The star of the show was the corn dip, that has a much cooler name than that. It was so good, as was my $13 lemon drop on happy hour special which runs from 3-6 pm. The steak burrito didn't have much steak in it at all so it was more like eating a lettuce and cheese burrito and then every few bites you'd get a piece of steak. The salsas were really good, but the guacamole was just mid. The entire table was under-impressed considering how well reviewed this place is.
First time at Ghost Ranch today, it was pretty good! Nice casual Southwest style restaurant with beautiful decor. Parking was extremely easy, they have a decent sized lot with spots on 2 sides of the building. They do not take reservations, but the wait was reasonable during dinner for a larger party. Drinks are good, they have a nice selection of cocktails and wine. I ordered the Arnold Palmer and it was fresh but could have been a bit more flavorful (was a bit too light). Food is good! Loved the cornbread- it was a nice balance of sweet and spicy. May be too spicy for some. Loved the corn bits inside and the pepper jam(?) on top. Ordered the Chicken Poblano Pasta sub Steak and it was good, worth the price. Flavorful and unique with the cream sauce, corn, cilantro, and onion. Service was also great. We were well cared for. I do feel there are so many other good Southwestern style restaurants in the Tempe/AZ area, but this is also good and I would come back when I'm back in town.
4/24/26 First visit, not my last! Ghost Ranch has been bookmarked for close to a year. Given I spent the first have of the day Training at Chandler PD event w/o eating my Hangry was undeniable. Parking 3/5 Arrived ~12:30 to a completely full parking lot. The Resturant shares parking with numerous businesses and another popular eatery Postino's. We spent 10-15 minutes circling like a commercial airliner waiting for the tower to direct our decent. We finally parked at Postino's and walked to the Ranch. Atmosphere 5/5 What was in-store for atmosphere was signaled by their Rooftop Mascot poised and ready-to-gore. This is the perfect "Branding" and "I am here" statement. Inside your eyes are taken numerous directions with the use of colors, architectural and interior design features including unique ceilings, southwestern artwork and decor. Clean, inviting, and simple with intention. Service 5/5 We were greeted by a welcoming Hostess who asked us for our seating preference and to our surprise immediately seated us. Our Server today was Rylee S. She greeted us promptly inquired if it was a Fisrt visit which it was. Rylee filled us in on all their extensive Beverage offerings, specials, and customer favorites. She took our Tea orders and gave us time to look over their Bruch menu. I was curious about a number of items that Rylee explained well. Let the sampling begin! Food 5/5++ The menu suggests influences of New Mexico style cooking. We ordered as starters Queso Fondido 5/5+ Amazing blend of ingredients that worked well together, the chorizo added a perfect standout reminder every few bites. This could be a lite bite or starter shared. Street style Esquites 5/5 Wonderful blend of cheeses skillet cooked on top of their corn kernels and grilled vegetables. This was a pleasant surprise, it too had some unique flavors going on with a hint of sweetness. Side of Corn tortillas 5/5 They nailed their Tortillas recipe. Perfect yellow corn flavor and thickness for use with their Queso. These are tie for to my favorite Resturant Corn Tortillas. Entrees Pork Enchiladas. 10/5 Chimayo chile braised pork Although they were billed as NM style red sauce they weren't and that was ok because the flavor of their Red sauce is wonderful and so much so, these I will return for! Red Chile breakfast burrito w/extra Ghost seasoning. 5/5 Incredibly huge burrito stuffed with rice, charro beans, scrambled eggs, Oaxaca cheese, cream, pico de gallo. Most of this ginormous burrito came home for leftovers. Pro-tip The burrito tasted even more delicious for lunch day two. Service by Rylee was gracious, attentive never having to ask for anything. We love Ghost Ranch andit gives such a fun New Mexico vibe. They have a great happy hour during the week, and the food is always delicious. The bartenders are wonderful and super helpful with recommendations, which we always appreciate. Our go-to drink is the Pretty Frosé and it's a must! Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's one of our favorite spots we keep coming back to.
We've been to Ghost Ranch several times now, but this was our first time for brunch -- and it absolutely delivered. Everything we ordered was as strong as any of the dinner entrees we've had here. We had the Ghost Ranch Benedict, pozole, and shared the green tomatillo breakfast burrito, along with sides of rice & beans, potatoes with chimi aioli and queso fresco, plus chips with guacamole and salsa. The burrito was massive (definitely shareable) and perfectly done with chicken, rice, eggs, cheese, and pico. The Benedict stood out with its cornbread base, chorizo, avocado, poached eggs, and hollandaise -- all balanced and executed beautifully. Service was polished and professional throughout. Ghost Ranch continues to impress -- now firmly a go-to for both dinner and brunch.
The ambiance and service is very good. I ordered the Fuego margarita, which only suffered from being too small lol. We also got the chips, salsa and guacamole, which was delicious: fresh, well seasoned. For entrees we had the steak burrito, the roasted corn salad with chicken added, and the southwest bowl with chicken. The only complaint was the texture of the tortilla shells; they were very thick and rather chewy. I found the bowl underseasoned. The salad, however, was absolutely fabulous. Overall this is a nice place, but we won't rush to return...eapecially with the terrible parking.
Ghost Ranch has good food and generous portions, so I definitely left full. The margarita was a bit disappointing though, as it was pretty small and seemed to be mostly ice. The biggest challenge for a place like this is that AZ has so many great mexican restaurants. While I enjoyed my meal, it didn't stand out compared to some of the other mexican options around the valley. Still, the food was good and I'd be willing to give it another try.
Disappointed with the chicken enchiladas we ordered. It was 3 medium sized crunchy chicken taquitos with green sauce over it. The Spanish rice and beans were good. Price was $19.46 which was not worth it based on the quantity and quality. Staff were nice, service was quick, and ambiance was spacious.
Ghost Ranch was pretty good! We came here with a group of 6 so we got to try a little bit of everything. We ordered both the salads on the menu - roasted corn salad and citrus salad. I'm not sure which one I liked better, but I did enjoy the goat cheese on the citrus one. For the entrees, I ordered the grilled rainbow trout which was cooked so well. The lemon beurre blanc and arugula added freshness to this dish. My husband had the pork chop which was quite tender, and the goat cheese grits were delish (although it was a bit too salty for me). I tried my friends' sampler platter which came with skirt steak and enchiladas. The skirt steak was so tender and enchiladas are not typically my first choice but I was impressed. The southwest chicken pasta was very generous, it came with a quarter leg of chicken and chicken wing flats. The creamy chipotle sauce was flavorful and delicious. For dessert, we ordered all 3 since we wanted to try them all. The coconut tres leches was the winner. The churro and ice cream came second, and the chocoflan was my least favorite. The chocoflan was much more dense and sweeter than the others. Overall, the portions were very generous. Everyone enjoyed the food too. If you're looking for southwestern cuisine, this is the place to go!
Pro-tip: A must try restaurant! Highlights: Honestly it's been a long time since I've been thoroughly impressed at a new restaurant! I can't believe this place has been on my list for so long and it's taking me years to come here, but I'm glad I finally did. The food tastes delicious, the portions are very generous and the price is justified. The southwest chicken pasta literally comes with half of a chicken. From the pork chop, the salads, the Ranchos papas, the cornbread, the tres leches dessert - it was alllll good. I love the variety - definitely something for everyone. The service is really good and they were really understanding when we accidentally stayed past their closing time. Lowlights: The chocoflan really wasn't for me. Not a huge deal, but I felt like part of the restaurant was a little drafty so it was colder than I was expecting and wish I brought a jacket.
What an awesome find! I feel like I am generally not blown away by southwestern food. Not that I don't like it, but I always gravitate towards comfort foods rather than elevated. I'm glad Ghost Ranch changed my perspective! All their dishes were absolutely stellar. The salads (yes we got 2) were fresh, and full of flavor with their variety of ingredients. The pork chop cook was spot on, and combined with the creamy polenta and sauce it made the perfect bite. We went a little overboard with dessert, as you can see. All were good but the tres leches cake was by far the best! The main star of the meal, though, was the cornbread. I am already a slut for cornbread but this was outstanding even amongst cornbreads. Fluffy, buttery, and a great layer of complexity with their jalapeño jam. If they had presented a baking sheet full of this cornbread I probably could've finished it. Don't sleep on Ghost Ranch. Came here on a taco Tuesday and had a great experience! We got the eggrolls, elote dip and 3 tacos. The corn tortillas are probably some of the best I've had but my overall favorite was the elote dip! I can't remember our servers name but she was very kind and attentive, the restaurant itself is super dope and a great vibe! Will definitely be coming back
The food was actually pretty good. The service was top tier. Our server was Riley and she was so friendly and attentive. Couldn't have asked for a better server. They only serve brunch on the weekends starting at 10a. We got there at 10a and were the only ones until around 11a dining in. Very good food and drinks. The potato tacos were good, but you need to season them with some salt. Next time I'll get no tomatoes, I feel like it waters down the potato. The chips and salsa were very flavorful. The cornbread was delish! Nice atmosphere, clean and they constantly are straightening up. The manager (assuming) she even went around and was asking tables if they're doing good. Pleasant experience when you don't get that much these days. Needless to say, we will be back and it's things like this that makes all the difference. read more

Kim H and I organized a UYE HH here tonight, and it worked out nicely. I came in a bit earlier to get us a table for 8 people as this place does not take reservations. Waitress gave me a few options to choose from, and she did offer up the prime real estate 10 top that was a high table right in the middle of the restaurant with good views. I think that was a really nice spot, so took that one for us. Everyone started to trickle in, and we ended up having a party of 10, which was wonderful. HH is from 3-6pm and a bit limited in their offerings but would say the ambiance is really nice and worth it to come here for a few drinks, munch on appetizers and have some fun with good company. The chips, salsa, and guacamole were good, but nothing earth shattering. I had the fuego margarita, and that was good! I've really slowed down on drinking and haven't had much alcohol in months, but tonight, because of friends, I was in a celebratory mood. I had a bite of the pozole, and that was tasty! Waitress was nice about separate checks for everyone, but was pretty strict that we couldn't move around in our chairs as each seat assigned to a number. I met a bunch of new and familiar Yelpers for Happy Hour at Ghost Ranch. Nice decor inside. I ordered the Southwest Eggrolls; a combination of grilled chicken, onion, black beans, cheese, roasted corn & Serrano avocado ranch. The rolls were especially good with the avocado blend on it. We are visiting Arizona and saw Ghost Ranch on Yelp and thought we would give Taco Tuesday a try. OMG! The Carne Asada tacos were amazing. So tender and flavorful. The quality and amount of food was well worth the price. Definitely coming back before we leave. Our server, Liz was great! And the margaritas were delicious. I'll be back! Loved the ambience walking in. Came at 3pm on a Saturday. Wasn't busy. Service was excellent. Super quick and attentive. Ordered the chips, salsa, and guacamole. All were really good, although maybe just a little more salt on the chips (or maybe that's just me ). I was going to try the margarita flight, but since it was happy hour I opted for the HH Fuego Margarita instead. Yum! Just enough heat. I also had the GR Margarita with a Tahin rim and it was also delicious. I will be back for that flight tho! We ordered the Plato Vegano and Chile Relleno. Met a group for happy hour and had a good time with good food. I started with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc (not on happy hour) and ordered the southwest egg rolls. The Sauvignon blanc was ok, but it wasn't from NZ. The egg rolls were good but I was a little torn. The filling just wasn't very flavorful. It was good, but it was the avocado sauce and spices on the outside that really gave it some zip. The filling just needs some more flavor in my opinion. I also tried a house maragrita and it was tasty. I didn't have the fortitude to try one of the spicy margs. But I was told it was good too. Overall it was a good happy hour! read more

First time here and will be coming back! Small/ cozy feeling restaurant but can definitely accommodate a large party. I'd call ahead though to make sure you can secure a spot on the day you visit. They have a bar with 2 TVs. Was able to catch the ASU game while I was there! Food was very good and I highly recommend you try the Rancho Papas. The chipotle aioli they use is delicious You can't go wrong with the cheese crisp and the green chile burger is a 10/10. Margaritas were excellent and I enjoyed the tequila old fashion the most. Service was excellent. Wait staff were nice. Got the street style esquites, sampler, and chocoflan. Esquites are like queso fundido with corn instead of chorizo. Very tasty but could do with a little less cheese and grease. The sampler was perfect, skirt steak was just the right amount of salt and seasoning and super tender. Great experience here on Sunday afternoon! My friend and I came in here for brunch. I ordered the green tomatillo breakfast burrito which came with chicken, beans, scrambled eggs, rice, crema, pico and oaxacan cheese -- it was massive and absolutely delicious! Lots of great flavors that harmonized so well. My friend ordered the tres leches French toast. Unfortunately it was too sweet for her. I'd be back for sure. We decided to come for happy hour.i love the southwestern vibe of the place. You can see your food getting made, open kitchen concept. All the plus signs are the appetizers that are apart of happy hour and all drinks are $3 off. The cornbread was really flavorful and we loved the cheese. The restaurant got busy around 6:30 on Tuesday but they location is perfectly hidden in south Tempe next to postinos. Kate was our server and checked on her frequently. First visit yesterday...arrived early enough for HH so my tasty Ghost Ranch margarita was $3 off. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. I chose the pork taco platter. This comes with 4 corn tortillas, pile of rice & beans, the marinated pork, guacamole some cabbage and Pico. It's a significant meal. My friend got the seasonal veggie Enchiladas. Went here for a second time for a friend's birthday around 3pm on a Saturday. It was really busy but we were seated quickly. Our server, Torrance, was so sweet. You could tell there were probably some issues in the kitchen or that they were short staffed because our food and drinks took a while to come out and though we ordered green chile cornbread, it never came. Even with that, the server consistently checked on us and we got a free chips & salsa platter for the table as an apology. I ordered the citrus salad with steak, my friend got a steak taco plate, and my other friend got the SW chicken pasta. We also order the queso fundido. For drinks we got the ghost ranch margarita, lavender lemonade, prickly pear froze margarita, blackberry mojito, and one of the mocktails. Everything was delicious! We had NO COMPLAINTS. The food, although delayed, came out hot and was perfectly seasoned. The drinks were amazing. The tortillas that came with the queso fundido and taco plate are to die for! We had a nice time just chatting and eating. They were out of fried ice cream for my friend's birthday dessert so subbed it with the coconut tres leches cake which was good but needed a touch more milk to be a true tres leches. Ghost Ranch is one of my family's favorite restaurants, especially when hosting out-of-town guests. We've visited for brunch, happy hour, and dinner. Each visit has been consistently wonderful, even though the restaurant tends to be busy with potential long wait times. The space is modern and inviting, perfectly matching the Southwestern-inspired decor and menu. The service is on point. We've sampled various dishes and drinks, all of which have been delicious. Among our favorites are the fuego margarita ($10), street style esquites ($11), and grilled rainbow trout ($32). We can't start our meal without street style esquites which features roasted corn, Oaxaca cheese, Mexican crema, chimayo aioli, cilantro, and tajin. So creamy and tasty. The fuego margarita is a well-balanced spicy treat. Hubs and I usually split the rainbow trout, which is served with butter-braised leeks, diced fingerling potatoes, huitlacoche, capers, crispy parsley, and lemon beurre blanc. It's a great a mix of flavors and textures and more than enough for us to share, especially when we add a side. Overall, we highly recommend Ghost Ranch for its fantastic food, drinks, and dining experience. read more

One of the best restaurants we have tried! We were treated right away, and sat down. The restaurant has a nice open floor plan with views of the kitchen and bar, but big windows that give it a spacious vibe with big enough tables that you don't feel squeezed in. Our server was good and with the help from his coworkers provided a great experience. Now the food... man the food was to die for. The queso fundido was nice and cheesy and gooey, with thick homemade corn tortillas made to hold the cheese from the skillet, one of the best I've ever had. My sampler plate was delicious! The enchiladas were crispy which was a first to me, almost like flour as with sauce on them, the chile relleno was good but the steak on the sampler ran away with the price! The steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My girlfriend has the steak and eggs and her steak was just as perfectly cooked and full of flavor. They were out of the corn cakes that it normally comes with so she substituted the fingerling potatoes and it was a great choice, they were so good. We opted to get dessert since I am a tres leches connoisseur and couldn't pass up the horchata whipped cream, which I'd say I'm an horchata connoisseur as well. Words cannot describe how delicious this was. This dessert alone would make me wanna come back! It was perfectly sweet and not overwhelming. The Horchata whipped cream was a great addition to the Tres Leches cake. The drinks were all amazing and they have a great happy hour. Went on a Friday night for dinner, 25-30 minute wait. Hostess was super kind and helped us get a table that could accommodate space for a walker. Beautiful interior and plenty of seating. Super cool open concept for the kitchen. Mitch our waiter was super patient and professional and gave some suggestions for food and drink First we started off with drinks, and appetizers ~~~ chips, salsa and guac, the queso fundido and the green chili corn bread. First and foremost, the staff here is always so nice and the establishment is always very clean. Fiona was incredible and had a smile on her face the whole time she waited our table. When our food came out, Alex H. recognized us from the last time we were here, about two weeks ago. Personally, I've never been a fan of poached eggs or hollandaise sauce, but the Ghost Ranch Benedict was easily hands down the best eggs Benedict I've had anywhere; not just Arizona, but across the country. The arugula salad in the middle was a great place to start full of flavor, depth and color. Presentation of the whole dish is very eye appealing. Great place for Southwest cuisine. Their HH is available daily and has a nice selection of food and drinks. I love their pozole. It's very flavorful and filling. One of my favorites to order here. I think you should be ok to wear a t-shirt and sweatpants. I wore jeans and a t-shirt with no issue. It's a pretty casual restaurant with great food.

They do have a VIP mailing list that has various offers and specials included with signing up. They have the cards to sign up at the hostess desk.

Sadly no, you have to go to the sister restaurant next door, Tempe Public Market Cafe

Yes, of course. The menu that was being used was still be structured prior to official opening. It was important not to slant peoples selection with pricing.
