After living out of the state for 2 decades Getty St. Grill is a favorite place of mine to enjoy a meal and conversation with my father. This diner has been remodeled and looks amazing. Muskegon is competitive when it comes to places to go for breakfast. I've been to most of them. Getty St. Grill is cozy and quiet. Meal Portions are great. The waitresses are pleasant and smiling. You know you are welcome when you choose to dine here. There are literally only 3 places I tell people they need to stop in and eat at when they visit Muskegon, Michigan. I have been looking forward to going back to Getty Street since my first visit a couple of years ago. This time I ended up leaving within minutes of my arrival. Our group of out of town family continued to grow and although the wait staff was wonderful and did what they could happily to accommodate us the hostess did not want our business. I cannot remember ever encountering someone as rude as the hostess was to my sons and myself. She did not care to listen to us or the other patrons who were trying to stand up for us. Who has ever needed to defend themselves at a restaurant before? We took the 8 additional people in our party to the Brunch House instead which was wonderful and I highly recommend. read more

I'm in Muskegon a few times a year for business. Decided to wonder away from the hotel to the Getty Street Grill. I cannot say enough positive about the experience. Service was impeccable as the group worked as a team. My coffee never got below 1/2 a cup. The western omelet was absolutely huge, full of fillings, and tasty. I took 1/2 back to the hotel. It's a good place for breakfast. They make some great omelettes. The service is prompt and the servers are cordial. My pet peeve, I don't understand why they stopped offering a coffee to go. They claim it's the distribution because of COVID. They can't get the cups. Funny, that's not an issue for other breakfast places in town. I think the owner is simply trying to cut some costs. However, a coffee usually goes for around $2.50. I don't think it's that much of an expense. read more

Heard about the famous stuffed hash brown from many people/reviews. And let me tell you --it did NOT disappoint. The three of us could not decide what to get. So what should you do in a situation like that??? Order numerous items and turn the meal into a buffet!!! Main items were corned beef hash w eggs/bacon, Getty St Griller, and the breakfast burger. Then a 3 pancake platter, stuffed hash brown, and another corned beef hash to split between the 3 of us. Much to our surprise, they brought the pancakes and stuffed hash brown already split and on separate plates for us. Very helpful and courteous. Staff was great/pleasant and very helpful. I have just recently experienced this great spot for the first time. I was so impressed i have been there 2 more times. Servings are big enough for 2 meals. The staff made me very comfortable like the whole team was my server not just one person. I have been to some restaurants where waiting for my server to bring me some coffee I watch other servers walk right past my table without even offering because I am not their table. This company however every server talk to me every server helped me the greeter was very nice I was very impressed I'm sorry I have not experienced this in the past but now that I found this little gem in Getty Street it is now on my radar as a target location for a great place to eat read more

The wife and I stopped there for breakfast. All of the reviews said it was great. The food was delicious. She had the hash and cheese and was raving about the omelet. I had the pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage patty. The pancakes were huge and delicious, my scrambled eggs were light fluffy and delicious. The bacon and sausage were both delicious. The service is beyond amazing, our coffee cups never got below half. The staff were all friendly and attentive. When we visit the area again we will definitely be back. read more

Simple cash only diner/cafe on a pretty bleak street with super friendly staff wearing tie dyed t-shirts (imagine your sister or grandma in a tie dye shirt and you get the picture). While there was nothing gourmet about this place the coffee was hot, and kept coming and the standard American diner fare was quite good. Easily the worst omelet I've ever had, albeit the stuffed hash browns were delicious despite going directly into postprandial cardiac arrest. Even though I got carry out, overall it was a nice enough venue and the gal at the front was super nice (I believe she was the owner). Sadly, it was buried in canned cheesesauce (like bars put on nachos). The egg was done to perfection making the disappointment of the taste that much worse, because it could have been very good with a good sauce. Mine came out room temperature but, the waitress was really good about responding and getting it warmed up at least. The place was clean and food had a good price. BUT....BUYER BEWARE. This was the nastiest breakfast I've ever received from this place, not only did I had to return a greasy stuffed hash brown, but the waitress was rude as heck and when I got home to eat the new one it was nasty and the pancake was dry and rubbery, I will never ever return and won't recommend nobody to dine there! They also need to POST a policy about refunds because I did request to get my money back and the cashier said per policy she can't refund my money back but remake my food, so I asked where's the policy posted at and they don't have one, just a rule they made up and stuck with it. Really good food! We went there on a Sunday around 12:30 on our way home from a camping trip and the place was packed (only had to wait about 5 or so mins for a table). My husband ordered the Reuben sandwich, it was delicious. I ordered the boneless wings, and they were amazing (real chicken breast, best I've ever had, better than BWW in my opinion). Since they were so busy, it took a little longer than normal to get our food, but it was worth it. Most people were eating breakfast, and it all looked delicious, especially the stuffed hash browns. Sausage and bacon were comparable to the "brown and serve" variety, blueberry pancakes made up for any shortcomings of the breakfast meats. They were HUGE and very favorable!
