This espresso has an old world quality that I've never tasted at Starbucks. And I certainly love my Starbucks. They offer both soy & almond milk here. Starbucks doesn't have almond milk. My first order, an almond milk Milano, reminded me of the mochas I used to get when I was in college. At a real coffeehouse. Uber smooth. You can actually taste the roast. So I've driven past this place over 100 times. So finally I stopped by. I was very nervous at first because I did not know the menu or the concept of this coffee place. But I was educated very eloquently by the young gentleman at the window. He even explained to me the meaning of the name off the establishment, which meant James in Italian. So yesterday 1/14/24 I decided to drive to the Standiford location and try out the coffee and one of the breakfast items on the menu. My daughter and I loved the croissant. Since I really liked the coffee I had tried at the scenic location the day before, I decided to try a medium hot coffee with oat milk and it was perfect. There was a young man and a young lady working (I wish I would've got their names). They had good customer service and were patient and answered all of my questions about the different options they had to offer. So today I decided to try the third location on Oakdale Road. This time I got the young ladies name who was working. Her name is Valerie. She was very friendly and had a welcoming attitude. I wish the scenic location was this way. I will definitely continue to visit Giacomo's (with the exception of the scenic location) because I really enjoyed their coffee, I love the prices and I appreciate their friendliness. This establishment has a new location at the Vintage Car Wash. I went there today to get a breakfast sandwich while I waited for my truck to be washed. I stood at the cash register for about five minutes while four workers did nothing but be very confused and not acknowledge me whatsoever. Once it was time for me to order the young lady said, "What would you like?". No acknowledgment to my wait no apology either. I asked for a breakfast burrito with bacon. She paused and responded quickly we're out of bacon. No sorry no other suggestions, nothing. I thought point I just decided that I didn't want anything from them it was very apparent that customer service was not important. read more

I have been driving past here for awhile now and finally decided to pull in and give it a try! SO glad I did! Their coffee is delicious and their customer service is amazing! When I went for my first time I wasn't sure if I wanted what I normally get or to try something new and they were so helpful! I love how friendly they are, it's very nice especially early in the morning when I stop in. Convenient as a drive-thru but still exudes character and has a wonderful selection of coffees and drinks you won't find elsewhere in Modesto. Two gorgeous murals are right next to it so take a moment to enjoy your coffee or smoothie while spec'ing the art. Just recently started going to Giacamo's regularly when my friend had me try her honey lavender latte. Needless to say, I'm addicted. The downside is all the baristas make the drink a little different but it hasn't stopped me from going back again and again. Occasionally I'll order a strawberry soy milk drink if I'm craving it and not in the mood for caffeine. I love that they have alternative milk options, and some things on the menu that are a little different from the norm. The lines at the drive thru can get a little backed up in the morning but it has never taken too long. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. I love that they have stamp cards, buy 10 get the 11th free, because I've been going so consistently I've gotten a few free drink so far (which I am very thankful for). I haven't tried any of the food but I know they have some options if you're looking for a snack on the go. Also haven't really looked in to any vegan food options since I usually am just in the mood for that delicious honey lavender latte. read more

I have always loved this spot for coffee and have regularly supported it, since forever but I'm getting on here to rate with one star for all the coffee drinks I get lately from here are terrible. This iced coffee it actually tastes like water with creamer in, so gross! A few times I have gone there they say they are out of iced coffee. I mean other drinks I have the coffee tastes bad too! I would recommend not wasting your money on this place anymore the coffee just isn't up to par at all. On top of that they raised the prices for the water down coffee. Such a bummer cause I loved this place. Hope they can improve or I am sure people won't be loyal anymore. read more

Days like today I wish I could give 10 stars ...my coffee was so incredibly perfect!! It's always good and costs less than the big name coffee shop right across the street from them. But let me point out some differences that matter to me. Some people may think I'm nit picking, but maybe you will find them to be important too. Ok first....this place is not in the heart of major car traffic. It's on the corner of a big street..scenic..and a small residential street..Melrose which is right off Morris or Lucerne so you don't have to work your way into the parking lot or drive thru. Next, it has two drive thrus with two or more people serving customers. And maybe I should not share this because they may not have any left when I get there, but they have huge delicious bear claws dripping with frosting and slivered almonds. Today Molly told me exactly how she prepared my vanilla latté, so I can let whomever is making my order know exactly what I like. I can't stress enough how perfectly perfect she made it...super hot, lots of foam and vanilla. Mmmmmm! And, I didn't have to cross over crazy Scenic Avenue with traffic coming from all sides when I'm still groggy and need coffee or deal with overpriced morning brew which would be acceptable if the quality weren't so inconsistent. Then I gotta work my way out of the huge parking lot with cars coming from all directions..not just 4 but even in between rows and hope that no one is forgetting that the exit intersects a one way street. Morning drivers can be really distracted and careless. So great coffee...great service from smiling, polite, math conscious clean looking people who manage to focus on accuracy and a location that's pleasantly accessible with a big driveway too. They also have some cute little toys outside the pickup window, and the decor on the menus and building is inviting. If you're getting coffee or need coffee and are near Giacomo's, try them out. And get a green frequent buyers card so you can get a free cup on number eleven. You won't have to wonder and hope that what you ordered is what you got and tastes the way you like it. Ordered a chai tea with a shot of espresso. I was given a drink that tasted way too strong like chai, but not in a pleasant way. Asked for it to be remade with less. Received a drink that tasted like milk and espresso. Asked for my money back and the employee said they switched to a new concentrated kind, and showed me a syrupy container. This is my home always from home!!! Love this place and their prices. The staff is always amazing!!! I do however have one request..... I can't tip if I don't have cash and I very rarely have cash on me. It's just not safe to carry cash now days. Please please make it so customers can tip off their debit/ credit card.
