Delicious cookies - much better than chains like crumbl! I've visited this location once or twice and definitely prefer it to the Disney location since there's such a shorter wait! We only had two people ahead of us and waited about 5-8 minutes u til we were assisted. Our cookie handler was super kind and knowledgeable in explaining the cookies. I tried the butterscotch cookie butter cookie which was so rich and delectable. You definitely need to share these cookies or save them for multiples sittings - they are big and very rich. I have tried the pistachio chocolate and coffee cake cookies before and all are delicious. I'd love to try the cakes in the future.
Came to East End Market to eat and ended up stopping to grab some cookies. I always heard of this bakehouse but never got the chance to try it. Ordered the chocolate chip, ore and banana bread chocolate cookies! All big thick size cookies! Freshly baked and good!
I somehow must be living under a rock because apparently this brand of cookies is super popular and I now get the hype. I was told that if you go to the location in Disney Springs that there's always a super long line but thankfully at this location, there was no line at all. The set up is very cute in East End market and it's super yummy. I ordered the banana bread chocolate chip and a limited edition one. All so great, but I especially loved the banana bread one. The cookies are huge and so delicious. Will definitely get more if I'm back in town.
Yum! What a cool concept in ambience for a cookie shop. I love a good witchy vibe. Not to mention the cookies are massive. We came to Easton market for other things, but had to stop at Gideon's for a cookie. We did not eat it on the spot, but ended up bringing it home and heating it up. The cookie was delicious - soft & chocolatey. The staff was quick to get our order at the establishment and there was a line behind us indicating it was a popular choice. Looking forward to trying more options and potentially their cake next time.
If you're looking for a rich indulgent cookie, head to Gideon's but be warned the lines can be super long. When I came to Disney Springs two years ago, I skipped Gideon's as the line was wrapped around a couple corners. This year, I was able to finally try them as the line was only to the end of the block. The line moves quickly which was nice but it ended up being about 20 minutes. The interior is very interesting and slightly creepy - it's giving Tim Burton. Things to know: 1) at the end of the line, there's a staff member with the menu that you can keep, 2) they limited it to 8 cookies per person, 3) there's a morning and an evening special cookie that runs out and is not remade, 4) there's also cakes and coffee drinks, and 5) there's trading cards if you order a 6 pack. The cookies are about 1.5 inches thick and are soft and chewy. I would say they are on par with levain in nyc and would definitely stop by if the line was less than 30 minutes.
It is no secret that Gideons is viral. We tried to go at Disney Springs a few days before but the line just to join the line was outrageous so we skipped it. Instead we went to the East End Market location which was a much better experience in my opinion. We got there around opening on a Thursday morning. There were a few people ahead of us but it only took about five minutes to get through the line. Much more manageable and way less stressful. We ordered four cookies. Two were limited edition which were the cookies and cream and the coffee cake. We also got the original chocolate chip and the pistachio toffee. Everything came out to about $28-30 with tip. Overall I think it is a great cookie. They are certainly dense in a sense but don't taste too indulgent. I do not know if it fully lives up to the hype which is where they lose a star. Still a fun experience and I wish them all the best. I would like to know that there isn't any seating at this location. However, there are a lot of benches that exists right outside the market.
Hands down best cookies in town, but they need to keep their game up as SummerHouse has a few good ones too. I'm normally instantly greeted and they answer all my questions. It always smells so good that it's hard to make a decision. I try to go for the limited edition flavors. Remember that it's only 2 per person when it comes to those. Keep up the good creativity and delicious treats. Don't forget to check out their candles. They smell just as great as the seasonal flavors.
I feel like this was probably the best cookie I ever had. I'm a huge cookie lover and when I heard about this place, I had to try it out! There was a line out the door on a Sunday afternoon but it moved quickly and I was too excited to really notice. The place itself has such a Cool vibe. Old books and decor. Reminded me of like St. Augustine or New Orleans vibes. Loved it! The employee was kind and knowledgeable on the products. I felt like the prices were fair and the taste was delicious and honestly hard to beat! I will absolutely be back!
This place has been on my list for AGES!!! we were finally close to Orlando after coming back from our cruise so we stopped by. This is the cutest little place and it's definitely giving Harry Potter vibes. I loved all of the decorations. We got there when they opened and we're greeted promptly. We tried four different cookies and all of them were AMAZING.
This is Orlando's gothic cookie company with the hugest cult following, though I'm not sure if non-Disney and non-Orlando people know much about them. This location is housed inside some small food hall type of building, and I was a bit surprised to see no one in line. Now I will say that I was pretty underwhelmed by these cookies, but as you can see, I had to wait a couple of days to eat the original chocolate chip, so I'm willing to give them another try. Another blunder was that the employee got my order wrong, even though she repeated the flavors I wanted properly. So, she ended up inserting a flavor that I did not want or like at all. If I'm buying expensive cookies, I feel like you should at least get my flavors right. The cookies didn't taste very buttery to me. They almost tasted like a mouthful of hardened dough and sugar. I surprisingly enjoyed the peanut butter crunch the most, though I wonder if it's because I ate that one very soon after receiving it (though none of them were warm). I had to wait an extra half day before eating the other ones, since I bought them right before my flight back home. I don't think half a day should have that much effect on the degradation of a cookie. I do appreciate how cool they look in the box, and how carefully wrapped and designed they are. You also get some Tim Burton art style trading cards with your purchase! They were neat souvenirs, so I'll hopefully have a better experience next time.
Craving a good cookie? There is no other place to get your cookie fix. I've been visiting here for years and love trying all the new flavors for the different holidays. This shop is located inside the East End Market, and while at times the parking can get pretty crazy, persevere because it's worth it. There is a line that starts at the front counter and goes around the corner and out the side door to the building if need be. Just know that certain cookies do sell out. Over the Halloween season I really enjoyed the Frankenstein cookie and Bride of Frankenstein. The Frankenstein cookie was like double chocolate and the Bride of Frankenstein is the blonde version. You also can never go wrong with the OG chocolate chip cookie. These cookies are huge and worth the cost. Something good to nibble on over the course of a couple days. I also appreciate the aesthetic. The library feel plus the merch being sold like yummy smelling candles.
I've had Gideon's many a time over the years- as gifts. Finally. It was my turn. On the rainy day I happened to be in Disney Springs, I saw the line- for the first time- a reasonable length. After our *unusually* fast wait, I finally entered the world of Gideon. It was spookier than I anticipated but still so amazing. My only complaint was their options of cookies. They have a good variety, but traditional of a bake house, they change. Alas, my trip to Gideon's was long awaited and very enjoyed.
I have loved Gideon's for years as one of my favorite cookies and bakeries ever. This however is the first time I got over to the East End Market location to try them out. I love this little spot way more than the location in Disney Springs just based on the ability to get in line and it not take hours. We stopped in quick towards the end of the night hopeful for some of their special stuffed sugar cookies but we were too late in the day. No worries though because we ended up getting a few cookies, a slice of their rainbow cake, a candle, and a bag of their cookie bites. The candle smells just like banana bread which is amazing. The cake was dreamy and had the perfect amount of frosting. The cookies and cream cookie is my favorite and it never disappoints. The cookie bites are a newer favorite for just a quick little snack. Plus they are chocolate covered so how can you go wrong? This might be the best (and fastest) way to get cookies from Gideon's in Florida. I will definitely be back to this location next time I am in town. (Also quick PSA: If you plan on traveling with the candle, keep it out of your bag in airport security so they can check it out for you the easy way!)

Long line!!!!!! Always!!!!! Cookies are OK but for that wait naw I don't think so I have had better..........when you walk in its a very small cramped bakery you have no time to really look at anything because your being moved like cattle the whole time.i bought 3 different kinds of cookies from the January menu.Original Chocolate Chip, Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip, and then the banana bread with white chocolate chips . The one that taste good to me was the Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip. The cookies are pretty big .4 cookies and 2 drinks for about $43 read more

Well we had heard so much about Gideon's that we decided to try it when our family met in Orlando for a fun filled week. Gideon's was essentially our first stop. We'd preordered online and we got five cookies to share, trying four of their flavors - pistachio chocolate toffee, chocolate chip, triple chocolate, cookies and cream. We were all amazed by how large and thick the cookies were. With that said, they were almost too massive to bite into easily and enjoy. They got stale after the first day. Even though we shared the cookies, I don't think we finished any of them. I am glad that we tried this place but it wouldn't be a spot we would return to over and over again for a simple cookie. Great and quaint location. A nice alternate to skipping the huge lines at Disney Springs. Fast and friendly service. We waited about 5 minutes. Real Orlando natives know that you can skip Disney Springs and get Gideon's cookies at East End Market. The shop is decked out in their signature theme and always has an excellent selection of treats. The line can be long, but they move fast. The staff are friendly, quick, and helpful. They have merchandise and treats galore. I always get their classic chocolate chip cookie. They're at least a quarter pound of gooey goodness. The chocolate chips are dense with flaky sea salt and the cookie is cakey and moist. All of their flavors are amazing. I love their peanut butter crips cookie as well. Another great spot in the East End Market and a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth. After ordering Rion's, I stood in line for Gideon's and it was definitely a hot commodity that Saturday afternoon. Before ordering, they have a display of their cookies and everything looked so good. These cookies are infamous and I've been wanting to try them for years. The guy in front of me was ordering his heart out - and I didn't realize they even offer a bag of mini chocolate chip cookies. However, I came for the star of the show - the regular size cookies. I ordered the pistachio toffee chocolate chip and banana bread chocolate chip. The employee at the front had great energy and conversation. I really enjoyed talking with her as I ordered. So for the pistachio toffee - I loved the pieces of toffee intertwined with bits of pistachio and chocolate chips. As rich as the cookie looks and heavy as the cookie is, it's actually not overly sweet and is so good. The banana bread cookies taste like a piece of chocolate banana bread. It was so good especially the pieces of candied walnuts too. I split the cookies in 4 pieces so my parents and I could each sample and savor this sweet baked treat. Each cookie was $6. They sell other treats like cake, and Gideon's merchandise. Highly recommend this location! read more
BEST COOKIES EVER!! We were skeptical, but these cookies are truly worth the hype. Waited in line in the rain and it was very worth it (the line did move pretty quickly though). This is a great spot to come if you don't want to wait in the typically long line at Disney Springs. I've had little to no wait here. We came this time for the Stuart and Bonnie's pop up, and everything was awesome. The Cuban Gelato Sandwich lived up to what I thought it would be. We additionally stopped by the storefront to get the snowman Christmas card with the sugar cookie purchase. The staff from the popup and the store were both amazing as always. read more

The key to this place is timing. I don't mean the cookies / cakes will taste different but what I mean is the wait time. I like to come first thing in the morning so to avoid the rush which can wrap around outside. The cookies are always too fresh and delicious. My favorite is the banana nut cookie but they are all equally as good just depends on your preference. Most people skip it but if you want a decadent delicious cake, make sure to grab one. The bakery shop leaves you in suspense because you want to know what's behind the door and what it look like inside. When you walk in it's dark and the decor is amazing. The detail of all the paintings and the pictures on the wall was amazing. The cookies smelled so good. They were so soft and delicious. I've never had a cookies like this before they're huge. We bought six cookies and tasted them all and we were not disappointed. The line is so long but it moves really fast. This review is LONG overdue! One of my favorite spots in Orlando. The cookies are amazing! The cakes are scrumptious & the pop up desserts are delicious as well. The lines can get long, but it's definitely worth it! The parking is not as ample as it should be, but there are a few other restaurants & businesses at this location. The staff is great & helpful. I love the ambience. Disney Springs location is great as well. You should get there early though because it is always busy! Busses of groups get there first, but also, definitely worth the wait. They offer coffee & the 2nd location which isn't available at the original location because it's from one of their neighbors. DS location is bigger & more elaborate. 20m wait on a Sat night at 10:30pm. Love the cute spooky decor inside the store! Cookies were super filling and rich in chocolate chips. It was almost overwhelming bc it felt like I was eating a ball of chocolate chips! The cookie I ordered was soooooo good! It was sea salt caramel and nut, and it was somehow decadent and also not too sweet... Wish I had ordered more than one or that Gideons delivered! The shop I visited was really small and inside a mall type area so I can't speak to the ambiance. read more

Way overhyped thanks to social media. The idea is great! But the actual cookies are straight up dough, more like a huge cakeball. The dough is very undercooked and the cookies are huge. So when you bite into them is nothing but dough- so if you are a cakeball lover you'll love these. But to a legit cookie lover these lack the crunch and honestly the flavor one craves from a regular cookie because the dough taste is very similar to each other. To make a long story short, I don't live anywhere near Florida. But about three years ago, I spotted a cookie covered in dots and couldn't help but ask, "What is that? Is it edible? Can I have some?" From that moment, I was hooked. I even went to Gideon's Bakehouse the very next day. Fast forward to this trip: I saw they had a Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie made with Andes mints. As an avid chocolate-and-mint fan, I knew I had to get one (or maybe a few--don't judge, lol). And let me tell you, that cookie was worth every one of the 697 pennies I spent. Absolutely delicious! Now, I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the whole occult symbolism they lean into--it's something I choose to overlook to satisfy this cookie craving (shaking my head at myself, lol). But overall, the experience was smooth. We were able to go in and out with almost no wait time, which was amazing, especially compared to the stories I've heard about the Disney Springs location where you'd wait practically all day. I make sure to stop at Gideon's Bakehouse every time I'm in Disney Springs, and it never disappoints! A lot of people mention the long lines, but in my experience (four visits so far), the wait has always been reasonable and absolutely worth it. The cookies are incredible some of the best I've ever had. They offer tons of flavors and fun specials, but honestly, their classic chocolate chip is so good that I can't resist getting it every single time. I also tried their limited-edition banana bread cookie recently, and it was amazing. When you go inside, it is small, but they fill the space beautifully with artwork and these dark vibes that it is truly unique experience If you're in the area and get the chance to go, I highly recommend it. Gideon's Bakehouse at Disney Springs was WELL WORTH the 15 minute wait! My boyfriend and I had never heard of Gideon's, but, as we wandered around Disney Springs, we were drawn to the long line out front. Long lines are usually there for a reason, and Gideon's did not disappoint! Staff handed us a menu while we waited in line, so we were ready by the time the two large double doors were opened for us to enter! As soon as we stepped foot inside we were embraced with the sweet smell of freshly baked cookies. The store was decorated with all kinds of oddities and had a sign which boasted half pound cookies! The sign was no joke; staff reassured us that each cookie is weighed before being sold. They had numerous flavors to choose from, as well as huge pieces of cake! We ordered the banana bread chocolate chip cookie and the pistachio toffee chocolate chip cookie. Both were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Each bite was packed full of yummy bits of chocolate and banana or pistachio. The flavors were to die for and the 1/2 pound cookies lasted us three days! The cookies came in a beautiful box with a collectors card inside. Something interesting about Gideon's is that their menu changes throughout the day - they have a sunrise and sunset speciality cookie! From start to finish, our experience at Gideon's was excellent! We will definitely return on any future trips to Orlando. read more
Okay, HOW CAN A COOKIE BE THIS GOOD?! I don't have a crazy sweet tooth either but this place makes me want to fly back to Florida for more. I'm so glad I got 3 instead of 1 like I originally planned. The cookies are HUGE, and they make regular cookies like some thin cracker. They are soft, savory, not overly sweet and give you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. If you're in the area, this is a MUST BUY BOX OF COOKIES type of place. You will also need to line up outside as this place gets packed, so if you're already waiting in line for it, might as well get 2 or 3 boxes at that point. read more

Most amazing bakery ever! I stopped here because everyone in town was talking about Gideons amazing cookies.They are delicious and delightful. I got a piece of the peanut butter cup cake and it was light, fluffy, and had the perfect sweetness. Absolute Perfection! I also got the banana bread chocolate cookie and it's officially my favorite cookie ever. The triple chocolate cookie, wow! It's basically fudge in a cookie form. The chocolate chip cookies were amazing too. You have to experience Gideons. It's hard to put in words , it's amazing! I'm about to move to Orlando just for Gideons lol. We came on the weekend to east end market and it was packed! There was a line for these cookies! Everything looked so good and the desserts are all huge! I love the dark aesthetic and packaging of everything here. I got three cookies, Pb chocolate chip, double chocolate, and chocolate chip. Wow all of these were amazing. Very decadent and delicious. One cookie is like 4 small cookies. If you haven't tried them out yet you need to! I can't wait to go back and try the other flavors or cakes! read more
