The servers were great and answered all of our questions and the Indian food was delicious. While the food taste very Indian we loved that it's a modern twist on some of the dishes. I know I'm very late to the Ghee party, but it was WELL worth the wait. My friends and I came recently and opted for the tasting menu (everyone at the table has to participate), and we were met with a PLETHORA of food. The first course is an assortment of "snacks" to be shared - Crispy Cauliflower + Samosa Chaat + Charred Corn + Yellowfin Tuna Bhel + Spicy Papaya Salad + Potato Dosa. The second course is a Bells & Evans Chicken Tikka + Chicken Tikka Masaka + Kerala Lamb Curry + Saag Paneer + Dal Makhani + Turmeric Marinated Fish Curry + Seed Naan + Basmati Rice. For the final course, you get a choice between two desserts, and we went with the Sticky Date Cake w/ Ginger Ice Cream. Everything was absolutely phenomenal and the portions were perfect for sharing amongst 3 people (we even had leftovers!) We also had to order the ghost pepper cheesy naan bread because who doesn't love a good cheese pull? I also tried their new drink, the Let That Man-Go (mango-raspberry cider, pomegranate liqueur, junmal sake, mango popsicle bites), which was delicious and refreshing. The service was also great as our server was very knowledgable. Every dish that's placed on the table is also explained, so you know exactly what you're getting. This place was great! The parking was easier than I imagined and they validate, nice! The staff was super friendly. The space and the menu were both fun. The food was excellent. We had the corn, which I could eat forever. BUT it may be more economical to just order full entrees and take the extras home, just something to think about. It was a bit pricey, but filling. The gulab jamun and the sticky date cake were both mind-blowingly tasty. Not sure which is better. I lean towards the gulab jamun because it was hot and gooey, like freshly baked. Heavenly. Ghee Indian Kitchen is not the typical neighborhood Indian restaurant. The food served at Ghee has higher quality and presentational standards. Their menu has limited items that are more unique than other Indian kitchens. We ordered a few dishes that we wouldn't usually have found or ordered at other restaurants, and some came out surprisingly better than the other. For appetizers we ordered the charred corn, crispy cauliflower, and short ribs dosa. All three dishes were very unique and tasty, but the charred corn, basically their version of the Mexican street corn eloté, was hands down the star dish of the three. If you like eloté, then this is definitely a must have. The crispy cauliflower was crispy and flavorful with a spicy kick to it. The short ribs dosa is a big unique shape thin crispy crepe filled with the short ribs inside, it's more than enough for a party of 5. The main entrees, we had the beef korma, tumeric marinated local fish, chicken tikka masala. Each of the different curries was very unique. The tumeric marinated local fish and beef korma were the dishes that we wouldn't have usually ordered, both were good but not something we're familiar with. The curry for the fish was very flavorful but the fish didn't seem to have absorbed the curry flavors which was a bit bland on some bites closer to the center. The beef korma was also very flavorful and the meat was very soft and tender. We were more familiar with the chicken tikka masala dish so that was our favorite entree. It was creamy and delicious. We also had garlic naan which is the most essential dish for dipping the curry sauces. Overall, the food experience and service were great. Server was very attentive and nice. She even gave us some drink recommendations, which turned out great as well. Where Ghee Indian Kitchen may fall short was the hostess. Felt like all walk-in customers weren't getting prioritized because we didn't have a reservation on a Sunday evening around 6pm when the indoor seating was barely occupied. All walk-in customers were seated outdoors below a tent. Even by the time we left, the restaurant was more than half empty. Perhaps she was given instructions to not seat walk-ins indoors but we just didn't felt the most welcomed at the door based on her short dry responses and unenthusiastic expressions. I stopped ordering Indian food takeout because of the insane oil levels, but I was tired of hearing how good Ghee is and having FOMO. Not only was the food not overly oily, it was totally delicious. I've been wanting to try this place FOREVER!!! Now that I've gotten that out the way, I'll begin with the review. So I had jus my left the dentist about half a mile away, and it was lunch time, so I thought about this place I had thought of so many times and saw they had a lunch special on their website. I ordered 3 different lunch combos and 2 different naans. CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA MEAL ($21) This is a classic, had to get it, I got it for myself. Honestly, this was very good, nice light sauce, good tender chicken and a decent amount, could have a bit more chicken, but it's decent. There was a lil spice to it as well which was nice and it was delicious and filling without making me feel gross. Only real criticism, there isn't enough rice and could use a bit more chicken. TURMERIC MARINATED FISH CURRY ($32) This was for my mom, she LOVED the sauce. She enjoyed the fish as well but it was WAY TOO SMALL as you can clearly see in the pic, and for $32 that's just not gonna fly. She really like it though, kept the leftover sauce for weeks and it was still good and she put it over some tilapias she would make herself for dinner, so she really really LOVED that sauce. KERALA LAMB CURRY MEAL ($21) My dad is a big Lamb guy, anything with lamb he wants to order and try it, he liked it, but didn't love it. He said it was just missing a special factor and was good, but nothing amazing. I think of all the dishes this had the most protein of all, so more lamb than the tikka masala had chicken, and tumeric marinade had fish, so that was a good plus. GHOST PEPPER CHEDDAR NAAN ($11) Way too expensive, and pretty spicy but it was good, I enjoyed it. My dad LOVED this naan, he also really loves spicy things, so makes sense. With the lunch combo it's a $4 extra charge I believe, but on its own it's $11, and that's way too much. GARLIC NAAN I forgot to take a picture of this, but it was good, nothing crazy, lacking a bit of garlic flavor. And it was also weird, all the naan had seeds in them, which is the first time I've experienced that with naan. AVOCADO BHATURA ($9) I went back to try this another day because my mom loves avocados and bread, so... yea. It was alright, would rather get the naan, my mom liked it more than me, but still just different than expected, and again way too expensive. CHARRED CORN & SMOKED PANEER Got this the same day as the avocado bhatura, yo eat along with it. Again, way too expensive, literally just corn and cheese, and the cheese isn't great to be honest. It was ok. Not worth it, wouldn't get again. In the end I would say, you can tell Ghee knows what they're doing and how to cook, but the food is a bit too expensive, and all the sides are WAY overpriced. But the lunch combos would be perfect if the were 5 dollars cheaper and had a bit more rice. I would go to this restaurant again though, high quality food. read more

How can you have a CERTAIN amount of the only meat they have yet have it be the MAIN course dish. The moment they said to me that they're out of the dish I got up and left. We have tried different plates each time, though my youngest loves the Dal Makhani (a flavorful, comfort dish). My eldest likes the Beef Korma, Kerala Lamb, and Tandoori Chicken...he can't decide. Five stars because Ghee lived up to my expectations... And then some. I love Indian food and Ghee has been on my hit list for quite some time. My husband and I finally made our way to Dadeland to see what it's all about. We usually opt for the same standard dishes, but the menu at Ghee was super extensive and I knew there were some hidden gems we wouldn't order on our own. Because of that, we went with the family-style tasting menu which is $55 per person and provides a little bit of everything! Six starters, five entrees plus rice and roti, and three desserts. It was amazing! It's hard for me to pick my favorite dishes because they were all so flavorful and unique. To start, I would definitely recommend the short rib dosa, backyard pakora, and daily naan. The pani puri is also great if you're vegan (they have a variety of vegan, vegetarian and GF dishes!). Every dish has amazing sauces that create so many flavor combos I've never had before. These also rolled out super quickly. For entrees, I loved the smoked lamb neck with chickpeas and chicken tikka masala. The basmati rice of the day had black eyed peas and we also got roti which was great to eat with! The dessert came last and was such a nice ending to the meal, even though we were stuffed. My favorite was the sticky date cake topped with ginger ice cream. I also loved the rice pudding with super sweet strawberries. I wouldn't bypass this course! They have an extensive wine list, plus beer and non alcoholic offerings like housemade sodas and a seasonal lassi. My husband enjoyed a JWB Saison made just for Ghee that he loved. I had the Tonic No. 252 which was a lemongrass and citrus soda. So refreshing. They validate parking from the nearby garage, but there's also metered street parking. Seating can be found inside and out. There's an open kitchen which makes sitting inside quite fun, if you do go that route! Overall, I'm so happy we went and can't wait to go back. Lunch menu is a great time to go. They have a set menu with an option between vegetarian and meat and your meal comes in a tiffin. The tiffin looks like a little metal portable lunch box with 4 parts. I has your salad followed by the bread, rice, and meat option. Ours was about $18 but well worth it. Dinner you re able to select from the complete menu and while I feel it can be pricey for dinner. The portions are not big and you can easily spend $50 per person. I hear there is a tasting menu that includes about 16-18 dishes which is great being able to sample a majority of their items. The food is farm to table and the owners are involved in their business and it shows. A little tip both lunch and dinner will not be fast paced events so expect to spend a little time. read more

It kept getting gradually delayed. It got delayed to 9pm so that's when we called them. They said they are very busy and it will arrive. After we call them they delay it more to 9:20pm that's when we call them again and ask to cancel. It's already 8:50pm and we are very hungry. Instead of saying sorry they blame us for not being patient, and say they can't cancel. Thankfully Uber was able to cancel for us at no charge. This restaurant was being extremely rude and not allowing us to cancel even though the 1+ hour delay was their fault. I would not give any money to this rude and incompetent restaurant read more

Best Indian food I've had outside of India forsure. I've been missing an authentic meal ever since I left, more importantly craving more Southern Indian dishes you don't always find easily at other restaurants. So grateful to Ghee for supplying me with my Dosa fix a unique short rib one at that. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while still saucy, warm and meaty on the inside. My friend got the pork vindaloo delicious but fair warning SPICY, thankfully we had three orders of the out of this world cilantro chutney to cool us down. Also surprisingly one of my best bites was the crispy cauliflower wow buttery, rich and again perfect amount of spice and crunch. I Was skeptical of their Prosecco cocktail but wow was it refreshing, lavender notes with champagne was beautiful and tasty. I have been coming to Ghee for the past 3 years and it has been a wonderful experience each and every time. The owner and staff are so friendly and being there feels like being home. Niven Patel takes authentic Indian dishes and adds a creative, unexpected and innovative twist. Some of my favorite dishes include the tuna bhel, pakora, momos (seasonal item) and the Spicy pork vindaloo. I mostly enjoy the appetizers and desserts over the entree and prefer to order a few of them when I go. There is also a unique cocktail selection, all of which are refreshing and delicious. Lastly, the desserts- the sticky date cake is probably the most popular and it's amazing but my favorite dessert is definitely the ice cream sandwiches. The Parle G biscuit-chai ice cream sandwich plate is the perfect dessert that transports you back to simpler times. I imagine myself being home dipping Parle G's in chai on a Sunday afternoon trying to saturate them with just the right amount of chai without letting them break. Ah! I had high expectations but it didnt live upto the hype. The idea of the restaurant is nice and the food seems creative but its super rich and didnot agree with my indian taste buds. The appetizers were good and fresh however the rest of the meal disappointed. The avocado bhatura was probably my favorite thing. I went for the diwali pri fixe dinner, the service was a bit off, they didnt have a non alcoholic pre fixed drink option and my husband's lamb was overcooked and burnt. They did compensate by giving us extra dessert however the fact that they could serve him a burnt piece of meat was beyond me. Since he had eaten roasted lamb before, he knew and called them out. They admitted that it was the last piece and hence overcooked and burnt. We had made the reservation days before and was surprised that they didnt cook enough lamb despite selling the tables. A replacement for Pubbelly Sushi in 2017, Ghee at downtown Dadeland is Chef Niven Patel's original South Florida venture, and with the Design District location closed amidst COVID-19 precautions the upscale outdoor mall is currently thriving as the best place to find Miami's most innovative Indian cuisine. Raised by traditional Indian parents in the US south, and later honing his skills as Chef de Cuisine at Michael's Genuine, it is immediately upon entry that bright aromatics flood the nares, a quick temperature check followed by rehearsed introduction to Patel's careful blending of seasonal ingredients from his own farm into bold dishes that are familiar yet entirely unique. Distinctively Indian in design, spices lining the wall adjacent an open kitchen, it was along with two adults and a teen that eleven plates were ordered, the first round including Papadum and a Dosa filled with Shortrib immediately showcasing subtlety rarely associated with Indian Food while Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche found itself beautifully complimented by Puffed Rice, Sev and vibrant Dressing. Not a place to waste space on Tikka Masala, though the dish was pushed by service, another round of dishes began with six housemade Condiments, the Apple and Tamarind Chutneys shining despite doughy Naan (ordered separate,) while fried Cauliflower and Pakora were both surprisingly light and packed with complex flavor to match their delightful textures. At this point receiving the first of two mistaken plates, a situation remedied without delay, Grouper in Coconut Curry unfortunately found the Fish significantly overcooked despite its delectable Broth, both Corn prepared somewhat akin Elotes and toothsome Millet faring better while Sticky Date Cake was better for the Ice Cream than Cake which would have benefitted from more moisture. read more
