I can only speak to my very brief experience. I made an internet inquiry which went to the Internet Manager (Omer Sharif). In typical form of car sales, he immediately wanted me to come in to "take a test drive". I explained that I live out of town (about 3 hours away) and I can't simply stop by. I didn't get a response. I wrote again to say that I was however still interested in the car only to discover he had blocked me! This tells you something about the dealership when one of thier own managers block a potential customer because he wasn't able to get me in the door to hard sale me the car. So I go to the website and try the chat method. I explained exactly what happened and that I would like to report his behavior. Her response..."would you like to come in today?" Yea so apparently all they are concerned about is trapping you in the dealership so they can pressure you into buying. I if they can't they want nothing to do with you. If a person is shopping online..chances are high the person lives out of town. So this is what you get going to a dealership in a major city versus a smaller dealership in a small town. The only reason I am leaving a two star is because of the sales manager Aaron. He was great. Otherwise this would be a one star review. I recently purchased a brand new, $71,000 Acura MDX A-Spec Advance from Gillman. I put $14,000 down and have an 800+ credit score. While the vehicle itself is fantastic, the delivery experience and dealership management tactics were an absolute joke for a premium luxury brand. 1. The Careless Delivery (PDI Failures): The dealership completely dropped the ball on basic vehicle prep. They lost the second key to a $71k car and I had to sit around waiting while they scrambled to track it down in the service department. To make matters worse, they delivered the car with an empty windshield washer fluid reservoir, which triggered a low-fluid alert on my second day of ownership. Cheap, lazy prep. 2. Manipulative Financing Tactics by Management: The absolute worst part of the experience came from the dealership manager who handled my financing. Acura currently has top-tier promotional financing rates of 3.99%-4.99%. However, the moment I let it slip that I planned to pay the vehicle off in a few months, the manager jacked my interest rate up to 6.99%. He knew a quick payoff meant the dealership would lose their long-term bank kickback, so he manipulated the rate to force upfront profit out of my deal. When called out on it, he tried to buy my silence by offering me "3 years of free oil changes" if I didn't expose this behavior or leave a bad review. Giving a top-tier credit buyer a fake perk to hide rate manipulation is incredibly shady. Gillman might sell luxury cars, but management runs it like a low-tier, high-pressure used car lot. Buy the car, but finance somewhere else and check your fluid levels before you leave. read more

There are a lot of not so great reviews of Gillman Acura on Yelp, so I wanted to share my own experience. For anyone who doesn't want to read the whole thing, I found the dealership fair, honest, and easy to work with. I had a very positive experience and would definitely buy from them again. Now for some background. This was a pretty unusual car deal. Everything was done remotely, and I've never actually been to the dealership in person. So when I say they're trustworthy, I really mean it. I was looking for a very specific Integra Type S, a 2026 in Urban Grey with red interior. Gillman was one of only two dealers in Texas that had one on the way. To make things more complicated, I wanted about 5K in dealer installed options, and the car I was trading was a high end brand with a lot of upgrades, not a common trade and very hard to value. Driving it all the way to Houston for an appraisal and then coming back again to pick up the new car just wasn't practical. Gillman wasn't willing to install the options until I committed to the purchase and they had seen my trade, but I wasn't willing to commit without knowing my for sure trade value. To solve that, they arranged transport for both vehicles, my trade to them and the new Integra back to me. Watching my very expensive car get loaded onto a truck made me nervous, but everything went smoothly. As the process dragged out a bit, my salesperson Jhon actually sent someone to my house on a Friday night to sign all the paperwork in person instead of mailing it. That really impressed me. The young man who came out, Matthew, was polite, professional, and made everything simple. Jhon was great throughout the entire process, responsive, patient, and attentive to what I wanted. I'll admit I can be a little particular when I'm buying a car, but he handled it really well. All in all, the deal took about three weeks to wrap up between the car's arrival and the transport logistics, but now I've got my new Integra Type S with every option I wanted. I purchased a vehicle on December 31 from this people and didn't have the best experience. Staff turns from nice people to unprofessional as soon as you reject the offer they give you. I used to work in the car business myself and professionalism should be provided throughout the experience regardless of a sale or not. Guillermo the sales manager pretty much told me that it was my problem that I chose to buy a car in Houston with them since I live in Austin and didn't want to acknowledge certain things I was saying. Since I used to be in the car business myself I also knew he was trying to lie to me about certain things to try to make the sales and got upset when I brought them up to the table. Kameron the sales rep on the other hand was okay to deal with. His customer service disappears after the sale is done. I've tried to contact him three times about my registration sticker and haven't responded to me since the sale. Staff needs better training. Don't really recommend to deal with them unless you know what you're doing in my opinion as they will try to take advantage of you if they can. read more

Update on my Oct 2024 purchase- I still don't have my plates on my new vehicle in February 2025! The DMV website recommends retaining your plates. Gillman at first said I could not keep my plates, but then after asking someone, said I could keep them. When the temp tags expired in December and I still didn't have the stickers for my old plates, I looked for them in the DMV website lookup- nothing. I called Gillman and after multiple transfers and call backs they said they were ordered November 6, 3 weeks after my vehicle was purchased. They issued a dealer temp tag by email. This tag was very short term before it expired- still no tags. Called back again. Another run around and call back- they promised someone would go to the DMV in person to sort it out, after the bad weather passed. Finally 1/28 the person visited the DMV only to return with plates I didn't need and directions to take them to the DMV myself and get the sticker I need. They said they would mail them with arrival in 3-5 days, but agreed to overnight them when I insisted. Now the local DMV isn't able to do anything until the state finishes the paperwork- maybe a few more days. No red bow for this purchase - what an embarrassment this purchase should be for the entire business office. And who should I call to speak with about this at Gillman? I need a name. read more

We spoke to him beforehand and he had the car ready and running for us to test drive at arrival - out of 6 other dealerships we visited, not one went out of their way like he did! Highly recommend Robert and Team Gillman. Their closing / finance setup is nice too. They have e-sign tabletop tablet which saves ruffling through papers and they share a hard drive with all the docs when you leave. Loved it. No place is perfect, and Gillman could use a few improvements: -Closing/Finance wait time was over 1.5 hours. They did say that they were unusually busy, in which case they could've asked us to come back in 1.5-2 hours (and I wouldn't have complained) read more

After visiting Team Gillman Acura several times, I had an unsatisfactory experience with their service department. My sales rep was good, but I would've hoped this dealer had been more honest about the vehicle I purchased. After purchasing a certified pre-owned Acura, I discovered potential water damage that wasn't disclosed, SERIOUS in-car technology issues, a fluid/leak that causes a smell outside coming from the vehicle and smelling it each time I park, a very annoying squeaking noise from my break pedal, sluggish when starting the vehicle, and what seems like lack of power from the engine at times. Now, I've reached the point of living with it, as I feel like I'll just be wasting my time trying to receive help from the service department. When I approached my service advisor with the issues, she attempted to help. Still, I would assume there was so much back and forth that she got frustrated with me (to put it in nice terms), as the issues were not being resolved/Acura's certified warranty was not approving things. This led to the service department's inability to address the problems. Instead of investigating thoroughly or offering meaningful solutions, the response was dismissive, leaving me frustrated and unheard. I have spoken with countless Acura customer service reps, and they cannot even solve some issues. As a loyal customer, I expected transparency and a commitment to resolving issues. Sadly, this experience has made me question the dealership's customer care and trustworthiness. I hope they address these shortcomings for future clients. read more

What turned out to be a decent experience quickly became one of the worst. Only bright side to this dealership is Eduardo who tried to make things right. I'm pretty sure Masum the finance manager committed fraud with forging my signature and changing the documents after I signed off on this. Why? Because the paper work Honda Financial has is different from my copy. I called to get clarification and Marcos the Finance Director never called back. Gillman has dealt with class action lawsuits because of this in the past, they truly don't care and only want to make an extra dollar. Alejandro listened to what we we're looking for, a certified pre owned MDX 2020 and delightfully showed us their offerings. We landed on the 2022 and were so pleased with the no pressure sale, we purchased it and are having it delivered to California. Alejandro demonstrated genuine care for our needs and helped us understand the benefits of a 2022 CPO vs 2020. We are very pleased with the service we received from him and his colleagues, Kohen, Nunez and Ian. They were each professional and kind. Super shady dealership! We went in to look for cars on a Saturday, the car price was $27,900 with a $1500 discount. We went back the following Wednesday to purchase the car, after waiting around for almost an hour, they came back at $30,900 with a $750 discount. The sales guy said that was the deal then, not now. How do you raise the price $3,000 with a lower discount, and somehow the out of pocket was $5000 more. They guys run a bait and switch program, I highly suggest not purchasing from them. read more
