    [[HIGHLIGHT]]I purchased a used RAV4 from this dealership after negotiating with John over two days. He was polite and professional, and we agreed on the out-the-door price before I drove 4 hours to complete the deal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, several issues left me disappointed. Before I even arrived, I clearly requested multiple times that the car be properly washed and waxed -- it was for my wife, and I wanted it to look great. John assured me it would take about an hour, so I expected a proper detail. But the car was back from "cleaning" in under 15 minutes, and it was clear it just went through a basic wash, with no waxing at all. That felt misleading. I was also handed a dead second key fob, even though I had asked about key fobs ahead of time. No one told me it wasn't working. The next day, while putting in seat covers, I noticed the front passenger all-weather floor mat was missing -- even though it was shown in the listing and was there during the test drive. It had apparently disappeared during the quick wash. When I reached out, I got a "we'll check and let you know" kind of response. Fortunately, it was found later and they agreed to ship it, but there was no sense of ownership until I followed up. While the finance process was quick and low-pressure (which I appreciated), the overall experience didn't meet the expectations I had from a dealership of this size and reputation. I came for a fair deal and a 5-star experience -- but left feeling let down by the lack of transparency and accountability.

    Just found out they lied to me. They said they updated all my software including starlink and guess what Subaru of America said they couldn't have updated starling. My DCM needs replaced and their is even a service bulletin about this issue. So they sold me a car a few days ago and said the car was fully serviced and these things were taken care of. Please do yourself and take your car to another dealer. A little bit ago after getting my car from the dealership I noticed mechanics oily fingerprints all over the ceiling of my car. My father is a master tech so I know they are supposed to wear gloves to prevent this from happening.

    I LOVE my Subaru dealer in Tampa, Mastro subaru. Gerald Jones Subaru SUCKS!!!! Mastro does walk-in oil changes and lends you a curtesy vehicle at no extra charge! Gerald Jones offers none of this. They want you to make an appointment for a simple oil change. They don't give vehicles to customers. Called today on Saturday, when I was transferred, they simply picked up the phone and immediately hung it up! When I call back I get a sob story of how they only have one person in the service department. Come'on! Subaru dealerships are not supposed to have decent review for sales and countless 1-star reviews for their service department. Seems to me like the owner is pocketing a lot of his profits and not adequately staffing the service department. It is disgusting and someone needs to school him on what good customer service entails.

Find out its truly a Onr stop shop to care for your Car!!! They called me to diagnose and give cost. Before doing any work! Lota of friends and a personal mechanic referred me to use Butler! Well, overall after checking in today and going multiple issues with my Old car... they took me in without a schedule. Immediately at Noon. They ran diagnostics for problems I experienced but couldn't duplicate. It was $169 cost, but they waives coat as they couldn't duplicate the issues. Ended up getting all Tires changed, Oil change and new battery!!! $1048?!! Oh...and they have never seen a car with tires that lasted so long. Its 2024 and the last time I changed my tires was 2007!!!! ( I don't drive that much in my classic car)heh They're a great HONEST and fair company Concerning the care of your vehicle!!! I'm Hooked!!! I'm bringing back for future services!!! And they took my AAA or AaRp discount which maxed at $25. I was hoping 10% ! I'm a Fan!!!

On 06/23/2026, I took my vehicle to Butler Automotive West, Inc. for diagnostic and repair services. I was charged $2,500 for the repair. Within the same hour of picking up my vehicle on 07/02/2026, it broke down again with the same issue that was supposed to have been fixed. When I contacted the shop to report the immediate failure, I was told it must have been something I did, even though the vehicle had barely been driven since leaving their shop. They refused to take responsibility for the failed repair or offer a reasonable explanation. I had to pay the tow service because I wanted it towed to my residence instead of being towed to Butler Automotive again. The business charged a substantial amount, did not fix the problem, and then suggested towing the vehicle back to their shop--potentially to charge additional fees. After paying $2,500, my car should not have broken down the same day. I paid nearly $200 for diagnostics alone; they did not even diagnose the issue properly. The tow man told me immediately that the alternator or the battery is the issue; it's the fuel injection system. I asked that it be checked when I gave them my car to fix, and they clearly ignored me and obviously didn't even do a diagnostic test, and their mechanics can't be smart. Butler Auto is A SCAM. Money-hungry liars. I cried to them, literally cried, begging them for help with the bill. I let them know my situation that I couldn't pay $2500 upfront, begged for in-house financing, and they refused to help in any way. Desired Resolution: A full refund of $2,500 for ineffective repair services. A written explanation of the diagnostic and repair process. Accountability for the immediate breakdown following service.

Ok, time for third opinion: Tommy Mathewes- We can fix it- about 8 hours of labor. $1600. Well OK. Took only 5 hours of labor and price drops more. Now: Prices may vary as each repair job will be different. Costs shown was for one particular car and one particular problem. Every repair job may and will have different costs. All I am saying is yes it pays to shop around- get different opinions and see which one works best for you. Tommy Mathewes give a good estimate price, and it was actually lower when the job was done.     Dropped my car off ('07 550i) the night before for total front bulb replacements- due to complexity…read moreof job, i wanted all bulbs changed at the same time. While there, i wanted an oil change too. I had an 11am appointment scheduled. They kept my car "all day"and after not hearing from the shop at ~3pm, I called the shop for an update? I was then told at 3pm that my car was "next to be pulled in" (I had an 11am appointment), so to hear that my car was next at "3pm" was a little concerning.....fast forward to 5pm/closing time and I get to the shop to settle up. I pay nearly $800 for bulbs to replaced along with the oil change.....jump in my car to leave and low and behold, the right lamp fault is still there on the dash (why i brought the car in the first place). This is when they tell me as they are closing that the fault wont clear because i need new headlight assemblies for the car?? No one called to give me an update along the way and I get the "we just took your car down off the lift along with we are short a technician" today....excuse. I expressed my dissatisfaction...have brought my car in for service on multiple times...time before being a ~$5k job worth of work. Very discouraging to fork over nearly $800 for bulbs and oil change and get a rushed job at closing and excuses. Don't mind paying for quality work but don't insult a customer's intelligence with guesswork and no communication. Also, was given an "updated" receipt of service after the tech went back an added in the comments why the fault light wouldn't clear and the need for new headlight assemblies. This information was not in the original receipt when I paid for service and was headed out before I caught the fault code still illuminated on the dash.
