Terrible customer service, no one knows anything about the product you are selling at the counter. I went there a couple of times, I ask questions for allergy purpose; I always get a rude attitude with no satisfying answer "sugar, egg, ​and dough" always the same answer. This place SUCKS. I have already been to this place half a dozen times. Today is the last and final time I'm ever coming back here. I spent $12 on items at this place. I wanted to move my seat because whatever idiot decided to turn the f*cking A/C on when it's 50 degrees outside. I was f*cking cold! As I was trying to move my seat my iced coffee and iced water dropped on the floor. They would not give me another iced coffee because they said it was MY FAULT that it dropped. Firstly, it was an accident. Secondly, I would have NEVER dropped my items had they not turned the A/C to 20 degrees causing me to f*cking shiver. Because these CHEAP A**ES did not wanna spare another cup for iced coffee and another cup for iced water they have lost a customer FOR LIFE. I spent A LOT OF MONEY at cafes. This place is phenomenally perfect in every sense of the word. They have some of the best pastries I've ever had. Their cream cheese custard and Portuguese egg tarts are my absolute favorites. The prices are incredible, especially considering how good the pastries are. If this place were in Manhattan the prices would be 2-3 times what they are here. Always, a good spot to grab a coffee and something savory or sweet. Usually frequent this bakery mid morning for a large hot coffee with just milk and a hun or two. Buns are bigger than you find at other bakeries so the $1.25 or $1.50 is about right. Baked tuna buns: nice pillowy bread with a nice tuna filling with a hint of seasoning. Baked Roast Pork Bun: pillowy bread filled with a sweet and savory porky oniony filling. Fried Chicken Bun: would be better if they were served warm. Ham and cheese bread...very filling and would be better if served warm. But, with hot tea this goes down well. If you are in the neighborhood...pop in and grab a bun or two. Stumbled upon this bakery. I have only tried a few things from here: the egg custard, the cocktail bun and the pineapple bun. The egg portion of the egg custard was a bit too "hard" for me. The cocktail bun was dry and the fillings weren't sweet enough. Not the best I had. Same with the pineapple bread. Bread was dry and the topping was very bland. That is not to say that this bakery doesn't have any promise. I just haven't found their best item yet. On the flip side, the staff is friendly and attentive. read more

We love the egg tarts and the roast pork bun, which is huge, flavorful, and not too fatty. We've also ordered custom mango sponge cakes for two birthdays now, both of which got rave reviews. I'm SO glad Gigi's opened up! I grew up on these bakeries and anytime I crave an iced coffee I always search for the nearest bakery. Despite it being in bay ridge I always find parking and am out in less than a few minutes. The fact that they have a younger staff that speaks English makes it much easier for me to communicate how light I like my coffee. My personal fave is the coconut custard and triangle cake. All I can say is this place is very clean and amazing, pastries are so good especially the Portuguese egg tarts. It's made freshly everyday, it's not too sweet and melts right in your mouth! Cutest place! I pass by the bakery on my way to work everyday and have been meaning to go in. Was pleasantly surprised. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly and I got lost in all the cute decor. Found this gem couple days ago. I'm around the area pretty often and had no idea they were reopened. I usually have to drive out to 8th ave for Chinese bakeries but thank God for Gigis! Went last Saturday for the first time to get portugese tarts but they ran out. Thankfully they were already baking their next batch and told me I could reserve some and pick it up later (which I did) and honestly it was love at first bite! My other absolute favorite is the red bean swirl bun- I love that it's so fluffy, light, and less sweeter than the other bakeries. Their drink selection is also great and were very accommodating to what I wanted/didn't want in the drinks (sugar adjusting/milk replacement etc).The staff is super sweet and patient. After reading so many good reviews I had to see if they were true or just some friends writing good reviews for a new business. The result - I was pleasantly surprised. I went there for breakfast, there was an excellent selection and it all looked fresh. I had a pork bun and my daughter had the chicken bun. Both were excellent as was my iced coffee. Love everything about this bakery from its cute decor to friendly workers. I come by here a few days a week and have tried almost all their drinks, the passionfruit bubble tea being my favorite. All I have to say is that, it's about time we got a decent Chinese bakery in Bay Ridge. I love stopping by this place. I got there roasted pork bun, chest nut cake, and coffee. I was really hoping to love this place, I used to work in Dyker where these bakeries are on every corner and was so excited to see one finally open in Bay Ridge where I now work.. but was disappointed. I was there on a Thursday morning around 7:30AM, the selections in the case were like 3 different types of buns. I got the roast pork one and it was doughy and undercooked. I also got the iced coffee and my 3 pieces of ice completely melted before I even left the place. The pictures on here show a full delicious array of buns and egg tarts, I guess maybe I was there too early, cause the cases were empty. The girl at the register was super nice but noone else in there even makes eye contact with you. I was completely ignored so I had to order my bun with the girl at the register and she had to tell the other woman to get it for me. Not feeling the love from this place, plus it's super expensive compared to the other bakeries. I know it's bay ridge and they have to pay the rent but $3.50 for an iced coffee (with no ice??) I drove here from a Sunset Park to try this place out. I know they are a new business and I wanted to support them. It was an early Sunday morning, just after 9am. When I got there, everything looked nice and I was trying to make a choice of what I wanted. There was a push to get me to make the purchase and get out. I took my time because I was coordinating with someone on the phone as to what to get. Then when I finally made our selection, it was less than the the 10$ ... come to find out there is 10$ minimum required to use my debit card. Asking me to spend more money at your store is bad business. I'm not going to buy something I won't eat. Find another way. As a business owner I get that you have to pay fees... but guess what... don't make the customer have to pay the difference. Find another way. I've been to establishments where they ring me for the minimum (10$) and then give me the difference in cash. Use some sense. I will never come to this place again. My time, my gas, to come out of my way to support your business will never happen again. Kids running the counter will let the customers walk out and you will loose business... this is why businesses fail. read more
