I had the taste for some…read morepastries and before I could grab a few tasty treats was a couple who did not use the tissue paper or tongs to grab the pastries. They straight used their bare hands to reach in and grab pastries. I find this disgusting and unsanitary. No one wants to eat your germs. I made a suggestion to an employee, but he said people are going to do what they going to do. So as a warning I would avoid get pastries unless you like your baked goods covered in germs. Other than that I was happy to see my pizza restocked and a variety of frozen fruit.

This Lidl has a large free parking lot and offers both small and large carts. And you don't need to scramble for a quarter to release the cart-- these are free floaters. Another reason we like to come to the Lidl on Bel Air Road in Nottingham is to look at and sometimes buy flowers and plants-- they really have a nicer selection of flowers and plants for a grocery store. And perhaps the best part of Lidl is their fresh bakery. We have to buy pretzel rolls and jelly-filled doughnuts aka Berliners. The baked goods are always so fresh at this Lidl. The star of the story is Trish in Pharmacy who helped me on the phone Monday and today Wednesday. As promised, she kept track of the prescriptions as they came in, double checked that everything was OK and did so cheerfully. There was one prescription I was hesitant to transfer due to the lengthy process it took to get approved. Tricia told me what she could do and when and how I could cancell it if I wanted to keep it at the old, bad place. I mean talk about above and beyond, this was surprise and delight! The rest of the store was clean, well organized and filled with really friendly folk. I left another Harris Teeter because I could not say nice things about their service. Had I known how great this store and Tricia are, I could have saved myself the hassle of the mail order pharmacy and supported Harris Teeter as their company values mean a lot to me. Again, Tricia is a perfect example of why Harris Teeter is worth supporting despite the bad service at the Whitstone Way store.

There were three other registers that weren't open I would have thought on a day where it was so packed that they would have opened all five. Aside from having to wait in line so long to check out, it was easy to find what I needed here even though I've never been to this Aldi location before. I was passing through on my way somewhere else and stopped to pick up the necessary groceries. I love the selection and found what I needed pretty easily. I also found things I didn't need but wanted and it made for an easy shopping trip. I would likely come back here again if I were in the area. I would purchase this combination of items almost every day. I would constantly deal with this white cashier, who would also ask for ID. Now, here me out. There is nothing wrong with a seller of alcohol asking a buyer of alcohol for his ID. I always presented my driver's license to the lady. However, one day, I got tired of checking out the beer first. Instead, I checked out the food, telling the cashier that I would check out the beer/show ID after ringing up the 5 spicy chicken tenders with fries. She ignored me and checked out only the food. I explained how I wanted to purchase the beer as well, and the cashier scolded me in a condescending manner, stating that I would have to pay for the alcohol. Cofused and embarassed, I quickly apologized and moved on to pick up my food. I walked to the food area to pick up my 5 spicy chicken tenders with fries. There, another white employee ignored me as I explained what had happened to the cashier. He walked away, shunning me. He came back and asked, "What did you get?" After being confused and embarassed a second time, I defensively responded, "You tell me. I have been coming here every day now..." It was soon afterwards that the employee hastily prepared my order. You think whatever you want. The point here is that these two employees made me feel like I was not a valuable customer. Don't pay people to disrespect you.
