my favorite is their cold brew with oatmilk. This drink made me like oatmilk. I would wait in that hot line for 20 mins just for this drink. I'm not waiting longer than that. Cookies and cakes are super yummy but they're just oversized cookies and cakes. They're good, but as a home baker, I can make some myself that will satisfy my craving. Gideon's is a true must visit spot in Central Florida. I recommend visiting their East End location before braving the new flagship store in Disney Springs because the wait times are next level. Gideon's has the MOST delicious cookies and a bunch of other items as well. The cookies are iconic and completely unforgettable because they are domed and covered in chocolate chips. They're constantly offering new menu items and flavors everything I have ever tried there has been AMAZING. I highly recommend trying their OG chocolate chip cookie, as I think it's the best one. Always delicious and fun to come to Gideons. I have been going for years now before they had their other locations. The cookies are huge! Definitely worth the price and sometimes I can't even eat one in a sitting! My favorite is the cookies and cream one! They usually have seasonal cookies that will change. I was told I had to come here being the sweets lover that I am and for all the times that I get to bake. I am very particular about sweets because there are certain elements that I look for. Gideon ranks high up there in achieving the right balance of sweetness. Some places overload you and it just feels like sugar on top of sugar. It was not the case here. I got the maple walnut chocolate cake slice and the pistachio toffee cookie. I unwrapped this at home to find that it was a walnut chocolate chip instead, so that was disappointing. Maybe if they didn't have them all wrapped first we both could have seen that she grabbed the wrong one. The cake slice had this subtle amount of depth of richness without being overpowering. The cake texture was just the right amount of fluffy and moistness. The frosting complemented the cake very well, usually I scrape it off but hd it together. The walnuts added another element of texture and saltiness that I appreciated too. I ask myself if I had to order cake for someone or myself would I get it from here, and the answer for this place is absolutely yes! read more

Indulgent, fudgy, and thicccck!! These cookies are almost a cross between a brownie and fudge that are jammed packed with chocolate chips. What brings it over the edge for me are the little salt crystals that intermittently cuts through the sugary fantasy. Super delicious and one of a kind!! I had to get on the hype train with the new location that just opened up at Disney Springs, but decided to forgo the crowds and lines and ordered from their original store at the East End Market. I went with their original Chocolate Chip and the holiday edition Cookie von Krampus (all the menthe!!). Their Chocolate Chip is nothing like I ever had before and I can see why they have such a strong following. It was well balanced with extra, extra chocolate chips in every bite compared to your everyday cookie. The Cookie von Krampus was all minty and cool that for me was a stunner. What can be said about Gideon's that hasn't already been said? Well, not much... but after ordering a full cake from them for my wife's birthday I figured I needed to throw in my two cents. Everybody knows about the cookies - they're large, soft, filled with flavor, and often unique. I haven't had one that I didn't like. Their rainbow crunch cake took it to the next level. It was massive, loaded with marshmallow icing and perfectly soft cake, and overall fantastic. Now, at the price point of $72 you have to keep in mind you're getting a ton of cake, but also that it's probably best for special occasions. This really is one of the most impressive cakes I've ever had. They say on their website that the cake can feed up to 20 people, and I think that's 100% accurate. It goes without saying that I'll be back (many times), and it'll most likely be at this location due to a less intimidating line and wait than the Disney Springs location. read more

To be honest, I probably never would have tried this place unless if it wasn't for all the other yelpers going here and leaving recent reviews for it. It's a bit of a drive for me but I told my husband last week that we should take the drive and check it out. As we pulled into the parking lot on the opposite end of the east end market, we saw a long line and assumed that was the line to enter the bakery. We must have waited outside about 20 minutes before going in. And then we realized that that line was for another counter. The entrance for the bakery was actually on the side. Luckily she let us order some cookies real quick. Maybe because she saw our 2 year old son and felt sympathetic for him. But that was very nice of her. Why is there such a long line at Disney springs? It's the new cookie shop that has opened up and drawing crowds! When I tried to get in, it was a 1hr 30min wait just to join the virtual wait list, then another 20 min wait to get to the front of the line. But honestly it was all worth it. The decor inside is definitely eccentric and you have to make a point just to get inside. The cookies though are bomb. They are huge, overloaded with toppings, and extremely delicious. We couldn't help but order 4 for ourselves and our friends. We got the peanut butter, pistachio and toffee, and the two holiday exclusives. Every cookie was amazing but I would say the normal fare was better than the holiday exclusive, which turned out to be too overly strong in taste and flavor. You should definitely go here! It is a very soft cookie, almost tasting like a cupcake.. but a little more dense. (It has been 3 days and I still have about half of the cookie left, go figure). It isn't anything special, apart from it being a giant cookie and covered in choc chips. Environment This is inside East end market. Very small storefront. Just buy and leave. I love the decoration and the look of it. There is a shelf that has all the flavors for the day. There were 6 flavors. Mainly just buy to go. My favorite is the banana bread chocolate chip and the cookie and cream is a classic. Best to eat within 2-3 days before it looses its moisture. As a pastry chef, I tend to judge a bakery based on what I call 'standard' bakery items. In addition to this I compare to other bakeries I have been to and loved. I purchased 3 cookies, chocolate chip, banana chocolate chip and crumb cake, monthly special. I loved the chocolate chip cookie. Crunchy on the outside and soft and gooey in the middle. There was no wait in the early afternoon when we were there. We were able to choose any cookies we wanted and there were no sell outs. This was during the week though. Cookies galore! If you love big chunky cookies with a soft cookie-dough like center, then this spot is for you! These cookies are not for the faint of heart. Each one is heavy, large, and about half a pound. Definitely something you shouldn't finish by yourself in one sitting, although you might be tempted to. They're similar to Levain cookies if you've had them before. While I personally prefer Levain's flavor & texture better, these are still tasty and worth a try! If you're at Disney Springs location, you'll need to go and then join a virtual queue for a time to go back. Don't love the system, but I get that demand is high and you'd have to wait regardless. At least this lets you roam around while you're waiting! Note that if you want the limited special edition cookies, they likely will sell out so you'll want to try to get there early in the day. Cookies are a bit pricey at $6, but for the size, it's understandable. I liked both the classic chocolate chip and pistachio chocolate chip toffee cookies and that they top it with sea salt. However, I wish they had a little less chocolate chips and more cookie. Overall, tasty and a great cookie spot to try when you're in the area. read more

I am a HUGE Gideon's Bakehouse fan, usually waiting in a long line at their Disney Springs location. I have always found it well worth the wait. After a wait in the Disney Springs line, earlier in the week, we decided to try the East End Market location. The market is tiny and this Gideon's location is as small as it could be. The wonderful thing about this location is that there was no wait and had many more options for purchase! Luckily, I went on a Wednesday which is the day they have a specialty cookie at this location only. I bought another 6 cookies to take home and freeze (to ration during the year, until I return to the Orlando area). We also purchased 4 cake slices which we tried that evening! The Golden Oreo and the Marshmallow Chocolate Chip were the best! While you're there, check out the other shops and businesses in the market! They have some neat stuff! We had heard a ton of raving reviews of this bakehouse and we could not WAIT to give it a try!! Located inside an indoor food hall that had some really unique restaurants and it's very easy to make out Gideon's because there is a consistent line!! It looked like they also offer order pickup as well if you are in a rush. The cookies they offered were really well sized and some unique flavors! The line was long but went by super fast so it took maybe 5-7 minutes tops to get to the register. They have the cookies displayed in a glass case so we also had an idea of what we wanted beforehand. I am a sucker for a good Oreo cookie and my husband got the banana bread cookie. There was also a plethora of cakes but we were huge fans of the flavor (most were red velvet) so we opted for just the two cookies. I absolutely devoured my cookie but my husband wasn't a huge fan of his. There were some fairly large sea salt chunks on his cookie that didn't really being the cookie together so he didn't like it very much. All in all would go back and try another kind! I believe they have a rotating assortment so I would imagine the next time we're in Florida there will be more to try!! read more

I've been on Crumbl for so long, I didn't any other cookie would compete. These cookies are huge. Half pound cookies to be exact. Pack with flavor & toppings. So far my favorite cookie is pistachio chocolate chip. This cookie has the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. I also tried their Red velvet cookie. I am glad I put aside my skeptic thoughts and got the cake. It was soft, moist and had the right amount of icing. Overall this is a great place to get cookies. You might have to wait in a line, but it is worth it. Also, if you get 3 or more cookies you get a nice box that has a card with a character name. There's also a story for that character. I have heard a lot of hype about Gideon's and decided I finally needed to try them out for myself. Right now, they are allowing you to preorder cookies a day prior with no minimum amount due to COVID-19 which is very appreciated! We put in an order on a Friday to pick up on Saturday. The ordering process online was super easy. We headed to East End Market during our chosen time slot and were in and out. Everyone was wearing their masks and we had paid online already so it was a quick pickup. Upon returning home, I wasted no time opening up the box so we could try these delicious looking and smelling cookies! The cookies are huge just like they appear in all of the pictures you see on social media and their website. We ordered a classic chocolate chip cookie, a peanut butter crunch cookie, and a chocolate toffee pistachio cookie. I cut each one into quarters and personally can only eat a quarter at a time in one sitting. These are dense, rich, amazing tasting cookies! The cookies are loaded with toppings in each and every bite and are nice and soft in the middle. Each of these had a light touch of what I assume is sea salt that really balanced out the sweetness of the cookie. I couldn't really pick a favorite; each of these three flavors were off the chain delicious! The cookies are $5 each which while this is a bit steep for a cookie, the fact that I can eat off of one four different times makes it worth it along with the high quality. I've never found a cookie like this in any store, so it's worth the price tag for a special occasion in my opinion. I promised on my next trip to Orlando that I'd stop at this well-known place to bring back their delicious-looking cookies. I kept that promise. On our way home back to Jacksonville, I was able to stop by Gideon's and pick-up my next day order. Currently during the COVID-19 pandemic they're offering any orders made one day can be picked up the following day and there's no limit to how many cookies you can order at one time. I preordered 6 Original Chocolate Chip, 6 Triple Chocolate Chip, and 3 of their July special, Coffee Toffee Chocolate Chip. They were ready at my scheduled time and the staff member working the counter was so pleasant. I knew that these cookies were about 1/2 pound but I still didn't wrap my head around the fact that all of them carried together made it heavy. Holy crap. Made it back to the car, unwrapped one cookie to see if the rumors were true. It was beautiful! Super-loaded with chocolate chips and it smelled delicious. I broke off a small piece and put it in my mouth...it melted in my mouth. I love how this cookie was baked, not crispy but like they said "like cookie dough". Perhaps the best cookie I've ever had. My man tasted it too and agreed. My mom and coworkers were gonna love it and the following day I brought them to work and let them choose a cookie. All agreed that they was fantastic.
