Sat in the restaurant side, had the nice ambiance of a silent restaurant, oh wait, all we could hear was the cooks blaring music and yelling obnoxiously back and forth to each other. The food quality here is always excellent and it's consistent. The turkey, prime rib, potato salad, all excellent. The facility could use some sprucing up especially the carpet which honestly is gross. I know it's hard for businesses on the coast which is why I still gave five stars but I think if the facility was cleaned up a bit it would help business. read more

Such a delightful place. Beautiful decor, friendly service and delcious down home food. They have a Turkey Dinner plate on the menu for those times you need a little Thanksgiving in January, April, etc. It hit the spot and the chocolate cake was the perfect ending. Happened upon this place during what I imagine is the busiest weekend of the year. Sat in the bar. Only one waitress and she was busy! She did a decent job of keeping our drinks filled. Food on the other hand took over an hour. I get it, busy restaurants can get backed up, but when we wait that long for food, I want it correct. I ordered eggs Benedict. Ham was super thick, but one egg was literally hard boiled and the other was barely runny. The hollandaise sauce was bizarre. Almost tasted like cheese sauce. Hubs got biscuits and gravy. They are cut up frozen out of the bag potatoes Service is slow because only one waitress for both bar and restaurant. We came in on a Saturday morning, and it was SUPER busy. The server was harried and not real friendly. We joked that we were scared to ask for anything. I think she said 5 words to us and was very gruff. It took 40 minutes to be seated and another 20 to get food. So, plan on having lots of time on your hands if you come here when it is busy. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular or real memorable but nothing wrong with it either. Prices were good for the portion sizes. I get the feeling, and I could be wrong, that they like the money from the tourists coming in but probably don't love being so busy like they were this morning. I dunno. There however is a new cook who's is very unprofessional he was snapping at the waitress and the young child working in the back with him. I ordered the incredible tasting and fluffy 3 egg Denver omelet that was loaded with fresh quality ingredients including Tillamook Cheddar cheese of course since that cheese factory is just down Highway 101 from here. I enjoyed smiling & friendly service that makes you want to return here every morning. After seeing the deserts, Parkside Restaurant looks like a great place to gain 10 pounds! We have eaten at the Parkside twice. Our breakfast experience was dismal, The server was alone with no help except the cook , This was a Saturday morning approx. 9am. The prices were high, but within all the other Restaurants that we have visited. The order arrived and the hashbrowns were smashed flat so crisp and greased that they could not be eaten. Large black flacks were in them. The bacon was so over cooked that it could barely be chewed. The eggs were fine but cold. I let the server know about the hash browns and her reply was we have changed our supplier, and sorry. So we both left hungry and very unsatisfied with our meal. The Previous evening we were patrons in the bar and had wonderful service. Just everything had changed from my / our previous trips. The bar has poker machines and completely changed all tables were hard surface and very dark. So our last night Saturday we decided to try the dinner menu. We landed in the bar so we could watch the Duck Game and our Bartender wasn't to busy. She had taken a couple of folks playing poker machines and decided to play herself between visits out back, Even the cook played the poker machines. I also notice a red headed female coming in and out several times to talk to the bartender and cook she even went to the back. Tonight, a drunk patron (FRANK) buying drinks for everyone found out his father died so when my partner tried to console him, he chose to grab her by the throat and slam her to the ground before running off. I was in the bathroom, so, naturally, when I discovered the news, I left the bar and filed a police report. I had asked if the bar manager if She had called the police. She assured me that she did. When I spoke to the deputy, I found out that I was the ONLY person who had reported the assault (She lied to me)! We will never attend this establishment again. Be warned: the bar staff is not empowered enough (conflict of interest) to call the police when fellow patrons are committing violence against women. My female partner, who was the person assaulted, is beyond tramautized and will be pressing charges. As an Oregonian, and also a female, I am disgusted by how this situation was NOT handled in accordance with Oregon State law, not to mention the lying to my face about contacting the authorities. I pray that the victimizer is put behind bars, which is what He deserves for assaulting an innocent woman. I pray that the establishment hires a woman that understands that standing up for other women who have been assualted is Her duty as a bar manager under Oregon State Law, and if she does not act is exactly the reason why violence against women perpetuates in our society. My husband and I made a crabbing day trip out to Garibaldi and stopped by here for lunch. The staff does take their time to make their way to you but it's a small town, so you get the vibes. Lol. However they're so Friendly and kind and they pay attention, so it's not all that bad. We got the mushroom burger and blue cheese burger -- delicious!! And so filling. This is turning into a go-to breakfast place when staying in this part of the coast. Not many restaurants managed to survive the 2020 shutdowns but this one has definitely managed and our group was glad to have a little place to dine in. They were awesome at accommodating our slightly larger group for breakfast and have a very clean setup throughout the restaurant. A few of us ordered juice and coffee with our breakfast. As far as food goes, we had no complaints about our food. The portions were plenty and between all of us we had the opportunity to sample the chicken fried steak, eggs Benedict, pancakes and french toast. I came to this place with my daughter for pancakes and hot chocolate and we were satisfied to say the least. The woman who served us was very cheerful and attentive. Our food was made up a reasonable amount of time and it was good. I have also come in here to get fish and chips to go, I wasn't disappointed. It took forever to place our order and then, I ordered a meatloaf dinner which is supposed to come work soup or salad (I ordered a salad), and also garlic bread. They brought my meatloaf and asked if I needed anything else. I said "wasnt I supposed to get a salad?" She said, oh yes. So she comes back with a salad, but now I've got to eat my meal before it gets cold. It wasn't till I was ready to leave that I realized I was supposed to get the bread as well.
