a slice of pizza on a plate
PJ W.

I've had pizza from all over Indiana. From Paoli and French Lick, to Indy, to West Lafayette to Fort Wayne. In all those places, I've never had pizza quite like this. The price is a little high, and the wait is at least 45 minutes, but that's what happens when you order pizza that doesn't come from a nationwide chain and it is not a bad thing. The ingredients do seem as fresh as can be, and the size is similar to Bruno's, so you'll likely get more than one meal out of an 18" or larger pie. The most unique thing about this pizza in my opinion is the subtle sweetness in the sauce and even the crust. We ordered an 18", half pepperoni, half veggie pizza and it is every bit of 18". This pizza is amongst the best I've ever had. I still prefer the brick oven/wood-fired pizza at 800 Degrees in Fort Wayne, but this is a very close second. We also got an order of breadsticks with cheese. It was only another $5 or so and we got 5 decently sized breadsticks that were seasoned well. The cheese was good too, not spicy, not molten government cheese, just right.

a pizza in a box

New ownership, not impressed. Our thin crust was very thick. The "extra" sauce was barely there and not within 2" of an edge. Cheese and topping were thin and not within an inch of the sauce line. The sausage has changed and not for the better. We ordered gardinerre, but could find only 4 pieces on the entire pie. Mourning the loss of one of the good pizza places in Goshen!!!!

Love it because there is so much cheese and delicious dough. Be careful with meaty pizzas as it gets very salty!

Pretty good pizza, fresh ingredients. Crust seems to be hand tossed. They go from 10" all the way up to a gigantic 24" pizza.

If I could give negative stars, I wouldn't hesitate--I'd be digging for a minus-five option…read more Last night at 1056 Brewery started off exactly how you hope a night out with friends goes--great company, lots of laughs, even a little bingo thrown in for fun. Unfortunately, that perfect evening didn't just take a turn... it drove straight off a cliff. Seven of us ordered appetizers and full meals, and everything hit the table looking and tasting great--except for one unfortunate burger that was so thoroughly charred it could've doubled as a hockey puck. Our friend tried to power through it (because who wants to complain?), but eventually realized it just wasn't edible. They politely asked if it could be remade or replaced. Simple enough, right? Wrong. About 20 minutes later--after everyone else had finished eating--we weren't met with a replacement, but with what I can only assume was the owner, who approached with an accusatory tone that immediately made the entire table uncomfortable. Instead of resolving the issue quietly, she marched back from the kitchen holding the same burnt burger and presented it like courtroom evidence, as if we were on trial for daring to send it back. At that point, we were all sitting there in disbelief. Was this really happening? Then came the comment: essentially suggesting that next time, we should say something before eating most of it--despite the fact that our group had spent plenty on food and drinks and clearly wasn't angling for a free burger. The implication alone was enough to sour the entire experience. To "fix" things, she offered to comp the burger (which we had already declined) and, as we were leaving, handed over a $20 gift card--as if that could somehow erase the awkwardness, embarrassment, and frankly rude treatment we had just experienced. It couldn't. What should have been a minor kitchen mistake turned into a bizarre and uncomfortable scene, all because of how it was handled. Mistakes happen--burnt burgers happen--but treating paying customers like they're trying to pull one over on you? That's a choice. It's a real shame, because the night had been so enjoyable up until that moment. But after witnessing that level of unprofessional and unpleasant behavior, it's hard to imagine returning. Do better. Seriously.

Food is great. Flat breads and appetizers and free bingo once a month. Wide is the chef and husband…read moreretired cop. Nice people. Need to ask for handicap assistance but then they will open another door for you
