Wasn't very happy with my experience at this place after searching all through Denver for decent pool hall... the bouncer accused my 23 year old friends of having fakes because their ID's were vertical and didn't expire for another 3 years... if proper examination or even a scanner was present there wouldn't be a problem and we'd be having a blast playing pool and having drinks... for that I do not recommend this establishment... go 4 mins down the way to Zanzibar they get a 5 out of 5 read more

Highly recommend visiting this pool hall if you're in the area. They opened at 3PM on Thursday. We went around 4PM and all of the tables were still available. We were told one of the tables were for pros, meaning it had a smaller pocket. Drinks were quick and easy to put down and the staff were nice. We were told it was $11/hour and a $300 charge if drinks were spilled on the tables. I liked that they had house rules because the tables were definitely in great shape. Also, the bathrooms were clean and required an entry code. It was just my husband and I but we still had lots of fun playing pool here. :) read more

I like this place. It's just for playing pool and having a couple drinks but have a variety of people and music playing. They do not have food but that probably a good thing. We tend to drop in for a few cocktail and to play a few rounds. Because there is food nearby you can alway sip out for a bite and return. Gerard's is equipped with eight 9 foot tables in excellent shape, good selection of house cues, and plenty of space to play with little interference with other tables. The second floor has a bar with occasional live music. Which I liked better than the canned music played otherwise playing. Staff and other players were pleasant and accommodating. This place is hidden away a little but it's such a gem of a find. The decor is really nice and the location is great. The bar tender who served us was really pleasant and made us top notch drinks. Really cool vibe. Great for a date or a night out with friends. Upstairs bar is a very nice touch, although after a couple of cocktails you may want to wait for cocktail service. You want to shy away from heights after a couple of rounds. The bar is well stocked, especially if you're a whiskey drinker. Not too many stools so that keeps the bartender free for walk up orders. There's a couple of couches and side table with two chairs that house a chess set. A nice touch if you're waiting for a table. I speak from experience. The pool tables are in great shape and a large majority of the cues are straight. My only gripe is they keep the weights between 19oz-21oz. It's a very small gripe by the way. Stumbled upon this place on accident looking at the art murals in Rino. It's great for a large group that wants to play pool. There's...probably 8 or so tables and you pay for the balls and you can play as many games as you want. It didn't seem to be that busy on a Friday night but the acoustics in there aren't great. If there were more people in there, it would get noisy real quick. They share the same building with First Draft and Lustre Pearl, it's definitely casual and great if you wanna shoot pool! Tucked away in an alley behind 10 barrels brewing, it has a flickering light to indicate the bar. The door almost blends into the side of the building so it can be easy to miss. Not a fan of the price or selection of products. I asked for their cocktail list and there wasn't that many to choose from or any unique ones that stood out. Around $10 a cocktail which is fine with me. My husband ordered a PBR and it was $5 which is a bit much for the cheapest low quality beer. We asked how much it was to play pool and they said its $18 which I find very ridiculous because there's a pool hall down the street from me which is free as long as you order a drink! I can understand *maybe* charging $10 an hour but $18 is really steep for a pool hall. During the typical weekend stroll through RiNo my eye caught a neon pool hall sign right over by First Draft. Intrigued, we headed over and stumbled upon Gerard's. The atmosphere is flat out cool. Electric blue pool tables that are regulation sized with hanging over head lamps. Awesome large black and white portraits of celebrities and classics playing pool back in the day. Upstairs is a bar and lounge area that keeps the vibe going with a modern classic twist and all the perfect little details that brings life to this place. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I happen to meet Gerard himself when he popped in and he was really friendly and you could tell this place was a total extension of himself: badass. You could tell by talking to him that he really put his heart into this place and his vision was perfectly executed. We played an hour and had a great time and a couple of drinks. This is the perfect spot to kick back with some friends or impress a date. I am not even a big fan of playing pool and it was a great time - my friends who really enjoy pool said it was a great spot! This place is so full of its own shit, I'm recommending a fiber-only diet. It's made for trustfund hipsters that don't know anything about pool. They charge you $18 an hour for regulation tables that run four dollars an hour max in every other bar around Colorado (Saturday or not). Add to the fact that they don't know how to mix a drink to save their lives, and you have a world-class disappointment. You literally have to tell them how to make your cocktail; it's an embarrassment of pretentious proportions. I hate it and I hate everything it stands for. Also, it's frigid as hell in there because they blast the A/C 40° below what the temperature is outside. Hard pass, and I would not recommend this venue to any living human being. To the nonliving, I suppose it depends on what kind of life you led and if Hell is a deserving punishment for you. read more

12/10 do NOT recommend this place. The staff are rude, the only 'good' drinks they have come from a can and not their tap line or bartenders making them, and they will try to scam you out of money. They accused a group member of ours of spilling on a pool table and trying to "cover it up", which did NOT happen. They threatened to charge us $200, but ended up charging us $50 for "damages" when there was literally nothing wrong. On top of this staff members called the females in our group obscenities and the bartenders were clearly fighting with each other behind the bar, impacting the already crap service. Don't go here. Would give 0 stars if I could. The female bartender was incredibly rude on several occasions to our group. Was told that I was lying when I stated the door guy said there was a time limit on tables (which there's not and people can play on their few measly tables for as long as they want btw so basically we were the ones lied to probably to keep us there so we would buy drinks). Also all the people in my party that left tabs open got charged multiple times for tabs that were not theirs (and didn't realize until checking their bank accounts the next day). One friend was ridiculed multiple times by the female bartender that she didn't have a tab open whenever she would get a drink, which she did and then they found her card at the end. Didn't even apologize. Reading other reviews seems like this is a trend, both the rudeness and the overcharging. Avoid this place at all costs. And if you must go close your tab each time. read more

We found this place around the corner of a brewery we were at & with construction and all, we found it. This place was super dope! Floor was deck with pool tables while the stairs led you to the bar. As long as you got drinks, the tables were free to play. How awesome was that! A plus is, there's so much dope art work around this town, which made it easy to walk to after you find parking. read more

I walked into Gerard's whilst out with my dog, when I asked if it was OK if I played a few racks, Gerard said sure, no problem and I'll take your dog out for a walk whilst your playing! The two of them got along just great while I enjoyed the tables. We are from out of town. We are huge Chiefs fans. We had a server, Stacey, who was also a big Chiefs fan. We clicked immediately after talking. We went to the pool hall with intentions of playing pool. With the Covid restrictions, I was very impressed with the way they handled themselves. However, some miscommunication happened with my tab. After further explanation, it came to my attention that a drink had been left unpaid for. I was willing to pay the misunderstanding (apparently on my part) and the waiter, Stacey wouldn't take my money after I said I had plenty of money to pay the tab. This does sound funny, but we had a huge argument right at the bar. Stacey would not accept any type of payment because he felt me saying "I have enough money to pay the tab" was rude. If you're a die-hard pool fan, Gerard's is the place for you! They provide fabulous Brunswick, Gold Crown, 9 foot tables that are re-felted regularly (watch out for table #1, the pockets are extra tight/tite). The cocktails are some of the best in the area - my personal favorite is the RailBird, a tasty gin drink with grapefruit. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Steven really knows his pool trivia, if you need a cue, ask for him. Traci served me while I was here - she is very sweet (and hott). Overall, I haven't come across a better pool hall in Denver.
