Real convenient to the Marriott. The service was 5 star, Noelle was excellent. She provided fast, friendly and professional service. Real extensive drink menu. I went with the spicy margarita. It was great with a nice amount of spice. Great balance of the heat and sweet. Appetizers were the roasted cauliflower and southwest spring rolls. The cauliflower was pretty good, it really could have used more roasting vs steaming. It felt steamed and char/crunch really would have been good. Also think. a little olive oil and parmesan would have been perfect. The southwest spring rolls were really good. Noelle recommended the short rib. She was on, the short rib was really good and the goat cheese style risotto was really good as a base. The service was great throughout, Noelle was amazing and the other servers had her back as they cleaned the tables and made sure they took care of anything else we needed. First of all, kudos to our waitress Briane! She was absolutely amazing with my party of 15 to celebrate my nieces 22nd birthday. I'm literally sitting in the parking lot writing this review. This was our first time here and from the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted and Briane got our table ready for us. This is a beautiful place to come chill out and have some delicious food and drinks. Now onto the food that was ordered... Mostly everyone ordered the Chicken & Waffles- some plain, some with the hot honey and let me tell you I tasted a piece of the waffle, and it was pretty tasty and fluffy. My daughter and I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs which was very well seasoned and very good and my sister ordered the Parlay Veggie Omelet! Some of the drinks ordered were the Charcuterie House Bloody Mary, Blackberry Lime Margarita, Lei'd in the Desert and a Parlay Poloma, all of which were really good and the presentation was outstanding! Went here with my mom for dinner on a Monday night. The restaurant was fairly busy, with a mix of small and medium-sized parties, which made it feel lively for a weekday. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak added and my mom had the fish and chips. The fish had a perfectly crunchy exterior with a tender, flaky inside. My salad was fresh, though the steak was a bit chewier than I expected. Service started off a bit slow. We waited a few minutes to be acknowledged after walking in, despite a few employees passing by, and then another short wait before being seated. I asked for filtered water, and it took over 10 minutes (and a reminder) before it arrived. The manager later mentioned they were understaffed that evening, which explained the empty tables and longer wait times for food. That said, our waitress was friendly, poised, and attentive once she got to us. She handled everything professionally and was quick to check us out when we were ready to leave. She also kindly comped the filtered water due to the delay, which we appreciated. At least once a month, we get together with our family and pick a new spot to have brunch. This time, we chose the Parlay Kitchen in Chandler. As soon as we walked in, I fell in love with the decor. It looked really nice and had a pretty chill vibe. They even have two different bar areas, which I thought was kind of cool. Their brunch menu had tons of different items to choose from. We ended up getting the French toast and the biscuits and gravy. Both were really good! I was excited that they had an espresso martini because I'm always on the search for the best one! I'm happy to report that this one was pretty tasty! The only thing that was a bit of a bummer is that it was pretty loud inside, so with our party being 6 people, it was difficult to hear each other. My friends and I went here for my birthday dinner, and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. We were in a semi private area closer to the patio. The lighting was dimmed, but bright enough to where we could see faces, but not blinding us, lol, which is perfect. The waiting staff was very attentive. Returning frequently to refresh waters and take orders for beverages, nonalcoholic, as well as alcoholic. The food was hot and fresh and the flavors were exquisite. My friends and I all raved about the flavors of the food. I specifically had the steak Gorgonzola, which was out of this world! Slight bit of sweet steak, exceedingly tender. Noodles cooked perfectly with a little flex of spice at the end with the sauce. As I am allergic to oranges, I was very pleased that they offer the flowered old-fashioned as an alternative to the original old-fashioned because I love the mix of an old-fashioned. All in all it was a wonderful birthday dinner. But be warned, if you're looking for a a place that offers elegance and good vibes. This is it. But it can be pricey both on drinks as well as food. Service was excellent. Very attentive wait staff. Unfortunately, the food fell very short. All four dishes we received were very bland. The Caesar Salad had a pasty imitation dressing and wasn't tossed. The French dip was dry and jerky cut. The French onion was bland and watery. The cheese dip and pretzel was decent, but even the dip could be reworked for flavor. Hopefully it was just an off day. Overall, there is a lot of potential with the ambience and layout, but to be considered a worthwhile place to go to for food - there is a ton of work to do. Could see our drinks.. however no server That happened several times. Two of the couples ordered calamari. That came quicker than our drinks. I felt sorry for the server. They have HH at 3. You would think they would have more than 1 server. Very disappointed. Plus the horse race was on. We ordered calamari which was good.. however a small container of sauce for the amount. We went here to see if it could be used for our daughter's upcoming wedding rehearsal dinner. The venue is open and airy but loud. The staff were quick to greet and seat us. The drink orders were taken and served fast. It was dark enough to make reading the menus difficult. After that...nothing was right with the service. It took over 15 minutes to get our orders taken. The table next to us was seated at that time. They received their food 15 minutes before we did! Total time from arrival to food service was 55 minutes. As for the food, it was overall pretty good. The green beans were over-cooked. My Apple Bourbon Pork Chops and pumpkin puree were nicely done and seasoned just right. The rest of the group said that the food was decent. Nothing bad, just not quite up to 5 stars. If it wasn't for the service, it might have made the cut, but after we left, the vote was 100% against this place for our future wedding plans. read more

Our group of 10 was looking for a late night eat after a high school playoff game and came across Parlay for their full kitchen till 11:45 pm (we also had just missed the live music which other seem to have enjoyed). The food selection was one page of the menu which I like since they seem to single out their specialties. I also like when I am torn between items and The Parlay Steak Burger and The Steak Salad (the name escapes me) were the choices. I went with the burger on recommendation and seemed like the right choice! The Parlay steak burger is a meat infused with ground chuck and steak served with a fried egg, choice of cheese, and an onion bacon jam that was delicious! Around the table, many got appetizers where some were better than others. Wings were good but not noteworthy. The spinach dip and egg rolls was met with the same response. While good not noteworthy. The big wins were the bruschetta that was best I'd ever had and the French onion soup seemed like it was a win. The ambience was really low key with a large dining area and large bar serving up local beers and specialty house cocktails that were raved about at the table. There is a private room with a bar that is available for reservations and restrooms were clean and large. At the End of the Day the Parlay Kitchen and Cocktails scratched an itch at a time when we needed a late night fix and while I wouldn't make the drive from the west side I'd definitely stop if I found myself on that side of town. read more

I made reservations for two on a Wednesday night, and I'm glad I did--when we arrived, the restaurant was packed, with a line of people waiting to be seated. We were taken right in and seated near the bar by the back patio. The ambiance was vibrant, energetic, and fun. Our server was Leo, who was also bartending and clearly overwhelmed. He tried to offer us an appetizer while we waited, but unfortunately, he never brought it. Our entrées didn't arrive until about 60 minutes after we ordered, and we were definitely headed into "hangry" territory. Just as we were about to give up and leave, the food finally came out--hot, fresh, and very tasty. I ordered the wings and my friend had the blackened-white fish, both of which were delicious. When Leo checked in, we let him know that while we enjoyed the food, the long delay was disappointing. He explained that several large parties had backed up the kitchen; something we would've appreciated knowing from the start of the long night. If it weren't for the long wait, the forgotten appetizer, and the overcrowded dining room, this review would have been much higher. POV- * Definitely make a reservation. * The parking lot is small--if it's busy, expect to park in the overflow lot across the street. I play on a hockey team that comes to Phoenix with our families to play in a Memorial Day weekend tournament for 15 years - it's a fun, lively group of around 40 to 50 people. We do team dinners every year and this year was at the Parlay in Chandler. To sum up - AMAZING. First off, when I was looking for places they were one of the few that made the cut just for their menus and reviews so I called and spoke to the GM (Seth). Then they were the only ones who would/could offer their full menus (not pre-set or buffet) and confidently said they can handle our group in the kitchen and service, and even have a private space with our own small outside patio. Ultimately, I'm thinking "hopefully this works out", and it did! Seth was there to greet us. The space was perfect, with TVs for us to watch the games and the outside area if the kids wanted to run around. Our two servers (Ellen and Grace) were outstanding and so accommodating and considerate (Grace quickly helped us move some tables and chairs around); the food (with a kids menu too) was excellent, and the vibe was perfect for us. My friend has been raving about this place for months, and when we wanted to do brunch we knew just where to go when I saw they had crème brûlée French toast! Upon entering, I can see why people rave about this location as it is both beautiful and spacious. They were fairly calm for brunch on a Sunday before noon, and think it may be more of a lunch or dinner destination. Though, I greatly appreciated the calm as Sunday brunch can be hectic at other places. All of the staff were extremely friendly, and very attentive to refills. Loved the added touch of asking if I wanted salt or tajin on the rim of the Bloody Mary. When I said surprise me, they did both - loved it! The French Toast was the star of the meal for us, and I definitely see returning soon! I finally made it in person for dinner. This place is pretty cool. The ambiance is nice. The vibe is good. Our table ordered southwest eggrolls and spinach dip. Both were fantastic! I ordered steak gorgonzola for dinner as that was the dish of the three our server said she liked best. I however was not a fan. It was pasta with a chipotle cream sauce, steak bites, diced tomatoes, gorgonzola and balsamic glaze drizzle. In my opinion the sauce was too spicy. On Yelp it showed closing at 11:00 PM, and we arrived at 10:00 PM as a group of 7. The girl at the front was extremely rude and told us we had only 10 minutes to place our order because they were closing soon. To make matters worse, only 4 of us received our food while the other 3 sat waiting for almost an hour. The rest of the group had to wait without eating together. The food was packed for yogi. When we complained, the staff simply told us that we "should be understanding" instead of apologizing or trying to fix the situation. Pathetic service, poor attitude, and terrible customer handling. We've brought lots of friends in but never reviewed so it's well past time to do so! We're always greeted with friendly smiling faces every time we come in and have never needed to make a reservation, yet but expect that will change one day soon! We've sat inside, outside and near the main bar and all of the seats have been great! They have a daily happy hour 3-6 pm which is quite nice! The open seating style can get a little loud depending on the day (event/game) but it has never been an issue for us in the past as most of the times there are open tables somewhere in the restaurant. The separate bar area would probably be nice too but I've not spent any time in that area. They have a great menu selection with lots of yummy dishes! We've liked everything we've ordered so far. Even the drink menu has a nice selection for those that do and don't want to imbibe. We brought a few friends with us for their first ever visit to The Parlay for a few drinks and a bite. Wine, beer, cocktails (Mary Poppins) plus Spinach Artichoke Dip to start plus dinner (Triple Decker Club, Mushroom Balsamic Risotto w Chicken and French Dip) were just what we needed for the night. All of the staff are always efficient, friendly, professional and courteous. There's plenty of parking just outside the entrance which is so nice and convenient for all. when my mom and I got there, the hostess only left one menu on the table and didn't even mention that she was only giving us one. I flag someone else working and was like hey can we get a second menu. She looks at us confused and rudely says "oh we're short on menus the hostess should have told you" well she hadn't. So then we order apps- the beer cheese was gloopy, gritty and just off. The waitress asks how we're liking it I told her the truth and she was like okay I'll get the manager. The manger is super friendly and is like I'll go fix it. In the mean time our burger that we're splitting and drink comes. Drink was good. It was the aviator. The burger was bland and not seasoned. We had let the waitress know we were splitting but weren't given a second plate or a knife to cut it. Manager did take off the beer cheese pretzel app and let us know that it was in-fact old and just sitting out and that he rectified it for future guests. Other tables were getting attentive great service but they were all in business casual vs us in Jeans so I can't help but think that's why the waitress and hostess weren't great to us but not sure. This restaurant has been on my list for a few months, so we made a reservation. When we arrived, there really wasn't a need for reservation as it was pretty empty. That changed as the evening went on and when we left, it had gotten quite full. There's a very open feel to the dining room, and there are two bars - - one separate room with a bar, and a bar on one half of the main dining room. There was a musician playing in the corner. We had a great server who was very attentive. I wasn't very hungry, so I chose something that looked kind of interesting on the appetizer section of the menu, the fried avocado. It's two halves of an avocado, with the pit removed and replaced with shredded pork and cheese, then battered and fried. Yes, it's as good as it sounds! And quite large, as I ended up bringing some of it home. It's served with fantastic creamed corn topped with a ton of bacon. Absolutely delicious! My son had a club sandwich, and it was huge with a ton of turkey and ham. It was served with fries, and both were very, very good. HH with coworkers and I'm always impressed with the atmosphere, cocktails, and some of the food items. I have this place in my rotation but usually avoid Fridays (coworkers... haha). This last time it was packed on Friday, but we had a section carved out so the only challenge was parking for me. I nibbled on a few pieces of Brushetta that were ordered and they had good flavor. For me I made sure to get one of my favorite drinks here, the Passion Fruit Mai Thai. With drink discounts, it's hard to stop at one so I also had the Blackberry Lime Margarita... Both hit with just the right balance and kick so no complaints. From the menu, I realized I wanted something different and the stand-out item was the Deep Fried Avocado and it didn't disappoint!!!
