Located on what has become a dead end on Mill Creek Road just before reaching the old Delaware Canal, the inn that shares its name with the road feels like it knows that it is now at the end of the trail, and is depressed about it. While prices are downright cheap for food and drink, the house has a dark and dusty aura. It does have its attractions, with pool table and large rectangular bar with a few primarily domestic beer on tap. Too, it is a smokers tavern, and a haven for those who enjoy socializing with ques and tobacco. For me, a non-smoker, the atmosphere was challenging. The menu is limited, with cheesesteaks, burgers and a few Italian specialties (meatballs galore). Seeing that, I went with their California Burger and fries to get a sample of what they should do well. Well, my hopes exceeded reality. Looking good on the plate with fresh, soft large bun, the puck itself was 8 ounces of previously frozen ground beef, with little flavor beyond what was provided by the cheese and red onions. My request for a medium finish was returned far closer to well done. The half order of fries was plentiful, but with starchy texture and no crispness. Just a disappointing effort. Sitting at the bar, I received pleasant attention from the tender, who was kept busy all night pouring shots, drafts and cracking bottle caps. She moved quickly, and was clearly on top of her game. The cigarettes forced me to depart soon after finishing my meal and Michelob Ultra. It is unlikely there is enough there to make a return visit.

Great cheesesteak & fries, and great beer on draft. Can't ask for more. Just added more pool tables too!

They can hold 20-500 people for private events according to their website. The inside is dark and could use a bit of a refresh, but I wouldn't say it's close to the level of dive. It's certainly on the larger side compared to most bars in the area. The staff has always been nice, but service can get slow when the crowd size grows. Just the nature of things. Food wise the menu has a typical mix of pub grub - apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and several entrees. A friend was eating their jumbo Buffalo Shrimp off the starter menu and raved about them. I stuck to a Cheesesteak which was average but a deal at $9.50 -- the chopped steak was decent, cheese was good just needed a bit more. Hot peppers gave it some kick and the long roll was fresh. Their beer menu has around a dozen beers on tap. They dabble in more mainstream big beer/craft beer like your Goose Island IPA's/Lagunitas IPA, but do have a decent show of locals like Yards, Victory, Troegs and Weyerbacher. Bourbon wise I had a Knob Creek neat which was average price wise. The pour was on the generous side. Each time I've been here the crowds have been friendly and having a good time. The band we listened to was great and the sound was crisp. Five Four is a family friendly grill during the day and a fun place for adults later at night. Thanks guys!

I have always overlooked this place as a dive bar but I was genuinely surprised. As the windows allow natural light to fill the large open dining area that surrounded the bar. They appear to have a catering or events room as well as another separate dining area in addition to the main dining/bar area. While their menu is very limited to all the standard bar fare and spirits. It was served fresh. The smash burger topped with bacon jam tasted like it was fresh off a charcoal grill (in a good way) the buffalo chicken cheesesteak had a good amount of heat and the meat and cheese ratios were on point . The Buffalo bites were equally tasty and I have a strong feeling the blue cheese dip was homemade. They do offer weekly events like bingo, karaoke, quizzo. I think they may have live music events as well. Our server was friendly and kept the libations coming. All in all a big surprise for a place I have overlooked so many times. Last time I was a kid all I remember was a meatball sandwich. That and the sawdust on a shuffle board table. This time, I saw the game is still there along with the bar and kitchen. A second bar area was added on. We walked through to another large dining area addition where we sat at one of many large tables. I ordered the ham and cabbage special and a side of fried pickles, and went back to the original bar for an Irish beverage. Everything was tasty. Thankfully, nobody pinched me for not wearing green. Hopefully it isn't another 40 years before my next visit!

What impressed me most was how honest and customer-focused Nicole was during the planning. The day before the event, she reviewed my food order and actually told me I had ordered too much because she knew how much their trays would feed. She helped me reduce the order rather than trying to sell me more. That's something you don't see very often, and her recommendation was exactly right--we had plenty of food. And the food was excellent. Great pizza, chicken parm, pasta, and some awesome pierogis that were a great recommendation. And surprisingly, the broccoli may have been the best I've ever had. The servers the night of our event were wonderful--very attentive, friendly, and always available. The staff made everything easy and flexible, which was especially appreciated for a meaningful family gathering. The price was also extremely reasonable for hosting a 30-person event. Cosmos is clearly a great neighborhood spot for lunch, dinner, or drinks, but don't overlook them if you're looking for a place to host a private or family event. Reasonable pricing, honest planning, great food, and genuinely great people. Thank you to Liz, Nicole, and the entire Cosmos team for helping make a very special evening such a success.

Happy hour 2.75 domestic pints is solid.... If you can get server. The pierogies are very good (didnt get picture). Fried pickles also very good and not traditional chips, they were more long slivers. Drunken cheesesteak was ok (vodka sauce and mozzarella). Ended with funnel cake strips. They were ok, feel like they needed a vanilla or chocolate sauce to dip.
