I can say with confidence that Tropical Smoothie Cafe is well worth of a 5 star rating. There's a very good reason I come to this place nearly every time I'm in Vero. This update is long overdue. There are two main factors that prompt this rating change. First, I learned you can basically order any smoothie on the menu with "No Turbinado or Added Sugar" to make it relatively healthy and so that you aren't a jittery cracked out mess after your smoothie. "No Turbinado or Added Sugar" are the magic words at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Unless you're some freak who puts cream and sugar in their coffee or orders Sweetened Tea, then you will want to remember the magic words of "No Turbinado or Added Sugar" during your visit. Look your smoothie guide straight in the eye, and politely say "No Turbinado or Added Sugar". Your smoothie will arrive with that perfect level of mild natural sweetness, and you will feel great after consumption. Since doing this, I have NEVER had a bad experience here. The remarkable consistency is worth 5 stars in itself. The same can't be said for most other smoothie places that use fruit blends and come absolutely loaded with sugar even if you ask for none (looking at you Smoothie King). Second, Tropical Smoothie Cafe no longer plays lame music. I remember during some of my early visits, the establishment would play washed out pop punk music that made me cringe. Those times are gone. While the location does not have the exceptional music tastes of say a good health food store or a killer DJ, it has gotten tolerable. Could their aesthetics be better? Sure. But I'm not here for the music. I'm here for the smoothies without and turbinado or added sugar. As long is the music isn't actively pissing me off (and it no longer is), then we're okay here. Third, this menu is crazy customizable. You might have the fear "Oh, I want a smoothie, but I don't think it has enough protein!" Wrong, idiot. You can ask your smoothie guide to add a protein supplement to your smoothie. And not only that, you can choose from three different kinds - whey, soy and pea. You can select the protein variety that most effectively complements your mildly sweet smoothie creation. Because if you aren't a sugar addict, you have remembered the magical words at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Now you're keeping your body healthy, avoiding excess sugar and complementing your work out with some added protein. There are other supplements available at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, but I don't know what they are because I'm a man, and I only need some protein added to my smoothie. All added supplements are only $1, so you really have no excuse. You're still getting a hell of a deal here. Which brings me to my next point. Fourth. This place is a good value. For my smoothie with No Turbinado or Added Sugar, add X protein, I pay like $6.50 or something. Compare that with your pretentious juice bar at wants you to pay like $8 for a small cup of juice. At Tropical Smoothie Cafe, I get a healthy smoothie that leaves me feeling great for a good price. This is practically a meal replacement too. The smoothies are the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. And the place is not pretentious in the slightest. The smoothie guides are always friendly. Sometimes service can get a bit slow when they're busy, but you see that the smoothie guides are doing the best they can and will serve you as soon as they can. The same cannot be said for the waitresses at Cap's Pizza, but that's a different review. One final caveat. Don't bother with the food at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Actually, I've never had it. I've only bothered with smoothies. But the food just screams gimmick to me. You come here for the smoothies. Go to that Greek place next door if you want to eat something solid. But I'm here to rate the smoothies. And those are great (as long as you order them with no turbinado or added sugar). Anyway, I'm getting bored, so I'm gonna wrap this up. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is well deserving of a 5 star rating. It meets all the criteria of a great establishment. A great product, a good price, good service, offering something that nobody else around here really offers. I applaud Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Thank you for reading. On top of that, the jetty punch was absolutely DISGUSTING, tasted ONLY like ice and unripe strawberries. Called the place, sent to voicemail, then went back to get a refund and the workers COULDN'T give me a refund. There was no manager on duty, so the workers didn't know how to give me a refund, and even said "they couldn't because the order was completed in the kitchen." WHAT?!?! Couldn't give me cash either, and the manager wouldn't respond to the workers' calls. Absolutely unacceptable to have no manager working on the weekends, leaving the workers to run the whole business themselves. Then they said I had to COME BACK to get a refund when the manager was working!!!!!!! Will NEVER go here again, so absolutely disappointed in Tropical Smoothie. You just lost a customer forever, and now my dad is down $16 on a meal I DIDN'T EVEN EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
