I trusted them to take care of my vehicle and this is what I discovered when I took the car to another mechanic after continuous problems with my engine and starter. And they hit my bumper after I brought my car to them straight from an auto body shop! I shutter to think of what could've happened, please think twice about coming here. Then wouldn't take time to schedule a appointment or discuss the way he charges for service. He said he's a one man shop and does not have time and hung up. I was referred to Sinard by a friend who had nothing but praise for him. I must say that he's very nice. Pros: He's nice and appears to be honest Didn't hard sell me on anything that I didn't request Cons: Slow service speed; probably because he has so much business Didn't perform the services requested Expensive for what work was done My Mini Cooper was due for its 60k checkup. I do a lot of the maintenance of the vehicle myself so I take the standard checkups somewhat seriously so a professional can check it out. I made a list of the things that I wanted Sinard to work on, called him up, and found out that he was very busy and it would be better to bring it in the next week. I did so and got there first thing in the morning to drop it off. We went over the list of things I wanted done (flush the radiator, brake fluid, transmission, etc) along with a few things that specifically needed to be covered (I had a very slow oil leak that other mechanics had also noticed and a warning light came on/off randomly that I wanted diagnosed) and what not to do (change the oil; I'd just done that and it didn't need to be repeated). Sinard then told me that he was very busy that day and it might take the entire day to fix. Since I was dropping it off before work, that was fine. Later in the day, he informed me that he might have to keep it overnight and that he was doing his standard check. Unfortunately, he didn't listen to my request so I ended up paying for an oil change and "standard checks" that didn't come up with anything. I asked about the oil leak and Sinard, in my opinion, didn't actually check and responded on the fly that he couldn't find any leak. I asked about the diagnostics and he said that he didn't find any error messages. He did offer to do my brakes rotor/pad replacement. Overall the price that I paid was way too much for the service and speed that I received. I'll continue to look for a mechanic that works on Mini's. I appreciate people stating that he's honest and it is true that I didn't pay for anything that was 'miraculously' discovered or critical but I can't say that I trust him to do what is asked, in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. read more

So, Sinard is seriously as good as it gets. I use him for service on a Porsche Cayenne and a Porsche 911. The Cayenne is modern and the 911 is old. He handles all the complex electronics and issues of a modern Porsche at a fraction of the price of a dealer shop. He also knows all the little issues that make Porsches different than other manufacturers. He has saved me numerous times with my old 911. Recently he removed my alarm that was screwing up the electrical system and he is always fair and honest. I have not had him service any other German cars, so I can't speak on those, but he always handles my Porsches perfectly. Sinard is a great guy, he is honest and a pleasure to deal with. Super pissed. Took my 2013 VW Passat in last Thurs Sept 13, 2018, at around 8:30' am to get rid of a horrendous creaking sound. I told Sinard that he was the third mechanic looking at it and that the others just told me the car was safe and ok to drive but didn't fix the issue. I figured a German car specialist could succeed where the non-specialists failed... but no... Sinard kept the car all day until about 5 pm and then told me that the car was safe to drive. He charged me $85 without any kind of receipt of services rendered. The horrible creaking noise is still there and just as loud as before. So, in the end, I was out of a car all day, had to waste money on Uber, and I just ended up spending a bunch of money for nothing. At least the other mechanics didn't charge me when they were unable to fix the problem. read more

Took my ML here yesterday for a much needed 50K mile service. I expected to fork out at least $800 which is what the dealership charged me for my first service. Sinard told me that I only needed an oil change and rear brake replacement so I walked out paying much less. He seemed honest enough and very nice. German motors is a very friendly organization, but sadly rather incompetent. I brought my volvo s70 to them requesting a check up and specifically identifying the problem of leaking coolant. They failed to find anything, but charged me nevertheless. Fast forward to three weeks. My coolant levels are dropping faster. I take it to another mechanic who in literally 20 seconds of hearing my description reaches to the floor under the steering wheel, moves a cover and finds a huge leak in the radiator. I also described another problem which they failed to look at, and then blew me off when I asked about. I took their word for it that it wasn't an issue then - that looks like a bad idea now. If you want a friendly mechanic, go here. If you want one who knows what they're doing, do not. read more

The best customer service, great automotive work! Came here for a oil change on a low mileage CLK, and Sinard was very honest and his technician did great work! Not to mention great to have a conversation with about cars, one enthusiast to another. I hung around to watch the work be performed, and I was very impressed. They do the "drain" method, so put the car up on a lift and unplug the oil pan- not using an oil extractor through the dip stick line. This is even better than what MB dealers will do. They use great quality materials, german oil filters, and Total synthetic oil. Not to mention, did a very thorough inspection of the entire car. Like others said, very honest and only performs service that is required. The FSS system in the car hadn't been reset lately due to the low use of the car, and he didn't try to upsell any service.
