Just be cautious if you're buying a used vehicle here. I live pretty far so I spoke to the sales team over the phone to make a deal on one of their used vehicles. The listing and the price sheet they sent me said the vehicle had 14,150 miles on it, and the price I agreed on was based on that information they gave me. When I arrived a couple hours later I saw the car has 3,670 more miles than what they told me, but of course they weren't willing to re-negotiate. The window sheet also listed a full tank of gas and the windshield sunshade were included, but it wasn't. I was told those things are only standard when the car is brand new. Feels a bit bait and switchy. I would also reconsider paying for Certified Pre Owned. CPO checklist will include items such as "check scratch free (scratches exceeding 1"), no more than two chips (any size) per panel" but my car has scratches 3-4+" on many panels and several chips on one panel. Doesn't even look like they did an exterior detailing considering my car still had inventory markings on the front and rear windows. read more

From the very first interaction to the final handoff, there was a consistent lack of communication, misleading tactics, and unnecessary back-and-forth haggling that made the entire process frustrating and exhausting. What stood out the most was how poor the customer service was. With so many car dealerships out there competing for business, you would think customer experience would be a priority--but that clearly wasn't the case here. It felt like the only time there was any urgency or attentiveness was when it came to pushing the deal forward in a way that benefited them financially. Once that part slowed down, so did the level of care. It honestly felt like the goal was to bleed every dollar possible out of the deal rather than build trust or a long-term customer relationship. I never felt valued as a customer. Basic expectations were not met--when I received my vehicle, it wasn't properly cleaned or even filled with gas. I had to repeatedly request these simple services, which made me feel like I was asking for favors instead of receiving standard, minimum-level service. they sell me a car that's never been bought but was a loaner for folks with their car in the shop. basically new. told me I still get 4 free oil changes with the purchase of course. I come in today to get my first oil change and they turn that whole plan down because technically I hadn't bought a "new" car from them. this is called lying. I have my reminder schedule sticker in my windshield and everything. don't even get me started on the Christmas tree gift card deal they used last winter. you picked a card and at random they have a savings amount they said goes toward the car. I pulled one that was for $500. they clap and are happy for you. 5 minutes later they refuse to apply that savings amount to anything unless it's toward an add-on warranty. don't even get me started on how they go over the months and the monthly payment based on the principle and then they send Chase not the principle you still owe but all the future interest you would had paid had you paid the minimum for the term of the loan. THAT amount they pass on the Chase, to whole you pay that back with new interest too. If they want to make this right, then they can reach me. read more

They didn't like that I'm saving thousands by performing my own maintence so the mechanic torqued down the differential housing fill plugs so much that I needed to use a Milwaukee impact driver with over 600 ft-lbs. of torque to loosen them. When I contacted the service department they denied anything of the sort, and even the general manager would not take blame, offered no remedy, then thanked me for being able to learn from my experience. The mechanics and technicians can't be trusted. By the way, since when is an "induction cleaning" on a GDI performed with the engine off? You guys have no idea what you're talking about. I'm glad I do my own service and regret having ever taken my car to Gilman. Meanwhile, the guy next to me is shelling out $800+ for some "routine maintenece", GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. Quoting me $1,200 on a control arm bushing. Got the car back from an alignment and the steering wheel is crooked. Your whole service team is crooked. read more

I used to take my car to the cheapest place for oil changes and it ended up costing more to replace or fix things the cheap place screwed up. After a few hours and not receiving anything I reached back out. At that time I was told they had sold it to someone else. I called the slimy Internet Sales Manager and he claimed we never had a deal. Lies, lies lies. Someone came in and they probably made an extra dollar. April '24 I'm giving 3 stars on this review because of Angelique, the business manager. She is super personable, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She had my financing and all of my paperwork wrapped up in no time. She also was able to give me a good rate on my loan. The dealership is nice, clean, quiet and uncrowded. I bought a low mileage, Subaru certified vehicle that I'm overall very happy with. The purchase process was painful however. If you like to haggle, this is the dealership for you. I don't. Add $1000 ($995) to the price of any vehicle that you're looking at online. I was told it's a dealer "add on" added to all vehicles. When my vehicle was shown to me it was obvious that the previous owner had brushed against something with the passenger side of the vehicle. The side mirror was scratched. There were minor but noticeable scratches from the hood, along the side of the vehicle all the way to the back of the car. Maybe it's just me, but I would think that's something that would be taken care of prior to showing. Also that it would be clean inside and out. It wasn't. I had my mechanic (also a car dealer) check it out before buying. He found several dents that I had not noticed previously. He told me what a fair offer for the car was that included removal of the $995 fee, detailing inside and out, dent and scratch repair. The offer was presented to my salesperson as a "this is it" offer. The multiple trips back and forth of the salesperson to managers office began as did repeated counter offers. The last trip was of the sales manager to meet me. More negotiations. My offer was eventually accepted. The manager was visibly angry. I was exhausted. I later got the call that my vehicle was ready and to come to pick it up. It wasn't ready. After waiting about an hour and a half, when the car was ready the only thing I was interested in was getting get out of there. I live 30 miles from the dealer. It was late afternoon and rush hour. The scratches and dents appeared to have been taken care of. However, I later found a dent that had been missed and more minor scratches. The interior had not been cleaned, much less detailed. I'll take care of the remaining issues myself. I have no intention of returning to the dealership. I'm headed to Autozone today for supplies... Update 11/8/24 Good stuff: After owning and driving my '21 Subaru Certified Pre-Owned Forester for approximately seven months, I love the vehicle. Bad stuff: I recently noticed that one of my tires had uneven wear, to the point that it has very little tread left. Do I need an alignment this soon?! Really? I don't think so. I had Discount Tire have a look. All four tires need to be replaced. The car had approximately 22K miles on it when purchased. It now has 35K. How can four tires require replacement this soon? I inspected the tires before purchase. I remember them being name brand tires in good shape. What I'll soon be replacing are a brand I've never heard of. I can't prove it, but I'm suspicious that the hour and half wait for my car to be detailed (it wasn't) before taking possession was spent switching tires. Even junk tires don't need replacement in 35K miles. Fast Forward to April '25 My credit report showed a Hard Inquiry made by Team Gillman without my consent. I've had no contact with them to warrant an inquiry. These inquiries negatively affect your credit score. I called to find out why this inquiry was made. Of course, the VM answers with multiple options to press, none of which were credit. I pressed "0" for an operator/customer service. This transfers me to a different VM list of options, non of which are credit or finance. I pressed "0" again only to be returned to the same VM I had just listened to.... this time I pressed "1" for sales, you KNOW they'll pick up, which they did. I asked to be transferred to credit and was hung up on. Take Two. Called back, rinse and repeat. Never reached anyone in finance. This is ridiculously out of order. Customer Service is Dead. Do Not Deal With These People. read more

Good afternoon Gillman Team, On September 10, 2025, I scheduled an appointment with Rico Gomez for September 13. On September 12, we called and asked if we could come in that evening instead. Sales representative Andrew Turner said we could. When we arrived, we were told we could not test drive the vehicle without first submitting a credit application because it was classified as a "high-dollar" unit. The vehicle was listed at $40,000, which hardly feels like a "high-dollar" price point in today's market. I felt uncomfortable submitting a credit application for a vehicle we hadn't even driven, so we left. On September 13, Rico Gomez messaged asking if we were coming in. I explained what had happened the night before. Despite everything, we were still interested in the car, so we went to our bank for pre-approval, but underwriting was gone for the day and final approval wouldn't come until Monday. Since our credit had already been run, we returned to the dealership to submit an application so we could finally test drive. We were greeted by Daniel Ellis, who asked if we had ever driven an AMG before. We explained we hadn't but that we are a Mercedes family looking for an upgrade. He said that per HIS manager, the AMGs still couldn't be driven without an application. After running our credit, Daniel presented a buyer's order with a 29% interest rate. We told him we were already financing through our bank and only wanted the application submitted to allow a test drive, but suddenly the step changed. We could no longer just submit an application for a test drive, we had to get a full bank approval to test drive the car. At that point, we felt profiled and very uncomfortable. We called our friend Izzy, a manager at Gillman Fortbend, who confirmed these requirements were unnecessary and even offered to transfer the car to his store, but we chose to stay to avoid further delays. On Monday, September 15, our bank sent over our approval to Rico Gomez, who still had to get manager approval to allow a test drive. Around 5 PM, he called back with approval. We drove an hour after my son's football game just to be there, only to have Daniel Ellis walk out, make eye contact, and laugh. We waited, and were finally allowed to test drive, but by that time the bank was closed and we couldn't finalize anything that night. On Tuesday, September 16, we both took off work to finalize the purchase, only to find out the dealership had sent the wrong buyer's order to our loan officer. Our bank finalized the loan with the incorrect order, leaving the check $3,000 short due to a trade-in allowance that should have been removed. At this point, we were exhausted and frustrated after five days of back-and-forth. I ended up in Finance Manager Humza Rashid's office in tears, explaining everything we had been through. My husband was on the phone with Izzy, who was encouraging us to walk away entirely. Humza, however, was kind, professional, and empathetic. He calmed us down and worked to ensure we could take the car that day. We are TikTok content creators with over 30,000 followers in the Houston area. Many times during this process, we considered sharing our experience publicly but refrained, because that is not the kind of people we are or content we promote. It is important to remember that the people you might least expect to be buyers can be buyers and they might know others or even have a large fan base who will hear about their experience. In the end, it took a full bank approval just to be allowed to test drive a $40,000 vehicle and nearly a week to finalize a purchase that should have been simple. While we love the car, the process was unnecessarily stressful. The only bright spot was Humza Rashid and Rico Gomez, who remained professional throughout and we are grateful to them for their help and understanding. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience left us feeling judged, profiled, unwelcome, and frustrated. We are sharing this experience not out of anger, but in hopes that management will reconsider the protocols they have in place so that future customers can have a smoother, more welcoming experience. I would strongly caution anyone against buying a vehicle here. When I purchased my car, the dealership agreed to take care of my license plates since I was relocating under military orders. I provided every fee and piece of documentation they asked for. Months later, I'm still waiting. Calls are ignored, managers won't communicate, and the whole process is treated like it's not their problem. Here's the reality: if they can't follow through on something as simple and straightforward as providing plates--something they promised in writing--why would anyone trust them with financing, service, or anything else?
