If you want a fancy and cozy dining experience, GIA offers just that. The pasta was underwhelming, a little on the gummy side. Besides the pasta, the giant plant balls were tasty. Unfortunately, because it the hefty price tag for the subpar pasta made it not worth it.

Super fabulous time at GIA! Gorgeous location, ambiance, lovely sized menu, and great cocktails. This place is for sure on the more expensive side, with 4 people coming in after tip at around $350. This place fell in two areas: 1. They never asked about special occasions, celebrations, etc. for a nicer spot I thought this would be asked in the reservation, when joining the table. Etc. 2. The mains were hit and miss - the eggplant parm was randomly spicy and not salty enough, but the mushroom truffle pasta was a huge hit! Overall I just love a vegetarian spot, with cool vibes and I will for sure return.

Been coming to Gia for a while! This was my 4th visit - it was delightful as usual but I fear the extremely high standard of food has dropped ever so slightly. This is still one of my favourite places. Highly recommend the meatballs. The baby gem salad is also to die for...I'm trying to recreate it at home and it just can never beat the real thing. Stuffed agnolotti pasta was good.

Fam brought me for my birthday. Food was phenomenal and service was friendly. We had focaccia and Brie to start. Focaccia was crispy and chewy and tasted great. Brie was unique (plant based) with unexpected flavour. Hubby & I shared the vegan risotto (so amazing) and the mushroom steak with green beans and potatoes (seasoned well). Rest of family shared gnocchi (enjoyed it) and ravioli (also enjoyed). We finished with the peach cheesecake (not too sweet), semolina cake (enjoyed) and tiramisu (devoured). Everyone left full and happy. Cute setting with individual washrooms downstairs. Small dining area and bar but opening storefront beside it for takeaway. Street parking.

Really disappointed in the quality of food that we got at this restaurant it was rated Michelin appointed and we came here for my friends birthday. Given that she's vegetarian, we figured we could share everything on the menu and that way we weren't stuck with just our own meals to try and got to get a little bit of everything. Well, I love the concept of vegan Italian food. It's definitely not something that I would ever try again. I found the taste not palatable and Italian is my favourite cuisine. One of the dishes tasted like hotdog pasta. The pistachio cake was really dry and needed more moist for it to be edible. We sat right beside the kitchen, which made it extremely hot in an area where there was no air-conditioning or moving air. What was even more of an inconvenience for me was at the floor, where I was seated, had a warp in it and so anytime someone walked over it. It would move my chair and make me feel uncomfortable. The individual serving us told us she would give us a free dessert to compensate for our experience however, when the bill came, we were charged for both and we didn't complain.

The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday afternoon. It's a cute spot, with a nice bar. They brought out our food within minutes of ordering. We got the burrata and the white truffle agnolotti. Both dishes were good. The agnolotti was a little salty but we demolished it within 12 mins. I would definitely go back to try more dishes.

Came here on a whim with my friend as we wanted something vegetarian so didn't have any expectations. Honestly, the food was ok and ambiance was cute. I'm very hard to please with service and the service here wasn't anything standout. We got a few dishes to share and portions were decent. Brussel sprouts (0/5): not sure what was going on with these but the vinaigrette didn't pair well and it was sour and a bit spicy. We had a hard time finishing these Meatballs (4.5/5): pretty good meatballs, they had a nice crust on the outside and flavour was good. However, they were meatballs with tomato sauce so it's not something to rave about. Wish they gave us something to dip the leftover sauce with Agnolotti (4/5): liked this dish a lot, but I pretty much like anything with truffle. Plus, it's hard for a cheese ravioli to taste bad in my opinion. The sauce was not too heavy, which I liked.

One of the best vegetarian restaurants I've been too. A great vibes and services as well. Note the truffle pasta as top top top notch. The gnocchi was fantastic. Well done.

The food at Gia is delicious! We came for a friends birthday and we're pleasantly surprised with how well prepared their dishes were. Very generous portions with the olives as apps; pastas were flavourful, especially the porcini agnolotti; and the parmigiana di melanzane was well made. The focaccia was a bit too salty and overpowering with rosemary, and the cocktails were very similar to drinks I've had at Luma and not unique. Although the service was friendly, the waitress cleared our plate of focaccia before we were finished with it, instead of asking us if she take it away. Overall, a good vegetarian restaurant in the west end.

My partner and I frequently travel to Toronto for their incredible vegan food scene, a few months ago we went to GIA for brunch and the food was incredible but we were so excited to come back and try their dinner menu. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is amazing, great music, beautiful lighting with gorgeous & comfortable furnishings. Definitely a great date night spot. The service was wonderful, our server was very kind, attentive and super helpful. For appetizers we had the focaccia bread served with a delicious maple butter and the Brie which was phenomenal and I've never seen or tried a plant based Brie! For entrees we had the rigatoni bolognese, risotto Milanese, and the lions mane bistecca which were all fantastic. The lions mane bistecca was by far my favorite dish. They have the BEST mock-tail I've ever tried, gettin' figgy with it! I would absolutely recommend giving GIA a try, I cannot wait to come back!

Wow did this place impress. We were in Toronto for a week and had to go back twice! The pasta was so amazing. We had a bolognese and a truffle pasta, I can't believe this was vegan and tasted this good, my wife isn't vegan and she said this was the best pasta she's ever had.

Got the "Feed Me", cause i was hungry. Really liked the interior and vibes of the restaurant, but…read morebar seating was cramped and uncomfortable. Service was extremely attentive and quick. Really good vegan spot, would reccomend. Scrumptious Rice Cake: A great start! The rice cake had a unique texture. Almost custard-like, but with a more solid structure. The radish had a great bite, but was a bit over-marinated in soy sauce. Cucur Sayur: Light and crisp fried bites. The red pepper sauce brightened up the fritters by adding a hint of sweetness. Char Siu Bao: A well-excuted vegan dish. The seitan is really meaty, albeit lacking some of the chew of pork. Wouldve enjoyed it more if they went a bit lighter on the scallion mayo. Acar Kale Salad: A refreshing, acidic, and slightly sweet salad. Really enjoyed this one. Shroom Braise: A dish that should be delicious in theory, but falters in execution. The plating is a bit too small, the sauce a tad too salty, the mushrooms a bit rubbery. The dish also needed something to break up the strong umami present in each bite.

They even started offering a six-course tasting menu ($55 per person) allowing the table to sample…read more60% of their offerings. It started with some scrumptious cakes ($14; normally 4 to an order), a soft steamed rice cake topped with finely chopped preserved radish. Much silkier than radish cake, it's a cross between that and silken tofu. And while the sweet and salty radish relish was a good start, the dish needed something else (maybe scallions or fried shallots) and more of their famous sambal as I couldn't taste a lick of heat. One dish that stood the test of time is the dhal and roti ($14), a deeply flavoured yellow lentil curry topped with onion chili oil. Yet, it's the flaky Malay roti that really makes the dish - piping hot and well toasted with crispy edges. I could eat this with a dip, as a wrap, or stuffed. If dining a la carte, it may be wise to order some of the roti with the satay veg ($19), to dip into the thick savoury peanut sauce but also to counteract the saltiness of the dish. Served without a side, the vegetables didn't need so much seasoning, especially the rapini which almost seemed like it was marinated in salt water. It'd be wise for Fat Choi to serve this with rice. Plenty of slices of "barbeque pork" seitan are tucked into a fluffy steamed bun to create the char siu bao ($19). It's tasty, sandwiched with a large slice of pickled daikon, leaf lettuce, and scallion mayo. We all agreed something has changed with the prosperity tossed slaw ($24). It's still made with twenty ingredients that create a cacophony of textures, but the ratio of the ingredients has changed - more cabbage and radish and less herbs? Perhaps it just wasn't dressed with enough of the yuzu plum dressing and way too many peanuts, but the salad just didn't pack that punch of flavour of the past. The same can't be said about the cumin noods ($26). If you're a fan of Northern Chinese dishes like dan dan noodles, grilled lamb skewers and hand-pulled noodles, the dish is the baby born from the trio. But you must like cumin as there's tons of it! Crumbled tofu was flavoured with the spice, a light helping of numbing Szechuan pepper (thank you!), chili oil, and Chinese vinegar to create a spicy and savoury concoction. The flat ribbons of noodles had a lovely springy texture and could hold up against the sauce. Make sure to get a bite with the crunchy celery, scallions, and micro greens as they help balance out the cumin.

They are knowing for having farm to table food and great cocktails. We ordered the burrata, the spinach dip and the cauliflower. I also got the chai espresso martini for a cocktail. The burrata was mind blowing, it had a nice combination of creamy from the burrata and sweet from the roasted vegetables. I ate this up so fast, it was so good. The spinach dip was too cheesy it overwhelmed us a bit. It also overpowered the spinach. The cauliflower was spicy and nice but it was too saucy and overwhelming as well. The chai espresso martini was very nice but I couldn't taste the chai, it just tasted like a regular espresso martini, but it was very nicely made. They also had a private event booked at 9:45 and they didn't let us know before our reservation so it was really frustrating and docked a .5, making this place a 3.5. Definitely did not seem professional to do that. Overall a good experience, and would most likely return if they don't book a private event and tell me after I sit down I have to leave after an hour.

Nice ambiance over all. We're not strict veg, we just like to lean that way most nights so we thought we'd check Bellona out. A totally unexpected surprise…read more We were hankering for meatless/less heavy, and stumbled upon this charming Vietnamese restaurant. A tiny, family business who provide a quiet, serene and pleasant dining experience. NO MUSIC. BONUS! Spouse had the "bun bo Hue" and myself the "crab and fish maw". Hubby said that the taste and texture of the seitan (glutens) were on point. The "fish maw" in my crab soup had a perfect fish maw texture! We polished both off our dishes in record time and felt good about what we ate. I'm not a vegan but sometimes you just want something light and sustaining. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. It felt a bit cramped, and with everyone turning to look at us, it was a little awkward- definitely one of those we just walked into the wrong party moments. Once we got seated, we were handed menus with numbers and asked to write down the codes for what we wanted. I wasn't super hungry, so I ordered the spicy tofu and spring rolls as appetizers, while the rest of the group ordered a variety of noodle dishes. One by one, the dishes started arriving, and I have to say, the portions were generous and everything I tasted was really flavorful. But then I kept waiting for my food, and by the time everyone else was nearly done eating, the server came over to say they had run out of crispy tofu. On top of that, we had ordered two spring rolls and only received one, even though we clearly marked "x2" on the sheet. At that point, it didn't make sense to order something else and wait another 20 minutes to eat alone, so I just ordered a spring roll and rice chicken roll to go. Overall, the noodle dishes were delicious and definitely something I'd come back for. But the restaurant could really use some improvements in organization, space management, and order accuracy.
