It's a good resource for those rare occasions when you need a part and can't possibly wait for two days for the same factory OEM part to arrive from an online source. You'll pay twice as much, literally. Plus have to drive to get it, and in my experience, their answer is always "We don't have it in stock, but we can get it from the warehouse (late today, or tomorrow." But when you need it badly and can't wait an extra day (broken fridge maybe?), it's great to have an outlet in the region you can drive to for picking up a needed part. I have had a mixed experience here. If I was looking for parts or advice, this is hands down the place to go. If I'm looking for a used washer, however, buyer beware. I'm more mad at myself than them because I saw a dirty washer and thought, maybe they'll drop the price. Looking back, that was a braindead idea. All used washers are going to have filth between the drum and the tub. I totally picked the washer from hell. There was even a transmission leak that I initially thought was my fault for transporting it on its side. They replaced the transmission but left the tubs dirty as is. Well, I wasn't happy getting bits of oily gunk all over my clothes. I tried cleaning all that gunk but centrifuged, aged oily lint is literally impossible to clean. I called and texted a picture of the gunk I found and they did the right thing by offering me a refund although they have a strict no refund policy. So my one star review is now a 4 because I want this business to do well and know it's a struggle. There are too many things going to landfill and though older appliances are built to last, most people just buy new things. I'm pretty sure my situation was the worst case scenario. But hey, I learned a ton about washers. read more

Had a small warranty issue with a slightly wiggly control panel on the washer--low priority stuff, especially considering the simple fix, and that my parents live 40 min from the showroom. It took a nudge or two, but they eventually came all the way out to my parent's home to tighten a screw on the control panel. I called the store 5pm and the lady was trying to be as helpful on the phone as she could. I went into the store and bought a 3 n 1 jump start for fridge. She said if I have any questions or advise to call Tim. I went him and installed but the compressor wouldn't come on. I called Tim and he answered. He was nice and said text him the info and he will try to make it out that day. So I send him a follow up text and he apologizes and said he can possibly be out the next day as he will be near me. I text Tim the following morning advising I would be home all day. I got no reply. I text him again and no reply. I then call the store and speak with his wife and the earliest appointment is Thursday. Worst customer service ever. You have lost a customer and I will be telling people not to go here. Just had a really great experience with the staff at Gianelli's. We'd been trying to use a residential washing machine for commercial use, and just kept burning through them every 2 years, so it was time to make a move up to a Speed Queen commercial unit. Tim was extremely helpful educating me about all of the options and trade-offs, and took the time to understand my needs and match me with a washer that would last the longest (most important to me), as well as include a couple of nice-to-have features. They were able provide a unit that was in stock during a time when my neighbors are waiting months for their new appliances, and because my old broken unit was impacting our ability to do business, they are going to make a special evening delivery so I have have my new washer the next day. We used to purchase all of our appliances from a locally owned store, but they closed a while ago, and we began buying from the big box home improvement stores. Our washer went out without any warning. We called Gianelli's for help. They had Richard Gianelli come to our home to diagnose the problem. He arrived ahead of schedule and quickly diagnosed the issue. He then determined how long it would take to get the part from Fresno and provided us with a detailed estimate and he discussed other options with us. We decided to replace the washer since the old one was over 10 years old. Richard then put us in connect with Richard Jr. Who went over our choices. We thought we would have to wait another day but they were able to deliver the East that evening and had it installed an operational in 40 minutes. They then hauled away the old washer at no additional cost. Richard and his team were a pleasure to work with. We will go to them again for appliances repairs and replacement. read more

This is the friendliest and most customer-service oriented appliance parts store I have ever encountered. I needed a new hinge for my oven door. I talked with Shantelle after I had emailed them the night before. I wanted to give them a heads-up since I couldn't call until Monday. She had already spent an unsuccessful half hour waiting on the phone with Tappan after getting my email, in search of the part, based on my receipt from Sears. It wasn't the right model number. She spent time on the phone with me, patiently asking me to check different areas of the oven, to no avail. She said if I did find the model number on my documentation, to give her a call. Excellent customer service!!! I had a clothes washer break on me and was trying to fix myself. I needed a particular part that they were more than happy to provide. I found out I needed bolts along with the part I had previously ordered. They did not have those boots but were more than helpful in helping me find these bolts at Ace. This was more than helpful as not only did they not have the bolts, but were upfront and honest telling me that they could order those bolts but it would be pricey and saved me $$$ by referring me to Ace hardware. I highly recommend and will continue to come back... its hard to come by this kind if help now days. read more

First rate customer service! That is my assessment after Tim Gianelli, to my astonishment, came to my home at 10:00 pm on a Friday night to repair my 29 year old Hotpoint refrigerator. I called Gianelli's Appliance store that afternoon looking for a thermostat for the refrigerator because I could not find the obsolete part anywhere in the Sacramento area or online. The store gave me Tim's cell phone number and I called him hoping to get a replacement part number or be able to pick up a part at the store that would work. To my surprise, Tim said that even though he was fully booked that day, he would be passing by my neighborhood later in the evening and would be happy to stop by and see if one of the thermostats he had would work. I texted him at 9:00 pm to see if he was still coming, he said that it would be a little bit later. He arrived at 10:00 pm, provided me with a part that worked and because I am an electrician and had taken the part out, he gave me the option of replacing myself. I was able to put the new part in myself. Tim charged me for the part only. I was not expecting any of that. That kind of customer focused service seems to be a rarity these days, but besides the service, Tim's attitude and behavior struck me as another rarity. He was polite, caring, respectful and trustworthy and knowledgeable. I couldn't ask for more. I was able to get my refrigerator working and, for the time being, am avoiding spending $2,000 for a new one. Our refrigerator stopped keeping food cold, stopped freezing food and stopped making ice. Richard Gianelli came with the relay for the compressor we needed, fixed it, all in less than an hour! The other service place wanted to replace our ice maker but they couldn't get the part. Well, we didn't need a new ice maker, we only needed to replace the relay! Now the ice maker works, the refrigerator works and the freezer works! And Richard showed me how to keep dust from accumulating which in turn will keep the refrigerator running better, longer. I can only say that today God sent two angels to my house. I got a washer and refrigerator from them and it was a bitch to get them into my house as I live in a mobile home, but they both did it, bless their hearts and I mention that my heater was not working, and all ready had to other companies out with a repair coating over $900 to get it fixed and Dad and Son looked at each other and within 5 minutes it was working and they did not charge me. The one of the hottest weekend in Sacramento, our ac goes out. My husband makes it to Gianelli's 5 minutes before closing. The lady working was extremely helpful and ended up calling the owner for advice about our situation. My 14-year old refrigerator had been leaking inside the refrigerator compartment for, oh, probably a year. I dealt with it by putting bowls inside to catch the drips, not wanting to know what it would cost to fix. Finally I rather randomly called Gianelli's and what a lucky thing I did! Richard came out, said, "It's a blocked drain hose." Found the blockage, cleared it, cleaned out the freezer section so no little pieces of ice would re-block it, and left. Within two weeks, dripping again into the refrigerator section Richard came again, unblocked the hose, cleaned it out again, very thoroughly. (no charge for the second visit.) Within two weeks it's like he was never there. He came back, thought about it, and remembered back in the dark ages of refrigeration where one manufacturer had sold kits to stop this very problem. The metal channel where water collects during defrost, had become banged up and water didn't completely run out. When the freeze cycle came on, the residual water froze and blocked the drain hose. The kits were basically a piece of metal that wrapped around the heater coil and stuck down in the drain hose. It would stay warm and prevent ice forming around the opening. (I think modern fridges have this built in.) He had a little piece of wire in his car, wrapped one end around the heater unit, stuck the other part into the drain and ... Success! It has been nearly three weeks -- I left the buckets in place and there has been NOT A DROP. (and no charge for this visit, either.) So thank you, Richard for sticking with this problem until it was solved. You are my hero. read more

My 14 yr. old refrigerator stop cooling suddenly. I called one repairman who said it was my condenser which was too expensive to repair. Looked for a new one to find out it would take weeks to get one shipped. Went to Gianelli's to buy a used one until I could get a replacement. When it was delivered, I talked to the owner about my refrigerator. He checked it out and said it wasn't the condenser. Hooked up the used refrigerator and said he would be back in a few days to try and repair my old one. After three valiant attempts to fixed it, I finally gave up. He went above and beyond to try and get my refrigerator running for me. The used refrigerator was reasonably priced, and the parts and labor for the repair attempts on my refrigerator were very reasonable. Although I have already placed an order for a new refrigerator which won't be delivered until at earliest June 10, he offered to see if he could get me the same refrigerator for the same price quicker. I HIGHLY recommend this business. Everyone I dealt with was extremely polite and professional. They really care about making their customers happy. read more
