I used to service my old Altima at 25th before it broke down on me and I purchased a new car. These guys are the best I've ever had! The prices seemed fair for what they did for me, but the one thing that stood out the most to me is when I was having financial hardship in between housing they kindly allowed me to break down my payments, and since I had to leave my car at the shop they even gave me a ride home. They didn't have to do either of these things but the really helped me and that tells me not only are they mechanics but they have a good heart. These guys are really pricey. They charged me $1,000 to replace the thermostat on a 2016 Dodge Charger, SE - the basic 6 cylinder model. My check engine light came on; The Auto Zone free diagnosis indicated the coolant thermostat. I brought it in to 25th Street Automotive. They said, yes, it was my thermostat. They gave me other estimates for procedures they thought I might need, but they were also high. Example: $400 for a transmission fluid flush and change. I declined, got the thermostat replaced, and walked out $1,000 poorer. read more

I brought my friends 2013 Ford focus for the mechanics to determine what was wrong. They did all the diagnostics but as soon as they found what was wrong, they stopped. Mike is VERY condescending!! Quality BS!! I have taken my automobile to 25th street automotive twice. They did the oil change and made recommendations on what needed to be taken care of. I dropped my car off there today. I received a call from Mike a couple of hours later. What he said to me is still very much stinging my ear as well as my attitude toward this company. So Mike gave me the run down of things that were due to be taken care of. Then he said we've gone over this before. We went over this last time. How many times do we need to go over this? I'm thinking what the hell?? You know absolutely nothing about my finances. You know absolutely nothing about my medical needs. You know absolutely nothing about me. I had to go back to have them reset the maintenance light. They punch buttons on the dash changing the settings and don't bother to change the settings back. So Mike, Here's your answer. I have never left a bad review in my life on any platform, and I always try to see the good in every situation, but I needed to share this experience I had at 25th Street Automotive. I read a lot of reviews before deciding on going to a mechanic. 25th Street Automotive seemed great from the reviews, and it still probably is, but it wasn't from my experience. I just want to share my experience: I decided to set an appointment with them to diagnose why my truck was still pulling 2 knock sensor codes after replacing the knock sensors myself. My radiator just so happened to blow up the day before the appointment, so I got it towed to 25th St Automotive. I talked with Tom and said that before we diagnose the knock sensors, I'm pretty sure I need a new radiator because it is leaking right under the radiator. He said that it would be $80 for them to pressure-check the cooling system to see if it was actually the radiator. I agreed to this to make sure it is in fact the radiator. After telling Tom that coolant will leak out of the radiator - the tech reads the codes stored on the truck, fills the truck up with coolant, takes it on a short test drive, and comes to the conclusion that they cannot do any more tests on the truck without replacing the radiator because it couldn't hold any coolant. Go figure. After telling me it would be $1240 to replace the radiator and perform the block tests, head gasket test, etc, I told him I will replace the radiator myself and will come to pick up the truck - happy to pay the $80 that we agreed to for the pressure test of the cooling system to determine if it was the radiator or not. He shows me a bill for $220 because the tech started doing the diagnostics for the knock sensor codes to make sure what I initially told them was accurate and it took an hour and a half.. After having to negotiate with Tom, he agreed to let me out at $165. I feel really let down by this shop because of all the amazing reviews I read about it. I thought after 10 minutes of going back and forth, they would live up to their reviews and all the awards they have on the walls of being such a great shop by making it right with the customer. But Tom was too adamant about having to pay the tech for the 1.5 hours of work he did. It felt too salesy rather than wanting to do right by the customer and having both of us leave on the same page. It would be a 5-star review if I was able to get out for the $80 that we agreed to for the pressure test. That way I would be paying for what was actually done. If the conclusion at that point was, "Yup, you need a new radiator" then great, that is honest work, thank you for the clarification - and then we can go from there. If y'all want to make this right, give me a call. But if not, this review will stay as my experience at 25th Street Automotive. read more

I needed a new mechanic and chose these folks based on both their Yelp review and how close they are to home. Once I had made my first appointment, I knew I'd made the right choice -- from the very first communication, Mike and his staff were friendly and extremely helpful. They looked over my vehicle and told me exactly what was wrong, what was right, and what I could and couldn't get away with fixing right off (and what was just needed as regular maintenance). They kept me appraised of everything that was being done and how long it was going to take (and were very apologetic when it took longer!). I guess honesty is not as important as making a quick buck for these guys...after getting my car fixed here I was stilling having trouble and brought it back in...turns out it was a bad battery that I bought the day my car was repaired...cue me finding a ride taking 2hrs off work so I could go to there shop then go exchange the batteries...although inconvenient not a big deal and also not something they caused. The fact they charged me $123 to have my car sit in there parking lot was a big deal. That's pretty expensive for something Autozone does for free. Needless to say my small power steering leak, freon refill/recharge, and future oil changes will be done by someone else. read more

SOOO my Friday started as most other Fridays do. Went to the near by gas station to fill up and refile my coffee mug. Filled up my truck went to start it and it would start. As this is happening at the pump Jose is walking into the store to do his morning stop at the local gas station. I just flat ask if he is a mechanic because I can see he works for Sams automotive from his shirt he is wearing. long story short. He immediately stated doing diagnostics and asking question. had me pop the hood took the terminals off cleaned them and tried to get it going till the battery died. he then told me that he had to go to the shop and get a couple of things to check out what was wrong with the truck. he said he would be back shortly and to wait for his return. I did he came back shortly thereafter brought his diagnostic computer to get a reading said it looks like it was the dirty terminal faulty ground and boom got my truck started. I gave the man a hug for what he did and told me when I went to offer money for his services it's not a problem and then suggested a couple of things for me to do and that if I had any more problems to let him know. wow customer for life right there. ill drive from Globe AZ to bring my truck this shop. I'm an emergency doctor. I'm used to people showing up in my emergency department at 2 AM saying things like "I coughed once, then I googled it, and I read that a cough can mean cancer, so I'm here." I'm trained to assuage the fears that Dr. Google tends to put into my patients' minds. I showed up today at 25th Street Automotive with a squeaky clutch. As in, my clutch squeaks when I push on it. I had no clue whether this mattered or not. I don't know anything about cars. I asked Mechanic Google, who told me squeaking could be a sign of the clutch starting to die, so I scheduled an appointment and dropped off my car. Turns out, the clutch pedal needed some lubricant. The mechanics not only fixed this for me for free, but they also picked me up at my house to bring me back to the shop when my car was finished with diagnostics. They even held their composure and didn't even laugh when they realized that my "squeaking clutch" literally just meant that the pedal was squeaking. True professionals. 5-star service. I'll probably let my husband take care of all car-related problems from now on, but 25th Street Auto will definitely be keeping our business. read more
