I was in the store for 10 minutes after lunch (I'm sure the douche who was working would say I was there longer) While I was looking for beer, I called the ICU to get an update on my dad. As I was on hold and looking at the different beers, the dude starts yelling something about "you need help with something" in a reprimanding tone. He then told me that I had been there for too long and I needed to find my beer and go. He said that he needed to go in the back for something, and apparently I was getting in a way of whatever he needed to do. I've never had an experience like that before in my life. When I told him why I was making a phone call he said "so that's my fault" Unbelievable. I will never be back again and I will make sure that all my friends and family know how I was treated. read more

The guy at the counter was extremely disrespectful. He was on the phone the entire time during the transaction. Told my brother to get the hell out of his store. After telling him he didn't have to speak to my brother so disrespectful he told me "If you don't like how I run my store and talk to you, then you can get the fuck out too." After a terrible experience from another place nearby, I went to GCM to get my CO2 tank refilled. The lady at the counter was very friendly and volunteered to put the tank in their freezer so that they can put more CO2 in it. I browsed around for about 10 minutes while waiting. I asked them for recommendations on bourbon and the gentleman (I assume the owner) behind the counter showed me a few options and pointed out a bottle that was over $35 OFF (60% discount). He didn't try to sell me expensive bottles. He also said next time I come back he will open a bottle that I can sample. That was nice to hear. The tank was all filled when I was ready to check out. I paid by the weight of CO2 they put in the tank and not fixed price like the other place. The tank was filled properly and honestly. This experience was night and day. This will be my new go to place for CO2 refills and alcohol while I am there. I wonder why other reviews mention rude staff because that was definitely not the case for me. read more

Stopped in here to pick up some bourbon and like others on here, immediately encountered a man who was a total prick to me, and I heard him cussing at one of the people working for him. Good bourbon selection, but most are at higher than secondary prices (example Blanton's Original Single Barrel for $250). I like Belgian beer. Now, there are plenty of places around where one can find "The Hits", ie Chimay, Gulden Draak, Tripel Karmelit, etc. But here at GCM, you can find some really obscure treats. Some of them might be a little dusty since they've been on the shelf for a hot minute (or maybe like 7-8 years), but those are the ones that you want to grab because bottle-conditioned ales like these age really well. I was trying to find some Orval, which is one of my favorites. Total Wine doesn't seem to carry it anymore, and my little corner store doesn't have it, so I popped in here on a whim and... lo and behold... they were *well* stocked with it. Then, the next time I came in, the gentleman working remembered not only who I was, but what I had purchased, and put in an order for more Orval since they didn't have any that day. They also have a pretty fantastic selection of various liquors and wines as well. It's a really fantastic place, so you should come shop here. Treat yo'self! read more

I have purchased many kegs from GCM over the years. I went to return 3 kegs today and was told they would not honor my original deposit, refunding only half. The store clerks contacted the manager who was arrogant refused as well. I will not be returning. Too many other places that respect their loyal customers. read more

I never write reviews nor claim people are being disrespectful towards me as a woman but this man most definitely was sexist. Was so rude to me and my other cousins except for my guy cousin, telling him "youre definitely the only behaved person here, so quiet unlike these girls" yet we hadn't said a word to him. We used to shop here all the time. The owner passed away and when his sons took over they forgot about dad's costumer service. We purchase a Kiltlfter keg which ended up being bad. When we tried to exchange the full keg the sons told us they didn't make the beer. Hmmmm. I'm sure Nordstrom didn't make my shirt with the hole but they apologized and quickly replaced it. Total Wine has much better prices and most importantly, honest ethics and customer service! And it's convieniant too! read more

The store was a little cramped, the shelves were really close together. On that note, the liquor selection was excellent. I consider myself a rum and whiskey kind of guy, and I was blown away by the selection in both departments. The lady behind the counter was helpful and I really appreciate the prices. First of all I know the owners and they have a beautiful family. This is a local business and I try my best to support local. The selection and prices are always excellent and the vibe is always good. I don't think I've ever done a review on a convenient mart before but this one is different. I recommend everyone trying to go here and or shop locally. GCM never disappoints. The owner, Steven, is knowledgeable and friendly, and the store has a huge variety. And on those occasions they don't have the product in-store, they'll order it. Since I've been pregnant, I've gone in with some special requests, and three separate times Steven has placed a special order for me. He's been incredibly helpful with non-alcoholic beer recommendations (not the usual product request for a liquor store) and whiskey for my husband. I've been here multiple times and loved the selection however my interaction with one of the cashiers was appalling and insulting. After checking my ID he proceeded to comment on my appearance, then proceeded to ask very personal questions relating to my marital status, whether I had children or was going to have children. And then told me I was "old as hell" if I wanted to have children. He ended by stating that I was geriatric. Never in my life has a stranger ever asked such personal questions and then insulted me, after I made a purchase at his store. Tired of seeing the same ol' beer selection at our local grocery stores, we decided to head to GCM on Saturday night. Although our original intention was to get a growler filled and pick up a 6-pack, we brought a second growler just in case. Glad we did because not only in the beer selection on tap pretty massive, it's also pretty cheap. We got a couple trusty local brews that were $8.99/each (64 oz) but they had a few that were on sale for $4.99 and $5.99. Crazy! The aisles are small but the shelves are packed. So many great choices. The cold selection was pretty good too and they had the normal selection that you would find in the grocery but they also had some other non-common beers too...just what we were hoping for. The guys working were nice and service was good. (See my tip). Not quite sure why this place has $$$...It's not any more expensive than anywhere else. In fact, I think some of the beers were even cheaper here. However, if you want a single beer that's $15.99, you'll find that here as well. read more

To the girl with the bracelet story - really sorry to hear about that and I would be furious as well if that happened to me. Not going to downplay that situation.... To the guy complaining about the beer not being in coolers. Two things. One - there's a ton of craft beer back in the coolers. It's not all on the front shelves. Two - just about every amazing beer selection I've ever seen has been on regular store shelves, not in coolers. Many of the beers available there are in fact actually brewed to be consumed at room temperature. Anyway - I freakin' LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Nothing better than a somewhat dirty, old schoolish liquor store right in the heart of "conservative central"....Gilbert. Close enough for me to ride my bike, and the best craft beer selection short of Total Wine or Bevmo.....but it's growing all the time!! Also a great selection of high end liquor and quite a bit of wine. I talk to the owner every time I go in there, and he's always ready to show me the latest and greatest additions to the beer selection, even pulling "special" stuff out of the stock room for me at times. read more
