Wow, did they ever treat us right! We were staying down the street as part of a winter break getaway. There are exactly two bars in town. This is the one everyone goes to when the other closes, which seems like it's pretty early. The locals and bartender were really friendly and welcoming, we had an amazing time hanging out there. Come here if your wanting to stop drinking. 40 min wait for a beer in a semi crowded bar is insane and when we asked for another round we where all but ignored. 3 construction works for an hour and a half and a $40 tab. Stopped in here around 7 PM on a Thursday night for a meal with 4 friends. Took forever to get menus, service was slow. I realize it's a Thursday night, but it took almost an hour for us to get our food. We never received a refill or secondary drink service after getting our first beverage. The food was not good. The only thing that tasted good were the onion rings, but those just came out of a bag and were thrown in a fryer. Burgers were dried out, no sauce, and just poorly made. I just went here and had an unexpectedly nice time. The bartenders were were welcoming and friendly. She made a great cocktail and suggested their tacos since it was taco Tuesday. Those were delicious and just complimented the nice atmosphere inside. I didn't know what to expect and will look forward to returning. Let me just say straight up that if you're ever near Garibaldi on a Saturday night you owe it to yourself to come here for Janice and Bob's Fun Time Karaoke. Don't even think twice about it--you'll thank me later. I've been to karaoke bars in San Francisco and Portland, and this was by far the best. We wandered in here after an hour or two at the neighboring establishment, and immediately upon entry we were treated to the experience of Janice absolutely KILLING Mary J Blige's "Family Affair." Janice, of the aforementioned Fun Time Karaoke, is a white momish women in her 50s or 60s, and her partner Bob is a grey-haired man who's maybe a bit older. Since the bar wasn't very busy when we walked in and no one else wanted to sing, they immediately followed that up with a stunning duet of "Sexyback", complete with grinding. Everyone I was with was looking around at each other in complete disbelief about how awesome they were, and it only got better when they did "Pokerface." At this point the bar got busier and dudes from Woodburn started requesting shitty Seven Mary Three songs, so Janice and Bob didn't do too many more. But if you can manage to catch them at the right time it's mind-blowingly awesome. Also, could this place possibly have a better name? The answer is clearly and unequivocably no. I would really love to know the story behind it, though. read more

Hubby and I shared a giant burger and tots and each had a drink. Only one bartender as it was in the middle of the day with very few customers, but everything worked out fine. Friendly service albeit somewhat slow, but considering one employee served as bartender and cook, you can't expect a whole lot else. read more

Not good...how two bacon cheeseburgers and fries to go could be so terrible is beyond me. Super hard almost inedible naked bun, no flavor prefab meat patty, wilted, lifeless lettuce and tomatoes. One single bite of bacon alone tasted ok but all the rest was flavorless. I don't even remember the fries but know we didn't eat many. Add in the slow, disorganized, unenthusiastic service and it's a no win no matter how you dice it. No mayo, no ketchup no napkins in our to go bag. The burgers and fries were $10 each and they added in to go charges making the total $22.50. We pass thru Garibaldi on a regular basis but for sure will never stop here again for food. read more

Quirky but beautiful S shaped wood table. Entertaining watching locals play rounds of pool on only pool table and listen to DJ warm up before karaoke. Hadn't been to this establishment for years because of bad food and service, but saw decent reviews, so we thought things can change. Thought we'd give it another try. The place was cleaned up. Decor was cute, kind of industrial,yet rustic. The waitress promptly took our drink order, then entree order when she brought out our beers. Then, nothing... 45 minutes went by and she asked if we wanted the burgers brought out now or with the pizzas. There were 6 in our party(2 pizzas, 2 burgers, 1 side salad) Of course, we want all of our entrees at the same time! After 1 hour, the burgers arrived, the pizzas 10 minutes later, then the salad. No asking if we wanted more to drink, nothing. Burgers were over cooked, lettuce wilted, buns dry. Like they had been under a heat lamp. The pizzas...Frozen crust, metallic tasting sauce, greasy toppings. Again over cooked. Frozen microwave pizza from the grocery store must be better. The salad was wilted and dressing was watery blue cheese. The waitress never checked back, with only 4 other customers in the restaurant she obviously wasn't too busy. We finally went up to the bar to pay($50 for 1 medium pizza, a side salad, and 2 beers. Really?). We will not return! read more

The bartender was hilarious, and he's great! Love that guy... But DON'T ORDER PIZZA! WORST PIZZA EVER. Imagine cardboard with a funky taste, bad sauce, bad toppings. Totinos pizza from grocery store still frozen, would be better. I feel bad about writing this, because the bartender was so cool, but that's not pizza. Its a bit of a dive, but what would you expect from the Oregon coast? Its a good place for beer, pizza, and conversation with crusty old fishermen. The bartenders are super nice and I have yet to see it reach max capacity. Good place to hang out and drink. read more

Not sure how this received 4 stars. Fruit flys were fighting for airspace domination. The pizza's expiration date from the grocery was way past due. The cook was asked if she knew how to make a hamburger and she said "maybe...." Did not even get local college football games - we had to watch SEC games. Unsafe environment for women and seniors. Gang mentality environment. Came in with 4 couples all seniors to do karaoke and socialize. Moved tables to be able to chat away from music. A extremely intoxicated aggressive women attacked one of the senior females with no provocation. The senior hadn't talked or had any interaction with the attacker. The aggressor grab both her breast and molested her before returning to her bar stool. While the victim was in shock explaining to our group what had happened the aggressor began yelling "you got a problem with me repeatedly" while we tried to ignore her she was again aggressing on her victim and another female in group from behind. We told her we do have a problem, you attacked the women and molested her and we told her to back away. At no time did staff step in to cut the women off or evict her, instead the staff and people at bar were defending the intoxicated aggressor. It was obvious the attacker was a local that frequented the tavern and was friends with the bar staff. When staff was told the women had attacked and molested our guest the reply was" I didn't see anything" by the bar staff. Our group had purchased food and beverages totaling over $125 in sales as well as tipping staff generously before being attacked. Poor staffing and training. Should a assault happen in this establishment it will be ignored and denied. This incident is considered a sexual assault. read more

Was in town for Garibaldi days with a group of friends... I spent part of my grade school and high school years in the area, so knowing it's been there for years and years, the Ghost Hole seemed a good spot to hang. Well, the patio is great. But that's about as good as it gets. The food is average at best, nothing special. And the bar staff is probably the worst, most miserable bunch of girls I've ever witnessed in the service industry. There were 3 or 4 people behind the bar and I was intentionally ignored for a good 5+ minutes-EVERY time I went to order drinks. And I would be the only one waiting for service!?! But some local dude would come stand next to me and get immediate service. WTH??!They would very obviously keep from making eye contact so as to not have to serve me. They all were extremely unfriendly and acted like it was such a chore to get you a beverage. Funny thing, I'm usually a great tipper-if you're worth it-so they only hurt themselves. Unfortunately this worthless staff cannot receive less than 1 star. So, sorry to say I will never go back. Nor will I recommend it to any I know - unless you like to be ignored and treated like a nuisance. Good old Garibaldi: you may hate the city folk, but you'd be a Ghost Town if it weren't for us. read more
