    We're on our second Subaru Outback from Gilman Subaru located I-35 @ FM-1518. Their Customer Service is excellent. Their Service Writers give you the best advice without trying to sell you something you don't need. Mary is our Sales Consultant and does a great job explaining everything you need to know about your new Subaru with no pressure at all. She's also very good about staying in touch by phone or email to make certain we are enjoying many happy miles. If you're in the market for a new car where safety and reliability are importance to you and your family, check out Gilman Subaru. Due to "Blue State" laws, Gillman is closed on Sundays.     Once we hit the parking lot our sales guy was patient and not pushy. He answered questions and showed interest in our questions. He afforded plenty of tire kicking and test driving. If there was a question he could answer he was honest and sought out the answer. The buying process was smooth and the only issue we had was with "smartpay" that was offered. Smartpay should be avoided but this isn't about them. Finance was awesome and smooth process. Management was supportive and professional. If you read this much and wonder why it's only one star, this review is the opposite of what we encountered with Gillman Subaru and why we bought from Northside Ford.

    Damage

    Purchased a vehicle on 10/11/24 - was told there were no mechanical issues with the van (twice) - drove fine during the short test drive on 35 access roads. Hours after driving it off the lot, it started clunking. Both lower control arms were bad and needed replacing ($800 - they did give me $400 to offest this cost, but I had to sign a paper saying I would not ask for more money). While they were fixing the control arms, they found that the water pump was leaking ($670) which was causing the van to overheat while sitting at stoplights. AC compressor went out on 10/28/24 - another expensive repair. I have purchased several used cars over the years, and I have never had one that broke down so quickly. This was to be our family car for road trips, but now I'm worried about what else will break down. I mistakenly put my trust in the Gillman name.

    UPDATE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEY ARE THIEVES So I called back and spoke with Garry or Jerry Lewis who assured me that they will diagnose the A/C system to see what was wrong with it..for free. Which they did as you can see at the attached pictures, but according to them I needed a new compressor with they were going to charge me full price or just help me with a $300 discount cause I was so pissed with them. I said,"you guys messed with my system because it not the first time you work on something and something else completely different breaks." But Lewis said they had nothing to do with it and sweared to good that they don't conduct business like that. Well, with just a check light I found out that my compressor was working but not getting any signal to turn on from the AC Relay. So I did a little research and found out that the relay turns on with the LOW PRESSURE SWITCH. I looked for it and come to find out...it was disconnected. KEEP in mind, that switch needs pressure to come off. Wires will spilt before it comes off but it was off. So somebody from GILLMAN SUBARU is either an IDIOT TECHNICIAN or a THIEF TECHNICIAN or maybe it's just GILLMAN SUBARU policy to steal peoples money with fixing problems they cause. AGAIN STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEY ARE THIEVES

    Having a European car in the Texas Hill Country can be a challenge when it comes to getting it…read moreserviced. When that car is 18 years old, the challenge is even greater. I've taken my car here for a couple of issues, one was major and pretty straight forward, the second was even more time consuming because it was much less straightforward. The crew here worked with me to source the parts I needed at a price I could afford and stuck with the problems until they were resolved. Service like this does not come cheap however the value of getting it done right the first time with a shop that will back their work after you've paid for it makes it at least reasonable. These guys are direct and perhaps more unfiltered than you may find at other shops. They are also funny and passionate about getting your car back on the road working right. I highly recommend them to you.

They laid out a few options for me with or without using my insurance, and since I had a low deductible we ran it through the insurance. They were great with communicating with my adjuster and even communicated ahead of time that my return date would be 2 days later than originally anticipated, which I really appreciated. I dealt with Arthur and Belinda and they were both fantastic. I even had them do an oil change while it was there and they washed and vacuumed it before returning it! The extra detailing and care they put into the job was amazing and I'll definitely use them again. Thanks so much y'all!!!!

The moment the paperwork was signed, he stopped communicating altogether and would not return any of my calls. Pedro in finance was excellent, and Jack, who delivered my vehicle, was also great. However, after spending $35,000, you would expect the salesperson to have the basic decency to communicate. From misleading me about warranties, to responding "Happy?" when I requested photos of a vehicle I was purchasing sight unseen, to promising delivery and then not showing up or having the decency to inform me of cancellation--Ray Aguilar's behavior was unacceptable. I would have never chosen to do business with him, but unfortunately, he was assigned to me through a third-party site. Even when I tried to contact management for updates, no one returned my calls. This was the most unprofessional car-buying experience I have ever had. For such a significant purchase, I expected far better.
