I have been taking my 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300 Sport to Jose at German Auto since 2015. It's now 01/2019. I would like to state that Jose is an honest mechanic. My car has nearly 150k miles on it, and he's been a part of basically every mile since I've moved to the area. I've brought my C300 in for multiple issues that dealerships have quoted me outrageous amounts for, and when I bring it to Jose, he always sets the record straight and tells me exactly what I would need. If there's ever anything he can't do (things like key replacements, dealership-only resets, etc) he tells me right away. My car takes a whopping 8 quarts of German synthetic oil, and Jose charges around $100 for the oil change. House of Imports Mercedes (local dealer) charges around $225. In this shop, you're not going to see a waiting room, coffee or any sort of amenity. This is a car repair shop and a car repair shop only. You are also not going to see inflated prices or any sort of fee for operating these sorts of worthless amenities - so it's a win-win. There's no shuttle service or free car wash, but you are supporting an honest local business who does great work at quality prices. This shop also speaks Spanish. Over these past years, I've had a sincere and trustworthy business relationship with Jose. He's down to earth, got a good sense of humor and an honest businessman. I brought my Mercedes losing oil, the engine was shooting out oil. This was my first Mercedes and I just purchased it from a used car spot about 3 months prior. I went German Auto and met with Jose. He looked at the Car for a few minutes with me standing by. He was very honest and could have told me anything at that point, and I know my way around a engine. He explained no one has changed the the air filters and the turbo is sucking air and oil out of the engine and blowing it all over the engine. All I need is to change the engine air filters and now a good cleaning. The cost was small: 2 filters + 1hr labor and my heart could beat again. Very satisfied with the customer service. From the moment I got there, the mechanic was very open and willing to accommodate me. He told me he would call me after he had finished with other clients and give me the details of his diagnostic, and he did: right at the time he told me. He said I had the option of going forward with the repair or I could decline if I decided it's better not to. After agreeing to move forward, he did the repair on my car. When I picked it up, he walked me through what happened with my car, why it reacted the way it did, and what he did to fix the problem. Extremely professional! Ricardo is one of the few honest mechanics out there. I brought my truck for a tune up and a check engine light. He saved me tons of money on the repairs. I had previously taken it to AAMCO, where they charged me $200 for the diagnostic and quoted me over $1800 for the repairs. Some which may not be necessary but they weren't too sure. I found German automotive through my cousins recommendation and I'm so glad I came here. He mostly specializes in Mercedes Benz and BMW's but he did a fantastic job on my Lincoln Navigator. I have been coming to this shop for about 3 years now. The first experience it was ok, second time was horrid, I had to come back after service was done because there was a leak and the mechanic that worked on my car was an Asian man who did not speak any English, so Jose I believe is the owner fired him on the spot, well that wasn't my problem, I just wanted my car fixed. After all the drama was over Jose fixed my car and good to go. Today, was my 3rd Service for B1, I arrived at the shop told him what I needed. Apparently Jose had no idea what needed to be done? He asked for my manual to see what service and quoted me for a price that he didn't even know what to work on. Immediately grabbed my keys walked away, never coming back. read more

If you need to repair your mercedes for any reason please do not let these crooks repair your car. They will take your money and return your car without repairing it. After paying them over 2K in repairs costs my car has the same problems. I have returned my car to them over 3 times so they can correct the issues, but it seems as though they are very incompetent to even fix their own mistakes. Since these issues, the car has been re-inspected by the mercedes dealership and it was soon discovered that they did not install the parts correctly, which lead to more damage to other parts. The owner is refusing to refund my money and I have no choice but to take him to court. So word to the wise, save your money and go to a reputable repair shop. Took my car to German Auto Services to repair a oil leak on New Years Eve. I was told by the mechanic that I would be called with a estimate in a couple hours. Three hours later my Husband calls, and they have already done the work at a cost of, $307.00. When I talked to the owner, and asked why we were not called he responded, It was broken, so we fixed it. I told him that we could not afford that at this time, we would not have had you do the work if you had called first that I would have to make payments. I then asked what kind of payments you except, he said credit card, check, cash. He was not happy about making payments. I told him I am expecting a credit card in the mail on Sat. or Monday, would it make you feel better if you keep my car until then. He said ok. Well we went to pick up my car today, 1/4/2016, Owner was not there, but mechanic was. When my Husband handed him the credit card, he said, we only take cash or check. I told him the owner said he would take a credit card, so he calls him, gets off the phone and says he has lost his phone and can not take credit cards at this time, and he can only take cash or credit card. I told him we were going to have to make payments, and that I was taking my car. Owner calls us at home and is upset that we yelled at his mechanic. When I mentioned that we were never called with a estimate, he said, you did not talk to me, I said we talked to your mechanic, he said he would call. Again with, you did not talk to me. The bottom line is this man did not call with a estimate, he is a con artist, and is not taking responsibility for messing up. I would not go to German Auto Service again if it was the last repair shop on earth. I also would not give them any stars. Update: Called the Bureau of Automotive Repair on this guy. He is not registered, nor does he have a license. Can not legally take money for his repairs. read more
