So here's my situation. I didn't want to bring my new/used Audi into the dealership because they had some negative reviews. So I went on Yelp to look at the best reviews. Found this place just wanted an oil change as my first time owning an Audi a secondhand car had 30,000 miles on it. Dropped it off on a Thursday to do the oil change. They came back with "oh you need your 40,000 mile tuneup plus you have an active leak on a water pump" $2600.00 What It pissed me off the most was the guy at the front desk had a smirk on his face the whole time as he was explaining the situation. I told him when I walked in. I was financially strapped & he knew I could barely probably afford the oil change, Never owning an Audi or a German vehicle before I didn't want to mess around with this car so I bought a "maintenance package warranty" when I bought the car... The warranty package only covered a portion of the water pump. What I didn't know was that the previous owner had paid for a maintenance package and all the oil changes as well as the 40,000 maintenance was already paid for & this bullshit prick didn't tell me. Tried to pick my car up on a Friday a day later. No one's answering the phone. No one was there... I had to get a rental all weekend and wait for them to open on Monday to get my car back . As I drove away the next day, a maintenance light came on as these rats don't have the capacity to reset properly to let the car know that the 40,000 package was already done. I finally brought it to Audi. They did everything that this piece of shit company did for free including my AC which wasn't included it for me at no cost fuck these guys. Pirates. read more

I had been looking for a new mechanic since Music City P&A closed. I had heard good things about these guys and also this is where the mechanic from Music City went. I took my 911 in for a plug change and couldn't be happier. I had gotten a quote from way back before covid started and they honored the price even though there had been a slight price increase on the parts. I also had an opportunity to overhear some of the conversation going on between the techs and service writers. Without fail they were about how can we do this in the most cost effective manner to help the customer. It was very impressive. I normally don't write reviews but after experiencing GPO, I felt compelled to. For context, I am a new MB owner, I know virtually nothing about the mechanics of cars (no judgement please). I took my GLA250 to the good folks at GPO last week and I immediately felt that my car was in good hands. Shawn is incredible. He is extremely knowledgeable (without being condescending), friendly (but not pushy) and he clearly cares about his customers and their cars. They solved my car's issue in a timely manner, did a full service and he personally waited 30 mins after closing for me to get there to pick it up. He also did some research and made recommendations for my car for service elsewhere. He admitted that they wouldn't be the best price for this work and recommended other local options that would be cheaper. I have looked up shops when we planned on moving near the nashville area and I found this shop knowing it would be a good fit for my car because it's far from stock. A big thing that matters to me is the fact that they are passionate about the VW/Audi scene and it makes me feel at home knowing the mechanics would take care of the car better and not thinking it's a gold mine. another thing I noticed right away when i called them with my concern they sounded confident in my problem and was not confused on what i was explaining to them. German Performance Options - My 2016 VW GLI - Auto Repair Near Me - Nashville, Tennessee

I'll preface this review by saying this is my first time working with German Performance Options. I recently went in to get an alignment on my new-to-me, classic, diesel Mercedes wagon after getting a new set of tires. (I also needed a metal door handle I'd purchased online installed.) Although the shop was busy and couldn't schedule me for a few days when I first called in, Shawn was very friendly and helpful. (Not to mention, I always take having to wait a little for an appointment with a repair shop as a good sign, because it means they're busy with lots of demand for their services.) A few days later, I dropped off the car before work. A few hours later, Shawn called to say that before doing the alignment, one of the shop's mechanic's noticed my front, driver's side ball joint needed to be replaced. And they therefore suggested not doing the alignment quite yet, because it wouldn't do any good. I told them I'd have my private Mercedes mechanic do the job and would bring it back for the alignment, as he doesn't perform those. Shawn was super nice about it and said they looked forward to seeing me soon. Lastly, they replaced the door handle well for a great price. Just moved from LA to Nashville and was in need of a shop that could help me finish up a project on my aircooled 911. I was going through the process of backdating the body work which made the old muffler incompatible with the new rear bumper. Through my research, I knew the appropriate next steps were to install SSI's, new muffler, and backdate the heater (to increase available space). However, in my past experience, there are plenty of shops willing to install the parts but very few actually understand what you are trying to accomplish and why. Therefore you tend to run into unforeseen issues because those shops aren't looking ahead because they don't really fully understand the job they are doing. Luckily GPO is one of those special shops that just "gets it". I initially met with Randall and Jay, showed them the car and explained what I was looking to do. From there, we went back and forth a bit by email coming up with a plan and agreeing on which parts to use. Once the parts arrived, I scheduled a time to drop off the car and figured I would have it back in 1-2 weeks. 2 days later, Randall sent me pictures of the completed work and the next day I was picking up the car. I was really impressed. Upon picking up the car I could see all of the work was done exactly as described and the car sounded fantastic. What may have been even more impressive was that when I drove away, my shifter felt noticeable more precise and easy to shift. I know my car pretty well and knew something was different. I text Randall later about it and found out Jay noticed it wasn't as good as it could be and adjusted it for me free of charge. That's pretty awesome :) If you have an aircooled 911, I wouldn't hesitate to let Randall and Jay work on your car. These guys know what's up. read more

Back for my second visit to this wonderful shop with my new-to-me 2013 TDI Sportwagen. I have found my long-term mechanics for my vehicle. The guys here are super nice, appointments are relatively easy to get (no month long back log), and their waiting area is perfect. Top quality fluids on display, performance options and maintenance available. I stage 2 Maloned my car with them - bump to 190hp, 300 lb/ft of torque, plus the DSG transmission tune (the real star of the show). I'm now getting 40 mpg going 80 instead of 70 mph. Coming from a stick shift preferring driver - the car is always in the right gear. I did the tunes mostly for fuel mileage and to make it a nicer every day car. I also plan to pull a trailer and or my motorcycles behind it and I thought more oomph couldn't hurt it. Highly recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Our 2019 Q7 needed a 40k service, the dealership wanted $700 for the inspection and oil change which is a complete gouge and if you know Audi it would end up being $1000 after they recommend you change air filters and any other small recommendations.... Oh and you have wait ten days until they can give you an appointment. I called GPO which is specializes in Audi, they quoted the 40k service at $250 and got me an appointment in a few days. All done and said the total was $300 due to my optional replacement of two air filters, the team was extremely honest informative and they have earned my business! read more

I took my 328i to GPO after having issues at another mechanic in Nashville. They diagnosed my issue and even looked at the invoice of the work which was previously completed elsewhere and explained that my issue should be fixed at the previous mechanic. They stated they would fix it if I wanted them to but to try the first place. Their prices are slightly cheaper than many of the other euro mechanics and they have better customer service. It is definitely a win win. Also, they changed my battery in my car for me. I will likely be updating this post because I am calling today to schedule an oil change. read more

I was referred to German performance options by a couple of people that thought they were great. Unfortunately for me, my experience was honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a car repair facility. I paid nearly $5000 to have an engine rebuilt only to continue with significant problems. Either the repair had been done incorrectly or there were issues that were not addressed completely but either way the vehicle was not functional. The initial estimate came with a warranty but when I returned a couple of times and ask them to look at the vehicle and make good on the warranty they got upset to the point of telling me to leave and never come back. I was not yelling or swearing or doing anything but trying to understand why they wouldn't repair the vehicle that I had paid them to fix. After asking to talk with the owner, we were able to have a civil conversation however the vehicle was never properly repaired and ultimately sold at a significantly reduced cost because of the engine difficulties. Prior to this I had had good experience with them but it felt like they simply would not stand behind the repair at their cost. If you're going to offer a warranty you need to make good on it. I would stay clear for any major work. read more

As a young female, I've had numerous car shops in Nashville try to rip me off (And when I say numerous I mean every single place I have taken my car). GPO is now the ONLY place I take my Audi. I've been going there for over 6 years now and havent been disappointed. Whenever something goes wrong with my car, my dad (who is 12 hours away) immediately asks "have you had Jerry at GPO look at it yet?" My dad never trusts others to work on his car, so him trusting someone else to look at his daughter's car says something. Their prices and service are much better than what I've experienced at dealerships. If you have a problem with your car that doesn't need to be fixed right away, they will actually tell you that you can wait a bit. What car shop does that? I have recommended them to many of my friends and not only have all of them been impressed, they are now loyal customers themselves. Having a german car can be frustrating when things go wrong, but at least this shop will try to ease the pain in your wallet a bit. read more

Who becomes a damsel in distress as soon as my "Check Engine" lights up on my adorable little VW? (thumbs pointing to myself) This guy. And, why is it that when one things go wrong... the whole kit and kaboodle decides to rally and suddenly an oil leak and battery issue occurs too? Lovely. With that being said, in a moment of crisis German Performance Options stepped up to the plate in a big way. I was on a way to a meeting when everything started to go haywire. I frantically called (disclosure: a friend works at GPO) and they were able to come out to the location of my car to take a gander at my mess, order a new battery for me, install it by the end of the day, and diagnose the issue with the oil leak. The prices were more than fair and the service was incredible. I was even given a brief education on what to communicate to my dealership and what to look out for when I took the car in for warranty repairs on the oil leak. If your vehicle isn't still under warranty and you are responsible for the costs, this is the spot to take your vehicle. Thanks for saving my day GPO! read more

Don't let the fact that this here place is in front of a giant grave yard keep you away, cause they done RESERECTION'ed my car ya'll. This fella that looked like he was from the mexican side of Hawaii came and greeted me and he was sweet as pie and small like a mini candy bar :) They took good care of my baby. There was this wild lady in the waitin room named Paris like the city of love but my god this woman wouldn't shut up about her gluten allergy and Jesus. Ole Yvette ain't been to church since John Candy died, lort rest him, so I wasn't much fer her brand of conversation and I'd rather lose a tow than eat a gluten free cookie to be honest (my niece told me to say TBH, is that right?). Anyways, if you're wondering, the bathroom was inescapable. The only reason I went in there was to escape from crazy ole Paris talkin my ear off. I figured I'd rather pretend to have bowel distress than be talked at about how wheat is the enemy. There was a fan in there, so I didn't have to make fake fart noises, which is nice. However, if i HAD have needed to do the doo it would've been mighty embarrassing cause a how it's right there next to the waiting room and you'd HAVE to smell it bein so darn close to the pot. Anyways, they do honest work and pretty quick. My grandaddy used to say you can have two of the three: cheap, fast, good, but I think GPO managed all three (as cheap as gettin your car a colonoscopy can be, knowwhatimean? haha well ya'll go in an say hi to em from ole Yvette and avoid a crazy lady that asks you if you'd like a cookie. Have had my 98 Beetle serviced here several times. another Euro fix shop told me I needed new injecters and maybe a fuel pump costing $900+. Took to GPO and was charged only for inspection. This may be a little long so bear with me. First we went to a very well known alternative to the BMW dealership for a quote (EXXX-FIX) on a number of things, some nuisance, some important things that needed fixing. Once we got their quote we needed to look for an alternative so we got help from yelp and found GPO. For brevity sake I'll compare the cost of one of the items needing replacing, the rear view mirror. At the "Exxx-fix" place their quote was $1131 which included 1.5hr of labor. At GPO they replaced a new OEM mirror for $650. All the other repairs were also much less costly at GPO. "Exxx-fix" accidentally gave us the dealer parts quote and the dealer was charging them $556.33 for the mirror. So there is a case to go to GPO but my experience doesn't end there. At that point I was convinced that this establishment was on the up and up. I left the car there on a Monday to get the work completed and on Tuesday I got a call that my car, while sitting in the parking lot was involved in an accident. Someone on Lebanon road was illegally changing lane, got hit, they spun out and hit our car. The way they handled this situation was extraordinary. They immediately put us in a rental car and proceeded to handle every detail, even employing one of the premier body shops in Nashville to fix the damage. Thanks to all the mechanics and especially Angie, Kim and Justus who really took great care of us. Advice: Make sure you call ahead and get an appointment for your work and give them ample time to finish the work. You will get an honest shake at this establishment. read more

After reading other good reviews, I decided to take my 2013 Jetta to the guys at GPO, because other shops hadn't seemed thrilled about my choice in vehicles. Brian at GPO was great, very friendly, honest and straightforward. I told him that it was important to me, that my car be in great mechanical shape, and he looked it over front to back, told me what to prioritize, and what could wait. I brought it in to fix the air conditioner, and a windshield wiper problem, and Brian ended up finding that my brakes needed attention. When I got my car back, I couldn't believe the difference! I didn't realize how bad my brakes had been, and now, it's like a new car! I was also very pleased at the condition my car was returned to me, without the usual greasy hand prints I have to clean from when the mechanics move the car, and aren't careful. Everything was exactly as I'd left it. 10 out of 10 will be back next time my car needs anything! If you drive a German car, these are your people! You can stop looking! read more

Brought my 2015 Mercedes gla 45 amg in. At first they said it was just an easy $500 fix but turned to be $2500 one phone call later. I have missing and loose bolts after given back to me, and also broke plastic brackets. There are also new paint chips and dings. For such an expensive car and being such fue shops to work on European cars I'm very upset in their work. They are very friendly and got me back on the road quick but I suggest if it's an expensive hard fix I will not take my car to them. read more

The old adage goes: Sell your Audi before it reaches 50,000 miles. I love my A4 and couldn't bear to sell it, so I knew repairs were going to be a regular occurrence now that I had just over 60,000 miles. I had been slowly leaking coolant since the summer and oil for at least a year. Neither were bad, but both were annoying. So I finally bit the bullet and visited German Performance Options. I asked GPO to figure out what was causing the leaks and how much it would cost to fix them. I even asked them to take a look for anything else I should be worried about (Like asking a bank robber to watch an open vault) since it hadn't been properly serviced since 2006. Within a few hours, I had an estimate on fixing the two leaks and an "all-good" on the rest of my engine. Did you catch what I said? They didn't 'find' anything else to fix. On a 2001 Audi. With 61,000 miles. Amazing. I knew I had found my place. I authorized the repairs --- which were costly only because of the parts involved. Labor costs were right in line with other German repair shops I've encountered since I bought the car. I was told to swing by about noon the next day. When I got there, the car was ready and the mechanic (who was on a break) personally went over what he did and what he saw under the hood. He even went to the shop to get my old part so he could show me what he did. I was pretty impressed at this point. But when I started the car up and pulled away and DIDN'T smell the oil burning, I smiled and steered toward the car wash. Once clean and running smooth, I instantly remembered why I love this car so much. She looks and drives like new again and I have GPO to thank for it. A few days after I picked my car up, I received a follow-up phone call ensuring everything was still OK. A nice touch. I'll never let anyone touch my A4 again. read more

Took my car here on 5/1. Car had run out of coolant. The ladies on the phone were super nice and told me I could drop it there and have it looked at on Monday. Monday came around and they couldn't look at it because apparently they were short. No one actually called to tell me that, I had to call and check myself. So finally, they call me Tuesday and want to charge me $1192 before taxes to replace my entire water pump assembly. I knew that was absurd, and I was stuck in Memphis, so I had to come back to Nashville and take it to another shop, a guy out in Old Hickory who specializes in VW's, who charged me $829.74 tax included for the same exact job. Let me remind you that you are a car mechanic, not a part supplier. You should not be in the business of selling me heavily marked up parts and furthermore charging me *gasp* $104.88 per hour of labor. The biggest insult of this place was showing up to pick up my car and them wanting to charge me $104.88 just to get my car back for them telling me the problem with it. They NEVER once told me that they would ever charge me for looking at it. It was one of those "Gotcha!" moments where they pointed out the "fine print" that had NO amount stated on it where they had me sign my car in. They also told me the oil level was zero, that was a lie. But worst of all, they told me they would look at my car without ever giving me an estimate to diagnose it. Some places don't charge, you should verbally make it clear to your customers that you DO instead of surprising them when they pick their car up. Go elsewhere if you care about honesty! My review might be a bit unique in that GPO didn't actually repair my car. Instead, they were honest and advised me that my car's issue might be covered by VW's extended warranty. So instead of not advising me of that (and charging me goodness only knows how much), they sent me to the option that would be best for me. And indeed they were right! They provided the best experience I have ever had when it comes to car repair. My 2nd car, an Audi was dead and the only way it was going to move is if I towed it. I had heard good things about this shop, so I had my car towed there. They were able to fix my car in two days, so I had it for a weekend trip that we had been planning for months!
