The food tasted awesome. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because their personal pizza. I wish they filled it more. The crust is great, but there is too much of it. Stopped in 50 minutes before closing time on a Monday night because I was in town for work. Not usually a great start for a meal - but Gia Mia really impressed me. The building and ambiance are really cute, service is fantastic, the bartender actually knows how to make a great Old Fashioned, and the pizza was some of the best I've had in a while. The new Gia Mia in Naperville has done a marvelous job with the facility and the service. The food is also right on target.

The Wheaton location is much better. Another restaurant that struggles with parking. With that being said, they should put better people who answer their phone. We live on Naperville, and my husband has health problems, therefore we tried to inquire about delivery. The first time the person said they don't deliver its pick up only. A few weeks later, the person said "Door Dash" but when going on the app it said they didn't deliver. I tried one more time and called and the person abruptly said we don't deliver. Call Uber Eats. After fooling around on the Uber Eats app that wouldn't work, we gave up. Three days later Uber sent a text apologizing for the problem, their server was down. Too much trouble. We went elsewhere. I added two stars. Nicole, one of the managers,had a meal of our choice delivered to our home . She listened and was very accommodating to us. Thank you Nicole and the team at Gia Mia's. read more

I brought my girlfriend here as I'm a local and have frequented here before. We had dinner but upon leaving decided to use the restroom. While approaching the restroom my friend fell because the concrete floor hallway en route to the bathroom was wet! They didn't have carpet runners, didn't have a yellow caution wet sign up and the hallway pathway was completely wet from the nearby bar where the drinks were being made. After falling, she was given an ice pack while being interviewed by the manager asking what had happened. As she was giving her account of the story, the attending bar tender overheard & denied everything. He claimed he had the wet sign up, but he did not & I have proof. When leaving, the manager promised my friend they would get back to her asap and have their HR reach out to her the next day. They have not. She fell on 7/26 and today as I write this on 8/1 almost a week later, my friend has called them 3 times and has yet to receive any returned calls. Completely unacceptable & unprofessional. read more

Stopped at Gia Mia on our way home from a meeting. It was a lovely day and sitting outside was very inviting. Glad we had a table in the shade - the breeze was very nice but the music at times was a bit loud. We decided to have the lunch special - personal size pizza and salad. My husband had the Margherita pizza and the Italian Farm salad. I chose the Hammacker's Pie and Beet and Farro Salad. The whipped goat cheese was off on the side - I would have preferred it be more a part of the salad. We each had a beer and my Stella had a bit too much of a head but otherwise good. Our waitress was pleasant, gave us time to look over the menu and make decisions, and made the experience more enjoyable. Definitely will go again the next time we're near downtown. read more

We had put our name on the waiting list, we never got a response as they said it's a 30 min wait. after 40 mins my husband had gone and asked the host in which they said they contacted us but never got anything (fine there are glitches in that) but then the only accommodation they had was sitting on a couch set, which would have been fine if we did not have a 2 year old. We ordered a kids lemonade the waitress said they ran out of the lids, again understandable but when then another waitress we asked for the coke my husband asked for but thought we meant for our toddler came back with a kids coke with a lid we were confused about this. After calling the place to confirm they were booked, the person advised me that if we'd walk in it would be about a 30 minute wait so we took a chance. I wanted to highlight this specific location because it's located in the old Nichols Library. They did an amazing job preserving some of the brick walls and exposed wooden ceiling beams. Our waitress was very serviceable. Very attentive,pleasant and knowledgable with the menu. We started with the Watermelon and feta salad. It was very delicious. The combination of sweet and savory was on point. For appetizer we shared the Prosciutto and Burrata. My absolute favorite. My wife ordered the Butternut squash chicken and risotto and I had the Short rib Gnocchi. I enjoyed my gnocchi. It was almost like soft cheesy bites. My wife said her plate was ok. She expected the risotto to be Cheesy and it was actually separated rice. My apologies but we didn't leave room for desert. The good thing is we will be back. I have to try their pizza.
