Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant and was really excited to try it. I drove a half hour and used GPS to find it and went to the link that said menu, made choices for my family's dinner, pressed the button to call the restaurant and ordered my food. We were all really excited to try a new place but unfortunately when I arrived and went to pay for my take out, it went from being $53 to being $82. I asked about the difference and was told to walk to the back to talk to the owner who, in an indescribably rude way yelled that he wasn't in control of his pricing and that I could either pay the higher price or not eat there. I explained that the link to the menu goes to yelp, which also goes to all of the pictures of his food, descriptions, prices. The link also goes to these reviews and provides a hyperlink to the restaurant's number which i clicked on to call and order. The owner yelled in my face, insisting none of that was his fault and that he has no control over either Google or yelp, and that yelp can list his prices at any price they want. (Insane) He had absolutely no interest in the fact that he was misrepresenting his pricing or that I was really excited about eating at his restaurant. None whatsoever. He didn't explain things at all or offer to meet me halfway on price or anything. At this point he could be dishing out gold, and I would never darken that doorway again. Not because of whatever mistake was made in the pricing, but because of his loud, rude behavior and immediate need to do battle with a person who was simply asking for an explanation. The worst customer service and the worst calling card ever.

I'd like to be able to give 3.5 because it wasn't a 3 and not quite a 4/5 stars. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by a place with a "teriyaki cream sauce" on pasta with veggies. I had read the owner is from Italy so I wanted to try it. Our young waiter apologized from the get-go that he might be delayed because he was "working take out". We thought we're sunk. BUT the chardonnay was creamy & lovely - nice pour. And out waiter was very attentive, checking in after our dishes came. I only have a picture of our local mushroom appetizer - we were so hungry we didn't get any more. Hubs had crazy Gorgonzola - yum! I had Aglio E Olio and it was ok. Little too much oil and not enough salt. We'll definitely be back

    Gorgonzola bread fondue! Amazing!

Just tried it here for the first time. I think it will be our new regular place! The ambience was warm and cozy and decorated for Christmas. Our waitress was good and checked on us multiple times. It's a small place so reservations are helpful. The food was very good and I haven't seen portions like that in years. We started with the Gorgonzola bread fondue. Wow! The fondue was amazing. They definitely didn't provide enough bread compared to the bowl of fondue and for the price but it was so delicious. A must order!!! I had shrimp scampi with huge shrimp. It was delicious. My husband had the bolognese and he said it was delicious! He also had a yummy espresso martini. Prices were very reasonable. We can't wait to go again!

We had reservations at Gianni Fig's and it was better than expected. We ordered Burrata and Fried Eggplant to start, and I ordered the Spicy Gorgonzola, replaced sausage with vegetables and fettuccini with penne. Family ordered Crazy Gorgonzola + Ribeye with vegetable side. I ordered a "Second Wind" at the end and it was fantastic. I didn't catch the waitresses name, but they could do better at filling the water glasses and checking in. We spent about 2 hours here and had to ask for water. Relatively slow service but probably to give people enough time to talk. Ambience: 4/5 Food: 4.5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Gianni Fig's: 4.25/5

What a fun night. Service A+. Knowledgeable, accommodating and attentive. Food delicious, portions enough for lunch tomorrow. Cocktails creative and good pours. Restaurant atmosphere was pleasant and not loud, such a bonus. Sorry it took me so long to try this restaurant. I'll be back.

    Chicken cordon blue

This little place was absolutely amazing. The service was great, the portions are large, the drinks were amazing! The food, WOW. I had the chicken cordon blue and it was so delicious. It's small and fills up fast, don't forget to set a reservation! There were people waiting outside 20 minutes before they opened! Definitely coming back one day! (We drove two hours for this!) it was a great spot for a birthday dinner! They were also VERY accommodating of my service dog. Gave him a bowl of water and were very sweet to him.

Overall we had a good experience. The atmosphere and service were great. We tried the fried mozzarella for an appetizer. For mains we got homemade gnocchi (9/10) and the crazy Gorgonzola (7/10). The chicken and Italian sausage in the Gorgonzola weren't that great, over cooked and chewy. That was the only disappointing part but the overall flavors were great. More information: If you are going to pick between soup and salad for your meal, go with the soup. The salad wasn't impressive looking or tasting at all. They give you bread and olive oil mixture to start.

We timed it and were about to leave, it took almost 20 minutes to even get our waters filled. Even with the place not very crowded. We watched as waitresses tended to people that came in after us and were about to leave when we got a wonderful, caring waitress Marina. She was spectacular, very nice and engaging. If it wasn't for her the entire experience would have been a bust. The Caesar salad was not a Caesar salad the dressing was bland. My wife had a burger that was not the medium rare she ordered and was sloppily put together. plus it was lacking bbq sauce even thought that was in the name of the burger. It looked like something you would get at a fast food place. I ordered the lobster ravioli and the lobster was tough and there was no flavor. With all these mishaps if it wasn't for marina I would be giving 1 star. she really made the disappointing evening much better. For what we paid we were left annoyed and rushing out. I hope they step up their game and give Marina the praise she deserves

The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of an architecturally pleasing brick building, with the interior ambiance (decor & lighting) fitting of the food style, setting a comforting mood along with the classic 50's/60's Italian American music. All around the food was both tasteful and comforting, similar to what I remember my Nonni would make. From the Calamari Friitti (appetizer) served with both a marinara and vodka sauce, the Meatballs (appetizer) of a classic beef and pork blend, to the Chicken Francaise (dinner), everything combined for a delicious meal. Mulino's is a great estaurant to visit with your spouse or friends for a nice 'family' dinner without being overly fancy/stuffy. One minor critique as I pretend to be a legitimate food reviewer, add a slight touch more butter to the Chicken Francaise sauce. My son and I collectively rated Mulino's: 4.25/5.

Reviewed by Frog E. Green, Local Insect Control Specialist…read more As a longtime resident of the landscaping district immediately outside Hope & Olive, I've sampled many dining establishments in the area. Most offer mediocre lighting, poor insect traffic, and zero ambiance. Hope & Olive, however, continues to set the gold standard for frog fine dining. I arrived yesterday evening and secured a prime outdoor window-side table (vertical seating available for amphibian guests). The view was excellent, featuring lush greenery, attentive human patrons, and a climate-controlled observation deck. The appetizer selection was promising. Several small flying items passed through the area, but I decided to hold out for something more substantial. Excellent decision. Approximately midway through service, an enormous grasshopper practically launched itself onto a decorative hanging orb provided by management. I was immediately impressed by Hope & Olive's commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The entrée did put up a bit of a struggle. However, after a brief period of strategic positioning, professional stalking, and one lightning-fast procurement maneuver, I was able to enjoy the entire grasshopper. Portions are very generous. In fact, the meal was nearly as long as I am. Service was outstanding. The nearby humans appeared fascinated by my dining experience and refrained from interrupting me while I consumed an insect roughly the size of a canoe. After dinner, comfortably stuffed, I retired to the interior of the decorative orb for what can only be described as a food coma. It served as an excellent after-dinner lounge. As for the human food, judging from the smiles, laughter, and complete lack of attempts to steal my grasshopper, it appeared to be quite good as well. Pros: Farm-to-frog dining Excellent grasshopper acquisition opportunities Beautiful garden views Comfortable post-meal napping accommodations Curious but respectful human audience Cons: Grasshopper only appears once per evening Difficult to fit into your mouth, but that's a "me" problem Would hop here again.
