Great service. Really nice people in a cool bohemian setting off Hwy 99. Love the artwork all…read moreover. The host explained the menu to us and we got a couple of chili dawgs (Everyone's Fav), hold the sour cream, with an order of fries. Yes, they accept credit cards. They hand you a buzzer that tells you to collect your order and it worked for us from the nearby parking lot. I'm sure the sour cream would have made it even more over the top good but both of us are sadly lactose intolerant and not big believers in dairy subs. However, the seasoned fries were hot and tasty and perfect to dip in the excellent chili. I just lost my soul cat and these dawgs were a perfectly indulgent, guilty treat on a days like these where I need to wash the blues away.

I love the idea of this small take-out joint. Entrepreneur quits her regular job to create a small…read morerestaurant. Her daughter also quits to help her out. Lots of fresh made menu items, some with a twist from time honored recipes. I really want to support them, but one problem . . . I've gone two times in the last four days around 11:15am, and they were closed. As far as I know, they should be open at 11am. On Saturday, I saw a young lady come of of the door, so I walked over, and she said the owner wasn't there yet, and invited be to come back in 30 minutes. i finished my other arrands and came back 40 minutes later, and they were still not open. I parked in the lot behind the tiny restaurant and waited another 10 minutes before finally leaving. Three days later, I came by at about 11:15am again, and they still hadn't opened. I understand the challenges of a small business, but someone needs to understand the importance of opening on time! I'm not on a clock for work, but if I had been and clocked out to go for lunch, and they weren't open 20-25 minutes after they should be, I'm not sure I would ever go back. I will give them another chance, because I want to support them. I will stop by after 11:30, and hope they are open. UPDATE: I decided to give them another chance and I went by for the third time in six days. This time i waited until 11:40 because the last two times it was closer to the opening time of 11am. SHOCKER!! They were still not open, or even looking like they would be any time soon. The front door was locked, the chairs outside were still stacked and there was no sign that anyone was around. For me, that's strike three. You would think a small business would do all they could to be open on time. And if you have a valid reason for not being open, leave a small not at the door. I'm sure the food is good, but I won't waste my time driving the 4 miles to try again. Sorry ladies!

A favorite a while back was a thrift clothing shop with a bar in NoPo. They have their signature dog toppings, beer, and mixed drinks which can be made without alcohol. Hot dogs, the humble tube steak, rest on the horns of the dilemma. They are not that healthy but they use the whole animal. Sonoran hot dogs came across my radar a few years back, so sometimes I seek out new dogs. Third Coast is a hard-working one person machine. Sage takes the orders, pours the drinks, puts cross-hatch marks with a mold, grills them on an electric grill, toasts the buns, and assembles with toppings. Order at the bar, bring cash, listen for order up, self buss. We had the San Anto and the Amarillos. I think the Amarillos was more successful with the sweetness of the BBQ sauce. There is plenty of seating, and plenty of street parking. They can do vegan and gluten free.

I think we came a little late in the day on a Sunday and the bartender did not seem thrilled to have to make hot dogs. The space is open with high top stools and picnic tables, not super comfortable. Our dogs were good, but could have been grilled more or been hotter. Other pictures of dogs seem more artistic...two of them didn't have the cut marks of grill sear...
