and said we could have a free crepe for dessert. I said we didn't want dessert just her meal taken off. We could only have one or the other. And what about me? At this point I was no longer hungry. I think the owner could have thrown in the free meal and dessert. The place was about the quietest ever, hardly any people there on a Tues night. We will not go back for our Christmas dinner next year. I also want to mention that our server went MIA in us. She had 2 other servers take care of us. She never even came to check on us, apologize, nothing. Pretty bad. Sorry Georgines, you messed up on this one. read more

Gross, If you want a large amount of tasteless off the Sysco truck food than this is the spot for you. It all I can say about the place. My husband's family take us there every time we are in town, even when we suggest somewhere else. First, they won't seat you until your whole party is present. Second, they slap down a pile of menus on the middle of the table for everyone to hand out to each other. Then comes the bread and "cheese" board. Supposedly a big deal considering they charge you extra if you want more than the complimentary loaf. But let's be honest, it's basically French bread from corner store and a cream cheese pimento spread. Salad: gross. Main, I had a tasteless pecan chicken. Although it was nicely cooked, aside from the pecans there was no flavor. I can't speak for the rest of my family because it was so loud in there that I couldn't hear to speak to anyone. Or wave my hands to get their attention, they pack you in like sardines and you have to eat T-Rex style. Been coming here for over 20 years with complete consistency except for the last year. All the food prices have been raised heavily, the portions have shrunk, and the quality of the food is equivalent to garbage now compared to what it used to be. This used to be one of the top restaurants in the area and now is terrible. The last three times I've been there the service is some of the worst I've ever had which is mostly shitty teens or malenials or something that are rude and move at the pace of a rock. It's unbelievable that Georgine actually let the restaurant go to shit after maintaining it for so long. Used to be frequent customers for 20 years and not an exaggeration but now probly won't ever go again. Already found a better spot closer to the house anyway. Don't go here, bye Georgines. Been years since I've been here and will be the last time I come back. Came for Fathers Day and sadly they had only a prefixed menu. Would of been nice if this was posted on their website or even told they will be doing this when we called for reservations. Ruined the choices of things to get, I remembered loving years ago. For starters the place was packed as expected and they sat us in the comedy room. Where different family's had to sit together at long tables. NO AIR CONDITIONING! very uncomfortable. After ordering it took us a half hour to get our soup and salads. This was also the next time we only got to see our waitress. When we got our soup and salads. After that point another 40 minutes later to get our dinners. Again, our waitress never came to the table between that time either. Our service was just horrible and left ignored while waiting drinks etc. My wife's dinner was made wrong and had to wait another 10 minutes for a new one. Dinners overall were pretty good and nice portions as it is also what they are mainly known for. After dinner we had a choice of dessert and I chose the strawberry cheesecake. Tiny piece and holy hell was it bad. It was so warm like it was sitting out for hours and had like a whipped cream consistency. It also wasnt until after my first and only spoonful of it, that I noticed the end of it had a nice long piece of black hair garnished across it (pic in photo gallery). I attended a wedding reception here, and it was awful. Reception was from 5:30-9:30, and we did not get our meals till between 8-8:30. They had even forgotten to give my table the fruit, which both me and the bride had to ask about. We were all very unhappy with the service. It is also upsetting how they have handled this situation, which is basically by rudeness and inattention. My advice to anyone reading this is to not have your event here!!! read more

This old gal is I need of a facelift and better food. The restaurant itself is old and tired. Chairs with ripped vinyl, dirty rugs.. Just awful. They had our table in the corner and the server ended up reaching across the table. Then we ended up passing plates. Fining dining? I think not. Georgines was always known for the portion size. In this day & age big portions are just wasteful. The worst offense about the whole thing was the quality of what we had ordered. We received an iceberg lettuce salad that looked as though it would be brown in 5 minutes with 1 small slice of cucumber & one grape tomato. There are so many great lettuces and vegetables but they serve a tired 1950's style salad. The rest of our food was eh. Nothing to write home about. I will not return, ever! read more

Filthy and smelly. The smell hits you as soon as you walk in. Mildewy dirty carpet in the foyer and bar area as well as the private party room that we were in downstairs. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the heater a/c returns on the wall were caked with dust. The only reason in giving this place 2 stars is the food was okay for a catered lunch. The bread was fresh and the roast beef was tender and in a decent a jus. I worry though if the public areas are so neglected- what does the kitchen look like?That is why I'll never go back to Georgine's. read more

Georgine's is the type of place grandparents love, because it's like a classy diner, the food is consistent, and you get a lot for your money. And if your grandparents are anything like mine were, the cigarette machine doesn't hurt either. Because of the classy diner status, Georgine's seems to be a to-to for special family dinners, since the price is right and there's something for everyone. My family and I went here for Easter this year and had a nice experience. With reservations it room about fifteen minutes to get a table. But once we were seated everything else came quickly. Really the only problem I had was that at times it was too quick, but I guess that's to be expected on Easter. The bread and cheese they put on the table is quite tasty. They serve hot bread with two butter/cheese hybrid things, one a cheddar flavor the other chive. For an average price of maybe $22, we could choose a complete meal from the fixed menu. Their fixed menu however had plenty of offerings, so everyone was happy. I got seafood au gratin. The soup and salad that came with the meal were fine. The entree was quite good. The size was generous and it was very filling. The vegetable situation however was strange. Basically they cut up a big potato and set it in the middle of the table "family style." Hopefully that's just for fixed menu nights. Georgine's would not be my first choice for a date night, but for a family get together or a holiday that no one wants to host, it's a solid choice. read more

My wife has food allergies which can make certain restaurants challenging. They had an excellent prime rib (prepared around wife's allergies) and I had the chicken parm (excellent as well). Been going there since it opened. always loved the food and service. Had a Funeral Luncheon there last week. The service was impeccable. The food delicious as usual. Plenty of food and deserts for everyone with leftovers. Ran a tab at the bar for drinks(open bar) honest reliable billing and standard tipping included. Lynn the Banquet Manager was great from the first call to the reservations. Lunch was also on time when guests arrived. Iv been here many times and had two parties here and never had an issue really. Average food on the high side of price , but it's nice to have a different option sometimes going out. This last time was horrific. Went and they said 15 min wait that took 25 (not a big deal). Ordered food with my 7 year old autistic child that doesn't sit well for long periods of time and asked for his food (bowl of pasta only ) with our appetizer so he would be occupied (waitress actually asked if we wanted it then also) we received our salads 15 min later then appetizers 15 min later and 20 min later his food came. Our food never came. We asked multiple times and they said they are busy. It was over 55 min from appetizers to the time we finally had to leave because it was after 8 pm and still had to get my son ice cream before bed as promised. When I told the hostess we had leave because we were all full by now and my son was getting upset with sitting around she told me it's almost done and we could bag it up to take home. I said I didn't want it and I'd pay for the rest of what we ate she rolled her eyes and walked away while I was still talking and explaining myself to her. The sauce was watered down and when we complained the manager said the sauce was thick and that my niece was not eating it because she was full off the bread. Last night was first ever visit to Georgine's and it was terrific. The decor and feel is late 70's but the prices are too. We were waited on by Dave and he was friendly, informative and all around perfect. Dave warned us that the portions are big and we decided to skip the apps. Dinners include bread with a cheese spreads, salads and family style sides. The sides were carrots, cauliflower and potatos au gratin. Our dinners were great; chicken parmesan, 14oz fillet and seafood au gratin casserole. For dessert we shared a crepe with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and sauce. The experience was a throwback but the meals were timeless. Also, the bill was super reasonable. Even without ordering apps we had leftovers. Highly recommend a visit. read more

Last evening was my first at Georgine's and it will be my last. After "rave" reviews from family and friends I was grossly disappointed in the overall experience. I love esargot and after seeing them on the menu I had to have them, mistake. I have had escargot many places and this was not the place for escargot. They were the size of peanuts and I had to handle the shells with my fingers they did not give you the tongs for the shells, My Veal Marsala was tough, veal should not be tough. For $43.45 for a terrible meal I could have eaten the same thing in an Italian restaurant and at least enjoyed my meal. The service was not that great either. Boo for Georgine's. We had our daughter's bridal shower at Georgines today. While the room was nicely decorated, the sever was very nice, and the food was good, the guests were not comfortable due to the fact that the restaurant refused to run the air at full capacity and keep the room adequately cool. Because of the temperature in the room, people didn't have as good a time as we were hoping. I felt really bad for the guests. Many could not eat due to the heat. In response to our several complaints throughout the afternoon, we were told, "we just put the air on." How many times do you put the air on? Customers aren't stupid and shouldn't be treated that way. We should get a full refund, but I would never ask for that. I wish I suggested a venue that cared more about the comfort of the guests as opposed to conserving energy and saving money. Interestingly, as we were leaving, and their dining guests began to enter, we noticed the air kicked on full force. If you are planning a party, don't go to Georgines unless you like it warm and uncomfortable. They either need to close down or do something about their air conditioning. Had dinner at Georgine's last night and when walking into the lobby, it smelled awful. When seated and served bread, it was cold. The soup tasted terrible and then waited over an hour for our meals. While waiting, asked the waitress who was serving others who came in after us, when the food would be out and she said in a few minutes. Waited over an hour for our food that was disgusting, over-cooked and couldn't eat it and when we told the waitress about it, her reply was, "I didn't cook it and I didn't order it" No apology, just a rude answer. Don't know her name, but she was wearing a Daffy Duck tie and a nasty attitude. There were flies flying around our table too. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!! I do not like snails at all but Georgine's makes the escargot bourguignon so good. It comes with garlic bread so that's always a plus. The meal always comes with complementary bread with a special dip that always make me ask for more. The seafood au gratin: scallops, shrimp and crabs is highly recommended. read more

Escaping the chain restaurants is always the mission of the day when I head back to suburban PA. Georgine's is an old family run restaurant with lots of history and decent Italian fare. My family and I used to come here when I was a kid, and honestly, I don't think much of the menu has changed as we revisited this past week. Classic Italian dishes, GINORMOUS portions, all at a reasonable price. My only qualms are the decor and the desserts. The decor looks like it's been frozen in time. And half of the desserts on the dessert menu they were out of. And it seems like every single time I come here they are missing the same desserts. These are however, minor issues and I still prefer Georgine's over the many bad/mediocre chains this area of PA attracts. read more

We went here for my best friend's bridal shower and were very pleased with the experience. Kim was very easy to work with. The price was the number one factor for us (about half the bridesmaids were on a budget) and at $11/plate minus alcohol, the menu was definitely in our wheelhouse. We got plenty of food per person for such a reasonable price. We were also able to organize a cash bar. The space we were given was great for approximately 20-25 people. Kim allowed us to decorate the place ourselves with our own decorations and bring our own cake in addition to the one Georgine's provided. The only reason I'm not giving Georgine's 5 stars is that the chicken was only so-so in taste. Overall, I would recommend Georgine's as an event space for those on a budget. read more

My husband and I had dinner here tonight for our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. Our waiter, Brian, was very helpful and made our experience very enjoyable. A loaf of bread (with 2 wonderful spreads) along with water was brought to our table as soon as we were seated and we never wanted for refills on our water. Stuffed mushroom appetizer that we shared was so good even though we really didn't need an appetizer since our dishes were enormous. We had cajun blackened chicken (came with asparagus and pasta) and veal parm, both meals were huge. They serve side dishes family style which is vegetables and mashed potatoes on a plate in the middle of the table for both of us to share. But we never even got to the side dishes since our meals were so large. The meals were amazing, chicken was so tender and spicy (if you like spicy you will love the cajun blackened chicken) and the veal parm was so tender with just enough cheese and sauce. This was truely a great dinner. With drinks (alcohol drinks) , appetizer and 2 meals we only spent 60.00 for two people. Not bad for a wonderful night out for our anniversary. This restaurant is very nice and you can go casual. You can be a little dressed if you want a nice night out but people were wearing just jeans and tshirts also. We were dressed for a night out. It was really nice to be in a nice restaurant and not another chain restaurant. We made reservations (which they take during the week) and are open only from 5 pm to 10 pm most nights. We called at 4 pm and made reservations for the same night at 5:00 pm. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great dinner in a relaxing comfortable environment. read more

We had another family dinner on Saturday 2-22-14,twelve total. We asked for Eileen when we made our reservation,and she was great as were her assist staff. Place mobbed, but we were seated close to our reserve time. We had drinks at the bar while we waited,and Pete makes a great Manhattan. Seated in a downstairs dinning room,glitzy decor but nice. Several of us had the filet Mignon and we loved them.They were large,tender ,tasty and done correctly.Other dishes were pork,beef and seafood,and everybody was pleased. Went here with family for the Easter brunch buffet. First of all the banquet hall smells from stale smoke and stinks, we had a 4pm reservation. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. At the buffet I waited over 20 minutes for bacon. The buffet was not stocked with enough food. Also the food was ok not worth the price of 25 an adult and 16.99 for a child of 4 years old. The service was not that good either, my mother in law bused our own table and the waitress only got our drinks the first time, and gave us the check. I don't recommend this for a holiday dinner. My family had a 70th Birthday party for my aunt today in Jessie's room. I cannot say enough great things about this place. From the first time that we called to get information until the end of the party, everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Kim in the office was really nice and helpful. Scott was our DJ and he did a great job getting everyone up dancing! Our servers were Ginny and Lori and they took excellent care of us from beginning to end. The food was excellent ! Great place to eat! We have been going here for years and its always delicious. The best is the seafood or veal pram. Portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. Hello we made reservations on Easter Sunday April 1,2018 for 6 people at 5:30, it was very crowded as expected it would be on a holiday. My concern is we waited over an hour before eventually having to leave as we had children in our party who were very hungry and unable to wait any longer. I called and spoke with someone today April 4, 2018 to voice my concerns, I was told they book for people to sit at a table for 2 hours and they had an emergency. We were there when the emergency happened the ambulance came and did not disrupt the restaurant. I feel as if they did not care that they ruined my families Easter plans. I would not recommend making reservations here if you do not want to wait an be forced to leave hungry and disappointed. read more
