I had a great experience here. I'll admit that I hadn't been here in years and kind of forgot about it.. but I think it's a hidden little gem in Redlands and I hope they stick around. I'll definitely be coming back for that cold brew on tap. Delicious! I also got a pretty good smoothie and 2 good sandwiches. They had a gluten free bread option, which was nice. I'm also obsessed with the locally sourced products and produce they had. I found handmade magnesium lotion without a bunch of added fillers and junk. I also found some local honey and olive oil at great prices.. as well as local berries and figs that were just heavenly.. and freshly ground peanut butter. Yum. read more

OMG! Over priced beyond reason. If you need a specialty item, they might have it here but check for freshness (expiration dates especially, if available). For typical everyday items (liquor, produce, meat, etc.) try your nearby supermarket. You'll save a ton of money on those items elsewhere. I have no problem supporting our locally owned markets but in turn it's fair to expect competitive prices for common items. read more

N0 Italian Sausage. Made the trip from Beaumont to Redlands for the great Italian Sausage at Gerrard's to be told by the Butcher that they did not have casings and had no idea when they would arrive. Also, to add to my frustration, they did not have any Sweet or Hot bulk sausage available. As a former 30 year resident of Redlands and a loyal Gerrard's customer, this was greatly disappointing. More concentration on the basics that made Gerrard's a great market and less on all the Artisan culinary items that are now available, should be the direction to keep their customers. Also, Gerrard's does not have the best prices on items like wine and spirits (Total Wine), dairy products, and other basic grocery items. When you put lipstick on a pig, it is still a pig. Also, the quality of the produce is greatly less than in the past. read more

I came here to take advantage of the regular BOGO special on packages of two butterflied pork chops, and picked up other needed groceries as I prowled along the aisles. The price for the pork chops was jacked up higher than normal for one package, but the two for one special still saved money. Yet almost nowhere else I looked did on this particular outing. Food prices were certainly not reduced in consideration of customers who might have lost their job due to Covid-19 disruptions of the economy. If anything, they were raised! $2.79 was charged for a 15.25 ounce can of lima beans; and $2.50 for one regular-sized avocado. Even though I was really craving some guac, just as a matter of principle alone I drew the line at a little over a pound tub of fresh guacamole priced at $11.99! Instead, with some patience I saved $6.00 and got a respectable brand of packaged guac slightly smaller at Sprouts two days later. When checking out, my total cost for groceries in a shopping cart that was just 3/4 full was just under $200. And to add insult to economic injury, I was shorted $1.00 in change until I caught the error and brought it to the clerk's attention. This was clearly an inadvertent error, and another dollar bill was quickly handed to me. But a customer should not have to double-check the change provided. I will still shop here periodically, but only for specialty items I can't easily find at other grocery stores, like BOGO pork chops, BOGO steaks, bearnaise sauce, and crisp fried shoestring potatoes. read more

Just went to grab a few muffins hoping they'd be fresh. Soon found out that they were most likely a week old from one of their former employees. Took a bite of one and it tasted stale. Very disappointed. Also the store is not what it used to be. A nice market to find some interesting food items you will not see in your typical grocery market , such as root beer milk and a wide variety of natural cheeses. Prices are fairly priced, not too pricey on some commercial products. Good location blended in residential neighborhood, which appears to be a local gem. read more

Although their veggies are sometimes not the freshest, there are so many delightful things you can get here that that you can't get elsewhere. Examples - specialty cheeses (they were stocking the best burrata I would find), local fruits (fresh orange juice from super sweet local groves), hard to find fruits (Yumi watermelons), baked goods (best apple pie I can buy at a grocers with crispy apples), convenient smoked and marinated meats for BBQ. I used to like coming into this place, but it has taken a noticeable downturn in customer service lately. Take what happened today. The girl at the checkout didn't even tell me how much my total was after she rang me up, and when I said thank you, she glared at me as if I insulted her. I had to ask for the receipt (which she was about to throw away.) But when another employee walked up to talk to her as I was putting my things away, her attitude changed and she was instantly friendly...with her coworker. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've had an issue like this. Be it the deli or checkouts, it just seems like a really negative atmosphere. The coffee shop in the corner of the store seems okay still, so that's keeping this from being a 1 star review. Genuinely bummed to write such a negative review about a neighborhood market, but today just felt like the final straw. read more

I'm giving this market a 3 star rating due to the lousy customer service; 9 out of 10 times when I come here, the employees are extremely rude: they don't attempt to give a warm welcome when ringing you out, even when you ask them how they're doing. Especially Emery; the dude is often short and stern with customers but with his co-workers seems nice. Most of the cashiers here act like you just being there to shop is a hassle for them to have to deal with. The fact that it's rare to encounter a friendly employee here is honestly very strange to me; usually Redlands' businesses have very friendly staff, which is what makes the city awesome, but this is legit the one place I hardly have a good, positive encounter in. Other than that, I love the small town feel of this grocery store. read more

I have always come to this grocery store for beer and items off the shelf, but when I went to buy hot food, I was highly disappointed on the cleanliness. Also, this made me look around at other things, and overall the store needs someone full time to clean/ maintenance the place. Dead flies in windows, molding top panels, cracked floors, and the kitchen needs to be fully cleaned from top to bottom. The food and customer service at the front juice/cafe is great. In the back though it is a hit or miss. I worked in a assisted living and this food in the back area is so sub par, I would have not served it to my residents. For example, they keep their batter in buckets which tells me it is not made fresh. They keep their food heated by lamps and not heating tables so it is luke warm, and I was the first to eat it. The guy prepping also you cleaned his nose then continued to prep. He had his mask lowered the entire time. I mean the good about this place is that they have a massive beer cave and its local but there are sections of the store that just can't be missed. I'm not uploading any pictures or images for the fact that I hope to give them a chance to change some of the imagery. Some say if you don't like the place don't go to it, well I would like to go and see this place in much better shape. read more

I love being able to walk to this lovely market and get fresh fruit and local produce, gifts, coffee. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, the store is clean and has a warm inviting vibe to it! Gotta love a home town market! The beer cave has an impressively wide variety to offer. Everything from local favorites, to random brews from all over. I can appreciate that Gerrards is right down the street, and is a good spot when I need to pick up random ingredients, ice cream, and even some coffee at Side Door (that's located conveniently inside). read more

Spending the day exploring Redlands, I came across this small market. What a fun place! It evokes a really homey small-town yet upscale, feeling. This store has unique items, a deli, fresh bakery products, hot soups, gourmet chocolates and treats, and the usual grocery store things. Really, something for everyone. It's the only place I saw next year's Redlands calendar for sale. There were some great prices on produce, and a yummy selection of muffins and brownies. I'll certainly stop in next time I visit Redlands. read more

This is a single-store, neighborhood market with a small footprint. It is not a chain. So this should be kept in mind as to variety and marketing. There are several food store in Redlands, and the competition with variety and pricing is fierce. It is convenient for picking up a few missing items. The beer selection is large for a market of this size. I have found the staff to be helpful, particularly the meat department. But since this is a small store, the specially staff work limited hours. They offer onsite smoked meats, and prepare several meal options. This is particularly good for those who want convenience that live in the vicinity. Their produce seems to be a bit better quality than found elsewhere. Over the years the store has been a great supporter of local fundraising programs. read more

This place is the most disgusting place I've ever seen. Flies trapped in the deli meat case moldy cheese. food way past expiration. If you're not careful the rotisserie chickens are the least two days old. They use the same old rotisserie chicken to make their chicken salad, as well as whatever turkeys are not finished from the day are stored in the freezer and used to make those turkey pot pies. The meat and cheese slicer is that they use to cut the deli meat look so old and dirty. The whole place looks like it's falling apart if you look up the ceiling tiles are stained dirty old. When was the last time this place has ever been truly checked by the health department? The owner seems greedy and doesn't treat his workers well shit just rolls downhill. read more

Excellent customer service‼ Employees came up and was asking if we need any help. We told the employees each time this is our first time coming into Gerrards. Gerrards reminded both my wife and myself of the grocery store's that we were in the cities that we grew up in. I grew up in Saratoga Ca ( Northern California) in the late 1950's we had a store called Buy and Save and it was just like Gerrards. They had what I needed. I was in a hurry and grabbed the first one on the shelf. My mistake. When I got home I discovered the butter was four months past its sell-by date. Sell-by dates aren't the final word on product quality, but this old butter still on the shelf shows the store doesn't rotate its stock. Not good. So today I committed a crime. I made a beer substitution without the express permission of Bob the beverage manager. ( actually it was a beer inclusion). It was the last six pack and it had one beer missing. I filled the empty slot in the six pack with another Beer from the same brand. (guess I was just surprised that a little market like Gerards actually has a beverage manager. They have more employees than customers, that's for sure.) Luckily the cashier noticed my malfeasance and called me out on it. She asked me if I got Bob's permission to do so. I replied that I had not that I did not ask anyone. She immediately notified Bob who came down to have a look himself. Bob is a large man, kind of a taller version of the skipper from Gilligans island. After a few minutes Bob walks down , peaks around the corner of the counter , nods his approval and walks away. I nod and give Bob a thumbs up. Thank you bluish purple haired cashier girl for keeping me out of trouble. I don't think I could've lived with myself if I had actually gotten away with it. You are a credit to the cashiers of the world. I only come in your store once or twice a year even though I live around the corner so that's why I don't know all the rules. read more

I loved this grocery store. This is totally your "neighborhood" grocery store, but on the upscale of grocery stores. They have deli section with a sandwich and other hot food to go. If you are looking for cheese this is the place to get cheese. They have so many variety of cheese selections. They also have fondue pre-mix if you are into fondues. Also so many different brands of ginger beers. They got so many wine selections and brands. I loved coming in here! read more

I have gone to Gerard's for egg salad at the deli and all the workers leave before they close at 7pm. I'm there before they officially close the deli and the workers leave before that. I had to call the store and the manager told me the same thing, the workers have left before the deli closes at 7pm. Poor service. read more

This market is disgusting! Have been visiting here all my life and am always appalled when visiting at the sheer neglect and lack of cleanliness. This entire store is deteriorating with no funds going into its general care, cleaning or upkeep. I have called the County health department many times over the years on the unhygienic conditions where food is served, displayed and handled. My photos are just a sample of the state of the place. Went in here day before Memorial Day to purchase their featured brand of hot dogs Boars Head and they had none stocked. It's not the first time this has happened. Is it too much to ask that a store stock well in anticipation of a busy BBQing holiday? No...it's not. read more

When I lived in the area, Gerrard's was my go to when I wanted to spoil myself and get great food. It was like an adult candy store with everything your hearts desired. Recent, on a trip beck to visit family, I stopped to treat myself to great food and a great experience. I was saddened at what I found. When I walked in the store looked old and in disrepair. I went to get Bread pudding but they were several days expired. I then tried the chocolate confection isles and found way too many expired chocolate. All the ones I loved were expired. I then went to the vegetables and fruits. The peaches were a mix of shriveling peaches that were way past their prime and over ripened peaches. You have to pick through them to find a good one. I purchased an apple tart and the young lady gave excellent service. The over all select was sparse and the store looked old and a poor version of its former self. The store looked run down and aged as if no care has been put into it. I left very sad as if I lost a happy time in my childhood. Sad. read more
