I been looking for a hairstylist and went here as a recommendation from a good friend. She said Kevin is the best, quick, efficient & does clean work. Well, that was true! I called day of & I got an appointment an hour later. He washed my hair, gave me a long layered haircut & blow dry/styled my hair. Pricing was fair for what he offers & he's no frills. It seemed they relocated across the street idk if it's temporary but once I entered the solan it was super bright and nice atmosphere. The guy who did my hair was super nice! I asked for a butterfly (Sabrina Carpenter) haircut and instead I got 4 inches of my hair cut off, and curled ends. I didn't get the haircut I asked for and my layers came out choppy. When my hair was straightened no heat protectant was used. I went home washed my hair and dried it only to notice the top layers are too thick and it gives me a coconut head shape. I'm disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this salon if you have curly:wavy hair. read more

New to the area and needed a new stylist and colorist. Found Kevin on yelp and saw great reviews. I am so glad I trusted Kevin to do my hair! My hair was rough and brittle like straw, had no shape and the old color was grown out. I showed a picture and asked for a low maintenance balayage with my roots left their natural color so when it grows out it still looks good. I also asked for face framing layers as well as getting rid of my fried ends. He understood and is very easy to communicate with. He makes sure you are getting exactly what you want! He delivered above and beyond! I am extremely delighted with the results. The pictures cannot fully capture how amazing it looks! My hair is so soft and pretty now! He was also kind enough to take me as a walk-in client, I called first and showed up approximately 40 minutes later as agreed. No wait time. Was able to schedule a cut the day I called, and Kevin did an awesome job! Just wanted a simple trim to get rid of dead ends and do some subtle curtain bangs, Kevin did a whole wash, cut, and blow out in less than 40 minutes! Would you believe me if I told you this cost me under $100?!!! I love it! Kevin did an amazing job! In these pandemic times, we still out here wanting to look good but we ballin on a budget ! I just so happen to come here because my girls needed a trim and we were due for pedicures. Since we were in the area eating at Osakas...I pulled up the nearest hair and nail salon in the area and Gigi's popped up. I browsed through the pics and was like...dang he does a pretty good job. Note: I went from black black hair to blonde on the first appointment. Usually if your hair is dark, it will take a couple visits or more to get to the blonde you desire. It was a Goldilocks blonde so I knew I'll need to come back to lift more color. On the second visit, Kevin lightened it up more and it was exactly what I wanted to achieve! I'm giving this 3 stars based on my 4 star pedi and 2 star mani. I went here because of the highest reviews in the east Mission Valley area. I go in and they were very personable, a big plus. They even had massage chairs for the pedicure which was really nice. I was served coffee as well. All pluses. The pedicure went well enough. She was a bit rough on the filing but it didn't ruin my experience. After it was done I did notice some bumps on the nail bed. None of which I'll take picture evidence of because I hate feet, man. Even my own. But I picked a dark color, so I don't really mind. The manicure however was...not good. It wasn't cleaned up so well, parts of the nail weren't evenly painted and a couple nails were crooked. (See photos) Not to mention a few nails were jagged. Look, I understand using a really dark color is going to show all your flaws, but for $30 I better see little to none. I feel she was rushed because people were walking in and they were understaffed, so they had to keep it moving. I get it, but honestly I will not be coming back as I've had other salons do a much more meticulous and careful job, and took the time to clean their mistakes thoroughly. read more

I have been cutting my hair with Hiep/Kevin before he moved his shop here! He knows how to cut my hair really well. You can't beat the price here also! Since the quality of haircut is high and price is low, I make sure to tip my barber really well everytime. How many barber do SKIN FADE for $14? I don't think I know anyone do it for that price. Not just the good price but customer service is above and beyond. I have also had my haircut from the other barber also and he is just as good! Found this place randomly when my normal place was getting slammed. Got a gel pedi from Yen and Dee, they did a great job. They are such awesome people. They took me as a last minute walk in for a deluxe pedi and they were so gentle I was falling asleep in my chair. Definitely recommend for a good pedi and nice relaxing nap. read more

I have been to GIGIs for 3 years now and i love it their pricing is good and they are so nice and always have done a great job on my nails and they take their time also. I recommend them to anyone i meet in San Diego. Pricing wise a full set of gel acrylics is 35 and normal is 25 but you can add a gel top coat to anything for 5 dollars and does the same thing as gel. Spa pedicure is 20 and mani is 12. 5 stars from me every time. read more

I came in for a gel manicure and a basic pedicure. The prices are the best I've seen in the area. $20 for a gel manicure is almost unheard of nowadays. My fingernails were beautifully painted, but I was a little disappointed with a few things. When she finished painting my toenails, I had to ask her to clean up a few of them because the polish was touching the skin which made it look sloppy. After she cleaned it up, they looked perfect. What's great is she was so nice about it and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. Second thing, when I placed my hand in the UV light, the machine had sticky old polish that left my fingers with dried up pieces of clear polish. I peeled it all off after I left. Despite the mishaps, I would still come back due to the great service and affordable prices. read more

So I made an appointment for me and my cousin to get a full gel set and pedicure. Salon is small but very clean and Joe and Vikki were very welcoming. Perfect mani and pedi for great prices. Today I'm overdue for a haircut since pandemic. MY hair stylist is Kevin. He was very attentive and very details with my haircut. He was quick and gave me a simple long layers haircut and the price is so awesome! Shampoo and haircut and styles total $25! I usually get a hair cut by senior hairstylist at a different hair salon cost $120 so if youre usually curls your hair anyways and don't care about the texture of the layers on the ends then come here. I have a thick hair but I figure I've always curls my hair anyways so anyone can cut long layers. I Recommend bring a picture of the haircut you like and show to the hairdresser. I've been a regular here for two years (every two weeks) and I'm really sad to say goodbye after multiple chances. Vicky was amazing, and a few months ago there was new ownership and new employees but I decided to stay. One day, I put two and a half hours aside for a get manicure and pedicure. My manicure took a really long time and Lee did my pedicure and I was late to work so he was rushed, and one of my toes got ruined and I expressed that I was worried about being late but I still wanted it to be fixed. He fixed it in a hurry but I gave a good tip. From then on, Lee refused to give me service. Whenever the nice lady asked him to help, he straight up said 'no' and spoke in another language. Maybe they allow employees the right to refuse service but it was obvious that he was talking about me in another language. The manager Stephanie did not say anything to him about the manner in which he spoke nor did she address whether or not I still felt comfortable. The ladies seemed nice so I've been giving it another shot for months now and just avoided getting service from Lee. Today was the last I could take. I made an appointment 2 days ago but when I came in, they said they were backed up and the lady asked Lee if he could help get me set up. He still said 'no, I'm busy' and then she asked if I could wait 30 minutes, when she was just barely taking off the woman's previous gel manicure. There are three main things this establishment needs to work on 1) A staff member making clients feel uncomfortable talking about them and refusing service in a rude manner 2) Making sure appointments are being fulfilled 3) Being timely: It takes over one hour to get a gel manicure and two and a half hours to get a gel manicure and pedicure. read more
