Nothing brings you face to face with mortality than seeing your young children and wonder how long you'll be around to see them graduate or marry. With our son being baptized last weekend, followed by 'real talk' with your medical specialist about the consequences of poor decisions, buffets and late nights all catching up after years of sedentary lifestyle, something needed to change. So I got a bike. The last time I used a bike regularly was in the 80's where my Tuffy took me miles away from home. And the desperate race to get home before dark and my father's whupping. I did my usual research, comparing and investigating different brands, different styles of bikes and their uses. I already had my heart set on a cyclocross or gravel bike. My buddy Gruber had a Surly that he rode 22 miles both ways to work in the dead of a Chicago winter from our apartment downtown. That sold me on the practical use of a bike that could take it under adverse conditions. I had actually looked for the right bike since. But I couldn't part ways with $3-5k on a Specialized or Trek. That was an expense I usually spared for firearms - truth talk. After my doctors appointment I made a call to the one closest to home. Giant on Blue Diamond. Spoke with Hanna and told her what I was looking for. She mentioned a couple of different models that fit the bill but what caught my attention was that one model was nearly $550 off the full price but it was the last model on the show floor. I gave it 2 weeks. And then 2 nights in a row I wake up with GI pain that kept me awake all night. I swung to the store when they opened and Pat and Hanna showed me some really cool features - 1. It was my size, 2. The tires were tubeless so there was no need to fill the tires with air - better for running over pointy things and keep on rolling, and 3. A brake system based on hydraulics. I was out of excuses. I bought it before anyone else could snap it up. Pat adjusted everything and Hanna shaved some of the seat stem after measuring - while cautioning me on the expectations and finer points of bicycling. Bottom line, I highly recommend! They're knowledgeable without being pretentious. Informative without being pushy or upselling at every opportunity. Both of them advising to spend on higher end items until I was properly broken in. I had my bike serviced at giant, picked it up and went to work for 8 hours, when I got home and removed my bike from my truck I found one of the tubes flat, after spending a considerable amount of money on new chain. tubes parts and labor. I contacted the business and was assisted by Hannah Baca who was more than happy to help. I took my bike back in the store and she personally changed out my tube. lubricated the chain and brakes and insured that repairs were conducted properly and efficiently. 10/10 Bike Shop. I came in with a flat tire and honestly, as someone who's still pretty new to mountain biking, I wasn't sure what to expect. From the second I walked in, the team made me feel completely welcome -- no ego, no judgment, just genuine help. They didn't just fix my tire, they actually helped me understand the sport a little better. That meant a lot. When you're a beginner, that kind of patience and education builds confidence. Hannah especially was incredible -- her speed changing my tire was unreal. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Efficient, professional, and still super kind the entire time. What really stood out to me is that I don't even ride a Giant bike (yet), and they still treated me like I was family. That says everything about the culture of this shop. BEST BIKE SHOP EXPERIENCE EVER! We rented four electric mountain bikes from Giant Las Vegas in Summerlin. The weather was super hot at 100 degrees plus, so we opted to start as late in the day as possible. We planned to ride from the shop to Red Red Canyon and bring the bikes back the next day. The bikes were top of the line, even better than we expected loaded with tool kits, chargers, and helmets. The team at the Giant Las Vegas were fantastic, adjusting each bike to fit us properly. Since the park entrance was closing at dark, we weren't sure we would make it on time. Barry, the owner of the bike shop, offered to drive our bikes to a spot closer to the Red Rick Canyon. He loaded the bikes into his personal vehicle and saved the day! Great experience. Receiving personal service like that, I will only buy my future bikes from Giant Las Vegas. No Stars!!! I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Giant Las Vegas Bikes. The Henderson location staff was unbelievably rude and condescending. Instead of being helpful or welcoming, they made me feel like I was bothering them with my questions. It was clear that customer service is not a priority here, and I was treated with complete disregard. To make matters worse, I had a similar bad experience when I called in to inquire about service at the Summerlin location. The person on the phone was just as dismissive and unhelpful. This kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially when dealing with loyal customers. I will NEVER buy anything or recommend this store again and would strongly advise anyone looking for a positive shopping experience to take their business elsewhere. I called from out of town, did not buy my bike there and asked for advice on upgrading a bike. Adam like helped me over and above what I could have asked for. This is a review for both the mountains edge and summerlin store. Went to get a single spoke replaced at the mountain edge store since it's only 2 mile from my house but was told they didn't have one but the summerlin store had it and could replace it. I called the summerlin store and they had it in stock, and could have it repaired by the technician that day. So I drove up to Summerlin and when I arrived I was told that the technician was not there and couldn't do it. So I asked if I could buy the part and take it back to the mountain edge store and if they could do it there, they called over and was told that they could do it. So I bought the part and drove back to Mountain's edge store and when I arrived they said they couldn't do it after complaining about having me drive back and forth they agreed that they would do it. As I was filling out the paperwork they told me I could come back for it in a couple days. I told them that they told me they could do it while I was waiting and they said they had to send it out to put a spoke on. I'm not sure what kind of store this is that advertises bike service if they can't replace a single spoke without having to send it out. I guess it's only a bike sale only store and not really a full service store. Needless to say I am not going back to any Giant store anymore and will let my friends know of my experience there. That's too bad because I spent over $200 on my first visit there and probably would have spent much, much more if they could do any basic services. Frustrated! read more

This past weekend was my second time participating in a group ride with Carol at Giant. The first weekend was really just a lesson in gears and basic safety and road rules. I actually just borrowed a friend's mountain bike for that class and luckily most of it took place in a nearby parking lot. This past weekend I rented a road bike and we met at the shop at 6 a.m. You can find the meetup information on Meetup.com. It's broken into two groups, beginners and intermediate. My friend, Jennifer L., and I road with Carol and it was just the two of us. She's a great teacher and very patient and full of information. I knew after the first ride that I was hooked and Carol showed me a couple of entry level bikes that would fit my needs. Since I am new to the cycling world I can't speak too much on pricing, but as far as beginner bikes and having looked around in the last couple of weeks, Giant's pricing was much less in comparison to a couple of other stores I went to. They also offer financing with no interest deals. Obviously, they carry all the necessary gear and accessories as well. No matter what part of the valley you are in this store is worth checking out! read more

I'm fairly new to Mountain biking. I was managing with my old hard tail through some of the local trails when I decided that I need to have some extra tools with me in case of an emergency. I stopped into Giant and spoke to Frank, who got me all set up. He didn't try to up sell me on unnecessary equipment. He explained multiple emergency repairs with the tools I had been picking up. I finally decided it was time to upgrade because my bike was outdated and not performing the way I needed it to. I was upset that I felt the employee was short and annoyed with my question during their busy times. In hindsight I was probably overly sensitive and prob should not have been upset. Incredible experience !!! I walked into the store with my bike due a rough ride. As soon as I walked in, Ray literally stopped what he was doing and came to me to ask me what he can do for me. He took my bike, looked at it and within seconds after visual inspection told me exactly what the problem was, not looking to make money but just to help out.
